The actual car buying experience was fine. All the work after that was the worst I've ever experienced. I've been through 3 temporary dealer plates (all of which I had to drive 45 minutes to pick up) and only just now received my registration. 4 months after I purchased my vehicle. The dealership then neglected to include the updated registration stickers for my plate causing multiple trips to DMV and hours wasted. Who knew transferring plates from a trade in could be so difficult... Don't waste your time, go to a dealership that is more organized. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I contacted Weston service department back in July when I received a recall notification from GM on my new vehicle. I was told they did not have all the information on the recall and would call me back as soon as they had all the Information on what to do about the recall. I call back several times without any luck of resolving the recall issue.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I contacted the service department around October 28 2025 about my recall and was told that there was now 4 recalls that need to be addressed and that I could make an appointment to bring in my vehicle and that they had time on Tuesday November 4th 2025 to addresse all the recalls to have my vehicle there between 8 and 9 o'clock and that they would have a rental available for me. I arrived at 8:30 AM check in and that they would need my vehicle until the next day. I was then told they were out of rental cars that they would have to try and locat me one that it had ito be a GM rental for GM to pay for it. After a 1/2 car ride to Hertz rental I received my rental car. At 2:00PM I received a call say my vehicle was ready to be picked up I said nice I would be there shortly to pick it up. When I arrived to the service are to let them know I was there to get my truck not one service advisor acknowledged me or ask if they could help me not one and there were about 3 or 4 of them at there desk. I then decided to go in to the cashier office and told them I was there to pick up my vehicle and that I was dropping off the Hertz rental car, after a few minutes of looking for the paper work the young man finished the paper work explained to me what they did. He then hands me my keys and says you vehicle is parked over there by the back fence pointing to the back of the dealership parking lot with hundreds of other cars and trucks, I said over where like is this some kind of a joke, he just look at me and said over there. I proceeded out the door and through this maze over vehicles searching for my truck that was parked in the furthest, away spot that it could have been parked in right next to there Weston Fire Truck. We were on a road trip pulling my RV trailer with my new GMC truck. We had some issues with the truck that needed immediate attention. We looked up at GMC dealer near Portland and found the Weston dealership. We had just started our vacation and were very distraught with the truck issues. Let me tell you a story about a unicorn in the automotive retail business......a dealership with ethics. I have a progressive, debilitating medical condition that requires me to use a wheelchair, and recently the issues have grown to the point of needing a vehicle with a lift. But not just any vehicle would do, for my needs it HAD to be a particular GM model. Low and behold, the pandemic of 2020 had driven the supply/demand curve way out of whack, and these vehicles are going for 18-20k over MSRP all day long. Insurance doesn't cover this, I am solely responsible to obtain this vehicle to maintain my employment. The only bright spot I. The situation is that I am eligible, through my employer, for the GM supplier discount. While not the best price available, it beats MSRP by a ways...... but is not mandatory for a dealer to honor, that is optional. I tried every GM dealer in the PNW and was told sorry but no, then I called Vincent Curletto at Weston. The Weston group had empathy for my situation honoring the pricing, this made it possible! This brought the vehicle into the fiscal "window" of success. For once I see light at the end of the tunnel, and it's not a train. The sign in the service bay that says that their goal is 100% customer satisfaction is true. They go the extra "mile," and they do it with a smile regardless of you drive a fancy car or a junker. The waiting room is comfortable, and you can get popcorn if you do desire. The show room is even more comfortable with a nice couch. They will pick you up and drop you off if you need it. Purchased a brand new GMC Acadia Denali and just over 5,000 miles there is a transmission problem. I didn't have my car for 3.5 weeks then recently I made an appt. because at times we here a whistling -and it shifts hard (intermittent). I made the service appt. For a Wednesday and left a message for the service manager the Friday before because I had questions and he never called me back and when I called him I received no apology and he said "yah I don't know what GMC was doing but we have seen 20 of these this year and I even have to let another guy whose engine is seized up that is warranty is up and he is not covered" really comforting. Then the day of our appt., my husband calls in the am and asks if he will get a loaner car and the lady on the phone reads the service notes and says no the car will only be in the shop a couple of days. We live in Beaverton. My husband had to catch the light rail back home. Then on day 8 we get a call that they have driver my car several times and aren't hearing anything and I stop the guy right there and say excuse me funny thing about technology. I have the gmc app and I snapped a picture of the mileage on my car and you haven't driven my car anywhere. Long story short 10 days later no fix and we have the car back and have hired an attorney because what they don't know is we took it to a transmission shop in