Came here for the first time with the intentions of eating vegan. They had some solid options the faux wings were some of the best fake wings I have had. Wow. This place is an absolute shit show! They're operating at 40 minute wait times minimum when you get there to pick up your food. Service is not even a thing. No one is around to greet you, ask who you're picking up for, or to check on you. Phone is ringing off the hook with no one to answer it. I witnessed a guy ask how much longer he would wait after already waiting for 40 minutes for his burger, and the short skinny blonde who walks in and out of the kitchen said, "too bad, we are giving orders out in the order of which they came in." What a pleasant surprise going here yesterday with some customers was. This was my first time to Arooga's but definitely not my last. We had the deep fried banana pepper appetizer which was great. The flavor and spiciness was very nice. I was amazed with the choices of burgers on their menu. I was so tempted to try the donut burger but got the bacon cheddar on a pretzel bun. It was delicious. If I had any complaint it's that there was too much cheese on the burger. (I'm lactose intolerant and can eat only a small amount of dairy without feeling sick ). One person in our party had the grilled cheese with a burger. It was actually 2 large grilled cheese sandwiches as the bun and then a burger and fixing in the middle. I've attached a picture of it. I don't think he will have to eat for days now. If we didn't have to go back to work we would have tried some different beers. There is a very nice and large collection of them there. Never had a bad meal here! This place is (of course) known for their wings, but everything else on the menu is just as great! I'm picky when it comes to potato soup, & Arooga's by far has the best potato soup I've ever had. They also have meatless wings for vegetarians and mark all their rubs/sauces if they're gluten free or not. I'm also obsessed with their strawberry daiquiris! They never card me (I am 21) so I'm not sure if they've served people who are underage, but I definitely do not always look of age, so I have four stars instead of five. read more

I was excited to see in the near future Arooga's would be opening in Coatesville as there is nothing in the general area. So when we were shopping in the Lancaster area today we decided to try Arooga's on Centerville Rd, our first ever Arooga's. It had a decent sports bar atmosphere with lots of tvs. We sat at the bar and ordered apps while watching some college football. Service from the two bartenders was very good, friendly and efficient. The food , eh. Ordered traditional wings in the Louisiana Garlic and Hot Sauce. The flavor was fantastic but the wings were the smallest I have ever seen, they looked like frog legs, actually I've seen larger frog legs. Also had the Cheeseburger sliders. They were okay, well, less than okay. Small and dry, not at all juicy like a burger should be. Last, we had the Amish Perogies which were the best of the three apps for value and flavor vs cost. The beer list was decent although I would have expected to see more local beers. Comparing to PJs which is more local to our area, the atmosphere isn't as open and inviting. Service was equal, quality of food was equal, taste was equal but value was less. So all in, not so excited any longer for the Coatesville opening in 2020. read more

I use to come here all the time when they first opened and they were wonderful. Well not anymore. Went here to grab some food before I went bowling and was sat down. For 30 minutes my friends and I were ignored by our waiter who was waiting all the table around us but ours and continuously walked by I couldn't tell you how many times without acknowledge. He also would disappear for long periods of times and randomly reappear just to continue ignoring us. We called another waiter over who said they will get our waiter which took another ten minutes. We were there well over two hours waiting for our waiter and food. However, when we did get our food it was not made to how I ordered, it was soaked in grease and oil while my friends food was the same way. I felt rushed by our waiter who always ignored us and didn't care about our needs and would just walk off without us finishing our sentence and had to waste over half my food because of how utterly disgusting it was. Back in October I stopped in at 12 pm to placed large order of wings for my son's wedding rehearsal party that night. I asked them to make  sure that wings were ready at 5:30 pm pick up time because we were having Pizza and wings.   The manager assured me it would be ready at 5:30. She said not to worry because she will personally make sure it is ready.  We stopped in to pick up our 100 wings at 5:30.. Guess what???? They forgot all about it. Had to wait another half hour until they made our wings. They offered no discount for the huge inconviece.  All our guest had to wait over an hour.  How embarrising for me. read more

