NO. JUST NO. DO NOT EAT HERE. My husband and I went to try it out based on the great reviews and they must be by the employees or family because it is awful. We both came home after having dinner, started feeling a little "off". We both spent the evening in the bathroom being sick to our stomachs. If food poisoning is your thing, pay your hard earned money and go eat here. Husband had a couple crab legs which he mentioned in the restaurant seemed to be overcooked and water logged. I mostly stuck to the Chinese dishes and had the Orange chicken which initially tasted good, but clearly my stomach did not agree. Panda Express has better Chinese food and it has never given me food poisoning. Steer clear of this buffet. read more

Their food is always delicious and warm. I like the consistency however often times there is a lack of variety. Affordable pricing and me and my two-year-old girl here often. Coming from Houston living there for five years, I have been to China Star buffet and there is huge and made your variety of food so that is why I'm giving it four stars. read more

This is the worst restaurant I've been to in a long time. Everything was burnt or under seasoned. We paid 51 dollars for 4 people and not a single one of us finished a plate it was disgusting. Ridiculous pricing and limited selection of sushi that was warm or old. read more

The food was fresh and really good for a buffet. There was a huge selection. My kids have been asking to return. I was a little disappointed because I called ahead of time to see if they had crab legs and they said yes but when we got there, there wasn't any. For four adults and one child it came out to about $75. Tried to use a coupon and the cashier gave me a card, buy so many buffets get one free or something. We will definitely return. read more

No, no....goodness, NO! I'm assuming with all of the "great" reviews, the majority of the below consumers has eaten here on the weekends. To be fair, this review is based off of my visit here on Tuesday lunch. I love Chinese food. I mean, I really LOVE Chinese food. To the point that I go to markets to create fresh recipes. Nothing takes the place of fresh, made to order Chinese dishes, but every once in a while, the appetite arises for cheap, AYCE, Americanized Chinese buffets. With that being said, one's expectation must not be too highly elevated. So obviously, this goes below the bar. The pros- restaurant was very clean. Food was constantly filled when hot plates were emptied. Server was good and not overly attentive. Decor is pleasing to the eyes. Many entrées available to choose from. The cons- though there were many entrées to choose from, it was a bunch of nothing. 21 ways to cook chicken, yet they all taste the same..... Texture of meat gave gag reflex. Sweet and sour chicken was beautifully fried with dry chicken breast inside. And the beef..... I cautiously call it "beef". The origin of this meat is questionable. Pink interior, and not because it may have been cooked 'medium' rare. I think this is the color of the 'beef'. Tasted like meat filler. I'm no expert but I'm smart enough to know that this isn't right. The other dishes, lo mein, rice noodle, shrimp this, something that, were VERY bland. Pretty big salad bar with pretty much of nothing. Not even the choice of fruit was desirable. I made 2 trips to the bar with scarce food on my plate in the attempt to try everything until I reached something satisfying. Sad to say, the egg drop soup, Pepsi, and ice cream cone were the highlight of my lunch. Later afterwards , I had a sick feeling to my stomach throughout. Not because I've eaten something bad or spoiled, but because I filled up on food that was very unsatisfactory to my palate. Was this the worst buffet I've ever had? No, but they are runner ups with the little boys. I was driven to try this place out based on all of the good reviews and I'm not discrediting the people! Maybe it IS better on the weekends. Surprisingly fresh and tasty buffet. Large variety of food without compromising quality. Even the sushi is pretty good. I don't think you can find a better place for the same price. Also has hibachi grill, which we didn't try since the sushi and buffet were so good. We came in on a Friday, just before 4:00. Usually, we avoid any type of buffet at this time (because usually food is just leftovers from lunch) but we had a long day and my husband wanted an Asian buffet. Well, the food was FRESH and very tasty! The lo mein noodles had a great flavor and the crab legs were delicious. Also, the sushi rolls were awesome. The selection is a little small, but it is fresh and tastes ok. The price is right, and they offer great deals. Service is usually good (but we've only been 3 times). It's always got quite a few people, and the food is consistent. Being asian food lovers our expectations are a bit high. I'm giving it a little higher rating due to them constantly being consistent and checking the freshness of their food (alot of buffets just dump it and leave it...we constantly have someone tending to the food here). I've most certainly had alot worse. It's nothing phenomenal, but after a long day of shopping sometimes you just want a quick bite for a good price- and food court food just doesn't cut it. this place really is a-ok. its in a really great spot so yay for them on that. its decorated fine and the bathroom is really nice and clean so thats a major plus. the staff here are very friendly and tend to your water needs. food wise. it was good and okay. the selection is ehh could be better. the sushi is not good here lol. the dessert was...hit and miss...the dry dessert like cookies and stuff are really great. but the wet ones like cheesecake are...disgusting... id come here again if i had to. but thats only if im in the area. read more

My family has eaten here numerous times but this visit began differently. The sign in the front is very specific to times and prices. We walked in and the clock on the wall said one time, while the manager's phone clock stated a different time, all before 3:30. I asked for the lunch buffet and was told that dinner buffet was in process. I showed the manager his sign about the dinner prices beginning at 3:31. He argued for a solid minute, then showed me his clock that showed 3:31 and said, "It's dinner!" I decided to stay because my family was hungry, but the principal of the matter was to follow your own advertisement. The waitress agreed with me and said that this happens all the time. This place is just a typical Asian buffet. Prices are steep for the area. And the manager is so annoying. I came here I eat dinner with my family not him and I'm pretty sure in his blabbering of minimal Spanish he insulted me in some way. When I was taking my time to decide if I wanted to eat with the very kind hostess he shooed us away making us not want to eat there anymore. Other than the bad manager I would say the other staff isn't bad at all. Great waiters and hostesses very accommodating. A little loud though especially with all the managers shouting in Chinese. The great thing here...NO MSG!!! That's what they claim and advertise, and the entrees DO taste differently than most Asian selections. At $10.49, they are a bit on the high side for buffets, but still, with a 10% discount, they are pretty good for what is offered....and they have a great selection! Would go back! read more

This place was great. The manager was kinda annoying cause he sings n kinda loud and super friendly, i just wanna eat in peace, but other then that the service is great. Food was fresh and flavorful. But like the other review said this place does get busy so you gotta snipe your food ( oyster, crawfish, clams, and frog legs) are gone fast when it comes out. Also another cool thing was the sushi chef will make u a roll if u ask, if u see something u don't like. Didn't try the habachi grill but did see people line up to get food made. The staff is super friendly. My waiter actually gave me a hug on the way out, it was sort of awkward at first but when I realized he was being sincere it really touched my heart and made my day. They advertise that they are $5.99 for lunch specials but they will charge full price. Also if you want to use a coupon must print out. There is a language barrier between customers and work staff. Tables were dirty and sticky. Since food was said to be "special" they uncharged the buffet. Be sure to ask for price when sitting down or else they will charge you whatever they feel like. Also a couple of days later I had food poisoning...I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Actual score: 3.5 stars I visit this place for the Mongolian grill, mostly. The other dishes in the buffet are not that authentic, and some are bad quality. The employees are nice, though, and the restaurant is clean. It is sort of loud in there.
