Two very big issues…read more First, I took a family member to Alan Webb Mazda for an after-hours vehicle service drop-off and I was extremely disappointed to see Alan Webb Mazda parks their new cars in the handicapped access way adjacent to the handicapped space. This would completely block disabled folks in wheelchairs from exiting their car. What a shame. Second, and to make matters worse, we actually weren't able to leave the dealership after completing the vehicle drop off because somebody had locked the gates behind us, barring us from driving away from the dealership property. I can't find any information on their website that says vehicles must be dropped off by a certain time. Luckily, I got ahold of a janitor who was able to unlock the gates for me. Before I wrote this review, I called Alan Webb Mazda and spoke to a woman in the service department about the locked gate issue. Unfortunately I didn't think to ask for her name, but she replied by saying "I tell my customers verbally about dropping cars off before 7pm, is there anything else I can help you with?" Not even a quick apology for the mix-up. My verbal request to add that information to the website was also ignored. At the time of writing this review, Alan Webb Mazda is averaging 2.9 stars on Yelp. No wonder! Horrible customer service.

Dan was easy to work with in person, and we were able to quickly get a deal done once I arrived. This dealership has a wide and impressive variety of cars, with many custom fitted with aftermarket modifications. Pricing is fair and reasonable for the value you are getting. Throughout the process Dan was very helpful, including to help me arrange and coordinate with a transport company to ship the car back to Florida. I would highly recommend this dealership and would definitely be open to buying another car from him in the future.

He is also funny and cool; as one of the other reviewers said, you'd like to have a beer with him. You can work with Mitch in two ways. One: he might happen to have the perfect car for you sitting in his lot already. If so, lucky you! He only sells cars that are in great shape, often managing to find what I call "car unicorns" (one-owner cars with great maintenance records from states without road salt or flooding). Two: if Mitch doesn't happen to have the right car for you, you can use him as a sort of "car sommelier." He'll help you figure out what kinds of cars you might like (which was super helpful for me), steer you away from bad years or bad models, and then, when you know what you want, he'll source you a great car. When the car arrives in PDX, he'll take it to a reputable mechanic to make sure it's in tip top shape. We were definitely going to use Mitch to source a car for us, but, alas, we unexpectedly found our own extremely rare "unicorn" at a different dealer. All people I delt with during the paperwork process were great and Sam would stop by to see if I needed anything and if things were progressing well. Which they were. This updated review is for the service department…read more After owning the vehicle for two months, I was contacted by a woman called Charisma at the dealership offering a free oil change for my vehicle. After a few text messages back and fourth trying to establish a good time for when to bring my vehicle in, I was completed ghosted. No replies to text. Seems like this person fell off the edge of the earth never to be heard from again. I also contacted my salesperson Brody and he never got back to me. In addition I asked Brody prior to this woman contacting me if I had any complimentary oil changes after purchasing the vehicle and his answer was no so I was surprised that this woman would even contact me at all in the first place. I firmly believe that accountability and follow up should be strictly enforced especially when someone makes contacts you and initiates a false offer and then completely cuts off communications. Pretty disappointed. Who knows. Maybe she was an intern or got fired but nonetheless, there should be some accountability especially if you want returning customers in the future. The vehicle runs nice though. No issues. If you're here to buy the vehicle, only expect that. Have it serviced at another place where you feel that your time is respected without being led-on for false expectations. Time to take the heat gun and remove the silly Herzog-Meier Dealer badge they added to my rear hatch for advertising purposes.
