We've eaten here many many times and I'm finally gotten around to writing this. This place is the best Asian restaurant in the Phoenixville area. First let me explain I DO NOT eat Sushi, I would sooner lick a ddoor knob than eat raw fish. I stick to the Chinese side of the menu. I have had Hot & Sour, Wonton, Chicken & rice soups; Teriyaki chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Beef w/broccoli, Beef w/garlic, Mango Shrimp (my favorite) and many more. Their lunch specials (11-3) are a REAL bargain. Make sure you order hot tea, it is made with real loose tea in a cast iron tea pot. The staff (the owners?) are VERY friendly and gracious. Asian Cafe is always a solid choice.Their food is always fresh and reasonably priced. Until last night, I'd only ever ordered takeout. However, after sitting down to a meal, I'm even more pleased with AC. As Wednesdays are $1 sushi/sashimi night (and therefore understandably popular), I was not expecting to be seated quickly and served as well as we were. This place is our favorite place to order delivery and it's by far the best Chinese take out we have ever had. The food is a little more expensive as compared to the average Chinese place but it's well worth it! I highly recommend it! This food has the potential to be great but it lacks seasoning. I've eaten here three times now and every item I've ordered consistently lacks seasoning. If it weren't for fish sauce, the meal would've been as bland as a bowl of steamed rice. I can tell the flavors are nice but they're muted as well. I ordered wonton soup Friday night and ate half. It was fine..nothing special. Tonight I reheated it cut into a wonton and found a shrimp!!!!! I have a shellfish allergy and could have had a serious situation. Clearly this shows a messy kitchen and lacking in food prep. Will never order from here agiain! Absolutely the worst food we've ever had & way overpriced. General Tso's chicken, sesame chicken, fried rice, lo mein, and pork egg rolls. The chicken was not breaded & the seasonings were horrible. The "fried rice" was brown rice with nothing else in it. The lo mein had absolutely no flavor. The chicken dishes had more broccoli than chicken. The egg roll tasted like marijuana (not a taste that I'm fond of). My husband bit into what looked like a piece of bone. We will never go back again. I wish I could give negative stars read more

FINALLY!!! We've lived in Phoenixville for 4 years now and had yet to find a place with good Chinese food. We were looking to order tonight, but were fed up with the places that we've tried in the past and looked online for somewhere new. I came across Asian Cafe and so we decided to try it. I can finally say that we have awesome Asian style food in the area!! The online ordering service made it very simple to place our order and every dish that we got was the best I've had in a long time. The Sesame Chicken had a great flavor and wasn't the overly-breaded chewy dark chicken that we've become accustomed to. Also, I tried Shrimp Mei Fun for the first time and was so glad I did!! Friday night my husband and I ordered food from Asian Cafe and I have to say it was the best I have had in a very long time, The wonton soup was excellent the wontons were fresh and not over cooked, our entrees were delicous with all kinds of fresh veggies not just full of broccoli. We were so impressed my husband called them right away to let them know how much we enjoyed the food. We have been searching high and low for a descent chinese restaurant in this area and I know from now on were we will be going. Asian Cafe's Chinese affair is pretty good, but their sushi is very, very bad. The fish was old and smelled through the packaging. The rice was stale, and they used the wrong ingredients in the roles we ordered. If you want noodles or beef, they're great, but if you're looking for sushi run far, far away. Still searching for tasty Chinese food in the Phoenixville area; tried delivery from Asian Cafe. The online ordering system worked nicely, though they don't accept Paypal (which I prefer for credit card security reasons) or Amex (which I prefer in general). They're a pan-Asia place, with Chinese, Japanese, and Thai dishes (this is not a good sign; it's like a diner with a menu that reads like a book -- how can you do that many things well? Answer: Likely you can't). I ordered both sashimi as well as a common Chinese dish (which I specified extra spicy). The sashimi was excellent! Very fresh and tasty. The Chinese dish had plenty of fresh vegetables, which is good. But it was bland: not only didn't it have much flavor, but it also was lacking heat. Mind you, this was a dish listed with a pepper next to it on the menu, and I specified "extra spicy" in the order. And it was what I call "gloppy" -- typical Americanized Chinese food with a lot of oil. A good dish should have a thinner, tastier sauce. Also, I ordered the "large" portion, but it came with a rather small container of rice. And rather than putting the rice in a nice enviro-friendly typical Chinese cardboard takeout box, the rice arrived in a Styrofoam container. My search for tasty Chinese food in Phoenixville shall continue. The nearest remains Margret Quo's Mandarin in Malvern / Frazer, though I doubt they deliver to Phoenixville (and you have to remember to ask for "no MSG."). read more

