Worst service and products offered ever! Ive been a (stupidly) loyal client for many years, and this was the final drop! After spending thousands in products they recommended for the house, water filters and boilers, all ended up being trash products that broke down and me habing to pay hundreds more for repairs! They gave their backing to these so called 'best' products on the market, and they have all broken down and the companies going misteriously broke!! Horrible customer service. Our gas disposal started leaking so we called the dispatcher at 8:00 PM to schedule an appointment during my lunch break for the next day. The appointment was between 12:00-2:00 and I told the dispatcher to come closer to 12 since my lunch break doesn't extend until 2:00 PM! So I went home, had lunch and waited from 12:00 until about 1:30 PM at which point I decided to call to check on the status. Well it turns out the plumbers were too busy on another job and were not even close to coming to my house. If they had told me this would be the case, I would've went back to work at 12:45 PM. This was very unprofessional of them to inconvenience me this way. I had used ARS in the past but never again, they lost my business. read more

Ok - I have had good technicians from Rescue Rooter - always thought they were just a "bit" pricey - but I had even signed up for their "preferred customer program" where they flush your water heater every year and check out your sinks, etc and give you a supposed discount on fees and charges - I was all in, Baby. All was good for two-three years - then I needed a new recirculating pump (old one burned out - note to self - when fixing main water line to home, turn OFF pump since water will not be flowing). Anyway - called "my" company as a preferred customer. Plumber comes out - on time - looks at job and quotes my wife an $850 price to replace it. Mind you - I have a return line and an already installed unit - just need replacement, no original work - just needs to be cut, soldered and sweated in. Maybe an hour of labor....my wife calls me at work and I tell her no freaking way - I can buy the same Grundfos pump for $200 from Amazon and no way is labor $600. She tells him no - he offers a $75 coupon - I tell her again no way. He tries to leverage, saying we'll have to wait for the other company to come out, make an estimate - big deal so we run the hot water for an extra 4 minutes. Shows her the price list on pumps, "Some cost $1000" - not. She sent him packing. So I call PLOTKE Plumbing (Encinitas CA 760-632-0461). Ask the customer service lady her estimate on the job - she tells me with an existing pump it shouldn't be more than 60-90 minutes of labor and the pump will be about $225 - they go by time and materials and labor rate is $90 an hour. Gives me the option to buy my own pump if I can find it cheaper and they will install. Figured why bother they are only $25 more than amazon. They come out two days later - takes one hour - and all is good. Total charge - $324.30. $500 less than Rescue Rooter. I ask they why Rescue Rooter was so expensive - gave her the price they quoted - she was shocked (Shocked, I tell you!) and here's the reason: Rescue Rooter Plumbers are CONTRACTED - they have to pay the company a certain fee per job (depending on what it is) and then THEY GET TO KEEP ANY EXTRA MONEY THEY CAN CHARGE! REALLY????!!! So this guy comes to my house in a decent neighborhood (homes are from 700K-950K) and JACKS me for nearly TRIPLE what the time and labor guys charge? Holy Cow. Not for me. So when they come to flush my water heater this June as part of my already paid annual contract - and I will let them, for they are competent if overpriced - rest assured they will not be getting my business again - and oh, I cancelled their contract for our 20,000 sq ft office and lab building as well - and gave it to PLOTKE. I can't believe I didn't check yelp before calling them. Shame on me. Their prices are insane. I paid $390 to have the connectors on the water heater replaced. I could have bought a whole new water heater for that price. Then on top of that it took the plumber and accountant at the office about 25 min to figure out how to run my credit card. Our main sewer line backed up on Thursday night (July 4 was on Saturday - my plumbing always knows when the holidays are!). I started calling places on Friday morning and quickly discovered that my normal go to people were all taking the day off...so I googled plumbers (getting desperate) and chose ARS because of the add $69 for one drain cleaning. I called and was scheduled from 10-12...oh goody! Being able to flush a toilet never sounded so good! Gabriel arrived at 12 and opened up my dual sweep clean out...and using his auger and camera had the line flowing in about 15 minutes. I love those cameras! So I was watching! Now I had just had the whole line checked by another plumber who was only there to check the line ( not talk me into anything) and the lines all looked great...for 60 year old cast iron, to 17 year old abs, to 60 year old clay...he felt we had at least 10 years left in the cast iron. Why am I telling you this??? Because I was now looking at my pipes again and at one point I actually wondered if he was showing me a video of some really bad looking clay and cast iron! Of course there is a fix for the cast iron (for only $15,650 I can have it spin-coated)...the clay was what concerned me ( that's where the plug was) so I called the city (they take care of the easement plumbing in my city). They sent someone right out, and we decided since the line was open and working we would wait til Monday to look further. Monday: the city crew comes out and cameras the line...magic has occurred and it is back to looking like my first camera-ing. Only bad news from the city was that I need to add a clean out on the city easement for them to service the line if it needs it in the future (when I put in the abs I was told "not to touch the city side"...would have been nice to put in a clean out then...you know, when I had 20 feet of my front yard all dug up down from 2 to 6 feet). So what did my adventure cost? $69 right? One line for $69, right? Nope! I paid $298....but I can flush the toilet! I did not question it at the time, I just paid! My boys took showers, I did laundry and washed the dishes, and yes, we flushed! But then my neighbor said I really should warn others...so I am! By the way, Gabriel was great! I give him 5 stars for being clean, friendly, and knowledgeable---but I think something is wrong with his camera! read more

