Customer service is terrible at the Highland location. We order from them regularly and something is always wrong. Recently, topping have been wrong, forgot to give us our rolls with our pasta, tonight we ordered a stuffed pizza and was given a thin crust. When I tell the girl over the counter she just shakes her head. The phone staff is rude and rushes to get off the phone. I can forgive a mistake occasionally but it's far too common. My family and I used to order from here often but recently ordered a large order of pizza, chicken, fries, and zucchini and four desserts cakes slices and I get home and realize they didn't give me my slices. When I called Arrenello's they told me yes you legt them .., ahh no they were never given to me! I even asked the staff is this everything and they said yes. Great food, if you can ever get through to them. All their websites say they close at 9:30pm through the week and 11:30pm on Friday and Saturday. They don't take orders past 8:15pm during the week and dont answer the phone after 10 on weekends. Only reason I am giving them 2 stars is because of the quality of the food. The overall service is horrible at this location, and something needs to change fast, or expect to keep losing customers. If your hours say you are open to a specific time, then be open or change your hours. Last order at 8:15pm is ridiculous!!! read more

I moved to Florida from Chicago 4 years ago and I miss Chicago pizza so much. Every time I come up to visit, I get Arrenellos Pizza. Their stuffed pizza is amazing!! And the desserts are so yummy and fresh. Last night I got a stuffed pizza with spinach, mushrooms, onions, and sausage. Totally worth the wait for them to make it. This is absolutely by far my most favorite pizza EVER!! I always order their deep dish pizza, extra sause (its super sweet!) with chicken sausage and light pepperoni. Ordered the Fettuccine Pasta with mushrooms and Italian Sausage sandwich. I called it in, an employee called me a few minutes later and informed me there was no more sausage. Ordered an Italian Combo sandwich instead. It was supposed to come with fries and a drink and they didn't give me my drink. I paid $11 for the pasta and it tasted and looked like a frozen TV dinner that was microwaved and then served to me. Absolutely no flavor, it was disgusting. There are way too many things on the menu, that means everything is frozen. I heard the pizza is okay, I think if this place focused all their energy and sold only pizzas they could be a good place. The thin crust pizza is not good. I like sweet sauce, but this is sugar sweet. Crust is like a soggy, too thick cracker - bad texture. And was greasy. Would never order again. They get 2 stars for the Italian Salad though - nice veggies, crisp lettuce, and good Italian dressing. I've been eating here for about 17 years and maybe a couple times a year. The staff has always been kind and once when I brought an expired coupon they gave me a current one. They've given me the wrong pizza a few times but they've always offered a free one in its place when we call to explain. I give Arrenello's four stars but only because of price. The pizzas are very thin so it's hard to justify the price of their thin crust. You pay $27 for a family size with one ingredient. But their flavor is unmatched so sometimes one is willing to pay more to get it. Typically we get the stuffed pizza because the pricing makes more sense for how much food you get. If I pay a lot of money then I want to be full. Even though we get the stuffed pizza, the amount of sauce can sometimes be overwhelming after a few slices (maybe I shouldn't eat 6 of them). So that's why we only get it a few times a year first because of price and second because it can be sauce flavor overload after a few stuffed slices. read more

Arrenellos is everything you'd expect from a hole-in-the-wall pizza joint; small pick up area, nothing fancy, no bull yet friendly staff, and a quality pizza. Arrenellos uses a sweet sauce and it's no secret, they advertise this on their menus. If you are craving something sweeter than Aurelio's or Gelsosomo's pizza (reviews to come), then this will definitely be your spot. Disclaimer: this is definitely not for everyone. At least with some of my family, they either love it or hate it. Although I did not necessarily prefer the extreme sweetness, I can appreciate the well executed product. The first bite from the outside is overwhelming with the sweet sauce where it is not balanced with the generous amount of cheese (aka the area where the cheese separated from the crust shown in the picture posted). However, as I moved inward toward the center, I found that the sweetness subsided and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The cheese has a nice smooth melt that's not too salty, but enough to balance the sweetness of the sauce. There is quite a bit of sauce on the thin crust, as well. Pepperoni was pretty standard and added flavor, while the sausage chunks were about average in seasoning. Crust is semi-crispy flour-based that still held its own toward the center pieces. Overall, I like that Arrenellos sets itself apart from other local spots and takes pride in its unique flavors. This will be added to my craving list; not necessarily a "go-to spot", but one that I'll revisit when I have a taste for it. read more

