Despite the restaurant being nearly full, the atmosphere was relaxed, and we could easily have a conversation. We parked at the DCU garage, walked to Armsby Abbey, and then to the show with time to spare, making it a convenient choice. Service was prompt and friendly. There's a fun young vibe here. We really picked a winner tonight!! Phenomenal selection of lambics and specialty cocktails. They even have a mocktail menu! What!!! My heart!!! They even had a couple of delicious offerings from one of our favorite breweries, Fonta Flora. Our food was ridiculous. If you order the fritters order the whipped feta and smear some on the fritter! WOW!!! We did the poutine add roasted mushrooms. Then put some of the mushrooms on the crustini that had feta on it. Mix and match and you will not regret. The gravy in the poutine is delicious!!! I've been very into sours lately, was suggested one by our server and it did not disappoint. Shared a charcuterie board then each got entrees, I got the green handmade pasta with pancetta on top. My friends and I decided to come here for dinner on a casual Friday evening. We did not have a reservation and was told it will probably be 20 minutes of a wait, but 2 minutes after walking out of the restaurant, I received the text stating that my table was ready. The restaurant is a bit on the louder side, but I liked the ambiance. We ordered drinks first, which took awhile to arrive, before ordering our food. The food also took a long time to come out, I want to say between 15 - 20 minutes after our drinks. The drinks were great! I loved the Dry Hopped Paloma (Tequila, Agave, Citra Hop & Grapefruit Cordial, Seltzer), I usually hate seltzer, but it barely tasted like there was seltzer in it. Their wine/beers list is quite long - lots to choose from! For appetizers, we ordered poutine, 2 orders of bone marrow, BBQ chicken wings, and a charcuterie board with Plymouth Ballyhoo Brie, Jamón Serrano, and Chicken Pate. The poutine was 3.5/5, became soggy really fast. Chicken wings are full chicken wings, with the flat and drum, but tiny little wings, super flavorful. Bone marrow (4/5) needed some salt and maybe a different type of bread. Charcuterie board, the brie came separate with apples, honey, and jam - can't go wrong with that. The meats platter was great as well, came with other condiments that compliments the meat and pate. For entrees, we ordered mussels, Farroto Risotto, and fried chicken sandwich. Definitely had too much with appetizers, so we brought home the risotto (still tasty the next day). Risotto (5/5) had pulled duck confit which was delicious, it was creamy but with a lot of textures with the peas and duck. Mussels (5/5) were made in a creamy coconut sauce with a kick of Fresno peppers (warning: peppers are super spicy if you eat it). Chicken sandwich (4.5/5) was great as well, definitely filling! I will definitely be coming back to Armsby Abbey for dinner another time because their menus change, I want to try brunch as well! read more

We happen to drive through here when we were in need for lunch stop. I quickly found this farm to table restaurant nearby, and I'm so glad we found it. We had 15 mins for order brunch, and we ordered few items to share. Everything was absolutely delicious, freshly made, and fast! We almost licked the plates. Though I do not have the chance to frequent this great establishment; it has always been fantastic each and every time. Today was after checking out the WAM "Jewels of the Nile" exhibit (interesting and okay for this size of a museum). Then a quick run over a few blocks to AA. Once again, superb food (mac & cheese, pork sandwhich, pancakes, German Stout and a mule). Everything cooked to perfection, served expeditiously, very friendly staff. Got there at 12pm and there was already a wait! Sat at the bar without any significant time going by. Staff was busy, and watched the coordinated dance as they moved around everyone while serving. From the hostess, to serving staff, bartenders, etc. All were steady, busy and checked on patrons at regular intervals to see if they needed anything. This is a true jewel of the city and kudos to the owners and workers for keeping up the level of commitment and quality. Have continued to recommend for anyone coming into the area and will be back! When it's good, let the world know. Used to trying out hotels and restaurants of all kinds, it is rare to find such a surprising place. We chose Armsby Abbey in Worcester for its convenient proximity to the Hilton Garden Inn. Lively and warm pub atmosphere, sober wooden decoration, young clientele, we were welcomed by a smiling staff. The cocktails were original, delicious and for once, drinkable (I can't stand the sugar syrup that we are served in most establishments). We enjoyed a Pot Pie and a Pesto Flat Bread. Two dishes in reasonable portions, European style. And above all, gourmet and tasty. And not everyone can surprise the palate of Frenchmen. Overall, a great culinary experience and a warm welcome in a friendly space. I highly recommend it. Small downside, the pretty bar could use better lighting. read more