Okay, I thought I did not have to do this but now I realize I have to write one more review and this will be my last one. I will not set foot into this place again if there would not be any food left on this earth... so I might, in that case, die of hunger but not from any food related illnesses. I hope this review will get someone's attention and something will be done here. We ate here today and we ordered pretzel dogs for the child in our party. One would think that it is fastfood so it's deep fried or oven fried. One would also think that the kitchen staff would know what the temperature of the food needs to be, for it to be cooked thoroughly and per food specifications. One would think all of that would be required when running any kind of food service or food establishment. I must be mistaken. The picture of the pretzel dog will clearly show the inside of the pretzel was not cooked at all. It was slimy cold dough. The bacon on it was cold, the cheese was not melted and the hot dog itself was only warm. I leave it up to everybody else to draw their conclusions. After calling the manager she said "I am sorry we'll bring out another pair of dogs" ..no thanks not necessary. We ordered a plate of their famous "deep fried" COOKED chips, well let's say one more time..one would think the cooks would know...some of the chips were not cooked through.. how much worse can this get.. we asked for the check... at this point I did not want to deal with anything else but pay and get out of there. Wouldn't you know.. the BAD PRETZEL DOGS were taken off the bill, but we had been charged for the chips we ordered instead. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. My tip... find a manager that knows what it takes to run a business that serves food and is familiar with the food requirements before someone gets sick... Maybe beer and alcohol will kill "bad things in an adult stomach" but when you are serving food to children you want to pay special attention to their wellbeing!? We just happen to be there while a children's birthday party was taking place. So parents be aware. This will conclude my final review of Arooga's. read more

Since my initial review we have been here several times, each time things seemed to get a little worse. On more than one occasion we had to send food back - either it was overly cooked, had hair in it, or was undercooked. I still like the variety of their menu and for the most part think this place has potential but some serious training needs implemented in their kitchen which seems to be the problem. Although.....service also has been hit or miss. It seems like there is a lot of people working here, and many can be found huddled in a corner on their phones or goofing off. Management take notice! Aroogas has the shittiest bar service I may have ever encountered. If you ask Megan what type of rub the garlic Romano is, she won't be able to tell you, because she's never had it before. If you wanna know how many wings are included in the kids meal, she'd "imagine about 5 or 6".... After I leaned in to ask her if she just started, she informed me that No, she didn't just start, But she's a bartender and wouldn't know anything about the kids meals because she doesn't know "what goes on out there".. (Which I'm assuming she meant in the server world, out from behind the bar) She showed us she was very attentive (not) by allowing empty glasses to sit 10 minutes at a time as we impatiently waited for her to stop chatting with another bartender and come our way so we could wave her down... Only to take our order while digging something out of her eye with her fingers and occasionally scratching at her nose or bare chest. No, Megan. You are not a bartender. You do not belong behind a bar or even "out there". I'm not sure where they get these people, but Aroogas needs to carefully select people that meet the qualifications for a busy bar environment and properly train them. Personality, skill, awareness and knowledge of the business menu should be key. All in which Megan lacked. I am a bartender. I can be very critical when I am the one being served; as I have high expectations, considering I am very good at my job. However, It was a horrendous experience and I will never go back. I had dinner at Arooga's with family last night. We had a large-ish party of 8 and called ahead, so we didn't have much of a wait when we arrived. It's a sports bar, so there are TVs basically everywhere that you look with various games and programs on. They also have an interactive trivia game that you participate in via a tablet at your table. If you were ever at a Damon's prior to them shutting down, this is very similar. We started with wings (with the original hot sauce), and they were great. Plenty of sauce, and the amount of heat was just right. They give you celery and carrot sticks on the side, but our order came with basically two sticks of each. Our waitress did bring more when we asked, which we appreciated. I had the jalapeño lime fajitas. The onions, peppers, chicken, and shrimp are served in a sizzling skillet topped with a spicy sauce. You're also given sour cream, jalapeño slices, cheese, salsa, and tortillas so that you can build your fajitas. The portion was huge, with enough "supplies" for five fajitas (couldn't finish them). Overall it was okay, but I wasn't blown away by the flavor. Oddly enough I enjoyed the chicken and shrimp more when I tasted them alone without everything else. Maybe the flavor was just lost among everything else. Overall, not bad and not great. I did really enjoy the wings and would get them again, especially with all of the sauce options offered. read more

