Upon our arrival , we were seated immediately and welcomed by our friendly server, Conner. Our family always welcomes the opportunity to try a new dim sum restaurant. Our order included the Lobster Rangoons, Eggplant, Bacon Fried Rice, Kung Pao Chicken, Soup Dumplings, Steamed Pork Dumplings and Shrimp Har Gow. All items were incredible. Empire Chinese Kitchen delivers in all areas with exceptional service, quality food and a nice casual atmosphere.

We came in on Saturday night knowing we would have to wait so we went to the bar. They had a special cocktail that night and it was so good I wish I could remember what it was called but you have to try whatever their specialty drink of the night is. Since we had a large party we ordered a lot because everything sounds so good so we did a bunch of Dim Sum and a few mans as well. We went with: Empire Eggrolls Lobster Rangoons Char Siu Baos Spicy Pork Belly Buns Pork Potsticks Shanghai Soup Dumplings Shu Mai Curry Udon Kung Pao Chicken Honestly everything was great but the stand outs for me were the Lobster Rangoons, Char Siu Baos, Pork Potsticks, Curry Udon, and the Kung Pao Chicken. First of Lobster Rangoons I mean how do you not. Portland Maine being Lobster Paradise this just makes sense and is a must try staple here. Just takes your normal Chinese Crab Rangoon to the next level. The Char Siu Baos where the best BBQ Pork Bun I have ever had. I know these can be hit or miss sometimes but Empire it doing it right truly the best I have had. The Pork Potsticks were also great. A top 3 dumpling I have had. I honestly wasn't expecting much but these were amazing. The Curry Udon was kind of a funny story. I said we should try this and my friends like me know it was vegan but for once that didn't bother me. This was great and so full of flavor. Plus you can't go wrong with Udon. Kung Pao Chicken is always my go to and this one takes the cake. The Chicken is lighty battered and so full of flavor. One of the best I have ever had. Honestly you can't go wrong with anything we had at Empire Chinese and I would 100% go back and do it all again. I'll end this review the way we started dinner. Lobsta Goooooonnnnsss!

This salad bowl eatery offers made to order bowls with many different combinations of ingredients to choose from and they also offer signature bowls, bottled Everyday Boost cold pressed juices and baked sweets too. There is table seating across from the counter. There were plastic menus and dry erase markers at the counter and I decided to do the build your own bowl ($16 plus tax), marking my choices of ingredients including Choose Two Bases (green leaf & Thai rice noodles), Pick Four Toppings (tomato, roasted corn, sweet potato, kung pao veggies), Pick One Protein (vegan hoisin meatball), Pick One Crunchy Topping (crispy tortilla strips), and Pick One Dressing (jalapeno lime vinaigrette). My bowl was made to order after paying and handing over the marked up laminated menu and was ready to go 5 minutes later. My fusion bowl was very fresh and good flavors with a variety of tasty ingredients in the mix. Now that was a great fresh fusion bowl!

The food is great for sharing if you're on a little foodie adventure and hopping around to different spots, and they also have full meals. We really like the food here, and they have specials too. One thing we still haven't tried are the cocktails. Do not pass up the seasonal soft serve! I also remember their T-shirts being super cute. I'll probably stop by again the next time I'm up in Portland. Parking can be tricky with street parking, though there are paid lots. Overall Service: I don't think I've had a bad experience here. The last few times, our servers have been upbeat, and even the host was welcoming.

Close to more bars for extra drinks, easy to run into other friends. Also, it's a beautiful spot with outdoor seating in the warmer months. We opted to sit outside and enjoyed khao soi, katsu pork sandwich, and the honey soft serve. The portions are generous, as we were able to share and have leftovers. Each plate had so many great textures and flavors. We did experience a long wait between ordering, getting food, and receiving the check. It was a busy summer night so I wasn't upset, but do not plan on having a quick meal here. Get cozy, get an extra drinks and enjoy your time here. Apologies, but phone did not eat first this time-no pics!

You can really taste the care and authenticity in every dish. We stopped here for dinner during our Portland trip, and my husband and I ordered a bunch of dishes to share so we could try as much as possible. We had different types of skewers, quail eggs, calamari, beef panang, and stir-fried noodles. And of course, we had to finish with their famous black sticky rice with coconut. There wasn't a single bad dish. Everything was delicious, well seasoned, and tasted authentic. Each dish had its own unique flavor profile, and nothing felt boring or one dimensional. The ambiance was also really cute and cozy, making it a great spot for a date night or a nice dinner with someone special. The service was phenomenal too. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and incredibly fast without making us feel rushed. Honestly, I'd come back to Portland just to eat here again. Definitely a must try if you're looking for flavorful, authentic Thai food!

First thing to note is that the menu seems to have changed substantially, offering more Thai-adjacent and pan-Asian food than authentically Thai food. I ordered their coconut soup (Tom Kha; $10) to start and a local mushroom bowl as my main--both vegan by default. It took a while for the food to come out--maybe 20 mins for the soup and another 15 for the main. The soup was nicely seasoned, maybe being a bit too thick, and not allowing the galangal/lime leaf to breathe as much as it should. But I liked how it came with red pepper, tomato, mushroom and tofu. The main was not really Thai at all, coming with a rather stingy portion of tempeh, two kinds of mushrooms, red pepper, Lima beans, and microgreens. Reasonably seasoned but just not that interesting. Overall, disappointing relative to my previous experience, but still pretty good.