I've heard great things about this restaurant. Unfortunately I can neither agree or disagree. We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated quickly. We ordered drinks and food within 10 minutes or so. More than an hour after that we were still waiting for food. While the restaurant was crowded when we arrived it was 2:00 and most tables were paying their bill. In short order there were six tables occupied and by my estimation four were waiting for food. It's easy miss this place if you are heading down Main Street, but if you do you are missing a treat. The server was attentive and helpful guiding a novice like me through the menu options. She recommended the IPA-ish Hill Farmstead Excursion beer and it was awesome. Apparently it is made in Vermont and you can't get it anywhere else in the area. They also have several types of charcuterie. Note that cheese is separate so it can get a bit pricey if you want a full plate with meats and cheeses. The pork in particular was excellent, and I enjoyed the sauces included - especially the horseradish. The fried egg chicken sandwich and fries were both good, but note that the egg is not fried hard. I've known about Armsby Abbey for a couple years now but never got the opportunity to come visit. Finally made the trip down for brunch and I will definitely be back! FOOD: we ordered your typical pancakes ($14), waffles ($14), and bread pudding ($9) to share. I was a little worried thinking that the portions might be smaller based on photos I've seen on other reviews, but I was worried for NOTHING. You get what you pay for and the portions are fitting. The quality of the food was superb made with ingredients that blended together beautifully. My favorite were the pancakes as they were thick while still being soft and fluffy. Highly recommend. SERVICE: our server, Cliff, was really nice. We didn't interact a whole lot but did have some idle conversation and he attended to what we needed or did his best to accommodate which was nice. Our food came out pretty fast as well - props to the kitchen - and everyone we interacted with was quite friendly. ATMOSPHERE: this definitely holds a bar like setting. They only have high tables/bar seating available and the low table/window seating is mostly for reservations and those who don't have the ability to walk as far into the space. It's very relaxed and casual, perfect for brunch, date, or meet up. They do also have outdoor seating available now which is also a nice option to have. TLDR just go. You won't regret it. You're thinking.. those Charcuterie boards look awesome, but is it a meal? Probably, no. Not unless you already ate and are just looking for something excellent to go with the world-class draft beer list. We got both the 3-Cheese ($25) and the 2-Meat ($18) boards, and just demolished them. They are as tasty as they are small. The berry puree/compote is over the top. You'll think of this review when you're scouring every last bit out of the cup with the spoon. The mustard, the cuts.. all awesome. Just scale down your expectations if you're used to more loaded boards with meats piled up. You might run out of bread, but that's okay because their side of crusty bread ($6) is something you should have ordered anyway. Good news, though, the other dishes are generous and awesome. The mussels ($22) and curry-like broth was excellent, and you do it injustice if you don't mop that up. Only thing off was the pacing.. hot food came pretty late after the rest was done and crumbs dusted. All the staff was friendly and helpful, and Amina took great care of us, knew it was taking some time. She knows the beers and described them spot-on -- some bangers on that beer list from local and world breweries. Pricing might be normal for the area, but $22 for a flight of 4x4oz beers and the boards can add up fast. read more