Absolutely the worst Chinese I've ever had. I can usually stomach food if it's a little gross but this beef and broccoli was literally inedible even after dousing it in soy. Not only that but the wait times for pick up were ridiculous. Ordered food at 6:40 and was told 20 mins got to the restaurant at 7:05 and didn't get our food until 7:25! The only reason I give this place two stars is because the crab rangoon was some of the best I've had. Won't ever be back though, there are so many better options in the area. read more

The asian cafe sushi roll alone is worth raves....I bring my clients here because I know the food will be beautifully presented, we will be treated cordially and the chef ever gave us wonderful tips on preparing rolls on our own. Great new asian restaurant in Kimberton area. Combination Chinese/Japanese/Thai menu. We tried the sushi and som Thai food and both were excellent. There is only one other sushi place in the area I know of and this place is better and less expensive. It remains to be seen if that is just to entice people to come back given they're a new business but they did a terrific job of quantity, quality and cost. read more

Ordered delivery from them for the first time. Had a $90 dollar order, one of the items being a $15 dollar sushi roll that was literally all lettuce. So unhappy. Don't waste your time or money unless you're happy with a $15 dollar salad with hot sauce. Crab Rangoon was all cream cheese not even an imitation crab taste. read more

This is a very inexpensive BYOB restaurant that is right next to the local wine and spirits. The tuna and salmon rolls were to die for, the miso soup and house salad were very nicely prepared, and the peanut chicken was so delicious that there aren't even words to describe it. With their lunch special all of the above described food was $16. I really don't know how they do it but I will be visiting them again! read more

Good sushi and chinese food. However, way too expensive. There is no combination platters like other chinese restaurants. For instance, you cannot get a fried rice and entree combination. You must order both for over 10 dollars. That's way too much for one person. read more

First only time I will order from here. I ordered wondon soup and while eating it noticed it had a funny taste. Looking at the noodles I noticed it was filled with shrimp. No where on the menu did it say shrimp was an ingredient, the unfortunate part is a I'm severely allergic to shellfish. I spent my summer vacation in PA in my Uncle's home which is close to here, we had dinner in this restaurant often during last two month. The servers are very kindly and keep smile to customers. The restaurant is very clean and nice. The food is delicious, I like their Sushi, Sesame and Chinese food. They provide delicious food and best customer service. REALLY RECOMMEND TO GO. read more

I will start by saying this place has very good food! Very fresh and flavorful! I have one major issue with them over charging when placing the order on line. The total price you are given at the end of your order is always different when they deliver it at your door. It's only a few cents, but to me it's the principal of it. So, I have confronted them a multiple of times after giving them many chances over again and they look at me like I'm crazy or better yet that they don't understand! So, the latest I ordered online and proceeded to call in to pay with a credit card to make sure the price was the same. Sure enough it was different..... and Jack the gentleman working there explained to me that they round up to the nearest 5 or 10 which makes no sense to me what so ever! Besides the fact, how can you even do that and get away with it?????? I then ask for the manager and was told he wasn't there, I even asked for the managers name and Jack told me he didn't know!! Bottom line keep an eye on your receipts and or credit card statements!! I will be sure to never go back and thought I should share this information. read more

Stick to the sushi and you'll be fine. I didn't, and a lot of my meal went straight to the garbage: Thai calamari - a great concept, crispy fried calamari with sweet Thai chili sauce. When I opened the take-out container, I thought I had onion rings - never have I seen such huge rings of calamari. The Thai chili sauce container had leaked, but there wasn't much to begin with, or so I thought. The calamari was tough and super-greasy. One ring and threw out the rest. When I pulled out the General Tso's chicken, I realized why there wasn't much chili sauce - everything in the bag was coated with it. I kept the bag upright all the way home, so this must have happened when they packed the take-out order ... and they didn't notice? The chicken was an odd consistency - not pieces of chicken but maybe ground up and reformed. Sauce was OK, broccoli was tough and old. Over half joined the calamari in the garbage. The spring roll, although tiny, was good. The miso soup was odd, and most went down the drain. I was really surprised at the poor quality of the hot food here, as I've had the sushi here on several occasions and it was fine - not great, but fine, hence the 3 stars. read more
