I don't get the bad reviews. The food was really good - easily the best Chinese restaurant in Waltham. We way over-ordered, but we got to try a lot of different things. Szechuan chicken was sneaky hot, cumin lamb was really good as was the braised chicken and stir fried pancakes. By far the best was the mushroom delight (assuming you like mushrooms). Very strange and uneven place. Went their soon after opening and the food was literally inedible - the soup was grey water with some glass noodles and a handfull of spinach leaves on top. A few months later, and the meatball soup was almost good! A week later, the soup was clearly heavily watered down and cumin pork had so much cumin, it was rediculous. There are a few restaurants in Waltham now that seem to exist for purposes other than serving goid doid to customers - this one seems to be one of those. read more

Lanzhou noodle was not as good as I have expected. Noodles were hard, and I thought it could be better. Originally I thought the noodles were hand pulled, but my friend who had an authentic Lanzhou noodle dish before said that the noodles at this place were probably not hand pulled. It also tasted like the noodles were raw. Staffs were friendly but their menus offer only limited choices. Their main dish which is supposedly Lanzhou noodle was not as good as they advocated. I ordered some pork dumplings and their noodle. The dumplings are fine but the noodle hard, the soup is bland. On top of that, the price is outrageous. This place is too overpriced. I don't think I will come back to this place. read more

I tried Aries Noodle and Dumpling last evening for dinner. I will definitely go back again. I wanted to give them 5 stars (and they came very close) because the overall experience was so nice. The dishes were great (ordered eggplant, lamb skewer, dumplings, spicy shredded potatoes), service was great, ambiance was very nice. The only thing holding me back is that their Lanzhou La Mian was a bit underwhelming. I appreciate that they don't use MSG (which is really great and hard to find elsewhere), but the meat and the presentation were not too inspiring and the noodles themselves could have been better. I hope they will consider how to up their noodle game a little and then this place will be an easy 5 stars! read more

I have been to many Chinese restaurants. And as a Chinese, I can tell which Chinese food is authentic or Americanized. I barely comments on restaurant, but I have to say something about this one. It is one of the worst Chinese restaurants I have ever been in great Boston area. The taste of the noodle is terrible, with a price of $12.99, I don't think it is even worth a bite. Went there like 2 weeks ago for dinner and was deeply disappointed. First off, I went in and there's only one customer sitting there and it's kinda like tell you something about it already. It's weird since Lanzhou hand pulled noodles is a very famous noodle dish with tons of Chinese students around, the restaurant shouldn't be empty like this. Like myself, I went after the Hand-pulled noodles. So I ordered a bowl of Hand-pulled noodles and the Homemade Chinese Creeps. The noodles bowl came and it's a clear broth with like 5 thin slides of beef, for $12.99 and that's what I get?!?! Excuse Me?! At Pho1 Waltham which is only a few blocks away, the Extra-Large Bowl of Pho with TONS of meat only cost $10!!! Plus, the hand-pulled noodles isn't hand-pulled, you can clearly tell that's machine made noodles. The noodle soup is tasteless to be honest and nothing to be exciting about. And for the Homemade Chinese Creeps cost $6.99 and extra $2 for adding the meat which comes down to $8.99 for it?!?! Seriously?! An egg cost like $0.12 and you charge $9 for it?! LOL.. I get it, it's Waltham and there aren't a lot of Asian restaurants around but this is just ain't right. And yet, they aren't wrapping up the Creeps at all, so you have to eat it with you hands and it will makes it extremely oily and it's just very very hard to eat. Eating out is about the food but it's more about its eating experiences and unfortunately I felt getting robbed after paying the grand total of $24 with tips just for a bowl of tasteless and meatless noodle soup and a hard to eat Creeps?! I do not understand why they would put the word noodles in their name if they only serve one bowl of noodles that looks nothing like the photo. In the photo on their menu the noodles looks like it had a rich and flavorful broth, The broth was deep brown and I had a whole lot more stuff than what I got my noodles were as clear as water it tasted like dirt and the only flavorful thing about this was the unseasoned skinny slabs of beef. I only comment on the take out "Lan Zhou La Mian"-very little beef, no vegetable, a lot of broth and noodle. The noodle is a little too soft. The broth is ok. But it doesn't match the price $12.99! They either should provide more high quality beef and better noodle (check out the $7.75 " Niu Rou Dao Xiao mian" from Lan Zhou La Mian from NYC) or drop their price. read more

I came here for lunch and was extremely disappointed. The service needs improvement since no one refilled my water or ask how everything was. I had the Lan Han hand pulled noodle $13.99 not $12.99 on the menu listed here. It was just a large bowl of broth, noodle with few thin slices of beef and lightly sprinkled with scallion. The chef special steamed dumpling with fish had a very foul taste. I couldn't even eat it and didn't want it pack up to go for leftover. Needless to say I would not go back again and will just stick to Mulan few blocks away. read more

No ambiance but cheap interesting food. Loved the Chinese crepe and veggie dumplings. The tofu with shrimp was a bit bland. I hope they add more veggie and shellfish options, especially with the hand pulled noodles, and brown rice. But I will be back to try other dishes. read more

Had eaten dinner here once, food was good. Decided to stop in for lunch and were seated and given menus and water. Not busy - 1 couple waiting for food, one person finishing lunch, one family leaving. 3 wait staff congregating around the cashier and drinking bubble tea. Waited 15 minutes for someone to take our order. Another family came in and the waiter took their order. After 20 minutes we gave up and left. Won't return. read more

One of the worst food experiences I've ever had. The chinese crepe was bland - all I could taste was lettuce. The pan fried dumplings are tiny!! It could've easily been frozen dumplings fried up too.