Our guest bathroom toilet was flushing slowly and we had guests coming over so last Tuesday night I called and received an appointment for the following day at noon. The two plumbers arrived around 1145am and went to work on the toilet. It only took them about five minutes to diagnose and "repair" the toilet. For the next 45 minutes though, John and John attempted to sell me some sort of electronic waterline de-mineralization treatment... According to them, my fresh water pipes were full of white crusty build up and my family was at risk since we bathed in it and possibly ingested it while brushing our teeth -- Oh dear! But for only $1800, they could blast the pipes with ultra high frequency sound and rid our lives of these pesky mineral clogs. Whatever. Anyways, about six hours after they left, the toilet began to flush slow again. ARS offers a one week warranty on their labor, so I called to schedule another appointment. The never showed on Thursday since they got busy, but on Friday afternoon, one of the Johns showed up and finally fixed the john! Four stars since it worked, but lay off the lame scare-sales attempt. read more

$2000 dollars to fix a main line pipe after I dug it out and found the leak for them. Took them 2-3 hours maybe $25 in parts, so that's over $650/hr. I've spent less on lawyers. They seem to do good work and we're courteous enough, but what a scam. read more

I called on Tuesday to make an appointment for Wed morning. The person that set the appointment specifically said 8am and that's what I wanted, the first appointment in the morning so we could get the problem fixed and I could be on my way to work. I waited at home until 8:20 and left. At 8:40, they called me and said the plumber was on the way. I told them I thought the appointment was 8am, that it was too late and to have a supervisor call me. The supervisor called me around 9am and said the appointment was for 8-9am and I said no it wasn't, it was specifically for 8am. The supervisor all but told me it was my fault for getting the appointment wrong. They wanted to reschedule and offer 10% off my next service, I told them I'd go with a company that can set & keep appointments and my time was worth more than 10% off. DO NOT USE THEM. Wife made an appt today (23Mar17) for them to check a drain. She called around 8:30 and they said between 9-11. Then they called at 10:30 and said they'd call back in an hour because they were running behind. They called her around 11:30 and said they'd be here at 4pm. At 4:25 they called and said they're on their way. It's nice to see their consistent after all of these years. read more

I wish I could leave ZERO/ NO stars..... I contacted ARS because of the brand and reputation. I thought a big company like this would be the most legit. My two story home was experiencing plumbing problems so right away I called ARS because I figured the issue in my home would be resolved the RIGHT WAY. Ohhh no was I wrong. It's become a NIGHTMARE! They drilled a hole in my garage and even destroyed the floor, along with the concrete that leads into the garage. I was skeptical when I saw them drilling but figured they knew what they were doing. When I returned home due to having to leave work early because my roommate noticed the workers were lounging in my backyard; I noticed the workers were packing up, yet none of my sinks, tubs, toilets AKA The MAIN ISSUE I HIRED THEM FOR, was still clogged and now gunk/ hair/etc... was beginning to come out of the tub. In other words, nothing was fixed, I was still at square 1: still couldn't shower, toilet, sink. When I asked the workers why I still couldn't use my bathroom their only answer was it's going to be another $4500-$7000 on top of the $8,700 I was already paying. Beware of this company. I should have ran to Roto Rooter or better yet hired a non licensed worker, I bet they would have done a more professional job than the destruction I was left to clean up. read more

