My friend and I wanted to grab sushi together for lunch and Asahi was perfect for us. It's a little more dinner and bar vibes, with a darker dining room than what you would find in a fast casual restaurant, which worked for us because we wanted a quieter space so we could catch up. This also helped it be a little less busy. The food itself was delicious, but I'm not usually too picky with my sushi rolls and will eat most of any roll. I did like that they had a pretty extensive menu though. Definitely excited to go again, I'd love to try the actual lunch special which is a little more affordable or go for dinner sometime.

If you're looking for high quality sushi in Utah county, this is THE spot. Rolls are delicious. The gyoza appetizer was insaaaane and we ate them too fast for a photo. The music is upbeat and keeps the vibe fun and light. Service was fast and my water was refilled before I ever needed it! Love this place!

First time at Asahi! The decor is nice, but on a Saturday lunch hour, it was a bit empty. The music was really off - playing loud "club" music (louder than it should be) so it threw me off a bit. The rolls were smaller than normal (compared to what I've had in Utah County) and they were just OK - nothing out of the ordinary. The service was decent, but nothing was memorable enough for me to come back.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday with a friend. The restaurant only had one group of two when we arrived at 12:30pm. We were greeted by the waitress who took us to our table and asked for our drink order. I ordered the calamari to start with and two sushi rolls, the Xanax and the heart attack. All of my food came out at the same time so it was kind of disappointing to see that the calamari came out with the sushi and I couldn't enjoy it before my sushi came out. The heart attack roll was not spicy at all. I was disappointed that it wasn't hot and had no kick. It did have a good general flavor overall but I would've ordered to Vegas instead. The Xanax wasn't anything special. It was just okay. It almost has a sour taste to it which I'm not sure where that came from. The sushi rolls were a lot smaller than other places for the price and lower quality. This sushi was okay but there's much better in the valley.

My husband and I love going to different sushi places to find our favorite and I think this has won!! We got several rolls to try, all of them had a wonderful balance of flavors and textures. Our server, Soko, was so sweet and attentive. She even asked us about dessert and we got the most amazing molten chocolate cake! The restaurant is clean, calm, and tucked away so it's not too loud or anything. Thank you Asahi! We will be back!!

I am trying all the sushi spots in Orem and Asahi is the best so far! Been here maybe 4 or 5 times. Fresh fish. I try to try a different nigiri each time. Chefs are fast. Service is friendly and have good timing on checking on each table. Clean bathroom. Plenty of parking.

Pros: - Fish tasted fresh - Good price point Cons: - Sukiyaki not recommended- beef was not marinaded at all (!) and the broth tasted like regular udon broth just sweeter. Sukiyaki broth should be a lot more condensed. - Service was a little off, our server dropped the check without asking if we needed anything else, 40 minutes into us sitting down. They were not busy and they were not closing soon. We had just gotten the last roll we ordered. - Booth upholstery old and dirty I would rate 3 stars if it's not for the quality of the sushi.

Asahi is hands down my favorite sushi restaurant in Utah The quaint establishment has a trendy esthetic, a better than basic menu, unusually convenient late open hours, pleasantly knowledgeable & friendly servers, & bad ass sushi chefs. This sushi is delicious, fresh, amazing!!

Solid sushi place. Prices are $$, but that's what you would expect from a sushi restaurant. There are a lot of good options to try. Great place to take a date or group. Service was great.

We tried a whole bunch of apps and rolls, and I've gotta tell you our favs! Gyoza & Wontons were solid and classic. The Poki Tuna was standout though- every bite was a perfect bite of flavorful tuna, mango, and avo! Now, the rolls- they are massive! Asahi has the best Vegas roll we have ever had! It was fried just enough to have a crispy exterior but not enough to cook the salmon. Amazing! Other A + rolls were the Lion King (farthest right of the 3), the Crispy, and the Xanax (the one topped with salmon)! Give us alllll the raw tuna and salmon and we will be happy. Of course we had to finish the meal with Mochi! We can't believe we haven't tried this tasty sushi place before! Asahi has plenty of other entrees that we are dying to come back and try, like the miso ramen and short ribs.

Definitely one of our top sushi spots in the county - can literally never go wrong with anything on the menu. Not a huge sushi roll but i'll get a roll from time to time. I'm mostly going witg tge Asahi steak and my wife is always switching it up with different rolls (they are all pretty good imo)

I love the atmosphere of the restaurant, the staff was very friendly especially the manager Ian! He portion of the food isn't too big but standard price for sushi in the area. My favorite was the unagi maki and the playboy! The geisha was cool to try but didn't expect it to be a cucumber wrap! Good food overall!

