I first tried this business after dodging a disingenuous situation with another shop. I heard about Curtis from a former colleague. I [thought I] needed a cat converter installed and so I decided to give him a try. Unlike the last shop, Curtis and his team actually took the time to assess the vehicle and find the actual issue--as opposed to just throwing parts at it and wasting my money. Not only that, but they took time to TEACH me what the problem was (I didn't need a whole new cat converter. I just needed a tune up! This is also how I found out just how much I almost got played by the previous shop). This was a game changer, because 1) he saved me from spending WAY more $$$ for parts and labor, and 2) demonstrated that he could be trusted with with my automotive ignorance when I otherwise *could* be taken advantage of. This was almost 15 years ago. Since then, I've taken my car to his shop AND referred family and friends with auto issues to him. I fixed my brake pads. The noise (high pitch) is gone, and I feel nice and safe after their service. They were super nice, friendly, and honest. The owner Curtis is also a professional car racer. I thought that I might get ripped off when I bought this guy's "used" race motor for my own car... nothing could be further from the truth! Many years ago I met Curtis before he had a shop and I purchased his used fully built LS V-tec for my blue hatch back. Many people remember that car and the horse power that it had from his old motor under my hood. I had that car and his motor for years and swapped out cams, ecu, etc. I shifted at 9,800rpms (Civic type-r cams).... The motor "never" came apart! I ended up selling that car to the grand son of a large potato chip company ($$$). I now live in Las Vegas NV and rarely speak with Curtis because I live so far away. My point is.... By my past posts I am normally happy with the service I have received from Asian Imports. Even happy that I was not charged while I decided what I was going to do in relation to my transmission issue. But the last visit really took a toll of my spirit and trust. I received my car back from the transmission repair (fine) ; my car is now idling high and burning gas, there is the loud vibration near my glove compartment which seems to get louder and louder when I put my car in reverse. Reason given after I took the car in was that the engine mounts may need to be replaced. I want to know why if a problem is found it cannot be addressed at the time or owner made aware of the problem. Well in the meantime I've taken my car to another mechanic and they have looked at the engine mounts and few need to be replaced plus the transmission mounts (reason for repair). Can the transmission mounts be deteriorating because of the constant vibration? Now my car must go back into the shop and get more service. read more

Curtis is a family friend who has been nothing but professional in the past; however, this time around he has taken over 3 weeks on my car to fix engine problems caused by a timing belt issue. I understand that this is major work caused by other mechanics' failure to recommend timing belt replacement in time, and so I could have overlooked the time necessary for repairs despite the inconvenience it has caused me; HOWEVER, when I got my vehicle back the engine was still dead! I'm torn because while he has been apologetic and promises to fix it, this should never happen!! Still giving 3 stars but have to add my very frustrating experience to counter the glowing reviews on here. read more
