Good food, nice place, nice sports bar, lots of space and lots of tables available as I was there with a large party that meets once a month and takes up the entire first floor area but they were still plenty of areas for other people to come and sit to have dinner or drinks and appetizers and just hang out. The service was really good because our server had 20 or more tables and she did great with taking orders and bringing the bill and other other people delivered the food. I was there with someone who had been there before and recommended the wings so I ended up having wings with Old Bay dry rub over tater tots with two pulled pork sliders. Everything was good although the pork sliders were very very salty. Almost too salty to eat. I ate them but I would recommend to reduce the amount of salt. The Old Bay wings were good although I expected there would be more of them and maybe I should have just had a basket of wings with the tater tots. Anyway all was good service was good highly recommend to visit here and I will definitely be back because they have a vast menu besides Just wings and tots and I'm looking forward to trying other things. read more

Very poor quality ribs and wings that were drenched in BBQ sauce on overcooked ribs and wings. Could not eat the ribs they were so bad. I di eat part of the chicken wings. The server saw I had barely touched my meal and asked if I wanted a box to take the food home. I told her I could not eat due to extremely poor taste. Sever never offered to address the poor experience. Very disappointing experience and disgusting food. Will not be returning. This is not the first time this location FAILED their restaurant inspection. This location FAILED inspections on 02/21/2024, 09/16/2024, 03/31/2025 and 09/23/2025. There were also COMPLAINT inspections performed on 02/21/2025 and 05/29/2025. Here is the text of the latest inspection report from PA Dept. of Agriculture web site: Arooga's Grille House & Sports Bar, 125 S. Centerville Road, Lancaster, Sept. 23. Fail. A food employee was observed touching cooked quesadillas and lettuce -- a ready-to-eat food -- with bare hands; prior violation. Food utensils at the cook-line observed stored in a container of hot sanitizer rather than hot water at 135 F or above. The person in charge did not demonstrate adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this noncompliant inspection; prior violation. Food employees observed in preparing food in the kitchen not wearing a beard cover. Observed clean dish racks stored on the floor in the dishwashing area. Observed containers of food in both walk-in coolers stored beneath condensate that is dripping from the black insulation. Old food residue observed inside a metal food container, the juicer blades, and between the blade and rim of the slicer. I'm actually shocked by these negative reviews. Is this place the best bar I've ever been to, or is it some kind of exquisite fine dining? No. But, is the food still really tasty? Definitely. I tried a few of their items. Their food is a bit more expensive than other neighboring bars, but it's darn good. I tried the Amish pierogis and the cheesesteak with white cheese whizz. The pierogis were absolutely amazing. Genuinely the best I've had in a long time, maybe ever. The potatoes are creamy and the dough is crispy on the outside. The side dipping sauce as a hint of spice and it's also creamy. Way better than just regular sour cream. I would highly recommend them. The cheesesteak was only okay. The chicken "steak" was pretty well made and decently tender. The cheese was a little artificial, but not bad. Bread was also just okay. A little more expensive but a good portion. The coleslaw was pretty bad. Did not seem fresh, to be honest. All in all, it's a great bar in this area. The pierogis were especially amazing. Definitely recommend them! read more

Me and my fiancé went here tonight to get dinner. We got seated no problem the waiter ask what drinks we want, got our drinks. I ordered the chicken street tacos and my fiancé got the pulled pork mac n cheese. Now I asked the waiter does the mango salsa have pineapple in it he goes yes, I said please do not give me that I am allergic. I get my food there was the mango salsa on the side and there was 3 itty bitty pieces of chicken on my tacos, they were cold, bland and just nasty. The pulled pork mac n cheese was cold, they gave us no silverware we had to get up and search for some and they never refilled our drinks at all. I definitely don't recommend this place if you want to come eat. I'm not sure how the bar is but the restaurant part is horrible. I would rather die then go back to this place! Oh yeah that right, I almost did die from this place. From the immature waitress that could NOT comprehend that I have a food allergy, to the manager that wasn't any help as well. Long story short I told them till I got tired of repeating myself and then my wife told them but left there in Anaphylactic shock all the while it taking them another 20 minutes to still give us a bill. I went through e EpiPens and bed rest for two days as they couldn't figure out why my pulse kept dropping instead of going up with the adrenaline. It was a scary moment not only for myself but for my family. Thank God, my son knew what and how to do what needed done. I would give them a zero star but that's not a choice. read more

In town visiting family and almost didn't come because of reviews, but we ere thrilled! We sat at the bar and the bartender was attentive, friendly, and helpful. I have gone here several times each varies in service quality. Mostly though the service is good and they deliver your food quickly if you are in person. If you try to call them good luck they rarely answer at all. Online ordering is good too, easy pick up as well. As for the food I ordered wings, chicken burgers, and fries before. The food is pretty good especially when hot. I personally am a fan of their wings and their sauce options. The restaurant is usually clean but like all sports bars music and TVs are blasting. Let's be honest - people come here to watch sports, not for a phenomenal meal. But there are other sports bar options that have both, and I would recommend most before Arooga's. Fat Pigs is my favorite locally, but I'm out voted nearly every Sunday and we end up here to watch football. The good news is that the menu literally has every fried fare and drink imaginable for a bar, so there's something for everyone. There are even a few salad options that aren't bad, and chicken fajitas, which were delivered in segments to our table - the sizzle plate, then the toppings, and eventually the tortillas - but were ok. The wings are ok, but I recommend sticking with the bone-in versus the boneless. They're served with soaking wet carrot and celery sticks - so if you want edible veggies, stick with the salads. The bad news is that the food is almost never really cooked properly. Part of that is probably because I'm only there Sunday afternoons, when the place is packed and the kitchen is slammed. Also, I believe it's easier for a kitchen to excel at meals when there are fewer options on the menu. 50ish entrée choices? Expect anything but perfection. I've stopped ordering the burgers because they tend to be over cooked and the cheese takes on that plastic look and feel. The servers are generally kind and attentive, but I've yet to experience a service without an order mix up, food problem, or drink issue. And when you're there for about 3 hours for a game, you're likely to get all three. read more

