We tried Arvada Villa on several occasions. The food is less than mediocre Italian. The service is nothing special and the setting is too tight. What really made us less than enthused with the place was the treatment my small children received by the owner. Aside from yelling at my children for playing in the vestibule as we left. the restaurant offers nothing special. The food isn't as good as many other Italian places in town and the service tends to be erratic. Also note that this establishment is not child friendly. read more

I am so excited the Villa is under new owner ship and things are better than ever! Hands down my favorite pizza and pasta place. The new owner is a waitress that has been working there forever and the manager who also cooks all the pasta (he is an amazing cook!) has also been there a long time. They have both really turned the atmosphere and food around. Don't get me wrong I have always loved the Villa but they have worked tirelessly to really make this old gem shine again like it used too! ordered a pizza with green peppers and onions . What I received was something circular with sauteed onions and hot Italian peppers on it. The peppers were not minced or sliced but rather just cut in half and slopped around the pizza circle. The whole sauteed onion slices were not spread around the pizza but just plonked there - an entire slice of sauteed onion at a time. The crust might as well have not been there at all it was so thin (2 or 3 mm at best!) that it was completely sogged down by the sauce. and unable to be held by hand. The sauce itself was somewhat sweetish and the best thing that can be said about it was that it was - generic. All around a poorly made pizza. read more

Have been going to Arvada Villa for some 50 years , but today will be the last time . The pizza was drowned in cheese and the sausage isn't what it use to be. The crust of the pizza was thin on one side and thick and under cooked on the other. So disappointed, Papa Murphy's is a better choice now. read more

Never been here before, but we thought we'd give it a try since they are "established in 1960." Not sure how people gave this place anything more than 1 star!! My experience started off with poor service. I felt like we were inconveniencing them even though there were only 2 other parties in the entire restaurant! When asked "what salad would you like?" I responded with "what are my options?" My options consisted of which salad dressing I wanted. I was amused because he should have asked "what type of dressing would you like" followed by the types of dressing available. This really wouldn't have mattered if this was the only disappointment. Don't get the bleu cheese because it tastes more like thousand island. Both my friend and I thought the same thing. I also noticed that the staff, while making our salads, did not have gloves on and touched all the ingredients. I overlooked this because it's very possible that they may have washed their hands?? Highly doubtful!! Once I got my first bite in my mouth, I felt something stringy. Yes, it was a long stand of blonde hair (I'm brunette). And all the waiter had to say was "I'm sorry" and didn't even offer another salad!! Next, which I'm not surprised, the food was bland and had no flavor! I had to add lots of salt & pepper just to choke it down. I normally don't need to add anything, even at Olive Garden! The friend that came with me is super chill and never complains, but she even wanted me to speak up! Maybe they're known for their pizza? But the manicotti, spaghetti, and lasagna are definitely not one of their best dishes! How do you screw up spaghetti?!? Prego has more flavor than their sauce! Once we received the bill I was expecting to have at least 5-10% taken off due to the hair that I practically ate! But, we were charged full price! I would be okay with that if they would have brought me a new salad. When I told the waiter that I thought we should have a discount, his response was "the salads are complimentary." Really!?! I don't care if you don't charge for the salad, my appetite was ruined, and on top of that, I am now writing a horrible review! Congratulations & thank you for my free salad with extra hair. He finally did take $5 of my manicotti. I'm not even sure who the restaurant manager was, but no one else even approached our table to apologize. I have been eating at Arvada Villa since I was 16. Since I don't live in the area anymore I rarely get to eat it but when I do it is always a treat. Quite possibly one of the best pizzas I've ever had. The ingredients are fresh and the pizza is always cooked just right, the dough is not crisp but not too soft, just right. One of the best selling pizzas would be the Super, which comes with pepperoni, sausauge, mushrooms and black olives and is pretty tasty. My personal favorite combination would be pepperoni, sausage, onion and garlic. Absolutely amazing, these four ingredients blend so well together, it's so good it's ridiculous. The Arvada Villa offers a full Italian menu, the pasta that I've had was pretty good but really the star item on the menu is the pizza. You can eat in there, order it to go or if you live in the area you can get it delivered. This place is not the cheapest, but it is a privately owned company and the pizza really is to die for so in my opinion it is well worth it. If you want to try one of the best pizzas of your life come to the Arvada Villa, you will not be disappointed. read more

