My husband and I went to this restaurant last night, we haven't been there before. I wasnt sure if I wanted to waste a date night here because the reviews are inconsistent, but we tried it anyway. We arrived around 7 with a bottle of wine. We were seated right away. The host wasn't too inviting, but was not flat out rude. A woman came and brought over an ice bucket. The same host that seated us opened our wine. We waited between 10-15 minutes before the server came over for the first time. He didnt really say hi or anything, just pulled out his pad to take our order. He was the only server on and had about 5 other tables (all outside), so his behavior was understandable. My husband and I started with the pasta fagioli soup and Spiedini Romana. Entrees were the "famous" lasagna and penne vodka. Desserts were homemade creme brulee and chocolate mousse cake. The food was fine. Not the best of anything, but not bad. I really wish the service was friendlier. Again, not really the fault of the server they had on. He was lacking personality but was on his game for sure. Whoever the host was set the tone for our meal and it wasn't a great start. Probably won't be back. read more

Tried the Tuscan steak (aged steak) for the first time here and my oh my! The steak was super delicious and tender. I ordered mine medium rare and I enjoyed every single bite. Linda even threw in an extra potato croquette . I really enjoy eating from Armandos. I suggest you all, try their Tuscan steak at least once (make sure it's medium rare lol). read more

Honestly really great food, but I did find a short black hair in my seafood salad. I told the waitress, and I watched her go up to the hostess/manager and tell her. The manager didn't seem to care and the seafood salad was still on the check. I did really enjoy the food, but that experience is definitely a turn off, hence the 2 stars. read more

Just ordered takeout and was very pleasantly surprised since I find so many of the Italian restaurants in this area so mediocre and heavy. We had the margarita and DaVinci pizzas, Caesar salad and whole wheat linguine. The pizzas were thin crust as advertised yet toppings plentiful and held up when you lifted up the slice. The sauce was not overly salty nor sweet. Fresh spinach and tomatoes were a nice touch. The pasta was so flavorful without being oily. The Caesar dressing actually tasted like real caesar (could taste the anchovy)- very nicely done. Reasonably priced, pleasant service. We will go back and eat in the restaurant next time. In the meantime I look forward to eating my leftovers tomorrow :) read more

Armandos is our favorite restaurant. We are there almost every Friday night. Whether you want to enjoy an authentic Italian meal with a date or a family get together, you will enjoy a great meal in a friendly, family atmosphere. Can't go wrong with their entrees or if you just feel like a thin crust pizza, you will not be disappointed. Or if to happen to feel like something not on their menu, Armando will try to make it for you. My favorites are their veal saltimbocca , spaghetti carbonara and their Tuscan Pizza. When they have their specials, I enjoy their Chicken San Genaro and their Stuffed Mushrooms. My wife's family is from Tuscany, and they are all professional eaters. If you haven't been there, you should give it a try. read more

3.25 Stars, but I will be nice with the 4 Stars as fractions is not an option. They spent a lot of money to build the restaurant with quality materials but it feels like a chain restaurant. The young wait staff is professional and does a pretty good job. The food is ok, thin crust pizza is to thin and the dough is like matzo, clams with crab meat, asked for well done, not... Spiedini was very common, shrimp scampi with rice, tasty but the presentation was like a diner. The woman at the counter handling walk-ins and take out orders could be a little more personable, No, how was everything? thank you for coming? have a nice evening? Perhaps caught her a bad time, but in the restaurant business you are selling an experience not just food and staff needs to go the extra mile to make guest want to come back. read more

Friday night at a local BYO. We went early, just in case the crowd came late. The crowd came early too, but not as early as we did, so no problem getting a table and service with a smile. My bride likes a dish that is not on the menu, but that they have made for her before - chicken breast with Gorgonzola cheese sauce over linguine. The server had her describe it twice, and then delivered the order to the kitchen. They always have mussels on the menu, but one time they had them with a special creamy white wine and garlic broth. So, of course, we ask for them to make ours that way. How demanding are we? But they accommodated our requests and produced dishes that were exactly to our liking, at standard menu prices. We sat, eat, and drank our wine for as long as we wished, and left saying what a great little place this is. Not much to look at, in a strip mall, and cold air comes in when the door opens, so pick your table accordingly. We really like this one! read more

We have been searching for a good pizza place for about a year. Everything we tried was good, not great. We had finally settled on our favorite until someone mentioned that Armando's does pizza. We have been meaning to try this place out because we have hear such great things... About dining there and the entrees, we had no idea they do pizza!! Of course we had to try it out. It was the best pizza we have ever had! Thin crust, coal fired to perfection. The topping selection is great. They have a few on the menu already paired together. We got the four cheese and the one with sausage and broccoli rabe. They were perfect. We can't wait to try all of the pies. We also want to go back and dine there and try their entrees. This is our favorite restaurant in town! The food is genuinely good and the wait staff are all excellent, bar none.

