Worst meatballs I've ever had. Possibly the worst meal ever in nyc. Meatballs were Flavorless, dry, too bready, even the noodles were too hard, I understand Al dente but this is undercooked. Even a Bucca De Beppo chef would come here and throw the dish out the window. Worst of all, the price was ridiculous $40 for such a bad dish. I'm not sure how a place known for being American Italian can have such a bad "Sunday gravy" 2 stars for the nice waiter. The food ruined my day

Dimly lit restaurant with gorgeous decor! Was able to walk in on a weekday evening and get a table without a reservation. The waiter was friendly and gave a lot of suggestions which was helpful when deciding what to eat. The portions are generous, so would recommend starting with less and then adding more as you need. Everything was great, but a few notes: - The food came out VERY fast. Within what felt like 5 minutes of placing the order, the entrees were already at our table. - Quite overpriced.. $20 for a glass of wine and over $30 for one pasta dish. Was it tasty? Of course, but I don't know if it was worth the steep price tag. Worth coming again perhaps in a larger group to try more items.

Huge restaurant tucked away in kips bay. The martinis were done really well. For apps - we got the calamari and caesar salad, which were both great. For mains, the chicken parmesan is an absolute must. The portion is huge and so good. We also got the rigatoni, which was good!

This location has only been open since November. We had previously been to the West Village spot. The manager, who was also the hostess, was very welcoming and attentive. This location has lunch specials that we heard about on social media. I was excited to try the meatball parm sandwich. It came on a seeded roll and hot melting cheese. The sandwich did not disappoint. Our waiter accidentally put the order in as a chicken parm. They made the correction and actually comp the meal which wasn't necessary. The mozzarella appetizer was excellent and full of mozzarella cheese. They don't skimp on the cheese which wasn't necessary appreciated. The manager explained that they were still in a soft opening mode and things were still being worked on. We were the only customers in the place but we got there right at opening. I believe the experience at the West Village location is better; however, this new location needs to be given a chance. Can't wait to come back sometime when it is up and going strong.

Maybe the place is all hype... maybe I didn't order the right things. The service wasn't the best the pasta was mediocre, the meatballs were that wonderful rustic and old school, made at home sort of meatball. I wanted the veal but we got the chicken piccata and the sauce was good. The waitress mentioned how the portions "are so big that they don't come with anything else". This was not the case at all. This was not a big portion of piccata by a long shot, I could go to the pizza place down the block and get a bigger portion for less money, the same with the rigatoni and it would have more sauce. The Cavatelli was thick and the sausage was too spicy for the dish, & spicy rigatoni wasn't spicy. The only real good things were the bread and oil, the Pizza Hut lights over the bar, & the meatballs but those were small and $30 for three. The place just opened and ran out of matchbooks already too so I'm a little bummed. I really wanted to love this place and I'd get those meatballs again in a heartbeat, I'd like to try a veal dish or chicken parm but I don't know if I'll rush over there at these insane prices. With these prices I should have been blown or blown away, neither one of us were impressed

Sorry, forgot to take photos of main courses. We were told this was family style so we were surprised at the portions for dinner. We ordered an appetizer, pasta and veal parmigiana for 3 people thinking that this would be more than enough. But had to order another pasta and desserts. The food was ok, but we felt overpriced for what it was.

Was pretty excited to come here, been wanting to come for the last few months since they blew up on ig. Started with a martini that we were asked how many olives we would want because more than one would come with an additional charge, jarred olives at that. We ordered the bake clams and eggplant stack to start. Eggplant stack was solid, but that was literally all we were happy with. The baked clams were still gritty from not cleaning them properly. We then went on to order a rigatoni with chicken cutlet. This was 46 dollars, normally I never care about spending money on food, if it's good. This was just so disappointing, not even homemade pasta, mediocre sauce that was so garlicky and the chicken cutlet was bland The service was pretty awful too. We sat at the bar and the girl we had just seemed so unhappy to be at work. So save yourself the trip to their new location, plenty of our mom and pop spots that are a lot better.

    Dessert! Yummy!

It's a dim lit restaurant and the food is amazing. The staff is amazing, I will definitely go back again with my family as we all enjoyed it.

It was my first time there but I was expecting the menu I saw online, not this new one. The figs one came with a sweet fig granola bite and the lemon one really did taste sweet after eating the "Miracle Berry"! I'd definitely come back to try their many other drinks.

I liked how they organized the menu by country/geography to facilitate an understanding of the flavor profiles. I got two of the date & fig-flavored smoked whisky drinks and it was a well made, balanced, and very good. Not cheap at some $25 or something, but middle of Manhattan with some creative ingredients means I guess it is what it is. Servers seemed a bit annoyed to have to deal with us shortly before close as I think they were hoping to usher people out and close down maybe a little early. One the one hand I get it, on the other hand you've got two paying customers on a slow night.

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

I opted for a pastel sour while my companion asked for a drink called The Last Word - it was no longer on the menu but they obligingly made it for us anyway.