Hillsboro and there is a transmission problem. Never ever buy a car from them. Their customer service is horrible. If I had the option of no stars I would give that. I am also composing a letter corporate GMC. Westin should not be in business. My husband left work (he is a contractor and it was Probably because of the way he was dressed) to meet with the service rider and was waiting in the sales area and they didn't know that and not one person asked if he needed help. Their message and i quote l"i am away from my desk leave a message and this blinking light will tell me i have a message and return your call asap!" 24hr later nothing must have a light burned out on that blinking thingy! Dont try to get it service at your place though lol. And I don't mean for the same service three separate appointments and 2 or three calls each appt. Came in for a scheduled appointment to get a tire replaced, service guy told us "It's just a tire, super easy & a quick fix, give us 30-40 minutes MAXIMUM. It shouldn't take us that long, but just in case, 30-40 MAX." He made sure to be clear with us it's simple & we should be in and out quickly. After exactly an hour and a half, (3x the amount we were told would be our maximum) they finally finished & returned keys to my husband and I. Completely understand that shit happens & things don't go to plan, or run behind schedule. But at the very least, COMMUNICATE these things with the customer. I would've been completely understanding had we of been informed it would take longer than we were told. The lack of communication here was absolutely garbage, we would've taken the tire elsewhere to be put on had they have been transparent with us. At least we got to spend our time entertained watching two separate mechanics walk in circles, open every drawer in their toolbox, set a tool out, walk in a circle BACK to the toolbox to put the tool back & do it all over again. I'll start by saying that the initial process was pretty smooth and no pressure. Which was nice. 1 star because they ran my credit without my permission (i brought my own financing and specifically did not sign their credit documents and told them i did not want my credit ran). Then when i made an issue of it because it's technically fraud on their end, Ben gave me a lip service about an oil change a full tank of gas for my trouble. Later down the process after everything was signed i found out that comes standard. If they had not ran my credit without my permission this would have been 5 stars. If Ben hadn't given me a lip service and they ran the credit it would have been 3 stars. Ultimately i left there feeling used and dirty. Wow!! What a great group of people. I'm not even a customer but they were happy to help me. Here's the skinny...I'm in town on a trip and my truck broke down on a Friday night. Had to have it towed somewhere, so I picked a decently rated private mechanic near where I was staying. Got the problem fixed but the price came in higher than expected. Paid it but thought I would check. Called Weston service dept. and they were sooo helpful. He did a full quote for me over the phone just to make sure and talked me through some option. Turns out the other guy was a little high but not enough to cause an fuss. Then I wondered why my cruise control didn't work. I didn't want to be one of "those" customers that blames the mechanic for everything that's wrong with my truck. He told me what might have happened and how to check. The only reason I'm giving one star is because I can't give any less. I brought my truck in to get a check engine light looked at. Truck is under full warrantee. They told me that I need all new glow plugs to the tube of $900 and warrantee doesn't cover that. They said 4 of my glow plugs were completely bad which is untrue because I drove it in and it ran fine. Now they charged me $165 for an incorrect diagnosis because I denied the glow plug service. And on top of that my battery is dead when I go to leave. Never coming back here. Never buying another truck from these guys. Weston has a terrible warrantee program and I'm going with Tonkin in the future because they honor the warrantees properly. Don't waste your money here people! read more

I went into this location to the service department to inquire about getting my mirror repaired. I stood there at least three minutes waiting on Mike Henderson to acknowledge me. I decided to ask if I needed an appointment and his response was " You see me on the computer I will help you when I'm done." Another man came on the scene and I spoke to him then immediately Mike Henderson said something to the means of, I told her I would help her when I'm done, trying to block any support. Finally had to go up to one to tell them to cancel the appointment. They don't care about their customer's time or car apparently. I took my Sierra 2500 diesel truck for a routine oil change. My check engine light was on and I asked the service rep to look into this issue. The rep let me know my glow plug #3 needed to be replaced and said it's best to change all out at the same time since I had 115k miles. I agreed to have them all replaced while having my oil changed. After a few hours of waiting I inquired how much longer it would take, the rep let me know the mechanic had issues with two glow plugs and broke one of them off. The rep said it would cost another $4,000-$6,000 to fix it because they would need to remove the block. I asked if I could drive my truck home and he said it was not drivable. I reached out to GMC headquarters the next day because I did not feel like this was my fault. GMC reached out to the dealer and they said it was not the mechanic's fault due to the build up with the glow plug. However, if this glow plug #6 did not need to be replaced why would the tech try to take it out if it was not coming out? Needless to say, I had my truck towed to another place because I do not trust this place. The place