I have used them for service in the past. The work was always reliable but it was never cheap. My last episode had this plumber try to charge me $3300 to remove and install a new tub. Really? I priced tubs and they would not spend more than $500 I bet to get my replacement. Wow! Okay, I will get a top of the line tub for $1000. Add parts, maybe $1100(I doubt it cost them past $500). $2200 for one guy's time for the work. He offered no tile work. If you have money to burn, you will get good work but this last episode really exposed them for being rip-off artists along with having serious price markups. Update: Getting softer with age, I will add one for the quality of work to two stars overall. The pricing is the only reason for such a low rating. Would be tops if it was more friendly of an experience. I did not get that feeling. More like I was inconveniencing them. read more

Unfortunately had a bad experience with ARS Rescue Rooter over the last two days - one that started as positive but quickly became negative as it progressed. Firstly, I'd like to say that the tech, Chris, was courteous and responsive. This review isn't for this but for the supervisor and for the company's practices of which I'm going to share here. Yesterday morning, we had sewage backing up into our bath tub in one bathroom and standing water in the shower in the other. I called ARS because I saw they had a $69 drain clearing special. They were responsive and polite and had the tech, Chris, out looking at the problem less than two hours later. The clog in the main sewage line was detected, and I was told it was "not a big deal" and that it would be addressed quickly. Apparently a few minutes later, the supervisor showed up, and the situation was described as much worse than previously thought. The main line had cracks in the top and was "partially collapsed". All the sirens went off and I was told that they needed to start work right away to the tune of $8200 to do a spot repair, replace the sweeps and the excavation that all entailed. Furthermore, they were adamant that the main sewer line was on "borrowed time" and quoted close to $15000 to inject a CIPP liner into the line to repair it. Total estimate: well north of $22000. The supervisor laid on the sense of urgency thick. I agreed to have them address the sweeps and excavation first, because I was worried we wouldn't have water, and that I needed to think about the CIPP due to the high cost. Today, I had not one but two other plumbing companies tell me not only could they do the same job for a fraction of the price, but that the ARS guys had done the job with the sweeps incorrectly. (They didn't use the right fitting, and refused to acknowledge as such.) I immediately sensed that something was not right and I called ARS and provided a written cancellation of my contract with them. Had I not made that cancellation, they would have returned and filled in the hole with the work incorrectly done, and I would have owed them another $7400 on top of what I already paid. Chris came back out and was polite enough about the cancellation. But then his supervisor showed up, and they handed me a bill. Despite having paid them $800 already, they said that I had a balance of $2500. In short, that means I paid $3300 to have them clear the clog (legit), camera the pipe (also legit) and dig the whole down to redo the sweeps (yes, also legit). HERE'S THE PROBLEM: the work was done incorrectly, and they refused to acknowledge it. Had I not cancelled that contract, they would have just come back, filled the hole, and I would have been on the hook for the entire $8200. There's a BIG difference between ARS being more expensive than other plumbing companies and being unethical. They clearly don't stand by their work, and were clearly upset that I actually got a second opinion on a $20K+ project - oh, and for pointing out that they did job incorrectly, and charged thousands for it. $3200 to clean out a clog, camera it and dig a hole? I'm sad that Chris refused to acknowledge this - who knows, maybe he was pressured by his Hard Sell Supervisor? If I was simply quoted a higher price and paid more, that would not warrant a one-star review. ARS RESCUE ROOTER DOING THE JOB INCORRECTLY AND LITERALLY BURYING IT DOES. It was straight up unethical. Further, the whole strong-arm-$2500-on-the-back-end...yeah, that didn't help. And at the end of the day, another company has to come back and fix what they incorrectly. I am thankful I called around and found ethical companies to do the work ARS wanted to gouge me for. PLEASE get multiple estimates before projects like this! An expensive lesson learned... read more

