I continue to be very satisfied with the Service Department at Gresham Subaru. They're very professional and seem to be on top of it. The customer waiting area was pretty packed when I took my car in for service this week. It's fairly comfortable and is kept clean. They have filtered water and a coffee machine that makes a variety of hot drinks (coffee, latte, hot chocolate, tea...) and a few snacks to offer. I appreciated the heads up from my service representative, that they were running just a little behind so the wait might be longer than I'd planned, but they were able to finish the maintenance on my car within an hour and a half, so it worked out well. read more

I personally hate pushy stereotypical car salesmen and that's what you are going to get here. Definitely felt pressure of them trying to "make a deal". We ended up purchasing because the car we got was a good deal for the market based on our extensive research not because of the sales person. It is now 3:00 p.m. with no call back. Called the parts department about a part. Was told they would call back. Waited 1/2 hr, they did not so I called the Oregon City Subaru dealer who did not have the part, but looked up the Gresham Subaru dealer's parts inventory and told us they did have the part. Drove into Gresham, got the part, came home and installed it ourselves and still have not gotten a call back from Gresham Subaru. Will not be buying any more cars there. I give them one star only because there is not an option for ZERO. read more

The service department treated me like royalty. My 2017 CrossTrek died and restarted itself on the freeway. Scared the livin' daylights out of me so I went to the service department as soon as I could -- on a Saturday -- they were ready and waiting and completely helpful. I was given a report of everything they found that might need attention and I was able to choose which items to work on. THEN THEY GAVE ME A LOANER CAR. All in all I had that loaner car for two weeks and they did a great job repairing my car -- yes, it took them awhile to pinpoint the trouble. I will not be taking my car back here to get serviced again. They're not good at communicating with people who do not understand cars nor do they fully document what they've reviewed. They said they fixed my vehicle and within a week it stopped working. They told me I needed a new battery but I took it back to the auto zone I bought it at 3 months ago who tested it at 100%. Never once on the paperwork or via phone was it explained that they did a deep dive test that found an issue that might not register directly on a more surface level test by autozone but no one reviewed that with me or made any note about it on the original paperwork that I could show autozone relating to my concern. I reached out to speak with a manager regarding my concerns 4 different times and not once did they reach back out to me. I wish I could just ignore my clients I don't want to talk to - highly unprofessional. I will be complaining to Subaru corporate about my experience. Do not take your vehicle here. I will be going to Vancouver next time. I finally heard back from a a manager who basically didn't give a crap about what had happened. He said that I left messages with a third party call center so he never was truly notified about my concern and didn't seem terribly concerned and just got mad at me that he hadn't gotten contact as if I would know who is fielding my call when I dial the service information listed on the Gresham Subaru website. read more

