The only way I can think of describing my experience with this store is horrifying! We went in and purchased some bedroom furniture. The main concern was being able to get it delivered on a certain date, as we live in a high-rise condo building, and you have to move mountains to schedule furniture deliveries there. The salesperson said the date was not a problem and we could call them after a certain date to schedule it. We did just that, and called them on the first date we were given. We were told by a massively rude lady on the phone at the store that our furniture had been sold, and it would have to be re-ordered and would take 6-8 weeks minimum to get it. I then asked to cancel the order since our salesperson lied to us, and she rudely said we would have to pay a 35% re-stocking fee, even though it was their error. We then asked to speak to the store manager, which we were told was on vacation for two weeks. Then we asked to speak to whoever was in charge. We were told there were 2 others in the store, but they were busy. We asked for a call-back, and she hesitantly said OK. Big surprise nobody called, so we called again and were rudely put on hold...for 2 hours! She kept picking up the line and then putting it back on hold. Then she started screening our calls, and when our numbers popped up on her phone, she would ignore it and let it go to voice mail. This went on for 3 hours. We called the corporate office, and they tried calling the store, and when our name was mentioned, she hung up on them too!!! So, we drove over to the store and found nobody at the customer service desk. When asking a passing salesperson where everyone was, they just said, oh, she'll be back in a minute. When asked for a manager, we were told they all went home...this was at 5:30pm in a store that is open until 9pm. Then when the rude lady finally appeared at the desk, we told her who we were and that we knew what she had been doing to us with the phones, and she rudely shrugged and said, I'm just doing my job. She said there was an acting manager on duty, and we could see her through the glass window behind the customer service desk, but she refused to come out and help. Then we said we weren't leaving until our order was cancelled without fees. She then went into the secret office with the secret manager and came back out stating that the corporate office sent an email telling them to cancel, refund our deposit, and no fees would be charged. She did so and wasn't even going to give us a receipt of anything until we demanded it. In my opinion, being 54 years old, this is the #1 worst experience I have had in my entire life. This store should close it's doors forever. read more

Very disappointed in the accounting practices of this establishment. I bought over $3,000 worth of furniture. Upon delivery one item did not fit in stairway and had to be declined. It has been 18 days, and I am still waiting for credit on account. I went into store last weekend and got the run around that it was being handled. I called and left a message yesterday and no one returned my call. I called the store today and was told they issued the credit and it could take up to 2 additional weeks. So this could be over a month to get resolved, if it gets resolved. This is very shady accounting practices and poor customer service. read more

Elizabeth followed up with phone calls prior to and after delivery. When she found out a wrong piece of furniture was delivered, she rectified the problem immediately. Within a week the wrong item was replaced with the correct one. I could not have asked for a better experience with Ashley Furniture which is greatly attributed to Elizabeth's superb personality, salesmanship and dedication to ensure that her customers are satisfied and treated right. I ordered a bedroom set in July of 2021 and was told it would arrive within 4-6 weeks. The set did not arrive until January and the bed and dresser were damaged. Someone came out to repair the bed. The dresser had to be replaced three times. The third dresser I received was still damaged and when I called the store, the manager, David was rude, unapologetic, and and unresponsive. He offered to refund the delivery fee and that was it. Nine months after waiting for a bedroom set, I just accepted a damaged dresser because I was tired of living out of boxes. I tried to file a complaint higher than the store manager, but very difficult To find how to do that. I will never use them again. I have friends and family who also will not step foot in that store. read more