Before you know it, your job is weeks long when it should have been 3 days, if that, with any other plumber and your original amount quoted on first day turns into thousands in 5 days before they even get into it. Really, I think I was extremely taken advantage of, and I was. I was way over charged. Rip off company. They came late, left early and had to make sure they had their lunches and smoke breaks. Over abundance of show ponies for the little job it was and each one acts like a supervisor. Work is left to do for the next day.. and next day... and next day... you get my drift. We will never use nor recommend ARS for any service! When we called for A/C service repair, we thought we were contacting the company who installed and previously serviced this A/C - ADC Comfort. We found out only after the problems with ARS that ADC Comfort is out of business. Not sure how we got directed to ARS, they either bought out ADC's client list or they are the service provider on contract with Home Depot (where we bought the unit). They are not competent in the area of A/C servicing and repair!!! The technician arrived to find the unit was devoid of freon. This is a unit not even 6 years old, and - in San Diego - is used maybe intermittently for 2-3 months in a given year. Instead of (1) wondering and investigating why a 6-year new unit is devoid of freon and (2) recognizing the unit is still under warranty... the Technician just filled the unit with $400 worth of freon. We were also gullible enough to be sold a service maintenance plan for another $120. We didn't need to use the A/C until the following week when it ran, and ran, and ran while the internal temp kept rising. We called out ARS again because we are now "premier" customers who get priority attention... only to discover that $400 worth of freon was GONE. Hmmmm... perhaps we have a leak? Shouldn't that have been the technician's FIRST clue before adding the expensive refrigerant? How much of the environment was damaged by this oversight & mishap? How much of my hard-earned money wasted by this incompetence? How much wasted time did we endure through the service mishaps and subsequently having to hire another company to find & repair the leak? All the while, San Diego got hit with an unusually long, high-temp, high-humidity heat wave that was intolerable - for us and for our dogs! ARS gets one star because their management did acknowledge and accept their error. They did refund the full amount we paid. But, the residual effect of their ineptness with A/C service & repair cannot go without notice and warning to others who might choose them for service. We opted to go with West Coast Appliance Services, Inc. and couldn't be more satisfied with their service and value for the price. read more

I am livid right now! Have a leak on the tankless water heater. We called around 1:00 and the representative confirmed someone who was certified to work on tankless water heaters would be here between 4-7 and would work with our home warranty company. They did call to say they would be late and showed up around 8:00. First the technician said they could not work on it because they didn't install it, but could sell us a new one. I showed him a receipt for $1400 where their company reinstalled it 4 years ago because the tech refused to work on it because it was "not up to code" (too close to the wall). He quickly shined his light on the receipt and said he was going to take pictures and get someone here to work on it. Sorry.....I thought that's what he was here for!!!! I shared what was told to us when we set the appointment and he said he was only the night supervisor and couldn't work on it, there was no way anyone could repair it tonight since parts would need to be ordered. They called me from a request on Angie's list. I was interested because they could have someone out here within 2 hours on a Sunday and offered a military discount plus a free assessment. The person on the phone was very nice, but the guy who came out, Alfonso I believe, tried to tell me that he didn't believe the problem was my faucet handle, but was either the valve or the cartridge. I insisted the problem is the handle but he insisted it was not and said all the things he would have to do to find out. I'm a real estate broker who has been in business in San Diego since 2006. I always strive to have a great pool of different tradespeople available to recommend to my clients. People who are honest, ethical and care about the best interests of my clients, rather than themselves. I learned that a friend of mine had their Air Conditioning break at their rented condo. They called their landlord who asked them to arrange a quote. ARS was the company who came to take a look, after my friend contacted The Home Depot looking for a referral. ARS said there was "an electrical problem" and the entire unit needed to be replaced. They quoted tiered costs of $12,000, $16,000 and $19,000, depending on the quality and volume of the unit being purchased. I should also add that my friend is a woman and it seems very possible, though I can't know with certainty that a male rep from ARS was seeking to take advantage of her financially. Anyhow, the landlord, like many people couldn't afford those prices. My friend obviously wasn't going to pay that amount to replace an air-conditioning unit at a property she didn't own. I referred her to my best AC vendor. He's a nice man, he is scrupulously honest and is hardwired to innately look out for the interests of others rather than himself. He came out to inspect the situation and found that a transformer had gone bad. He replaced it for $180, and now the system works great, just as it did previously. That's a savings of up to $18,820 or over 99.4%! ARS is either incompetent or predatory and neither of those are acceptable. Now, you're well-informed. Isn't that awesome? Oh, and if you want a real estate broker cut from the same cloth as my air-conditioning guy, just Google my name and add the words San Diego Real Estate. But the very primary purpose of this review is to call out ARS. What they tried to do was shameful. read more