So we've been here a couple times. I recently moved here from Philadelphia and in the search for good eats in Worcester, this place was very high up on the list. We made a reservation for a Sunday at 7pm. So after an afternoon at a beer garden that began on the later side (and an order of brussels sprouts and possibly a giant soft pretzel) we came to the realization that we would not have enough gastric room for a nice meal at Armsby Abbey. We called and asked if it would be possible to move our reservation to 8pm. No questions ask, they complied! We arrived at 8pm. The place was initially really busy but during our stay shit started to wind down. The menu of this place is SPECTACULAR. There are a million unconventional and really mouth-watering options. There are both meat and meatless selections available. The drink menu is also appealing. I don't recall specifics other than the fact that I ordered the sangria which comes in a mason jar and was delicious. They also have a thorough beer list. On our first trip, we ordered the hummus plate, mac and cheese, and fries. The hummus was smooth and the pita was warm (a euphemism for piping hot actually) and soft. It's not the best hummus I've ever had but it's standard to slightly-better-than-standard. The mac and cheese is covered in soft croutons and is AMAZING. It's creamy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the M&C. The fries were delicious as they always are. On our second trip, we tried to be slightly more health conscious. We ordered the cauliflower banh mi, housemade pasta, and to start, the horseradish beer cheese. The beer cheese was really quite good. The bread it accompanies is absolutely divine, it's soft but crisp. This is a great appetizer choice and something that is not ubiquitous amongst appetizer menus. The cauliflower banh mi was also really spectacular. The cauliflower itself is purple and with the lemongrass and coriander aoli with pickled radish, carrot, and jalapeno was a conglomeration of really sensational flavors. It is contained within a crisp baguette and is great to share. It came with a side of salad. The pasta was super creamy but nothing really exceptional. This is definitely one of our favorites in Worcester (even though we've been to about 2 restaurants) and we will definitely be back. read more

The cheese selection here looks solid and I plan on checking it out some time. The food menu doesn't appeal to me which is why I've never eaten here. We highly recommend the Armsby Abbey! They always have the most fantastic atmosphere, and the staff is just excellent. The food menu is modest, while the drink menu is sublime. It is excellent as a solo guest if you're looking for a place to enjoy a small bite with a marvelous cocktail, one of the many beers they have on tap, or as a party of more for a night out with friends. You are met by staff who show up with a smile and are ready to help you navigate your senses to the right choices if it's your first time. They always ask if you have been there before, and I love telling them it's a friend's first time and won't be the last. We came here for a friends birthday. They have a really good bar and a great beer list. The reason for the three stars is that they do not offer much if you are gluten-free. Only choices are two salads and the brussels sprouts side dish. I asked if they had gluten-free bread thinking that I could get one of the sandwiches, but all they had was gluten-free pita bread, which would not have been the right type of bread for a burger or a chicken sandwich. I ordered the pumpkin fall salad. There wasn't any pumpkin in it. There was a puree of pumpkin on the bottom of the dish and salad was put on top of. It had a nice flavor, but was pretty much just greens and dressing. I asked the waitress if I could get a side of gluten-free pita bread and she told me that that would be at $10 up charge! $10 up charge for a piece of pita bread is absolutely ridiculous. If I come back here again, it'll just be to have some drinks. read more

We all loved our main dishes! Staff was lovely and helpful. Many of the tables are high-tops and we were glad to get a short table. We came here today with friends who were visiting us from Atlanta. Ambience is very nice but service takes time and Very ok experience in terms of food taste . We started with drinks-beer, mimosa, some non alcoholic ones -delicious! Ordered some plain toast with jam and butter from the starter section. Not bad. I would suggest folks place order from the starter right away with drinks because food service is really long. We placed orders for French toast, chai waffle, side of fried eggs, avocado toast and the one salad in the entire. Avocado toast was salty! Overloaded and salty. When we told this to the waitress she said that's how the chef planned for it to be!! The side of fried eggs was salty! I guess that was deliberate too?! The salad was ok. I have had my share of salads and I will say this was very ok. Chai waffle was good. French toast was ok! Not impressed with the food flavors for sure but ambience, drink menu variety seems great!
