Service was fine! Not as trashy as the comments suggest... at least for me. Food was decent. Not amazing but not horrible. Happy with the portion compared to price. Decor and vibe inside is funky fun, tons of sharks and seafood hanging about.

We came here for a late dinner with our family. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entry. The atmosphere is colorful, fun and family friendly. Our kids really enjoyed looking around at all of the decorations. Our drink and appetizer order was taken and received in a timely manner. The same for our dinner order. The seafood tasted amazing and the seasoning was awesome. We got the house seasoning which is medium in heat and just right. Our waitress was Courtney and she was very attentive and friendly. We will certainly be back again!

Review Laughing Crab is located at Northeast Mall. It replaced Bar Louie's. This restaurant has been open exactly two weeks as of today. I think it's a great addition to the mall. The customer service was great, cute pirate themed decor, food was served fresh, hot and it was tasty, and band was okay. On a scale of 1 to 5, I give ghis joint a THREE!

We ordered the boudin egg rolls, boudin sausage appetizer, alligator appetizer, and crawfish with the voodoo seasoning. Everything was really flavorful and well seasoned, and the crawfish had a great kick. The appetizers were perfect for sharing and made it easy for everyone to try a few things. They also did a nice job accommodating our larger party. Our server was friendly, attentive, and handled our table well, which isn't easy with a group that size. The only thing that stood out was the manager. He didn't greet any tables while we were there. At one point he brought a dish to our table but didn't say anything, and later spent quite a while standing by the bar on his phone. It didn't negatively impact the service we received, but it did leave us a little unsure about the management presence. Overall, we had a good experience and enjoyed the food. The staff we interacted with were great, but management left us wondering. We'll still come back for the crawfish though.

I think it could be updated a little bit but I do love the stained glass windows and giant fish tank , beautiful touch. The service was outstanding. Our waitress was informative, attentive, and kind. She made sure we were well taken care of and answered my menu questions. We ordered fried mushrooms for an appetizer, baby boil with extra crab clusters and fried white fish with fries and green beans. All of the food was great! I noticed the hush puppies that are brought out complimentary are balls instead of the sticks, that's kind of a bummer! But they were still tasty. I didn't care for the shrimp on the boil but the crab and potatoes were great. Next time I will just get the crab.

Review for Catfish & Company…read more On Friday, March 13, 2026 around 1:00 p.m., I experienced some of the most inattentive service I have ever encountered at this restaurant. I was seated in a section where a waitress appeared to be focused on a large group of "Red Hat" ladies. She brought me an Arnold Palmer and hush puppies, but never returned to take my order. When my friend arrived, I informed her. She acknowledged us and said she would be back in a few minutes. What happened next was astonishing: she proceeded to serve multiple tables around us while completely ignoring our booth. Not once did she stop by to take our order, apologize for the delay, or even acknowledge that we had been waiting. Watching every surrounding table receive service while we were treated as if we were invisible was beyond frustrating--it was simply unacceptable. What makes this even more disappointing is that my family has a long history with this restaurant. We have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, and retirements here over the years, which is why this experience felt so out of character and frankly disrespectful. To their credit, the assistant manager stepped in and reassigned our table to a male server, who immediately provided excellent service and salvaged the situation. However, the fact that a paying customer had to be rescued from being ignored at their own table suggests something is broken in the service culture. A refresher in basic hospitality--acknowledging guests, managing sections, and communicating delays--might be overdue. If I return, I will absolutely refuse to be seated in this server's section again--even if it means waiting. Because good food should never come with the side dish of being ignored. Just to the right of the sign were two Level 2 chargers. We each ordered two 2 meat plates, which included two sides. When we got home and opened the to-go boxes, we realized we had WAY over-ordered. We had enough for two meals for each of us! We had chicken and pork ribs, mac & cheese and flat green beans. It was very tasty with a sweet and spicy barbecue sauce. I spoke with the owner and thanked him for supporting EVs, to which he replied, "How could I not? It's what's coming. How could I not get on board?" He mentioned that quite a few of his customers found him on Plugshare.com and stop by regularly for a meal and charge. I had to Google "So mote it be."

I genuinely want this place to succeed, which is why I still give it chances every so often. Today (Feb 24, 2026) I stopped in with my daughter just to pick up sides. Many menu items were unavailable (we were told no greens), so we ordered cabbage, sweet potatoes, and cornbread. The total was about $15 and I paid $20 and told him to keep the change as a tip. Unfortunately, the food quality was disappointing. The cabbage was essentially plain steamed cabbage -- very underseasoned and more like cafeteria vegetables than braised southern cabbage. I actually had to go home and re-season and cook it further just to make it edible. The sweet potatoes tasted good, but they had a noticeable smoky/BBQ odor, like they had absorbed grease or smoke from the kitchen environment. The cornbread itself was very good, but the portion was extremely small -- basically a sample-sized piece. Considering I tipped $5 on a small order, it would have been nice to include an additional piece or two. The biggest ongoing issue, though, is consistency. Over the years the restaurant is frequently out of items and the quality varies visit to visit. The dining/kitchen area is also visibly worn and could really benefit from a deep clean and upkeep. I truly say this respectfully because I remember how good this place used to be. The potential is still there, but right now the food and overall experience don't match the prices being charged.