I live in Sorrento Valley (the date that this happened is not the posted date). I believe this happened when my husband was out of town in July 2008 in Vegas. This evening I came home to my garage full of water. I tried to sweep out the water as quickly as I could more water would gather up. After stressing out I called my mother and right away she told me to call the fire department. She said they have pumps to dry out the water. So I called the fire department to rescue me. They showed up fifteen minutes later, with the sirens blaring (imagine me wishing I was in Hawaii so my neighbors weren't out there gawking at my situation). Luckily it was almost dusk and I think they were too busy with their TV's to come outside. After the fire department shut my gas, and hot water off they said I'd need to replace my water heater which was 9 years old. I called Home Depot, WOW! I couldn't believe the price on those units (over $500!!). In addition the employee in that department mentioned that there were also "other" fees associated. I was told that I would need to get a permit, yes even if I'm just replacing it, Then there was a disposal fee, and a labor fee... in other words I could expect about $400 in addition to the purchase. Not to mention parts that they don't reuse so that means more charges... I hung up and let my finger do the looking in the internet for help. This is when I came across these reviews and decided to call. I had to hit the 3 for the transfer since it was outside of normal hours. The person answering said the business name and then asked if I could hold. She had a young female voice to that of a teenager, I assumed that she had more personal things to talk about rather than taking my call first. After a while on hold I gave up and came to the conclusion that they had no intention of taking my call. I figured they would return my call but that didn't happen either. FORGET CALLING ARS PLUMBING... I ended up pricing these units around and finally bought it at Lowes in Mission Valley since they had some kind of special that Home Depot wouldn't beat. They offered installation (at a cost, of course) and I also had to pay for the city permit. YES, the city will send you a letter in the mail to set up the appointment about a month later to check the technician's work out. After that they will tell you either it passed or it didn't and sign off on it before they leave the premise. This technician that Lowe's contracts out with was one of the best! I had initially ordered the wrong unit size and he ended up taking it back and getting me the one I needed. He was patient and dealt with the whole situation like a saint. Make sure you go out and read what it says on the unit before you go pricing them to order one! Don't just assume they're all 50 gallon tanks! Some don't have enough clearance in the space provided. You may want to measure the space/opening too just to verify the new unit will fit. I was really happy with the job he did. He suggested that I buy the water pan to put below the unit too (don't get cheap). After the city inspector came I passed with flying colors. The total cost of the unit, parts, work, etc was about $730 OTD at Lowes. Good luck to those of you with your water heaters nearing their end. Talked to ARS Plumbing re my kitchen drain on the 2nd floor. They sent Vincent out the next day. He was supposed to call 30 minutes prior to arrival. he never did. Luckily I saw his truck pulling up and he called that he was here. He came up and introduced himself very pleasantly. We went to the kitchen and he shined his flashlight under the sink and took some photos. He explained that he needed to remove the trap and part of the piping to get to the problem but they (the company( would not guarantee any leaks after the clean out and putting the pipes together. I found this very strange but agreed to the work. he did a write up contract and I had nearly a heart attack when I saw the charges of $289.00. That was almost 4 times the $69.00 add I had printed out from the ARS website. I declined and he left. This was a classical "BAIT & SWITCH" so I would recommend that ARS Plumbing - if you decide to call them - is considered with care. read more

I requested service and they told me they would be at my property within 2 - 4 hours (between 10am-12pm) later but never should up and finally received call at 3pm to tell me that they we're not able to show up and requested to come the next days. read more

I called them by accident, thinking they were the ones who snaked our main line in 2010, but afterwards remembered they were one of the ones I'd called back then, and didn't use because they refused to give me any prices over the phone (not even for a basic snaking). The plumber was clean, neat, and friendly, and very thorough. He did a professional job, spending over two hours. However, they are extremely expensive. They charge $500 for what others do for $200, and try to upsell a "whole house" package. So, I'm not sure how to rate them on balance. read more