Cramped and uncomfortable tables. Service is mediocre just like the food. Tomato sauce tastes watery and is salty. Lasagna had no texture. Shrimp were rubbery. "Fresh mozzarella" appetizer tasted like packaged supermarket kind. The best thing I can say is my son enjoyed his chicken fingers and fries. read more

Went tonight with a party of 11. Food was excellent, service was attentive. It all went downhill when we went to use the rest room after dinner. Heard the wait staff complaining about us holding them up because "all they are doing is being on their phones." It was 10:15 on a Saturday night and we were checking on our children. We went to Armando's with a group of 10, including a couple of vegetarians. We all enjoyed our meals and the service was excellent. Luckily I had a $25 Restaurant.com certificate. I had the "specialty of the house" linguine marichiare, Nothing too special about it other than the clams were small and fresh., The sauce was a weird brown color and tasted faintly of vinegar. Barely any linguine. Wife had the chicken parm which was nothing spectacular and was a bit spongy. read more

We went on a weeknight for dinner. Ordered Calamari, Tuscan pizza and side order of BrocolI rabe for 2 of us. Calamari had just right amount of crispy coating and tender inside. It came with a sauce which is usually Marinara sauce but it tasted like Puttanesca sauce. It was full of flavor. Yum! Pizza was equally tasty with mushroom and crunchy proscuitto overy thin crust. We even noticed how fresh the red pepper flakes were 'cause it gave our pizza perfect amount of zing. We asked for leftover to be wrapped up and was pleasantly surprised how nicely they were packaged. We will definitely go back and it's even BYOB! read more

This is a classic BYOB Italian restaurant. The restaurant is small and crowded and you should make a reservation! Came here for dinner on a busy Saturday night. We had an 8:30 reservation and had to wait 20 minutes which was actually ok since some friends were running late. Service was friendly and efficient. Don't be swayed by the raves; the food is not good enough to make up for the terrible service. It's well executed, but nothing innovative and doesn't particularly stand out among the many Italian restaurants in this area. First, our server forgot to order my husband's appetizer. OK, it was getting busy and just an honest mistake which she admitted to. When the entrees arrived, she had ordered the wrong dish for me. Again, she did admit this which we appreciated. Thirdly, the food runner, who spoke no English, misidentified my husband's dish when the entrees arrived, so it was sent back accidentally. After we finished and our table cleared, the server ignored us for almost 15 minutes, during which time she served the table two feet away from us at least twice. When she finally arrived to ask us about coffee/check etc., she claimed she "didn't realize you guys were done," which struck us as a bit disingenuous given the lack of food or plates in front of us. When reciting the desserts to my 10-year-old, she actually REPRIMANDED HER for not listening (my daughter had her DS and was acting distractedly). We will not return and are advising our friends to do the same. read more

Went to Armando's with a party of 8 women. Waitress did not take our order until one and 1/2 hours later. Waitress had an attitude and was very snippy to us. I went to this restaurant a number of times and did not have a bad experience until this time. I will never go back there again. The food was not as good as previous times and the manager should have changed our waitress when we complained. My husband and I decided to try Armando's Tuscan Grill while visiting my son who lives it the area. This was probably the best meal that we have had in a long time. We each had something completely different (lasagna, chicken piccata, chicken parm); everything was delicious. In addition, the restaurant was very clean with a great decor. Been here once or twice before, but not in the past year. Decided to give lunch a try with a colleague. $9 special with soup or salad plus choice of entree. Salad was fine - non-descript. I had the meat lasagne which was fine. My co-worker ordered the talapia which was RAW inside. Not undercooked but raw. He sent it back and asked for the lasagne instead. We both chuckled as we heard the kitchen hitting the buttons on the microwave in the open style kitchen. I guess it's reasonable to reheat something like lasagna in a micro but if we heard the beep-beep once we heard it ten times which leads me to believe that a LOT of what comes out of the kitchen is reheated. Service was very attentive. Too many other choices to give this place another shot. read more

I honestly do not understand the complaints of these other reviews. I have attended Armandos at least 15 times, and have NEVER been disappointed. Compared to the other slop house italian restaurants in the area, armbandos serves the typically american italian dishes to perfection. I highly recommend all the chicken and veal dishes. I have recommended this restaurants to many friends, and they have all become regulars at the restaurant. Additionally, the restaurant has a very good recommendation among locals. read more
