    First time trying this place
    Crystal V.

This was my first visit to Asian Garden. I visited early so there was plenty of parking and I was seated right away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is spacious and has a nice set up, however, it does have a damp mildew smell.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got a Thai tea to drink and spring rolls. The tea was perfect, not watered down with a nice bold flavor and just the right amount of sweetness and cream. The spring rolls were also delicious! I was unfortunately disappointed in my Tom Yum shrimp soup. It was pretty bland and lacking in flavor. The broth was very watered down and I could barely taste the lemongrass. Overall, I'd give this restaurant another try and choose something different.

So glad we decided to stop here! My family and I decided to come down the mountain and try one of the few Asian restaurants there is in Alamogordo, we were NOT DISAPPOINTED! My husband ordered the Drunken Noodles and the Sushi Sampler (they have two size options). The noodles were jam packed with flavor and both him and my daughters thoroughly enjoyed the Sushi, my daughter mentioned the sushi wasn't fishy at all, she said it tasted very fresh and was pleasant to the palate. The yellow Curry and Chicken Thai Fried Rice also came in generous portions and were delicious and satisfying. The star of the show for me was the Hot Pot soup we ordered. It was $14, and was enough for three people. It comes in either shrimp or chicken and they have two broth options. We opted for the coconut milk one with cilantro and WOW WAS IT DELICIOUS!! Honestly, I will be going back for that Hot Pot alone. They have a variety of drink options, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The Thai Tea my daughter had was super refreshing and creamy. My husband and I had the Fuji Apple Sake and Pear and they were so smooth and sweet, the Sake was delicious. The service was great, our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable with her recommendations for food. The prices were $10 and up but that seems to be the norm nowadays. If you're in the mood for some Thai/Japanese food give this place a try. Step out of your comfort bubble and try out some new things from the menu, you might just surprise your taste buds! This place is a thumbs up for me.

We were very hungry after hiking in white sands national park and this is one of the very few vegan friendly places in the area. The restaurant was empty when we entered and despite that it took quite some time for us to get the order. The staff were very accommodating to make the food vegan. Thai places usually have shrimp paste and fish sauce as ingredients in many of their dishes and finding restaurants without them is usually rare. This place didn't disappoint us!

Ordered a to-go order. I always love to order the monkey ball I order 30 minutes prior to pick up time and so whenever I go there it's already done. I love their monkey ball And the people are nice too, good service.

Waited about 25-30 minutes to be seated on a Friday night for dinner. We got seated at the bar & it took an additional 10-15 minutes before a server came up to us to get drinks & food - so service was definitely on the slower side around here. But on to the stuff that matters... the food! The Thai Tea was delicious. I got the Thai fried rice & it was a good price, filling, and good. Honestly what made this dining experience so great was our group tried to pay, but it turns out someone had already paid our entire bill! I'm pretty sure it was a couple we had spoken to while waiting for our seats... regardless, it was such a kind act & it made up for the slowness of the service. For Alamogordo, this place is 4 stars. In a major city, it would be about a 3 star but there's not too many options here & for that, it received a higher rating. Also had to bug the server for refills on drinks a couple of times - I think this place honestly needs another worker or two and things would run a bit more smoothly.

I'll admit I was a little skeptical at first since there aren't a ton of dining options in the area and I had already had a disappointing experience at another restaurant earlier in the trip. As soon as we walked in though, my first impression changed. The place was very clean and organized, we were greeted right away, and seated quickly. Service was friendly and efficient from the start. I ordered a Thai tea and the egg rolls as an appetizer, while my coworker got the potstickers. Both came out quickly and were hot and fresh. They each came with dipping sauces, but there was an orange sauce on the table that reminded me of a spicy mayo and was really good with everything. For my meal, I ordered the ramen stir-fry, which was savory and flavorful with plenty of vegetables, protein, and a generous portion size. It definitely left me satisfied, and my coworker enjoyed his meal as well. Overall, it was a great, quick dinner experience - clean restaurant, friendly service, and good food. If you're ever in the area it's definitely worth checking out.

The desk ladies at our hotel gave us some delivery menus and we chose bowl to go. The first two times I called it rang for ages & no one answered but I later found out their computer systems had gone down. I was positive we weren't ordering pizza so I tried again & got an answer. I ordered the Teriyaki garlic shrimp, teriyaki noodle side & a Dr. Pepper. They said it would be just shy of $15, pretty reasonable for the amount of food they sent & it arrived after only 20 minutes! The Teriyaki noodles were amazing!!!!! Whatever they had in their teriyaki sauce I would love to know it was a bit sweet, nothing like a store bottle of teriyaki sauce. When I opened my teriyaki garlic shrimp & fried rice it was full of veggies which I had ordered to leave out. I called the restaurant back & asked if they had sent someone else's order and they apologized and had a new one out to me in ten minutes. They threw in some soup & a spring roll because of the mess up which was very kind. They didn't have to do that. The teriyaki garlic shrimp didn't taste like teriyaki or garlic but I love shrimp so I didn't care. The fried rice was good, a different flavor than your typical Chinese buffet, it was sweet, whatever sauce they're using they should bottle it because it's wonderfu. All in all I was extremely full & satisfied. Great little place.

Don't make the same mistake that I made and think that suffering for at least a day in terrible pain is worth only spending a few bucks on lunch. There food quality is clearly really bad. The chicken comes out in perfect cubes...tell me that isn't odd. They were out of half of their soft drinks, too. I had to pour lots of soy sauce on my food to make it even slightly tasty. Maybe they have improved over the last couple of months, but I just thought there needed to be an honest review up here.

So the food seems "clean" - no msg or other junk added. However, it was virtually tasteless. I mean, c'mon, add some garlic, onion, ginger, chile,... there're hundreds of options to add flavor. So yeah, food was bland. First time I got the chicken katsu bowl. The chicken was a bit bland, like the chicken itself had zero seasoning, not marinated for flavor, nothing. The breading was ok. Tempura was ok. Second time, I got Sweet and Sour Pork Soba. It wasn't breaded like most places, and that was ok, because I am Keto. But,... I was also a bit glad that there wasn't a lot of sauce, which is usually sugary elsewhere. However, the sauce in hand, was just like water with a little bit of redish something or other. Sweet and Sour is literally sugar (or SOMETHING sweet, like, perhaps, pineapple... ) and vinegar. This was a bowl of Soba with ten, maybe, 1/2" square chunks of tasteless pork, and 2 TB of cabbage. Bland. Unspiced. Boring. Would I eat there again? Probably not. Unless I was more in the mood for "clean" food, then tasty food. It IS possible to do both!