that's fixing the issue said they have not snapped a glow plug before. I'm very upset with Weston GMC, they did not take any responsibility for the issue or apologize. I will never take any of my vehicles to their service department and I have notified all friends and family of what occurred. I wish the service rep at least notified me this could occur, I would have only had the one plug removed and I would not be out thousands of dollars. My relationship with Weston goes back a long time. I bought my last car there. I didn't buy my current car at Weston, but still had it serviced there. I had given them 5 stars. They got a bump because of the "halo effect" based on how good my last car was, going over 250,000 miles with only minor issues, but the accolades really belong to the GM of Canada Oshawa plant that built that car. Fast forward to my current car. Being on the east side, I gave them most of my service business. They performed reliably so I gave them 5 stars. The original tires were starting to wear a little soon and the service advisor, apparently no longer there and, in my opinion, not particularly likable, told me 'You need new tires' at 2 back to back oil changes. I had them checked out and also did the penny test, and there was a little more to go. I was keeping an eye on them. GM dealers have gotten on this push to sell tires. However, I want the free rotations and balancing, so a GM dealer would not be selling me tires. I also wanted to discuss another minor issue with my car. Instead, he quickly folded his arms. This wasn't someone I could converse with. Since I've had productive and informative exchanges with many service advisors, I made sure I scheduled service with the other advisors going forward. After a few more oil changes, I showed up with the new tires bought elsewhere. A service advisor I "thought" I had gelled with in the past began the service order and, upon opening the car door to read the mileage, said, 'Sooo, you got new tires.' What the hell? It wasn't like the 'hey, cool' nod I once got when seeking an alignment at a SoCal Olds dealer when I took in my dad's car after putting on new Michelins on it at 4 Day Tire Stores, but more of a disappointed one that I didn't buy tires from them. So I expected something else to "go south" during that oil change visit and, in my mind, it did. At relatively low, but post warranty, mileage, I was suggested a repair for something that was showing no leaks, noises, smells, or drivability issues. I knew I'd be tearing up the service report card the cashier hands you when I had ordinarily sent it back with good comments. It was one of those things that involved opening things up ... and I've seen chasing things make matters worse. I asked when to do it and was told in some 3 to 6 months. I prefer to read (I had a Chilton manual for my last car), do research, and get other perspectives by taking the car to other dealers for service. Several oil changes later, others described the issue as barely nascent (as in "meh") upon my asking about it, or just did not note it. I almost never "met" Weston. I ordered a car during spring break of my last year in grad school because my car was rusting and the factory would soon retool for next year's models. I specifically wanted some sporty features yet few power gizmos. I was told to expect the car's arrival in about 6 to 8 weeks. I told the salesman that that was good, since it aligned with when I'd be coming back home. I then got a call from my parents telling me to call Weston. As it turns out, the car arrived early and the salesman told me, 'Hey, man, someone wants to buy your car.' I told him that I'd be in school for another 4 weeks and that I would pick it up immediately upon flying home, which I did. I recalled seeing he wasn't interested in or couldn't relate to that sort of detail, so he probably selectively forgot. With his 'hey, man,' I thought he was an unprofessional dolt. He could have just said, "Robert, your car arrived early. Please come pick it up upon returning home." Had my car been sold, I don't know if I could have still custom ordered it upon returning to Portland. This should have started Weston off at 4 stars instead of 5. If professionals are not always as professional as they can and should be, then it shouldn't be expected on a showroom sales floor, even if it's Porsche or Mercedes Benz. This update, though, is based on a few more recent experiences. I had no negative experiences with Weston service with my last car. And I didn't have any with my current car unless they suddenly got intent on selling me more services beyond the ones I was coming in for from the priced service menu. I was not going to now dance around avoiding 2 service advisors. For me, they now get 2 stars (Yelp meaning: I've seen better) for service but I'm giving them 3 stars overall. I'm guessing buying a car from them, or anyone, isn't so difficult in the transparent internet age, warranties have gotten better, and parts employees have always been helpful. But, with the immediate 'Sooo, you got new tires' greeting on that last visit, I decided that Weston service had begun to feel different, that I had had enough, and that the more laid back style at more "old school" GM service shops in Portland (like the now gone Wallace and Armstrong GM franchises) and elsewhere worked better for me. read more

