In town this week on business and I noticed this establishment on my way to the office. I decided I wanted to give it a try at lunch and called in my order for pickup. Lots of menu items to choose from so I went for the Moo Goo Gai Pan. Two others in the office ordered as well, the shrimp fried rice and the jalapeno chicken. When I arrived at the restaurant the order was ready for us. Getting it back to the office which was just under a mile away, the food was still nice and hot. I really enjoyed the Moo Goo Gai Pan, the veggies were fresh and still had a bit of crunch to them, just the way I like it. The quantity of food was plenty, one of the eaters had enough to have a second meal from. Glad I noticed this restaurant today. I am going to go back before I leave Corpus and try the Pho. read more

My wife is an excellent cook so my standards are high. She commented that they use cheap rice. My fried rice was simply steamed rice with a hint of teriyaki sauce. My plate was hot yet the shrimp was lukewarm. The food was served too quickly which means the food is already cooked, just warmed up. Very sloppy, tasteless food. Good asian food is hard to find in corpus, overall this place is average state-wide, but above average for corpus. Hot oil was well made not stale and bitter. Wonton soup was surprisingly good compared to the soggy varieties found elsewhere ie buffet. I always get sweet n sour as a standard to judge a restaurant, fried rice was dry and below average. The chicken was soft and the batter crispy 4 stars on that! Syrup was typical. Egg roll was a little soggy. Overall 3.5 star I'll come back! read more

Had been wanting to try this place for awhile, just never got the chance. Finally did last night, and man, was it ever worth t! Went through the drive thru and ordered the spicy tuna roll, shrimp fried rice and the rice noodles with shrimp. EVERYTHING was delicious and fresh! I'm usually skeptical about doing sushi through a drive thru, but it was so fresh tasting and good that now I'm glad I did! The rice noodles were steaming hot and the vegetables still had so much crunch to them and the shrimp were huge and cooked perfectly! Had not been back since the first week they opened. Had a better experience this time probably just because they have been open for awhile now and have worked out the kinks. All tables, no booths, nice long sushi bar with seating. Service was very good! My husband ordered the daikon maki sushi and it was nicely plated. While the customer service was good the food was terrible. I ordered the steamed shrimp with mixed veggies and white rice and the rice was... crunchy. :P. I was referred here by a friend. She initially described it as kinda fancy with regard to the scenery. There was a nice presentation going in but the chairs are not as comfy as they look and the lighting could be better on the eyes. I ordered shrimp Lomein and fried rice. The Lomein had a good taste and texture but the shrimp was over cooked and so was the rice. The rice was crunchy and dry. Had to ask for a sauce to drown it in. I had takeout from here for the first time today. My go to meal is usually General Tso's chicken so that's what I ordered. Before I get to that let me first say that I didn't even know this place was here as I don't travel down that stretch of airline too often. I was happy to see they have a drive thru since I'm literally the laziest person on earth and I was too hungry to walk inside lol. Anyway, their menu is quite extensive so I was a little nervous. In the past, more often than not if there's a million things on the menu that means they're probably mediocre. Another issue is that there are pics of sushi on the menu but no actual sushi menu so that was confusing but they do indeed serve it and in fact it's 1/2 off from 2-5. Back to my General Tso's....it was tasty. Not too spicy. Lots of sauce. The rice came in a separate container and was plenty. There's enough to eat at least twice. Or share if you're into that kinda thing. I'll definitely go back and try some more things on the menu. A definite better choice than either one of the Hunan's. read more

I'm here visiting from California, and this cafe catches my eyes. I had ordered the Vietnamese Pho and some spring rolls thru the drivethru. Man was it a long wait! The soup was so salty, no flavored, my spring rolls had a hair in it (1roll) the other roll had some green color sauce in which I know it wasn't supposed to! We ordered the sesame chicken and general tso chicken dinner portion. I was surprised that both had all white meat. The only disappointing thing was the rice. We ordered both steamed and fried rice. My steamed rice was clumpy and reminded me of buffet rice. The fried rice didn't seem like it was fried at all. It had no flavor. Wish the rice was better, we really enjoyed the meals. read more

i've written my fair share of negative reviews, but i do disagree with of the review on this page. bottom line is, a place with good food should get at least four stars. i've been here with two coworkers, and also been here multiple times with my partner. everyone gets good food every time. this isn't some crappy small-town-faux-chinese like you see all over the deep South. the soup is legit, the vietnamese menu special is a buck cheaper than most of the menu and available every day. i recommend it. lots of items give generous portions, and the vegatables chopped into my bowl were very fresh. disclaimer: i have not tried the sushi other than one cheap roll. so if you are a big sushi fan, i have no advice for you on that. four stars. solid spot. will go again at some point i'm sure. read more

This past Saturday, my sweetie & I decided to try out this restaurant on Airline Rd. since it came highly recommended by a few friends. We arrived just prior to 2pm and were told by the server that between 2-5pm all Japanese dishes were 1/2 price. This included 3 pages of a 5-6 page menu, most of it sushi or sashimi. Right up our alley! We ordered the octopus salad which was 4 tender pieces of octopus on a bed of lightly pickled cucumbers...delicious. We also ordered the large bowl of seafood soup...excellent. Our main dish was the Hot Roll which consisted of shrimp wrapped in salmon with a cream cheese center and hot (spicy) minced tuna topping. the shrimp was fried in a tempura batter and tempura sprinkles covered the entire roll, then drizzled with a sriracha-cream sauce. This was marvelous. The restaurant was clean, the waitstaff attentive & helpful, the food arrived quickly and the presentation of the dishes was pleasant and appealing. The only reason I did not give this restaurant 5 stars is this: This menu is extremely large & it does not go into detail of what the dishes consist of. I encourage the owners to educate their customers on the ingredients of the wonderful dishes they serve (perhaps in the form of a pamphlet with "Tako"="Octopus", "Ebi"="shrimp", etc.). If the public isn't informed, the success of this gem of a restaurant might be at stake. Our server was extremely helpful in informing us about certain dishes, but it could be time consuming since this is a large menu with a multitude of selections. All in all, you'll find dishes that you will NOT find elsewhere. Everything we tried was fresh & tasty and we had a terrific experience. We will positively be back! read more
