I ordered the veal parm, which was solid: well cooked, flavorful, and executed at a high standard. No complaints on quality. The issue is more about value than anything else. The biggest drawback for me is the structure of the menu. Pastas are all sold separately, so if you're ordering something like veal parm and want pasta on the side, you have to essentially add a whole additional dish. At a family-style restaurant, I get the concept, but it makes it less practical for smaller tables. For two people especially, it's not the most natural setup unless you're both fully aligned on sharing everything. It feels much better suited for larger groups. Great food and ambience with generous portion sizing to match the price. Came in on a Saturday around 6:30 without a reservation and was seated immediately. The food came out so fast I was shocked. We waited longer for the bill than the food. The hostess was fabulous and fierce. Love that diva. Very cute vibes inside. I want to know where they got all of the Pizza Hut stained glass lights!! Iconic. The bread was really good with an unexpected sesame seed bottom! The marinara was a little watery if I'm being honest, but the meal was still delicious. Two people could easily split a main entree. For it being a spicy rigatoni alla vodka it could have been spicier. Both of the drinks we ordered were made well. I also found the pricing to be very fair for what you're getting and where you're getting it. Special shoutout for tap water on the table in a carafe. Dimly lit restaurant with gorgeous decor! Was able to walk in on a weekday evening and get a table without a reservation. The waiter was friendly and gave a lot of suggestions which was helpful when deciding what to eat. The portions are generous, so would recommend starting with less and then adding more as you need. Everything was great, but a few notes: - The food came out VERY fast. Within what felt like 5 minutes of placing the order, the entrees were already at our table. - Quite overpriced.. $20 for a glass of wine and over $30 for one pasta dish. Was it tasty? This location has only been open since November. We had previously been to the West Village spot. The manager, who was also the hostess, was very welcoming and attentive. This location has lunch specials that we heard about on social media. I was excited to try the meatball parm sandwich. It came on a seeded roll and hot melting cheese. The sandwich did not disappoint. Our waiter accidentally put the order in as a chicken parm. They made the correction and actually comp the meal which wasn't necessary. The mozzarella appetizer was excellent and full of mozzarella cheese. They don't skimp on the cheese which wasn't necessary appreciated. The manager explained that they were still in a soft opening mode and things were still being worked on. We were the only customers in the place but we got there right at opening. I believe the experience at the West Village location is better; however, this new location needs to be given a chance. Can't wait to come back sometime when it is up and going strong. read more

Maybe the place is all hype... maybe I didn't order the right things. The service wasn't the best the pasta was mediocre, the meatballs were that wonderful rustic and old school, made at home sort of meatball. I wanted the veal but we got the chicken piccata and the sauce was good. The waitress mentioned how the portions "are so big that they don't come with anything else". This was not the case at all. This was not a big portion of piccata by a long shot, I could go to the pizza place down the block and get a bigger portion for less money, the same with the rigatoni and it would have more sauce. The Cavatelli was thick and the sausage was too spicy for the dish, & spicy rigatoni wasn't spicy. The only real good things were the bread and oil, the Pizza Hut lights over the bar, & the meatballs but those were small and $30 for three. The place just opened and ran out of matchbooks already too so I'm a little bummed. I really wanted to love this place and I'd get those meatballs again in a heartbeat, I'd like to try a veal dish or chicken parm but I don't know if I'll rush over there at these insane prices. Anything of value is high 30-40$ for plate of pasta. Way over priced and nothing to rave about. Desserts are high teens to 20s and nothing special. A side was $15. Stay away food is not authentic and quality is not there for the price. Service was just okay, nothing fancy, they up charge you for everything for olives in a drink to minor substitutions. Just don't come here. It's pretty terrible and overpriced to boot. Picture a Times Square tourist trap relocated to Murray Hill and you'll have this restaurant. The spicy rigatoni was not spicy, and the peppers served on the side of the fried calamari were the best things in the dish. I relocated a few to my main course to provide some flavor. The worst dish was likely the fusilli alla limone which was supposed to be topped with burrata but had been so overworked that it was a ball of mozzarella -- I cut into it with my spoon expecting the liquid to seep out to mix with the pasta but it was just cheesy chunks. Well first of all I went to Open Table to make a reservation for 2 at 7:00 it showed no opening for that time. So I took a chance and went there anyway hoping to get a seat at the bar. When we got there the place was 70 percent empty, Very large bar completely empty I mean no one was at the bar Saturday night. So we took our seat at the bar and waited patiently as our bar maid made her way from the other end of the bar to take our order. My wife had a glass of wine 17.00 dollars ok not bad I ordered a kettle martini. Now on the menu martinis price was listed for 20.00 dollars still ok it is New York but for some reason I was charged 24.00 dollars for my drink. That I think is a bit much and didn't see that until I got the check. We had an appetizer and a pasta dish which were ok nothing special considering the prices that they charge. So now I get the check and see the 24.00 a little shocked. Give the young lady my credit card she comes back with that kiosk thing with 22% tip highlighted. Service was routine nothing special either. But here is the thing that also got me to write this review, The 22% tip was put on the total bill. They take it upon themselves to tip on the tax also. Now I know tipping can go either way tip before tax or total with tax. But I feel that should be the customers choice not theirs! Please let me know in comments if anyone agrees. read more

The service is somewhat good. We might have come on a night that they were understaffed. But after hearing so much about this place. The food is not worth the hype. The cacio e Pepe was as dry as the table clothes the chicken was under cooked and rubbery. The Sunday night pasta dry their appetizers were good Again the bus boys were probably the most attentive although they tried to make it better but I don't think that 2 hours is justifiable for pasta. I even offered to go the kitchen and help them cook. I cannot believe I wasted a Sunday night eating at this place. Be careful just don't expect too much. It overpriced Italian, unfortunately like most places in the city. It's basically a restaurant with the hotel guest as a captive audience. We were looking forward to eating here. We spent around 45 minutes from entering to basically getting pushed out. Our waitress seemed annoyed and kept rushing us, literally took my plate with the appetizer I was still eating. She checked in on our table once, asked if we were doing okay and asked if we might be needing boxes. We had just gotten our entrees maybe 10-15 minutes before and since the portions were big enough to share we knew we would probably take some home. We said we would and before we could tell her anything else, she took our plates. She then dropped off our check and kept circling us to get us to pay. Meanwhile, the table next to us that had been there eating before us had a much different experience. The waitress was laughing and chatting with them, recommending food and drinks. It was the complete opposite experience for us. I did notice she drank from one of the water cups on the table so I assume she knew them and that's why she treated them better. The restaurant wasn't even busy, I believe there were only 2 other tables seated before us. It was quiet and seemed nice at first, but we were greatly dissatisfied and disappointed as our friends had recommended this place but all we got were watered down drinks and a $150 bill for a meal we barely got to eat. read more

The environment and service was fine, and the artichoke appetizer was decent, but the gnocchi and eggplant Parm were less than mid. The eggplant Parm was really thin, dry and lacking moisture. And the gnocchi, had kind burnt taste to it.... kind of tasted like canned or jarred tomato sauce that wasn't even done up. There are much better options to go to and this place really needs to up their game if they wanna be known and have a good reputation. By the way, the gnocchi was $40 for some reason and it was straight canned tomato sauce that was burnt and the gnocchi was not homemade.