My favorite pizza place in northwest Indiana! The sauce is so sweet it's addicting! The thin crust is really good but their deep dish pizza is better than any Chicago pizza by far! The pizza is more expensive than other take out places but it is worth it because there is no comparison! There are a few coupons on their website if you want a few dollars off. Also on weekends it can be a little busy so it might take as long as 45 minutes for your pizza to be ready! I would definitely recommend trying their pizza! read more

My daughters graduation party was tonight, we ordered a stuffed crust, and a thin crust , fried ravioli and cheese sticks...the order showed up 30 minutes late, after I had called to check the status. They were just warm enough to not complain about. The ravioli and cheese sticks were smashed, sauces cup burst open making all of them soggy with the unbearably sweet sauce. The Glenwood location is still superior. The crust on the stuffed is too thick in Highland and I have tried it numerous times. The sauce is the best part of the pizza Nice and sweet! I have ordered and picked up from the Highland Location many times, then I call to make a carryout order and the people who answer the phone tell me the Highland Location had a fire last Wednesday and that the order is going through the Glenwood Location. I tell them I am not going to pick up from the Glenwood Location, the man tells me it is only 7 miles away from the Highland Location, I start to tell him forget it I will order from somewhere else, so he then tells me that they will deliver it, Now, I have ordered from the Highland Location and know they do not deliver to my location, that is why I always did carryout. So I questioned him about them delivering to me. But, he insists no, it is ok, what is my name and address, I tell him, and he tells me OK, it will be 1 hour and 20 minutes, due to ordering a stuffed pizza. So, 2 hours later, when my pizza is nowhere to be seen, I call the same number back and I am told by the lady that,"Oh, we tried to call you back, the guys that answered did not know we do not deliver over to you, when we tried to call the number you called from we called the number that showed up on the caller ID and the lady that answered that said she did not order a pizza." I said no one tried to call me, I was then told that they did not call with a 708 area code which is the number I called from, my cellphone, but they called my phone number with a 219 area code saying that is what showed up on the caller ID. I never mentioned my phone number when I made the order, they only asked for my name and address. I questioned the lady that was telling me this saying that is impossible, if I am calling from a 708 number how could 219 come up on her caller ID, She went on to tell me "That is the number that came up, even the owner saw it." Now, come on,how if they knew that they messed up the area code why did they not call the right area code, OBVIOUSLY when I called back THE SAME 708 AREA CODE SHOWED UP ON THE CALLER ID, so they put 2 and 2 together and that is when they realized they called 219 instead of 708, instead of saying it was their mistake, she continued to tell me "No, that is what came up on the caller ID, 219." They kept trying to make it like it was my fault that their employees made a mistake. So I told them they have lost a customer, and that it is no wonder the other place had a fire if this is how the employees are. So, after hanging up with them, I ended up ordering Papa Johns, No problems. I would have just left it at that and never ordered from ARRENELLO's again and would not even be on Yelp making this review. UNTIL, the next day, I get a phone call from a lady saying she is the owner, first off you could tell she had an attitude already. She questions me about what happened and I tell her exactly what happened, then she questions me about did I have a confrontation last night, I ask her "Like what?" She goes on to ask me if I said no wonder the fire happened at the Highland Location and did I THREATEN THAT THE OTHER 2 LOCATIONS ARE GOING TO HAVE A FIRE! I told her NO!, I told her that I said no wonder the Highland Location had a fire if this how the employees are. She goes on to raise her voice at me and tell me "HOW RUDE WE ARE TRYING OUR BEST." Now, I am pissed off, first they act like it is my fault they made a mistake, then I get a call THE NEXT DAY asking if I threatened the other 2 locations. So, I raise my voice back and tell her "THE EMPLOYEES ARE IGNORANT", So, she yells back at me "DON'T SAY THAT ABOUT MY EMPLOYEES, I start to TRY to talk over her since now I am pissed, THEN she tells me "I LET YOU SPEAK SO YOU WILL LET ME SPEAK". I told her "I DO NOT HAVE TO LET YOU DO ANYTHING!" So she then tells me" WELL, NOW YOU ARE JUST ANGRY SO THIS CONVERSATION IS OVER." and hangs up. We had an order delivered, and the pizza was delivered 30 minutes late and cold. The pizza was smeared all over the packaging, and was tasteless. After being put on hold for about ten minutes, I finally spoke with the manager. Never have I spoken to a more rude and careless manager in my life! She kept cutting me off, and even YELLED at me. Disappointed beyond belief. Arnellos was our go to, living for years in Glenwood but hadn't used the Highland location till last night. I will not be going back. Kev's beef sandwich was almost inedible with so much salt you could not taste the beef. The bun was burnt on one side. The chicken wings were beyond edible with so much bbq sauce it made me wonder what they were hiding. Could not eat them. Onion rings were tolerable.