Yes the owner was a bit intoxicated. A broncos game was going on. No one in restaurant service was ok. Owner was yelling and carrying on about game at bar which is right next to tables. We had our 3 year old with us and she was wondering why that man kept yelling. Pizza was mediocre. We ordered shrimp on pizza came out with baby brine shrimps. Very disappointed. Garlic bread was burned on top and again we were the only people there. Took awhile for pizza which is understanding but it wasnt worth the wait. Hands down worst dining experience ever. Everything from the service to the food (the water even tasted like dirt) and as former waitress I'm fairly leniet. Let's start with the service. We sat down and it took several minutes to acknowlegde our existence....and even more time to get menus. While I must admit, our waitress was very nice, and we did get our food in a timely manner, the rest of the staff were shockingly rude and unprofessional. The only other waitress there, was drinking on the job, as was the ENTIRE kitchen staff. How do I know, the waitress went right to the wine cooler and poured herself a large glass of white wine, and two men came out of the kitchen and poured themselves a Guinnes, RIGHT IN FRONT OF US AND THE WHOLE BUSINESS. Now let's move on to the food. I ordered the fettuccini with meatballs and susage. The sauce tatsted like "chef boiardee", again ask me how I know i ate a lot of that in college. The meatballs had no taste and were mushy. The susage was nothing special, it tatsted like they just went to the local grocery store and bought some Johnsonville Italian susage. Honestly the food is so nasty, I have no idea how this place has been opened since 1960. Seriuosly how do you mess up the taste of water (it tasted like dirt)!!!!! Please, do yourself a favor and get yourself a can of chef boyardee, it will be a lot ($19 a plate!!!) cheaper and it will taste the exact same; minus the drunken kitchen staff and shitty service. read more

