This is one of a few rare "craving" places we have in our household. Sometimes I just crave their sweet and sour chicken and need to drive across town for it. I love their sweet and sour chicken, it cannot be beat. We of course get other things every time, but this is the standout dish that we come back for over and over again. Just the right amount of everything. The pricing here is pretty basic Asian fast food pricing. Not as much as a sit down place, but a little bit higher than the super cut rate chinese places around town. A good compromise for price and quality. They also have boba which is a nice little treat to get when you are driving home in traffic. The quick serve side of the restaurant is nice than most quick serve restaurants but still isn't "date worthy", next door in the Korean BBQ would be a better bet for that. But the space is still nice enough to be a place to feel like you are eating at a restaurant instead of just a quick serve formica joint. We were eating in at the Korean BBQ next door and wanted to try some of their boba. It is reasonably priced for the amount you get. We tried the Jasmine Milk Tea and Black Sugar with honey boba. The Jasmine Milk Tea was too flowery and not sweet enough for my taste. I would not get that again. However, the Black Sugar was perfect! Usually, the Black Sugar is overly sweet at other shops, but the amount of sweetness is perfect here. These were both made and delivered to us in a timely fashion. The interior design and decoration is the same as the KBBQ next door. I think the place can definitely use a remodeling to be more modern. Lastly, their menu has a selection of their signature drinks you can order from. However, you also have the option to make your own by choosing a flavor, the amount of sweetness, and any toppings. The sweetness of the drinks are usually at 25%, so I would recommend going 50% or 75% sweetness to match the normal sweetness range of other boba shops. read more

Siu is our favorite - whether it's the Korean bbq side or the express. We always order the general chicken lunch combo with hot and sour soup! Other items we have ordered and loved are the popcorn chicken, fried calamari, garlic noodles, beef broccoli and spicy pork belly. So good and can't beat the price! We have tried the drinks here and honestly, it's not our favorite. I've tried the oolong milk tea and Thai iced tea, both are just ok. Today, I tried the Vietnamese iced coffee and maybe we just had a bad batch or something because it was far from a Vietnamese iced coffee. I was expecting a strong coffee taste, but it just tasted like milk. Just by looking at the drink, you can tell it was mostly milk. Outstanding Korean BBQ for a reasonable price, great service, and boba adjacent. My oldest son (7 yo) loves getting the baby octopus and watching them curl up on the grill. Surprisingly enough, he also eats them happily. The youngest son (3 yo) won't eat anything aside from the rice and the chicken appetizer, but that's pretty good for him. A great establishment that gives the neighborhood a taste of China! This is where I went because a friend of mine was craving bubble tea. When we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly and enthusiastic owner, as well as the staff. You could see they were quite proud of their location. We appreciated the owner's assurance that if we didn't like it, we could return it, and they would remake it to our liking- THANK YOU! So we ordered Thai tea and Vietnamese coffee chilled. Came here for a milk tea and a sea salt caramel ice mocha with boba. Did not like the milk tea as the tea has a weird Earl Grey like flavor. The sea salt caramel was pretty sweet and lacking that salty foam goodness. We wouldn't come back for boba drinks here. Service was good and the place is really nice. My go to Chinese spot for a handful of things. Their Chinese food is so good! I judge a place by their general chicken. And my goodness their general chicken was great! And to my surprise came with a serving of what's seemed to be blanched broccoli with it! Another favorite of mine that I crave, is their garlic noodles. It's it's just as it sounds. Chow Neon noodles drenched and fried in garlic. Their service is always sweet, and they've always got someone running their boba bar. My personal favorite on their menu is their Vietnamese coffee. Best Chinese food I have had in a while. We were on a family road trip from California and are foodies at heart so we gave this place a chance and were not disappointed at all! It looks like a hole in the wall from the outside but looks can be deceiving, the inside was not what we expect, very nice and clean establishment. Employees were so helpful and polite. We ordered the 5 season wings to start (then a second order to finish. That's how great they tasted). For a family of 4 we ordered combo chow mien, combo fried rice and beef with broccoli. Everything tasted amazing and fresh. We could not leave without trying out their boba teas and of course again we were not disappointed. Not the best I've ever had, but they have a good flavor and plenty of customizable options. I found the milk tea to be a little watery for my liking, but the boba is perfectly cooked! I had the coconut milk tea this last time. Great flavor, not too sweet! I think I would like