We attended as a large group (about 26 people). The restaurant was extremely accommodating. We were able to have the entire upstairs to ourselves. Our waitress was Kelly. She was incredible. Apparently they were understaffed for the evening but she was able to handle all of us by herself! This was an impressive feat in itself but she got every order right, too! I've been out with large parties in the past and it's inevitable that with so many people that there's an order that is missed or wrong. But, not with Kelly! And on top of it all, the good came out extremely quick. So, impeccable service (give Kelly a raise!) along with accurate, prompt, and delicious foods, this was the perfect venue for our team dinner! This establishment charges their customer's a "take-out" fee if order your food to go, which is utterly ridiculous. I told the employee that I wasn't paying the fee and walked out. The food is mediocre as it is; I'm not sure why the owners and/or management find it acceptable to charge a fee to customers for the luxury of taking the food to go. I have been here three times now and each time the service is pretty lousy. Between long wait times for food and waitresses not paying attention to refills or even getting silverware, the only thing that keeps bringing me back is the food. So far each visit the food has been prepared correctly and has tasted great! We had gotten the buffalo chicken pretzel which had a good flavor and "crisp" to it, and it was not really spicy, which was nice for me. I had gotten the cubano grilled cheese, which I guess is new on the menu, I was suprised I liked it as much as I did. Yes, it was just a grilled cheese but the pork and pickle just gave it great extra flavor. My boyfriend had gotten the ghost pepper burger, he loves spicy, and there was a few bites I could tell were even hot for him, but he really liked the flavor and that it was cooked as requested. I have gotten a stromboli here in the past and it tasted pretty good also. If the service of this place would get itself together, this would be a much better place to visit. read more

I have been to Arooga's a handful of times. Personally, it's a bit pricey for the amount you get and the quality. Regardless, it's fairly close to our church and we have chosen to come here after a bible study a few times. Service is usually pretty quick, depending on the size of the group. I was slightly disappointed that it was $3 for one scoop of ice cream, but I guess you have to make money somehow. It's a convenient location, but we won't likely be back very often. read more

By the time she came out to take our drink orders we told her we were ready to order food since we had 20+ minutes to look at the menu 5 times. She came back out and didn't remember where any of the drinks went without direction. Our party orders; the bacon cheeseburger pretzel (it was on the special menu) sliders and onion rings. Cheesesteak Stromboli, wings and fries. Buffalo chicken Stromboli sun buffalo for Nashville hot sauce, pierogis and mozz cheese wedges. Mostly appetizers. Shortly after getting our drinks the food runner came out shaking a basket of sliders asking who's they were. Like a beggar in the street shaking a coin cup. Then the onion rings come out a few min later. So one person in our party is eating and we're dumbfounded as most of the other foods were appetizers. Then the wings. Buffalo Stromboli and perogis and mozz wedges about 15 min later. Most of it was Luke warm at best and I say buffalo bc it didn't come with the sauce I asked for. Then the bacon cheeseburger pretzel came out as a cheeseburger on a pretzel bun. Wrong again. We asked for the manager. Bc at this point one person in our group didn't even have his food yet. We contemplated just canceling his food and paying for what we had and leaving. But then it finally arrived. Also luke warm. The manger was going to take off %25 of each check. We get the checks and they're messed up. Some food was added to the wrong bill and it was a nightmare. He says he's going to take off %50 of our bill but never fixed the food on the wrong check. Two of our group paid cash and left, even with the wrong food on their check. They had enough. The remaining couples gave our cc's wit the receipts they handed us and had to wait another 10 or so min only to see that he switched the cards and checks and charged the wrong people the wrong checks. We just up and left at that point. Didn't care about fixing The checks. Just left. We will never go there again. Sorry for the long post but it was horrible. Never had an experience like that ever. The server never checked on us. Asked if we wanted any more drinks or anything. I wish I could have stopped the few people that arrived after us. If I could give 0 stars I would. If you're understaffed you need to make sure the people there are actually good at their jobs. Not just bodies. The manager was awful as well. read more

As I write this, there are 140 reviews giving this place 1 1/2 stars. That seems like an appropriate rating for this restaurant/bar. The atmosphere is fine. Lots of TVs inside for the sport's enthusiast and a very nice outside deck featuring fire pits in the center of large tables. The staff is friendly and even on the worse days, the food arrives in a reasonable amount of time. The problem with this restaurant is the food. It is terrible. I've eaten there on a few occasions, each time hoping the food will be better than the last. I've given up hope and don't plan on returning. Last night the sliders were like miniature salted hockey pucks. No kidding. How do you screw up sliders? Even my son took one bite and put it down - and he eats everything. The room temperature Amish perogies were mushy and flavorless. Last month's chicken sandwich was just mediocre - nothing special. I get it. This place makes its money off the sports.