Look elsewhere for your furniture, this place is incredibly unprofessional and no one takes responsibility for anything. I splurged on a tempurpedic bed in hopes of having a very nice mattress for my back. When it was delivered the gentlemen told me it would take 1.5 hours to inflate due to it being shipped rolled up (understandable.) However, 7 hours later I return to see it did not inflate or change at all, it was still in the same deformed shape they had unwrapped in. I called the store and could not get a straight answer for a solution, I was passed around on the phone several times and ultimately was told to wait it out and they would call me the next day. They never called me back so I had to drive back out to the store to try and receive some help as I paid a lot of money including delivery for a mattress I was unable to sleep on. I had to wait a long time for anyone to show their face and was again met with no straight forward answer from the sales associate Nelly or the manager Malcolm despite showing them proof of the defective mattress. They kept trying to brush of my concerns even through they had no answer or excuse as to why my bed did not inflate. Neither of them bothered to have the decency in apologizing or acknowledging the mattress was defective. I had to argue with them to even get them to agree to replacing the mattress as they did not want to refund me either. I had to wait several days of sleeping on the couch and waiting on an email to confirm they would deliver a replacement. I am extremally dissatisfied with the way this store handled the situation and the customer service, or lack of. They make it seem like you are the nuisance for trying to get the correct items despite having paid them for supposed quality furniture. read more

It's been three months since we ordered our furniture, and we're still waiting. They promised delivery by the end of the month when we made the purchase. Now, after countless weekly follow-ups from our side, we keep getting the same response: 'It'll be delivered next week.' If we try to cancel, they want to hold onto 30% of the purchase price. Their service was great when making the sale, but post-sale? It's been nothing but disappointment. We've resorted to using beach chairs and eating off a foldable tray due to this delay. One of the worst store in the city. They alway lie to you about the furniture. Sales person just want to sell the furniture without the knowledge of that furniture is available or not. I walked in an hour prior to closing. There were 5 employees there. I walked past 3 of them on their cell phones sitting on couches near the entrance. No one acknowledged I was there, not asked if I needed help. I approached them. The gentleman I was talking to was told to allow a younger gentleman to take over. That was odd. I had looked online and found some couches I liked. He looked up 6 couches and they didn't have any of them. I asked him to show me reclining couches not made of leather. Whoever answers the phone at Ashley - Alexandria on 2/28/2023 should be fired. Customer Service was definitely -5 stars. The associate was unhelpful, had an attitude, and blatantly rude. I called to inquiry about the status of my order. I was originally told my order would arrive March 7, 2023. However, the associate informed me that it was pushed back to April 19, 2023. I get that the in-house team cannot control the Ashley Furniture internal processes (i.e., failure to inform customers of delays after spending thousands of dollars); however, you can control the way you handle and speak to customers. I am extremely satisfied with the Alexandria Rep named Krissy. She went above and beyond to help me with a re-order of furniture. At the time, my first shipment was not successful, but Krissy made it her duty to help me re-order, change the necessary account information and even added notes for the delivery reps to take all steps to have my furniture delivered. Nikko was honest and did not keep "following" us as we looked around (appreciated the space he gave us to let us look and talk as a family). Ended up purchasing bar stools and could not be happier! Stephanie our salesperson was friendly in the beginning but once the sale was done, she was MIA. Her only concern was making her commission. Placed our order in March (paid in full) and delivered in May. The delivery crew was the most unprofessional and rude team I have ever experienced. They damaged inside my home and left our house a mess (paper wrappings and plastic). It was not white glove delivery. One of our furniture came damaged so had to reorder and took 2 months for item to come in. Contacted the store and still waiting for manager to reach out to me directly. Understanding current supply chain issues, we were just not happy with never getting a consistent answer on delivery. First, it was eight to 12 weeks. Then, at five months, when finally delivering, part of our order was damaged. We were made "priority" for replacement, but the actual delivery warehouse doesn't track or use that. So, we got pushed back in line and again couldn't get a consistent date. Store gave different dates each time we called on specified dates of arrival. Then, we got pushed into another month later, even though inventory is coming into the area, according to their warehouse. Folks were all really nice, but they just couldn't get their customer messaging straight and we got inconsistent attention on the issue. One manager mentioned we'd be comp'd, but no one was tracking it. And again, the tag of "priority" means nothing outside the actual store. Canceled our order. Really disappointed. read more

