My first time eating here. My first thought was pricey...but I'm in the mood for Pad Thai NOW so I ordered Veggie Pad Thai with extra egg and extra bean sprouts. I also ordered it extra sweet and it's still not sweet enough for me. Next time I'll order it made with hoisin sauce to ensure maximum sweetness. As for my thought that it is expensive...turns out, not really. The portion is huge. My bill was under $18 and two people could share this if they are not huge eaters or not starving. For me it will be 4 meals and that makes it less expensive than most frozen meals. It's very delicious. I asked for extra hoisin sauce in a cup to go! All meals come packed to go however they have a few tables so I'm eating a bit fresh before I leave. I like this system. I usually take food home. The best spot to grab a boba and lunch! I picked up some spring rolls and bahn mi yesterday along with a Vietnamese Coffee. So delicious and convenient! I like to call ahead when I'm heading that way. The Vietnamese Coffee with boba is just the right amount of sweet, packs a good kick, and their boba are perfectly cooked to be nice and gooey but not too soft and also not too dense. Their spring rolls are my favorite in town- they're HUGE! One order is truly enough for lunch, and they are well wrapped so they don't fall apart and don't leak. The peanut sauce is best with a little added chili paste. Their Bahn Mi are also super tasty. The regular one with ham and fatty pork is so tasty. Reviewing this place again. Just ordered BBQ pork vermicelli with extra shrimp and it's HUGE! I also got a Vietnamese coffee with oat milk and Boba. I always enjoy this place and the food and boba drinks are always fantastic. I ordered this over the phone today and the guy didn't tell me it was extra for the extra shrimp (I figured it would be but he didn't tell me how much) as well as extra for oat milk. Also, they give you "egg rolls" with the vermicelli that have shrimp in them! So, next time I will not order extra shrimp with this vermicelli. Overall, still happy with my purchases. read more

The interior design is modern and I love places that uses iPads to take orders because it makes everything so much faster. They had a variety of flavors to choose from and passion fruit with milk tea sounded great at the moment. I was unsure of their normal sweetness levels so I opted for 75% sweetness. On the first sip, it was a little too sour for my taste. I also wish the boba was not bland and cooked with more sugar. I also tried the banana milk tea with boba. The sweetness at 75% was perfect, but the boba was also bland. The blandness gave off the taste of bitterness because of the contrast of the banana and milk tea. Bit annoyed at today's visit. I ordered two drinks and a BBQ Pork Vermicelli. I was one away from my free drink on the stamp card and had another stamp card handy so they could stamp that one instead. The person working the POS, stamped the card and said something about not being able to combine(?), when I asked her to stamp the other card so that I could use the free drink some other day. There was only 3 shrimp so this was kind of heart breaking. The spring rolls fell apart after the first bit. The rolls were not rolled up tight, but they still had good flavor. If you're not familiar with boba shops, they're so popular in SF that you can find them there as you would find Starbucks. They churn addictive Asian flavored drinks with little chewy sweet boba balls that you can never get enough of. Also, if you're lucky, they will also have hot food available, which is always the perfect accompaniment to their drinks. Their boba balls are the best in town with lots of flavor, sweetness and the right texture. Other shops can have boba that's undercooked and flavorless. I ordered the taro smoothie which was not blended well enough, had big chunks of ice, and not enough flavor. With some adjustments, it would be perfect. I'll try asking them to blend a bit more. They have your usual boba shop flavors and I plan trying their regular milk tea. It's usually what people order when trying to assess the quality of the shop. The great thing about boba shops is your ability to customize your drink. There are lots of toppings you can add so try them out and find you favorites. Coconut and lychee jelly is bomb and Sea salt crema is heavy cream whipped with salt that people are crazy about these days. You can also regulate the sweetness level of your drinks so try their default and go from there with customization. The Vietnamese sandwich was loaded with bbq pork that had great flavor (sweet and savory). The only thing missing, which is kind of a big deal, were the pickled veggies(instead they had regular, fresh shredded veggies), mayo and sauce (every sandwich in SF always have these ingredients). Regardless, I loved the sandwich so much, I'd bring my own sauce to complete it next time. Service can use a little improvement with friendliness and speed of preparation of food. I love that their door was propped open and that the cashier was covered with glass. If you like using apple or samsung pay (touchless), they got you covered, but you eventually have to finish the transaction by touching the pad. At least you don't have to sanitize your cards. I will have to try the other goodies