This is a hidden gem that just might have the only reasonably priced sushi and bentou in midtown. Had a bentou with 9 delicious pieces of sashimi (4 kinds, and they don't even charge extra for it like many places do), California roll, miso soup, salad with super tasty ginger dressing, fried dumplings, and rice, as well as the house hot sake, for under $30 before tax and tip. It's a cozy place with a chill, unassuming atmosphere. Service was fast and polite. Some day I'll try their lunch specials...either way, this is my go-to sushi spot in Manhattan. read more

An item was not available and with a friendly call, they readily worked out a replacement. Delivery was well packed, super fast and accurate. Prices are about the same as other comparable places. A pretty average meal. The sushi was decent. The biggest takeaway from the nigiri I had is that it's just average, kind of unremarkable. Portioning was good, quality was good but not exceptional The fried chicken wasn't very good, would not recommend. Was closer to frozen microwaved chicken nugget quality than to real restaurant quality fried chicken. We were staying in Times Square and it was raining so we didn't want to go far and found this little gem. The food was wonderful and the service was great. Everything came out perfect. I especially liked the Nabeyaki udon. The broth was tasty but not overpowering. We'd gone to several other highly rated places on Yelp during the week and were not that impressed. Came here because it had 4.5 stars. Unfortunately it was not a good experience. The white tuna was not good cuts of the fish and seemed a little freezer burned. The spicy tuna was so so and the shrimp tempura was fine, but its hard to mess that up. The prices were good but the quality was lacking. Will go elsewhere next time. read more

A smaller sushi shop in Hells Kitchen, they opened up on the last few months. Originally I went with M.Y. for a post-climbing dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the 3 roll combo for 20 dollars. This combo also includes a soup or a salad. We then went back a few weeks later with N.S. and T.H. to have a quick and easy meal. The fish was still fresh, the service still lovely, and the food was still fast. On that visit, T.H. had the ramen which unfortunately was not super amazing especially considering there are some other, better Ramen shops in the area. So why only 4 stars? It's a pretty standard sushi bar with good quality fish but the rest of the menu still needs a little refinement. Will I keep coming while I live nearby? Of course! This place JUST opened behind Mama Mia's 44th. I had lunch there today and the 3 roll special was amazing. Miso soup (best I've ever had) simple salad with ginger dressing, fresh and crisp. I had (out of a wide selection) the spicy tuna roll, the eel with avocado roll and the tempura shrimp roll. Each was DELICIOUS. The staff was warm and friendly also. My friends had the Salmon Bento Box with Miso, Salad, rice, California roll and some veggies. Great roll and outstanding slab of Salmon. Everybody was full and sated. Ordered to go from here and it was fast and easy which I always appreciate. We ordered the pork gyoza which had 6 very small pieces, half were delicious and half were a bit chewy. The rolls are moderately sized. The fantastic roll was a pretty large and had a hefty amount of topping. The spicy tuna is SPICY, but fresh. Philadelphia roll was okay but the cream cheese was a bit sweet to me. My other favorite item to go was the miso soup. It was a pretty large size which was nice, I was able to save some for leftovers. Will definitely be back! read more

We are visiting NYC and love sushi and were staying close by so we chose Ari Sushi. We really enjoyed our server who was really sweet and helpful. The kani salad, seaweed salad, and gyoza were so yummy and we were able to share them between 3 of us. We tried the rock n sushi roll and the philly roll and both were delicious. The menu was huge and im sure they have something for everyone without breaking the bank. We were really pleased with our visit and will be back next time we are in NYC. read more

I had been watching this space for some time and it has never had a restaurant that actually took hold. There have been many in that space. I hope that Ari Sushi will change all of that. I went recently for the lunch special. I was seated immediately [table of my choice] and water was brought to the table. There was a 10% discount for lunch that day which was nice. I was given a menu and had already decided on the lunch special which was the sushi platter which came with a salad and miso soup. This serving at night comes with either soup or salad, not with both. My salad and soup came out almost immediately and the soup was hot and the salad was nicely chilled. They were both delicious. My sushi came out shortly after and was nicely displayed on a long dish with wasabi and ginger in the corner. The fish was fresh and delicious. It is a square space with a small bar in the front as you enter the restaurant. it was very clean. The staff was courteous, attentive and prompt. It was a nice meal and I would return. read more

It's the closest sushi place to me, but the food is grocery store quality. Make sure you order from grubhub or doordash if you decide to eat here anyway, so you can get a refund if things go south. I ordered food and paid for it. They let me know it was ready for pickup, but when I arrived, my food was nowhere to be found. Perhaps they gave it away, who knows. They told me my order was not there. Instead of helping me get my food, they first had me wait 20 minutes, and then shooed me away. They seemed surprised I waited so long to find out what happened to food I paid for (I showed them the receipt from their restaurant). Terrible service, disorganized, and not worth it for blah food. read more