I ended up with a non working thermostat and oil leaking from the car after picking it up after a 21 day piston replacement. Oh and a technician left a screwdriver in my engine compartment. Classy. My 2017 Terrain developed 2 electrical issues. #1. The left driving light was really dim compared the right. #2. My side dection warning lights quit. Since I had some bodywork done at another vendor I wasn't sure if something didnt get plugged back in correctly so I took it to Weston for evaluation. I told Brian about the above statement. As it turns out that was a mistake. And here is why. My main issue was the blind spot warning lights on the mirrors quit working. Doing a internet forum check on the problem it seems there's a connector that is a bad design and it gets moisture in it and loses connection. Day 2 I called and Brian told me the tech has been tracing wires and still hasn't found the problem with the side dection but the driving light was fixed. He ssid it was wired wrong.BIG RED FLAG. Day 3 I got the call it was ready to pick up and the cost was 696.00. And my extended warranty didnt cover any of it. Needless to say I was steaming all day. When I got to Weston I told the nice ladies in the office I wasn't happy and wanted to talk to someone. I can't remember his name but he waived the costs of the side detection Repair which was 330.00 but I still had to pay for the driving light repairs be cause someone cut the wires and wired it up wrong. Another Red flag. The lights have a plug on them,no reason to cut the wires. After paying the weston guy brougt his phone into the office and showed me a picture of the splice. I had his forwarded it to my phone and went directly to the bodyshop that did my work and showedthem the picture they informed me there was no reason to disconnect or cut the wires to the light and they don't use the cheap belden type connectors is they do ever have to repair something. Now I'm thinking the worst and texted the weston guy back and told him I will take the car to someone and confirm there were wires cut. No reply back from him. I got under my car and took pictures of the area and found nothing. The picture he sent me isn't even of my car. I believe my problems were just bad connections and got scammed by Weston. My Honda Odyssey's check engine light popped on and started flashing. I had NO idea what was wrong with it because it was still driving OK at the time the light came on. I called Gary Kaufman from GMC's service dept and told him the check engine light was flashing. He told me what he thought it might be and asked me to bring it in. By the time I got it to him it started running rough and losing power. I have never had any problems with this car and was pretty upset. Gary was very friendly and very reassuring that they would find the problem. Which I found comforting. Throughout the day I received phone calls with updates (I liked that), apparently the problem was elusive and they could not get the car to lose power and run rough like it was when I was driving it. I did not want the car back until the issue was resolved. So they continued to systematically go through the engine until at last they found the mystery! I am so glad they did because I believe it would have been a catastrophic engine failure if they had not been determined to find the problem. I greatly appreciated the phone call updates and that Gary listened to me and my concerns. Because they took the time and found it early before more damage could be done they save me a LOT of money. He also told me a few other things that I should have done while my car was there..and these things I KNEW about, but did not mention. Like my warped rotors and the oil change being past due. I just procrastinated on them both. Because I already knew about that but didn't mention it, I know he was not pushing extra service, sales and parts on me. He was concern that these things really needed to be taken care of...and he was right. A car's maintenance is not something people should procrastinate on. And I wont any more. I really appreciate that he took the time to actually go over my car and found the other issues I did not mention and not just worked on the mystery problem I took it in for. I feel confident in my car again, it drives great and stops even better! I will definitely take my car back to GMC for routine maintenance. And if anybody has had a not so good experience in the past, just go to Gary's desk instead. You wont get better service! read more

Awesome experience here 3 years ago when I purchased my used Dodge 1500! Sales team was fantastic and friendly. The truck, although it was used, was the best 1/2 ton I have ever owned. They seem to have a friendly sales staff and always greated warmly with their service staff. They will show you the problems with your car and give you a brief estimate. However, if you are trying to SAVE money for repairs their parts department does not give out GM part numbers. Seems like they care more about their business competition and not trying to be loyal to customers that are trying to save money in tight economic times. Their parts are marked up via MSRP so you might get an aftermarket part that will do you just fine from Napa or Schucks Auto. I will do limited business with them because they can't be honest and upfront with their customers in terms of repairs. read more

These guys are fantastic! My husband and I went in looking for a newer truck with 2 trade ins and they will treat you right!!!! The building is beautiful with lots of windows and a warm inviting fireplace awaits you inside on days you feel like snuggling during the car buying process! They drive you around in golf carts so you don't have to walk the vast space to car shop! They have a huge selection !!!!!!!! I highly recommend Scott Borges to get you started! He will go beyond the call of duty to help you and is the nicest guy ever! Then I suggest meeting Justin Hamsley the business manager- sharp , kind and on top of his game and a pro. He makes a grueling paperwork process go as fast as he can! We were equally impressed with the director of fixed operations , Dan Schofield!!! What a nice nice man who is beloved by all there and will go to great lengths to get you good prices on parts and make sure you are taken care of! We live out in Redland and I swore the next car I bought would be closer to our home , but we will definitely make the drive out to Gresham again happily to purchase our future cars from these guys! read more