Worst lunch ever. We stopped in early on Mother's day, arrived about 11:30 am. The restaurant was not very full. We ordered an appetizer of their cheese fries (which were excellent) it took over an hour to arrive. From the brunch menu we ordered omelets and an egg sandwich. These took an hour and a half to arrive. The waitress was very apologetic. Drinks were ordered with our appetizer and we had to ask a second time for them. Looks like my bad experience last night is par for the course. Stopped by for drinks and appetizers around 9:30 pm, so it wasn't a peak time. Our waitress was cold and annoyed when we weren't ready to immediately place our order. A simple order of wings and a quesadilla took over 30 minutes to be served, and we had to hunt down our waitress for drink refills. In addition, the place looks and feels dirty. Our seat had stuff on it from previous customers. Our waitress gave us dirty plates - one had melted cheese still on it. So gross. Let's start off with the positives shall we? I ordered the full rack of ribs and french fries. Both were very good in my opinion. Ribs were tender and the thicker cut fries were seasoned well. $4 draft beer special was an IPA and that was good. A good beer and definitely good price for an IPA.2 out of the 4 bartenders were attentive so I can appreciate that. The other 2 never said hello, hey, how ya doing nothing. Not a huge deal for me but if I am grading this from a customer service perspective then it counts. So now for the negatives other than the customer service rip above. I'm guessing with the amount of TVs in there one might think of Aroogas as a sports bar yes? Well I went in on a Saturday early evening to watch the UFC prelims and main card. I called first to verify if they were showing the fight since it's now college football season. They assured me they were and the sound would be of the fight. WRONG !!!!! I got there at 7:30 sat at the bar ordered my food and beer pulled out my phone ready to snap chat & instagram my food. (no judgement) So back to the TVs I counted maybe 30 or more TVs which none of them had sound. Instead was jukebox music and even that was faded. I was able to hear 3 or so more conversations behind me word for word. I asked the manager who came out to stock the bar and he said they were not putting the sound on for the prelims because of football. Ok I kind of understand it is football season but guess what. They never put the sound on for any of the games either. Instead it was the same faint sounding crappy music blended with other people's conversations I had no business hearing. I'm pretty sure one of the conversations I heard was about a foot rash and why they can't wear shoes. Really either you are a sports bar or you are not. No sense in having all those TVs with no sound I feel like you're just running up your electric bill. So I ate closed my tab and went over to Buffalo Wild Wings. You guys notice the bar wasn't as crowded that night for the fight? It's because my 16 friends who were meeting me at 9 met me at Bdubs. Too bad because I really like the food and beer.... read more

The food is just plain bad. We ordered Buffalo chicken dip, chicken and bacon quesadilla, Nashville hot chicken sandwich w/ bacon cheese fries, and the funnel cake sticks. All of it had a weird chemical taste and was very bland. I'm just disappointed in the quality of food bc it looks great looking at the menu, but the taste is lacking. Menu is great, food and beer selection are pretty good .... But the service continues to completely suck.... Can't blame the kitchen or bar for lack of attentiveness or poor table side manner (or forgetting to bring beverages and silverware then acting like its a bother that I asked about it) .... On this particular trip I was about thirty feet from the patio door which meant I was basically in the smoking section as there is no buffer zone... All in all my meal was not enjoyable despite the food being good and it is increasingly unlikely that I return even though it is one of my kid's favorite places... Went to aroogas on 2nd St in Harrisburg last week and came to this aroogas today and the difference is worth a review. Lancaster aroogas has the driest chicken wings I have ever had with barely any sauce. My friend ordered wings aroogas style and there was nothing arooga about it. Every wing was dry with barely any sauce. The Harrisburg one had huge wet wings with a lot of sauce that made me enjoy everything I've come to love about aroogas. Please fix the Lancaster location to match the Harrisburg location. Please and Thank you!!!! Need to add to this review after waiting 20 min for bartender to acknowledge our existence. After to check we decided to walk out and then that caught the attention of the bartender in which then we were accepted and we paid.....bad experience this time around.... read more

Aroo..... Aroooo.... Arooog... 'cough'. I can't get my horn going for this place. Start out with talking about the food you say? Okay. I already had dinner early, but had to try their wings. Good assort of flavors, so decide to get Jalepeno Lime. These suckers come out like the top of a sauce jar lid accidentally fell off and the sauce person didn't see the misses in a couple of weeks = full blown sauce load all over these 10 wings. They were swiming wing knuckle deep. The flavor was good with background heat ghosting up, but I had to ask my buddy to pass down some napkins to wipe the excess sauce off... since the napkin containers by me were empty. Drinks (beer). Ok, the easiest thing to stay on top of when you are a half empty bar with 10+ tenders going behind the bar. After my first drink it took almost 20 minutes of an empty glass sitting there to get another. Bartenders walked directly by me at least 17-68 times. They were too busy cleaning the bar at 11:00pm, even when they close at 2 a.m. The guy that started serving us took the spill mats away right in front of my empty glass without blinking an eye. Update-once again good service and happy about the hours. Perhaps I have just lost my taste for crappy American bar food. I tried the wings again, this time asked for extra crispy, and still had mushy wings. STOP BAKING YOUR WINGS! FRY THEM! I also tried the pb&j burger which was good but not an ounce of me believes it is fresh Wagyu beef. Also the martini I had was huge but way overpriced for the whole 1 shot of vodka it had. Thanks for the $12 cup of juice. Will only be back to watch sports, never spending another dime on food. I love that they are actually open late. My friend and I like to watch basketball and the games usually run until midnight or so. Most "bars" in Lancaster close their kitchens by 10pm!!