On Thanksgiving weekend all the toilet and tubs backed up in my house. Water started dumping out of my sewer cleanout so I knew that my line is backed up. These guys were the only people working that weekend that I could get in touch with. They sent out a technician named David who arrived much sooner then anticipated. He assessed the situation and ran a snake down the line to clear up the blockage. He recommended calling a supervisor so they can run it camera down the sewer line to see if there was any damage. I agreed, and David put a call in the supervisor. A gentleman named Tony arrived about 15 minutes later. David and Tony were really great, they were very honest and friendly and provided great customer service. After completing the camera inspection, they spoke with my landlord explained there was some damage done to the sewer line they needed extensive repairs. The cost of the repairs was substantial, so my landlord asking that they leave the footage so they could have there regular plumber take a look at it. My landlords have been using the same plumbing company for over 20 years. They trust them greatly and wanted to get there opinion on the damage, before shelling out the money for any repairs. Tony talked on the phone to my landlord and they both agreed that Tony would either drop off the film or leave it with me that day. Tony said several times it was no issue to make a copy of the DVD and he would be able to drop it off within the next week. It has been 3 weeks since I had service and they still have not dropped off the camera footage yet. Ive called this field office several times now, each time they tell me they will contact me but never do. Today I called and was told I had to pay for the footage before they would release it to me. This was never discussed at any point between me and Tony or David when they were here at my home. They have no urgency to get me this footage because they know that I'm not going to use their company for the repairs. I am grateful for the work that they did in the time that they did it and the customer service was great, however the customer service I have dealt with since then has been complete garbage. I would only use these guys if you have an emergency that needs to be solved immediately. read more

I generally don't post bad reviews. I just choose to never do business with them and call it lesson learned. However, my experience with this business was not positive at all and I need to warm others. I must say that every one I dealt with was courteous and nice, that's not the issue. It went wrong when I called to have someone look at a slab leak. I was told they needed to come back the next day and bring a device that would locate the break. The price for that was $615. I later learned that is way over priced. They located the break and the estimate to clamp and reroute the line was $19,995. I was told that it was on the high end but the quality was worth it. I chose to get a 2nd estimate. The 2nd plumber contracted a leak detection co. and that ran me $270. The leak was not in the same exact spot ARS told me. The plumber then did the work for $1650. Beware of this company. The difference in estimates is outrageous, not to mention the leak detection cost difference. My conclusion is that they tried to rip me off. read more

This is the first time I've called for any plumbing services. It made sense to call Rescue Rooter since they offer 24/7 services. It was easy to make an appointment for a free evaluation over the phone. Dave is awesome! We had a broken hose bib/leak on the side of our house and he was able to fix it just the way we wanted. He cut a clean hole in the garage and when he was finished he patched it right up. He did such a clean job. He also lowered the overall water pressure for our house in the same appointment. This was something my husband and I were planning to do later, but he decided to take care of it since he was already there. The price was pretty good for all he did. I booked an appointment 3 days in advance on my day off and they gave me a 8-9 window... They called me the day of saying they had some wrong info and they would arrive at 9:10. At about 9:30 I called to see where my technician was and they said he will not be there till 10. I just canceled... You need to respect people's time because you may only get one time to acquire business and your reputation is all about the experiences of your customers. I have a fair experience with ARS. I call on Sat for a clogged kitchen drain, they indicated they were extremely busy so i asked for an appointment the next day. On Sunday they contacted me and said they are running behind and extended the planned arrival time. Then at 5pm they contacted me again and said it would be hours before they could arrive, so i rescheduled for Mon. On Mon i had to call them to find out when the technician would arrive. I was given the same excuses of short staffed, running behind schedule and not sure when they could arrive. At this point 3rd day of same excuses was getting very frustrating. They said i was a priority call but could promise when someone would be out. They then referred me to the GM David and told me he would call me back in 30 minutes. David never called me back and another assistant GM called 3 hours later. I advised him this customer service was very poor and i am concerned with their staff knowledge if everyday they run behind on their jobs and make appointments that they never can achieve. At 5pm on Monday a very nice technician arrived George and he did a great job and told me that the visit was complimentary. Long story short, once they made it to my home the job was handled very well, but everything else really was unacceptable service. read more

Uggh. Why didn't I check Yelp before calling these guys? The plumber they sent to my house was not a problem solver, but a problem maker. He negotiated a price with me to fix a washing machine valve. First of all, why do you need to negotiate? Just tell me the estimate. Then he consistently said it was going to be more complicated and more costly than expected. I had the job done by a competent plumber for half the cost ARS quoted, and that was before ARS would have jacked up the price even more. Eventually after wasting my time for over an hour, he said I needed water remediation before they could start and he referred me to AFC Flood and Fire, which was a total waste of time as well. They estimated the cost at $3500 which I eventually had completed for less than $500. AFC lowered their estimate to $3100, and then to $2500 with no new information. Makes you wonder what the real price should be. I think ARS only stays in business because of people like me who forget to check Yelp. They are now on my DO NOT USE list. read more