My dad once told me "never judge a company based off their successes, but how they fix their failures." He had a company pave his new driveway and after a few months began cracking. He asked them to come fix their mistake and they said they would only repair a third of it because it would cost too much to repair the whole thing. My dad said "well I don't know how that's my problem. I already paid you to do the work." The company refused and lost out on over $50,000 of work my dad had lined up for his other properties. Similarly, Gresham Subaru knew upon selling me the vehicle that the door locks had been faulty. Two days after driving my car off the lot, two of my four door locks would not work. They said they would look into it and did fix the driver side door, but would not fix the rear passenger door because it would cost too much. Does that sound like a company willing to fix their mistakes? I know it's odd and it's creepy to consider your salesperson as your best friend after dealing with them once but I am now their biggest number one fan. Kidding Aside. Gio is one of the best sales person I have ever met. And no one likes car salesmen. I don't like them. Case in point, the dealership I have bought two other Subarus in the past (not this dealership) initially told me that they couldn't drop the price from MSRP because the showroom tacked on $6,000. worth of nothing ($3,000 for vehicle theft registration and another $3,000 for some other BS thing) and that was pretty much the "discount" that they were giving us. Between charging for a service that didn't fix the car, keeping my car for three months with no communication or call backs from a manager, then trying to charge $8,000 more, I was upset. For service I've been going to Wentworth Subaru and Superior Imports for for years. A few people recommended Gresham Subaru for service, that it was worth the drive. It's not clear when you drive up if you should wait in your car or walk into the garage to check-in. Drew quickly diagnosed something Superior couldn't. And I didn't get invoice shock. They did try to cross sell me with "you have a dirty air-filter and need ______," but that's the norm with dealerships. I do slightly prefer Wentworth's customer waiting area. Robin, the Service Tech, was very nice. While I was waiting one of guys in the office was involved in a tense personal phone call. Maybe close your door. But it does suck having little privacy. We said no at which he stormed off to the front next to his coworkers where he proceeded to snicker and make remarks right in front of us. I've worked with multiple big dealerships in the past five years. I've never seen someone be so blatantly disrespectful and be backed by his managers. To start, I did not get a good impression when I walked in; it was busy. Salesman took me for a test drive, literally around the block. He was tired from the night before, so he was not the most attentive. The sales manager should have gotten the commission; he did all the work. I was asked if I wanted a drink, I said a soda and was shown a vending machine in some back building. Really, you can't afford to serve soda to your customers? Finance Manager was relentless to sell extended warranty, made me feel uncomfortable. Sent several emails regarding various concerns but just got crickets. I wouldn't recommend buying anything from Gresham Subaru, maybe it was just my experience, but it felt like what everyone hates about dealerships. My 82yo mother took her Outback there for an oil change. After the oil change they told her there was an oil leak that needed to be fixed and it would cost over $3000 because they had to remove the engine. I looked under the car and saw no sign of a leak but took it to another dealer to be sure. The other dealer said there was no leak. Didn't make me feel welcomed to say the least. Best part is the car I had scheduled to look at was already sold. We were in the market for a car to replace the Honda Element we lost in a fender bender. As we were researching online, seeking out used Elements, we came upon a 2005 at Gresham Subaru. We called and made an appointment with Cassidy, a dealer there, and went to check it out. When we arrived, someone was there to open the door for us, which was not only terribly courteous, but helped me out because I had broken my wrist 2 weeks pior to our visit to the dealership. Cassidy was incredibly friendly and helpful. He took us on a test drive and worked with us on lowering the cost of the car, due to the radio being inoperative. We were able to easily finance the car with his assistance and he even went as far as to pick up my husband from the Gresham park & ride to take him to the dealership when we had to return our rental car. I have been a customer of Gresham Subaru since 2013 and I will never go back there for service on my Forester. I recently purchased an Outback for my 18-year-old. We took it in for an oil change and to have them determine the source of a rattling sound in the engine. They came back saying it needed $7400.00 of work during their 'safety' inspection. They claimed it needed a new head gasket when it didn't. I took it to another car repair place - whose owner drives a Subaru - and he said that not only did it not need a head gasket, he repaired the rattle at no charge. The only thing needed was new brakes and his quote was significantly less expensive than Gresham Subaru. I will never go back to Gresham Subaru. They're dishonest. read more

Mike appologized but offered to show us some other vehicles that were available. When I told him it had been years since I had driven a Subaru he quickly grabbed a set of keys and allowed us to test drive a used Forester that was similar to the one we had gone to see. Mike was such a joy to work with. His knowledge of the Subaru brand is extraordinary. He was cheerful, pleasant, and attentive to our vehicle needs. Either inept management or willing to lose a sale over a $330 scam. Grisham Subaru price matched Carr Subaru on the vehicle I was looking for. The proposal they offered added GAP insurance, extended warranty, and PULSE. I declined the GAP and extended warranty, and requested information on what PULSE was. They informed me it was a lighting system that flashes the brake light. I researched the product, and found that the system consists of a $15 switch available on Amazon. I declined PULSE. Gresham Subaru failed to respond to this counter offer for well over a day. Either they are so inept as to not have a general manager, acting general manager, or my salesperson contact me the day before a scheduled appointment to sell a car, or they tried to bluff their way through getting me to pay $349 for a $15 switch and failed. Jake Pratt then tried to use my situation (due to COVID-19, there are no sales in WA and the Subaru 0% financing offer ends in 5 days) to justify their offer. I recommend going elsewhere. read more