it in blended form better so I'll try that next time! Chinese isn't my favorite cuisine but Siu's food has me second guessing my choices. They definitely have some of the best Chinese food in town. It's always fresh and tasty. The portions are big and at a reasonable price. They also have lunch and dinner specials that come with rice and soup. It's a lot of food to say the least. I always get the chicken and broccoli with hot and sour soup. They also have a lot of appetizers; my favorites are the crab rangoons, sweet potato fries, and popcorn chicken. One of the main reasons I find myself coming here is for the boba! I've tried a lot of boba places and Siu beats out most of them. Their drink menu is simple and consistent. You won't get overwhelmed by a million different drinks like at some other boba places. Less is always more. My go to drinks are the Thai tea and Vietnamese iced coffee. The sea salt cream is a game changer and a must try! You can customize how sweet you want your drink as well. It can be 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%. I don't have a big sweet tooth so I always go with 25% and it's perfect. They also do take out so if you call ahead they'll have it ready for you by the time you arrive. This is my go-to take out chinese place since covid and stay at home orders. I love how affordable this place is and that they don't skimp on quality. It's definitely a bang for your buck. I absolutely love their black bean fish! It's just the perfect balance of black bean sauce, fish and veggies. It's light and savory at the same time and pair it with some white rice, it becomes the ultimate chinese fish dish. If fish is not your game, their noodle dishes are superb. I recommend either the chicken chow mein or the Singapore rice noodles. The chicken in the chow mein is very tender and the noodles are perfectly coated without being too greasy. The Singapore rice noodles have a nice curry taste and is served with huge prawns. All dishes under $12, can't go wrong, especially if you get the dinner or lunch special. It comes with white rice, entree and soup. the combo plate is really an excellent deal as the give you so much food for such an affordable price! There's something the way the coffee is prepared it has the right amount of caffeine to add more pep to my step and it's not overpowering in sweetness. There's two sizes to chose from regular or "fat" just depends how awake you need to be. Only bummer is that they are closed in Tuesday's at first I would pull in and be thrown off but I've gotten in the swing of remembering. We do enjoy the food here at Siu. However, on this particular trip we ordered take out, about 7PM on a Sunday evening. While we were sitting down waiting for our food two groups of people came in and were seated. A short while later, their food arrived at their table. Nobody came by to give us an update on our order. A little while longer, the groups were about half way done with their meals, I approached the counter. Without saying a word, I was told "Sorry, it's almost ready" by the girl at the counter, as she walked into the back. A little time goes by and she returns with our food and apologizes again for the wait, no explanation as to why others were given their food before we were. Been here for boba tea several times and like it. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful, always upbeat. Decided to try them for some food. So glad I did! The veggie fried rice was arguably the best I've ever had. NOT loaded with a bunch of filler bean sprouts and stale peas-n-carrots, it was simple and flavorful and had plenty of egg. Plus there was a generous amount of food, enough to stuff my tummy to keep me fueled AND I still had leftovers to enjoy later! I'll be back to Siu no doubt. I'm intrigued by the Korean barbecue side of it and hope to try that soon. That is priced all-you-can-eat. If you go at lunch time you save a few bucks over the dinner price. My dad loves this place but I am not a fan! To be fair their Korean BBQ side is good, but their Chinese menu is not my favorite. Any fried and sauced dish (orange chicken for example) will be over-breaded, crunchy and not in a good way and the sauce caramelized to the point of nearly hard candy, which solidifies and sticks to ones teeth. I have tried MANY times because my dad likes their house chow mein but I have yet to try a dish that wasn't greasy and stomach turning. It was super empty for lunchtime and I got a taro boba with regular sweetness which was considered 25%, the only thing I appreciated was the light ice but man. Reno + Boba were two words that could never be put together until now. Siu Asian Express is located under the same roof as Siu KBBQ. Walking into this location you might question if you did walk into a place that sells milk tea, but trust me they do. This was my second time visiting Siu for boba and I learned from my mistakes the first time. I ordered the milk tea with honey boba with only 70% sweetness because I found 100% to be a little too sweet for my taste buds. You have the options of choosing how sweet you want you drink. For Reno-Sparks, I would say this is the go to place for Boba. I have NEVER been a fan of any place that sells boba in town, but Siu Asian Express does the job and is worth trying out. In