It's interesting that of all my reviews on Yelp, this is the only one that has been flagged "not recommended". And in fact, nearly every review of ARS/Rescue Rooter that is flagged "not recommended" is a 1-star review. And there are well over 100. Hmm. Mine wasn't flagged when I wrote it, just since sometime after ARS's response. I had scheduled an appointment 24 hours earlier, the day before, For an active leak under a sink. I woke early that morning to a voicemail stating they had canceled my appointment due to emergencies calls. When I called to question them about it they said the soonest they could see me would be two or three days from my initial appointment. This is terrible customer service and I will never use them again. read more

Worst company ever: *After purchasing a sink garbage disposal at Home Depot I asked for the number of their plumbing vendor. *I scheduled an appointment for Sunday between 8-10 am. By 11 am no one had showed up. I had another appt. at noon, so I rescheduled for Monday between 12 pm - 3 pm. The plumber finally arrived at 4:30 pm and wanted to charge me $635 for the install. *I went back to Home Depot, told them what happened, & this time paid to Home Depot $179 for an installation. *I thought I would be hearing from a different plumbing company, but to my surprise it was ARS who called to schedule. I spoke with Freddy, a supervisor, who basically just blew smoke up my but. *I rescheduled for Wednesday between 10 am- 12 pm. *By 11:45 when I hadn't heard from anyone I called ARS again. This time I was told that they do not have an agreement with Home Depot. If I wanted an install I would have to pay their outrageous fee and they wouldn't be there till 7 pm. It took them FOUR DAYS TO FIGURE THIS OUT!!! *BOTTOM LINE - UNRELIABLE AND OVERPRICED. read more

Don't bother. We made an HVAC appointment with them a week in advance. They called on the DAY OF the appointment - an hour AFTER they were scheduled to arrive - to "reschedule" for the following week! When I told them how unprofessional this was and how I had rearranged my schedule for this, they transferred me to a supervisor who started with, "what had happened was..." Made an appointment with ARS a week in advance for a service of our AC unit. The night before my appointment, they never called to confirm, so I called them @ 5 p.m. They said, yes, we're confirmed. We will be there tomorrow at our scheduled time. I get a call at 5:45 p,m. cancelling the appointment. The lady on the phone said since our service was not an "emergency call" we can't service you tomorrow. We have to schedule you "next week, and no we can't come later in the day or the day after. We're an emergency service company and your service is not an emergency." This is so unacceptable. You can't depend on them. They will call you the eve before and cancel on you and make you wait another week. Where's the customer service? I would never use these people ever again. Don't use these people. They can't be trusted to! They are the WORST! read more

We had a main sewer line blockage. Another plumber earlier in day found the problem but didn't have equipment to clear the line. I called ARS Rescue Rooter, and they sent Javier out who worked in the dark to clear the line. He also stayed to make sure the line was flowing freely. I will call Rescue Rooter first in the future. Don't use them. I was trying to make sure the problem they suggested is the cause for my bathroom clog before i schedule them to 5000$ worth of work they gave estimate. The guys comes and say i need to pay again to run the camera for the same problem they came twice within 3 and half months. from Feb8th thru June 13th. And the manager comes and says to me looks like you are using me , These guys are not only professional they need training on how to take to customer. He is telling me i am using them for the work i paid 400$ 3 months ago These guys are really unprofessional. Company need to fix it if they need business. They lost my business. read more

I appreciate you, ARS, trying to manage your "online brand" by showing "online concern" but in the real world your service was larcenous. I called headquarters and they showed concern about the situation but it's been two weeks since the incident and they have yet call me with resolution. I have called multiple times. ARS was awful on-site and has done NOTHING after the event to make it right. Unless you consider offering me a couple off future services making it right. Awful service. I feel was completely stripped off. I paid nearly 10,000.00 $ and was promised to never have problem again, two years later they I called them again and they showed up without takig any responsibility over their previous work and guarantee. presented me another bill of 11 thousand dollars.
