I'd had the same stylist in my hometown my whole life, so this new person had big shoes to fill. Over three years of seeing Lauren, she has my complete trust. I've been going to Patty for monthly cuts since Dec 2018 because she's so good at what she does. My hair grows fast and is difficult to cut due to weird growth patterns, but Patty takes the time to listen, make good suggestions, and then cut skillfully. I have been a client of Ngoc Nguyen for the past 4 years and I can't imagine letting anyone else work on my hair. He knows exactly how to balance his creativity and my conservative approach with hair and always does an exceptional job. He listened when I said I wanted something a bit more edgy, not the bob that stylists usually end up giving me. So I followed her to Arrow. It was my first experience there. It's open space with lots of light is very inviting and casual. It's situated in an old Victorian at street level. When I sat down in the chair she asked me how I wanted my hair cut; I told her she was the expert, and that she should do what she thinks would work well. Needless to say, she killed it. I got my color done by Olivia~ and let me tell you , it's easy to mess up my color. Not only am I very picky but my hair always turns orange or has been damaged in the past . I have darker hair but like.to be super blonde. She was able to give me exactly what I wanted ! Olivia asked me a lot of questions and found out what I liked and didn't like which made me feel so comfortable. I feel like we were on the same page and she really understood my style. She even gave me some fun ideas I might try in my future reference appointments . The service itself was very professional , her application was very clean and didn't get color everywhere (like stylists I've seen in the past ) Olivia is such a warm and caring person it's was easy to relax around her and have a fun time. After we talked color we talked about the different festivals we would be going to this summer , It was like we instantly became friends ! The salon itself is tucked away in the mission near my boyfriends house so it was easy to get to after my Bart ride from work. It's also close to some good restaurants and bars. I would book on a weekend for a good excuse to go out with gorgeous hair! The space has a earthy vibe to it and tall ceilings. The other artists there also a seen to be chill too and I didn't feel like I was being judged or watched like other places I've been. I will definitely be coming back to see Olivia and sending all my friends to her too!!!! read more

I have been getting my hair done by Patty for at least 2 years now and have never once left with a bad cut or color! I like to change things up fairly often and she has taken me from blonde to red back to blonde all the while maintaining the health of my hair! She is great with cut too, I can give her a fairly vague idea of what I want my hair to look like and she somehow manages to make sense of it - I always leave with my hair looking even better than ever. I have tried soo many salons since moving to the city almost 3 years ago, and I finally found the ONE. Patty trimmed my hair and created beautiful, shimmering blonde highlights which really brightened my face. My hair feels so much healthier from the trim, but she didn't take off too much length...just the dead ends. The space itself is really pretty and peaceful, and Patty took the time needed to make my hair perfect. I have to say although I have only been to her twice, I already know that Patty will be doing my hair for a while. Patty is knowledgeable and just knows good hair.