next time and I'm hopeful that they will be yummy. The springs rolls, fried rice, bubble waffle ice cream options all look legit. Stopped in here today looking for something to eat. I was originally looking to get some pho but the pho place a couple businesses down was closed so I decided to stop in here not really know what I wanted. I walked in and there was no one in there, so no line. I asked them if how was business. They said it was slow today because of the snow. I ended up ordering the Vietnamese beef sandwich and a horchata. The sandwich was very good. Good flavor, spicy jalapeños. I must admit, this is one of the best Vietnamese sandwiches I've eaten. I've found it. The perfect lunch combination at Tealeaf! So after my fried rice debacle, I went back to get that Báhn mì again, and decided to try the spring rolls and brown sugar boba this time! Words just can't express how much I loved it. Of course the Báhn mì is everything. -Fresh crisp veggies with warm bbq pork on a soft baguette. How could you go wrong? The spring rolls were fresh, crunchy, tangy from pickled carrots, and that peanut sauce! It's perfection. The brown sugar boba is amazing. It's a sweet unique caramelized flavor and with the molasses in the sugar, mixed with black tea and boba it was VERY good. I think I've found my current addiction for lunch, and I'm so glad I've discovered this place because I need it in my life now. The only bit of advice I'd suggest is still off with the stamp cards. The first time they didn't even offer one. The second time he didn't offer again, so I asked for one. But they were out. One day I'll get my hands on a stamp card, because I will be back. read more

Obsessed! I love a boba Thai tea with almond milk and a crisp, fresh spring roll! That's my usual go-to order. The spring and summer rolls are always super fresh and tasty. I've had orders of their fried rice and it's delicious. I think they should cut down on the amount of cooked onions in it but it's what gives it some damn good flavor, too. Ya girl has a bit of a lactose intolerance when my bowels choose to act a fool on occasion, so on a particular visit I thought I'd switch it up with trying to with almond milk instead of cow's milk. Gasp! I like it even better with almond milk now! Tea Leaf has a fairly good size menu for any degree of hunger. I have found that if I come for just a boba drink, I almost always end up leaving with some kind of food because their menu is just that enticing. The potstickers saved my experience I was really disappointed with the quality of what I ordered. I got the combination fried rice which is supposed to be chicken and shrimp unfortunately in the entire bowl that was a big portion mind you there was only one piece of shrimp. The fried rice was so saturated with black pepper you couldn't taste much else and this coming from somebody who is particularly fond of spices. Whenever I go to a new Boba place I always get the classic milk tea with Boba. Although the Boba was the right consistency which seems hard to come by these days with the new Boba shops in town, the flavor just was completely off mark. I'm not sure if the ratio or mixture was off or if the components of it were bad entirely. I could barely finish a quarter of it. Same with the fried rice. The potstickers however were cooked wonderfully and had a good flavor. They even had that crispiness which is a staple for the plate. When I walked in another customer had gone back inside and was speaking to a worker in a manner that was very endearing. The employees seem to know personal details about that customers life and was kindly asking about the well-being of a family member. It was nice to see the relationship of them the employee who was at the cash register was kind and patient while I decided on my order. I was not offered the punch pass but once I asked for it was given one. I did ask for a copy of my receipt and to my surprise was not charged a fee for using my credit card as his mentioned another reviews. The pricing of the drink was a bit higher than other Boba shops so I'm wondering if they absorbed the fee in the drinks itself. When you walk in you would think this is just a standard boba place but the food is actually really good! I tried the combination soup and my partner had the beef rice and they were both great. Although for me the shining star of our visit was the boba! They have a ton of different flavors for slush and snow boba, and they have teas as well. The screen was a bit overwhelming and the young man up front was so kind and patient with my questions. For that alone I would go back. The only thing I would change is more seating and different and quieter music. I felt like I was stuck in an elevator for about 30 minutes which was really annoying. I LOVE it here. Great little local gem. My family stumbled across this spot accidently hungry after a Target shopping trip. Their fried rice and chicken skewers are very good. Large portions. Just the 2 dishes fed 3 of us and still left a little snack leftover. My daughter is obsessed with this placed. And for a 9 year old girl, she's had a lot of different boba. Their beverage menu isn't as large as the boba tea spots you can find in places like Southern California. It's good though and the service is always great.
