My cousins, boyfriend and I came to this location to celebrate. It was our first time here at this specific location and it was a good experience! It wasn't busy when we got in, so we got sat down right away. They have the QR code on the table, so you can just open the menu up from your phone which is convenient! We ordered a few rolls, a bento box, and the calamari. Everything was great- the calamari however wasn't the best. It was super chewy and the batter wasn't my favorite. Not worth getting it! The tuna in our bento box however, it was super fresh. It almost looked, fake? Lmao. We had a few sake bombs too! Next time we'll probably do a pitcher and some sake. We didn't know they had beer pitchers. Arigatos is always good and affordable for decent quality sushi! Our server was great also! My husband introduced me to this place and it has become my top sushi restaurant. The place is small but cozy and clean. The servers are pleasant. The few times we've sat at the bar I found the sushi chefs friendly and engaging. We often have lunch here after a bike ride at the American River Trail. Outdoor seating is convenient to keep an eye on our bikes. My husband's typical order is sashimi and I like the bento box salmon and mix tempura. Husband says the sashimi pieces are very good in size and are fresh tasting. With the bento box you can choose from 2-3 options. When I find myself close by the Gold River Area or is heading in that area this is a where I'd go to eat lunch. I don't want to tell you how much I love this place, because selfishly, I like keeping it my neighborhood secret. But to honor what a great business it is, I feel an ethical duty to praise it publicly. The service is always excellent, friendly, and accommodating. My wife always wants to make a custom roll, and they do well by her. If occasionally something is wrong with our order, it gets fixed easily and quickly. The quality of the fish is the best in the area, that I've found. And the prices for that quality are generous. So definitely 5 stars for value. I'm a salmon sashimi lover, and the portions are more generous, fresher, and less expensive than the other two best sushi spots my extended family likes to frequent. Also extra bonus points because the sashimi comes with a traditional element that many Japanese restaurants in California don't offer: a shiso (perilla) leaf, an herb that tastes kind of like cumin, but has the effect of helping you digest raw seafood. We always start our meal with green tea and miso soup, The miso soup is consistently delicious. The green tea is light and grounding; it's served in big mugs that feel so good to hold, with plentiful refills. To top it off, they always have "trainer" chopsticks for my kiddo to practice with. The lady who took our order was nice and I really appreciated her letting my family and I know ahead of time that the wait time was over an hour. We completely understood I mean it was a Saturday night of course they'd be busy. We ended up ordering 2 miso soups, a chicken teriyaki dinner, and 6 rolls: Double Spicy, James bond, Macho, Dragon, Kamikaze, and Volcanic Scallop. Total came out to be a couple dollars short of 90$. I received a text notifying me when my order was ready. The food was amazing. Each roll was super flavorful and the fish was fresh. Such good flavors throughout each piece. We've been here quite a few times and didn't realize I already have a draft review but never submitted it! Smh shame on me lol. Well here is a combine one since we came here for lunch today. I love the location of this Arigato in the nice Gold River area. The staff have been great every time we've been here. The ambiance of the place is very nice I love how clean and nice it is. They have a lot to choose from and we usually try different rolls each other but it's always a must to get pepper fin. And let me just tell you the pepper fin is one of best we've had! Just melts in your melt. :). We also got the hamachi sashimi which was good, the hungry roll was so good it had the fried crispy onions ring, & the spider roll which is delicious as usual. We got the edamame , spicy edamame and the wakame salad and all was fresh and delicious. For the quality of food, service and it's not as expensive, this is definitely the place for one of th best sushi!! I highly recommend this place! Local restaurant in Gold River. This is the fourth restaurant by the same name owned by the same family. They took over the location previously occupied by Salt Sushi which had great food but questionable service. This new restaurant has both great food and great service. Currently, as they are in their grand opening all sushi rolls are 50% off. The venue is very nice; abundant parking, clean, and decorated very nicely with a modern art fish theme to include matching lighting. Seating is very comfortable with both indoor and outdoor seating available. The menu is logically designed and includes both sushi and traditional Japanese meals to include bento boxes which are a big plus for me. I have enjoyed various sushi rolls and bento boxes. My favorite items on the menu include their sesame chicken, chicken katsu, and, the 911 (spicy tuna, cucumber, and mango), and kappa maki. I loved this place in Gold River. Parking can be limited on busy nights, but no biggie. The menu is advertised as 50% off all sushi rolls, which seems to be commonplace for a lot of sushi places nowadays. They do seem to be more reasonable compared to other places nearby with a similar promotion. I think the most expensive roll was $15-16, so each roll only ended up being $7-8? Arigato Sushi has now expanded to Gold River! Located in the space previously filled by Salt Sushi, Arigato is a welcome and familiar addition to the town center. The interior remains tasteful and contemporary, and is virtually unchanged from the previous restaurant, but our experience here was the complete opposite (in a good way)! The menu is the same as Arigato's other locations, consisting of a variety of appetizers, 50% off all sushi rolls, and bento boxes. However, the presentation seemed to be much better here than at other locations, perhaps reinforcing the nice interior - the sashimi lunch (12 pieces with rice, salad, and miso soup) came beautifully plated with thick cuts of fish, which were soft and delicious. The rolls ordered by the rest of my party came on stylish wooden trays instead of the typical plain white platter/plate, and the portions for the bento box were quite generous. The service was on point and was the cherry on top of our visit - our waiter Josh was very friendly and attentive, always keeping our water filled and ensuring our every need was met. He kept good banter going with our group and even brought out complimentary edamame and green tea ice cream for our table without charge! We were pleasantly surprised and appreciative of this gesture. I am very excited that this place has opened up. We now have a triangle that hits every major part of Sacramento. One in Roseville, one in Arden and one in Rancho Cordova! The staff is great. I went there two days in a row and today we sat at the bar. The manager ShinJo, the head chef GunZo, and sushi chef HanZo were all there. I did not know their names before today, but I am glad to say that we are now friends. ShinJo has given us samples of their amazing Sake. This went on for three rounds. There were 4 people working plus 4 of us at the bar and the sake shots were being poured for three rounds on the house! The hospitality is amazing. Never would I thought that they would do something like that on a typical Saturday night. We exchanged our information and the funny thing is that ShinJo asked for our names on a sticky note and sticked it on the wall behind the bar. If you ever see a pink sticky note, you'll now know the story behind it. 10/10 would dine here again. read more

THE WORST LOCATION. We love Arigato and our experience here was horrid. Our estimated pick up time was 7:55 and we placed our order at 7:00. We arrived at 7:50 and waited over an hour in the lobby while they gave several other people their orders on time we continued to wait. It became very clear they never made our order and forgot it and even though we kept asking they continued to ignore us. Received a text at 8:25 saying the order was ready, but when we went up they said it wasn't. We didn't receive our order until 8:55. We do take out to limit exposure and we don't do DoorDash to pay local businesses directly. The fact that we had to essentially sit at the restaurant for an hour while everyone else was maskless (and even under state mandate they allowed people in without masks). Honestly everything would have been fine if they put a more accurate ETA, we just would have come later.