addition, if you're looking for a cheap snack they offer fried wontons for $0.99! This was quite surprising because you can almost never find an appetizer for that price. The fried wontons did look darker in color (burnt almost), but they tasted fine and was a nice snack to go along side the drinks. The service was great. Been here before for the boba and it definitely lacks flavor. Their teas are definitely watered down and tastes like yucky water with boba on the bottom. But I came back here last night when I found out they sold macaron ice cream sandwiches! I'm from Cali where we had that everywhere so it was a craving I needed to satisfy. Unfortunately once I saw how TINY it was, I was definitely disappointed. I'm used to an actual regular sized ice cream sandwich and this was $3! Double the price I normally spend. Went in because of the good reviews and was not disappointed in the Boba Milk Teas. The black tea definitely had a distinct flavor of roasted oolong. The boba was cooked perfectly, not too firm. On a hot day, an iced milk tea is really refreshing. I just asked to try the shaved snow; however, they said that they were not ready for it yet. They were still experimenting with it. They've set up a small area just inside the door where you pick up your food, they have hand sanitizer for you as well as clean and used pen jars (or you can pay over the phone). Has become my go to spot for Chinese. Very generous portions, and literally one of the only spots that puts a decent amount of beef into their Mongolian beef. I've had a problem with other spots overpowering the onions over the beef. It's called Mongolian BEEF, I want BEEF on my damn plate not just onions! Came here for the boba before sitting down for Korean BBQ next door. It's a small clean shop with a easy to read menu. I ordered the sea salt Vietnamese iced coffee with honey boba at 70% sweetness. The coffee flavor was very good and strong. I think 100% sweetness would be too much, but 70% and lower would be a nice balance between coffee and sweetness. The boba stayed soft through out the entire meal which was great, nothing worse than reaching hard boba towards the end of your drink. The honey boba didn't have much honey flavor. My roommate likes to make boba soaked in honey so I noticed something was missing! Service was friendly and the staff was helpful at answering questions. They're definitely using run of the mill powders, you can see their supply behind the counter not sure what went wrong with this one. Popcorn chicken, Orange Chicken, and Chicken Chow mein were really good, thus the 3 stars! Stay away from the bubble teas. You've been warned. read more

Right now they only have 6-8 boba options, all tea or coffee based. However the server told me they would be getting more snow options soon. My family and I had the mao poa tofu, chow mein, vegetables dish, and general tso chicken. All quite tasty, but the general tso was very good. Great, thin slices of meat with crunchy coat, flavorful sauce and fresh broccoli. I've ordered the tso chicken to go too, but not as tasty because it looses it's crunch. Order it and dine-in. We were driving by on a weekend during lunch time, but we had our dog with us. I ran in and placed a to go order at the counter so we could eat outside at the tables on the side of the building. Pros: -Lunch specials aren't just on weekdays and it's an incredible value for the generous portion size. -Generals chicken was really good and reminded us of what we used to get back in the day at the Golden Fortune in the Eldorado, which we loved and have missed. Despite having a chili pepper icon next to the name on the menu indicating a spicy dish, I didn't find it to be very spicy at all and I'm a wimp. If you like it hot, I'd request it. -We got brown rice with our combos. It was cooked perfectly and no up charge! Cons: -Mongolian beef had great flavor, but the texture of the meat was off-putting to me. Like tough meat that had been tenderized, but it almost had the texture of a gummy worm. It bounced back at your teeth when you tried to chew it. -We chose egg drop soup with our combos. It had egg, tiny bits of tofu and mushroom, but was virtually flavorless. Okay so we've been coming here for a minute! We're from LA so when we saw that kbbq was coming to sparks, that was pretty exciting. But after coming here quite a few times it's safe to say that the customer service on the restaurant side isn't great. The other night we came in about an hour before closing and we were told "you might not have time to eat". Well yeah, we didn't know we would have to wait 30 mins for someone to take our order after we sat down. Then we ordered six items because we knew what we wanted and how much we would eat and we knew we only had 30 mins left, then we were told we could only order 4 at a time??? The waitress wasn't helpful or nice. Our receipts said Jazmin but idk if that was who our waitress was because she never introduced herself. We were never offered drinks or dessert or even a grill change once ours was too dirty and smoking too much. We literally had to call her over to our table every time we needed something. The busser for the table was way more helpful to us than the waitress. Anyways, Idk if her vibe was throwing the whole experience off but it wasn't good.