Looking for a good Italian meal, my daughter and I thought we'd try Arvada Villa since we live near and we understood this place to be popular with the locals since the 1960's. My daughter was looking to enjoy Fettuccine Alfredo and found this restaurant does not serve Fettuccine Alfredo. Really? Instead, we both ordered the Chicken Parmigiana with home made noodles. A salad was served with each entree. I ordered Italian dressing, that was a mistake. It tasted like only corn oil was drizzled over my salad with just the tiniest hint of vinegar. The Chicken Parmigiana was okay. Honestly, for $19.00, I think I've had better Chicken Parmigiana TV dinners though. The chicken was not crispy and the pasta was chewy and tasted of flour. Yuck. Our waitress all but disappeared and we had to ask to have our drinks refilled. From the beginning, she had an attitude. The place was packed! Though for the life of me, we couldn't understand why. As we watched, it was clear the "regulars" were treated well. Clearly Arvada Villa feels they do not need any new business. No problem, we definitely will NOT be returning. Was attending a seminar at Red Rocks in Arvada and wanted to try somethihg local at lunch. Decided to try this place I'd spotted as the first couple of Yelp reviews I glanced at were positive. When I entered I was barely acknolwledged with what I took to be "seat yourself". Just a few people there. Very dim and in major need of a paint-job which I really can overlook if the food /service are good. In retrospect I probably should've tried the pizza but wasn't that starved and wanted something I could store easily in the little fridge available to me if I had leftovers (and I usually do) While waitiing to order couldn't help but notice the warm welcome the regulars DID receive that came in after me. Three were greeted by name. When it came time to order settled on the stuffed shells with a sausage. Comes with soup or salad.I don't care for salad but love soup. They didn;t have any soup...at noon. I told the waitress to just hold the salad so as not to waste it. She offed me a meatball as a substitute which I accepted.This should get them an extra half-star,Asked for a to-go box up front but was just told let to let her know when I was ready. A small basket of bread (very fresh and good) butter and some of those little cellophane-wrapped breadsticks were brought out while I waited and read a paper. Nothing provided to set the bread on though. The Pasta came out,two shells. half-sauced and one oddly naked. Just OK sauce and pasta,the filling needed a binder and had to be chased around the plate. Just went there tonight and talk about the owner making you feel very unwanted. The owner decided after our dinner to yell at our family in front of every one because he didn't like what my little nephews were doing (which wasn't that bad and we were already having them stop). He was .. yes .. yelling .. pointing his finger at me repeatedly .. saying I "would be in trouble if this and that happened" .. blah blah blah ... After we finished paying the bill. He could still be heard in the back kitchen making a ruckus over being mad about the children playing by the windows!! It was like .. get over it you said your piece and NOT professional way either, but it was said. So my brother (the children's parent) said to him that we wouldn't be back to the restaurant and his response was to bark "GOOD!!" at him from the kitchen. How is that for customer service .. the guy could care less about his customers or having a family establishment. Being friendly at all .. forget it .. he just attacked and basically was like .. get the hell out!! We are NEVER going back .. too bad because the food is good and in fact we go there quite a few times a year, but NOT worth THAT!! And from things I've read .. We are not the only ones who have had issues with the owner either!! Had the Rudest waitress and the owner was just as rude! There were 2 waitresses that night working. One of the waitresses saw me and my 2 lady friends up front waiting and she looked away and went off somewhere else- we waited up-front 15-20 minutes and then finally the waitress comes back and tells us theres a seat in the back.Then we wait another 10-15 minutes and we have no menus-no waters-nothing- so I go up to the bar and ask the waitress for 3 menus and she said she will bring them in a minute- so I said we've been waiting a while and she got snotty with me and said she had all these other tables to wait on-then I just walk away because of her rudeness,then about 10 minutes later she brings them and I grabbed it from her and she thought I grabbed the menu too fast and she raised her voice at me and said"Excuse me"- my 2 lady friends and I looked stunned cuz we didn't get what went wrong and so at that point I ask for a manager- the manager is gone so we decide to walk out and then I called the manager the very next day and actually spoke with the owner- it turns out that the rude waitress is the owners sister and while I was explaining what had happened he cuts me off and gets so defensive of his sister and denies that she could ever do anything like that and he hangs up on me.Wow- rudest service I ever got! never going back! Best little Italian restaurant I have been to in A WHILE! Being a bartender at a high volume wine bar I have to say the selection of red and white wines are pretty darn good and the service is pretty awesome! Also being a person who loves pizza in all places this is the BEST I HAVE EVER HAD! Seriously I ate like half a 14 inch just by myself after a good sized "small" salad and the lettuce was not iceberg *gasp* it had actual nutritional value. Our server was amazing and very knowledgeable! My husband and I went in for dinner one night to try the place out because we live close by....I thought I was ordering the baked cheese ravioli but I apparently ordered the regular which looked like it was just thrown in the bowl. When I explained to the waitress that I thought I was ordering the baked she basically told me that I didn't and walked away from the table. My husband then caught her attention and asked if there was anyway it could be baked. With a fuss she took it back and the cook put 3 slabs of cheese on it and probably microwaved it for 10 seconds and brought it back. It looked awful and at that point I didn't have an appetite. We asked for to go boxes just so we could leave and get out of there. As we were leaving I explained to the waitress that she was not accommodating at all and put no effort into taking proper care of us. The owner came out of the back and explained that the waitress was his sister and that he doesn't need customers like "me" and grabbed my shoulder and basically pushed me out the door and told me to "never come back"!. He was so rude it was unbelievable!! It was the worst experience at a restaurant I've EVER had. Needless to say, I will never go back and hope no one has to experience anything like that.