There aren't many late night sushi restaurants that have such high quality dishes like these. You can really taste the freshness. I got a little of everything--an entrée, a sushi roll, some fresh sashimi, a specialty drink, and a dessert. I can honestly say that they were all fantastic. The steak with the curry was perfectly cooked, the tempura with the ice cream tasted like a churro, and all the fish was fresh. This place has unbelievable lunch specials and they offer their sushi for a discounted price after 10pm. Zero complaints.

We had the miso soup- pretty good the tofu pieces were small and few. Edamame was typical in size. Some of the sushi rice was not cooked thoroughly and I don't know why or how but some pieces fell apart with the chop sticks... poor building skills. Cons: Not a good selection- they make more Tuna Rolls than any other fish No Fresh Wasabi option- only the paste The Unagi is normally fall apart tender, our we had to actually chew it.. rubbery, And water isn't just given, you have to ask for it a few times The Yellow Tail with Mango- not good Pros... The Snowy Mountain- was Awesome As the Hawaiian The Vegas is my favorite everywhere I go, and this was good- but it's lightly batter in tempura , where this was done differently and instead of ruining it covered in spicy mayo., I drizzle eel/ponzu sauce.. California roll is always a staple Caterpillar is bomb.. I normally order the Philly- here they use smoked salmon which is NOT used to make this.. so order with traditional salmon, tastes 100% better For two of us with soda our bill was $115 For two people.. not Four.. we didn't want to wait till 9pm "happy hour" for the 50% sweet deal... it's a joke in the wall spot for locals that feel this is good sushi, when it's actually not..

I will start off by saying the food was amazing! When we…read moredid not receive our order through Yelp/GrubHub after over an hour (showed "still in process" online), they called us to let us know it was still there. I asked if I should run down to get it and they said yes, not realizing at the time that we ordered for delivery. I ran down to pick it up and they confirmed that it was supposed to be picked up and delivered to our hotel by GrubHub and apologized for it not being brought to us. They also confirmed that the order was READY at 8:41pm, but it was now 10:05pm! They said the sushi had been out for too long and would make us a whole new order, which was ready within 10 minutes, free of charge. My brain had not even processed that my husband ordered sushi and that sushi should always be kept cold, so I really appreciated them being upfront about it! I do not want to know how that would have gone later if my husband did eat the first order... I also appreciated the comfy chairs available while waiting for my order, as we had been driving for 8 hours that day and I was very sore and tired. The restaurant wasn't too loud and looked clean and well-kept from what I could see by the front door. Plenty of parking outside, although I did show up late at night while all the other stores/restaurants in the strip mall were closed. They were not packed at that time, but had a good number of people at tables spread out and everyone seemed to be having a good time. It was a nice atmosphere overall and if my children were not feral 99% of the time, I would have a sit-down meal here sometime! I also love that they are open till 10:30pm every night, which was a lifesaver for us! We got into town late on the Sunday after 4th of July, and most places were closed by 8pm, so it was great that they were open late. Our GrubHub driver showed up while I was waiting and said he had just received the order on his app and apologized for it taking so long, and would cancel it on his end so that I would get refunded. Although the waitress was hard to understand as she spoke very little English, she did find another waiter who was able to explain to me what was going on and they were very quick and polite to fix the issue. My katsu chicken was warm and crispy, just how it should be, and the white rice wasn't soggy or dry and crunchy. It was delicious and you get plenty for $12-ish. I also had enough chicken leftover for a complete meal the following day, which my very picky-eating son devoured! My husband's 2 orders of sushi rolls were perfectly made and delicious too, he said! If we ever come back through this area again on our next road trip (we are from Southern California), we will absolutely be stopping here again. I just wish that when Yelp/GrubHub refunded my order online they could have kept the tip for the staff; I didn't notice until after I got back to our hotel room Thank you so much Tamashi Ramen for excellent customer service and food!

Food is decent, but the pricing for the ramen is misleading and deceitful. They list a price for…read moreeach type of ramen, but there is an additional hidden fee for the soup base which apparently you are forced to get. It's like ordering fried rice, being asked what type of rice you want (white, brown, etc.), then getting charged extra for the rice. Really not a great experience. Update after owner's reply: While I appreciate the owner's reply and acknowledgement, it is still fundamentally misleading. Another perhaps more appropriate example is ordering wings then realizing that you're being charged separately for the flavor. Instead of lowering the price by the amount for each flavor, why not keep the same price and just make it clearer that there are options for the flavor of the soup base. I've been to plenty of other ramen restaurants that offer different flavors of soup base and don't charge separate for it.