I would normally give five stars as I really would have liked to tour the store on my own as it is a new and beautiful store with lots of lovely furniture. However, I cut my visit short due to being tailed by the sales associate. This is a big store and he was EVERYWHERE I was...made me uncomfortable and I was unable to concentrate on what I was truly looking for. I introduced myself upon entering and told him that I would find him for questions, however, I could not lose him...eventually I got tired of the cat and mouse game and left. Please stop this harassment. Although I really love Ashley Furniture, I cannot take being tailed. Next time I will go to the front desk and tell them that I do not want to be followed. The guy was within 10 feet of me all the time, and this is a big store! I could not run from him or hide...he was everywhere!!!! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. We waited 7 months for a king bed set, a couch, and a loveseat we ordered on July, 10 2021. We were quoted 8-12 weeks. We called at the 8 week mark to make sure everything was on track. They told us they were missing 3 items from the order. Called week 12 and they were missing the same items. Called week 15 and had the couches delivered. On month 7 the bedroom furniture finally showed up. The three managers Malcolm, Jessica, and Krissy are all terrible managers and will tell you three different things. During this whole process they blamed everything and anything on COVID and the customer service reps will not work with us. At the end of this they gave us compensation of 5% and a big fat "sorry." They've been lying to us the whole way, avoiding contact with us, and feeding us different information. They gave us a so called "corporate" number that went to a call center that told us to "deal with the store." So if you want to buy furniture and have it show up 5 months late with a one day heads up that it's arriving 5 months late than this is the store for you! But if you want furniture delivered on time and excellent customer service avoid this store and this brand at all costs. I also don't wanna see Jessica in the comments saying sorry. If you want this to get better approve some additional compensation. read more

Horrible experience! We ordered our sectional and ottoman in July and its almost November and they keep pushing the 8-12 weeks back. We have also had a horrible time with their customer service, we were told back in September that our sofa was there but we were just waiting on the ottoman an then the next time we checked in they no longer had our sofa and claim they never did. We are now sitting at about 14 weeks and still no estimated arrival of our items and even when they do arrive at the warehouse we were told it would still take about another 2 weeks. read more

I bought a dresser, dining room set, server, and 2 rugs in July. I received everything today except the 2 rugs. The delivery of items to their warehouse was not reliable as dates would keep getting pushed back when you called. I had to call them for an update even though. The company should probably stop quoting 8-12 weeks. Two of the items I received were damaged and my only option was to send it back and wait for another delivery. I didn't want to wait an additional few months as I have family coming into town. There should be a reduction in price due to damage if you're not willing to wait another few months due to the supply chain issues. The other two rugs, I was told I'd have to pick them up myself. What a joke! Not impressed with the cost vs quality of furniture, customer service, delivery expectations. 1 star is only because the Salesman was helpful in July. Five recent emails to Adil N (customer service rep) who promised sofa would be delivered in March 2022 after several earlier promised delivery dates. No response to my emails. The second most popular furniture company in America, and less expensive than #1 La-Z-Boy, the furniture varies in quality and offers no warranties comparable to La-Z-Boy. Friendly and professional salespeople. The biggest weakness and failure lies in their presumably contracted furniture delivery process. In my case, I was willing to have a four hour delivery window, fair enough. But when a 11:22 am text with my confirmed address said delivery would occur in "approximately 15 minutes" and the delivery did not happen until 1:11 pm, I felt disrespected. The Midatlantic Delivery Services delivery driver said he used his app to send the text, but the text only meant he was going to deliver in the 4 hour window (in his mind). Even after I showed him the text his app generated he just shrugged his shoulders. If you miss a delivery (if they call and you happen to not answer) they will skip you, and your free delivery will now be costly, and if you try to "return" the furniture you will be faced with a 25% restock fee. It almost seems like bad delivery is a profit center for them, though this is mere speculation. Decent products, but how they fail to manage the final customer touch of delivery boggles the mind. read more

We have been waiting for 3 months now to receive the furniture we bought. At the moment of the sale they said that they would receive the equipment by the end of the month and calls us to schedule delivery. Three months later we have been calling every single week to ask where is our loveseat and our dining room and they keep saying that it will arrive the following week. This has been going on for 3 months now. We made a big purchase and if we want to cancel the order they keep 30% of the total amount which is a decent amount of money, reason why we have not been able to cancel de order. Great customer service at the moment of the sale and right after that they washed up their hands. We have been living on beach chairs for 3 months and eating on a foldable tray table because of these people. They treat you horrible when you call claiming the status of your furniture.
