Been looking for awhile for good Asian food. This place was a little out of the way for us to get takeout, but we were happy we went. The food was fresh and great tasting and the service was friendly. Out of the seven dishes we tried for the family, there were no complaints. The restaurant is in a strip mall and is very small. Food is great. After grat yelp reviews wait times are long. Inside seating is maybe 6 booths. We ate there tonight. My wife had the lemon chicken which was good. I had the general taos chicken which was ok. The egg drop soup was very good. Everyone we talked to raved about the orange chicken. If you don't mind a long wait time good place to eat. I typically eat at Asian Spice 2 to 3 times per month. This little restaurant is tucked away in a shopping center space and is a true gem. Known mostly by locals in the area is truly amazing. The menu at Asian Spice offers a wide variety of Asian dishes catering to different tastes. They have beef, pork, chicken and vegan dishes. They have great lunch and dinner specials. The restaurant itself has limited seating and is nothing special. I typically order takeout off their website. Pro Tip - even if their website says it will be 30 minutes, show up in about 15 minutes and food will be coming up hot and ready to go. Service at Asian Spice has always been impeccable. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and they are more than happy to offer recommendations and accommodate special dietary requests. They always make sure we have a great meal!! read more

What makes Asian Spice a little different from other restaurants of this sort is their food is lighter -- less oil, and they attempt to introduce some subtlety, even delicacy, into what they serve. They don't rely on neon-colored sauces or MSG (and I like MSG). You can tell they're really trying to set themselves apart in this way specifically; to leave you feeling less blitzed after you finish their food. As others say, the place is small, but I always order takeout anyway. Their whole operation can be observed (woks and all) from the restaurant, and they have an almost military efficiency which is admirable. The employees are professional. It is difficult to find fault with this place. It is possible that people actually prefer more saucier, sweeter, more MSG-rich Asian food -- nothing wrong with that. I've ordered take out from Asian Spice a few times. While it's decent food, I'm always surprised by the high ratings of this place. It's average Americanized Chinese take out. It's fine, it hits the spot. But overall the food lacks flavor in my opinion. I love its proximity to me and the food is always ready when I arrive, so I will keep coming back. We so had high expectations for this restaurant, especially after the recent article of it being in the top 100 Chinese restaurants in the country. We could not understand how in the world they deserved that as it was average at best. We love good Chinese food and have experienced some very good restaurants in Portland, Or in China Town and other areas. We had Sizzling Rice Soup that had no sizzle to the rice whatsoever and the broth barely had any flavor. Then came the Singapore Noodles and Mongolian Beef which were both average from what we have experienced elsewhere. The restaurants focus is obviously takeout as there was a steady flow. They don't offer beer or wine, so it's either tea or soft drinks, not a big deal, but to be just rated as in the top 100? Meh! read more

Asian Spice is our favorite for Chinese food in Tucson. The vegetables are cooked to perfection - still crispy! The portions are very generous and the prices are a bit less than most other such restaurants. My only criticism is that their lo mein noodles are thicker than I care for - but that is just a matter of style. read more

This has got to be the best Chinese restaurant dare I say in the area. IMHO this place rocks. I am so glad to see that this place is still open for Take out and delivery. Since I'm rarely in the area I make it a point to swing by here whenever I can. When it was open for dine in I would make the up to 45 minute drive to eat in. The service was always excellent and the food always fresh and full of flavor. Perfectly balanced flavors. Not to sweet, or salty just perfect. Gladly in this current environment they are still open and producing fantastic food. Orders are done right, timely and as expected. Fresh flavorful and pretty darn satisfying. Each single entree will serve two easily. Order several to share or to have a private feast. This place has a few entrees I haven't found elsewhere and all the "normal" fare. The best part is they still give you either free egg rolls or crab puffs with each order if you meet the minimum. They have lunch specials as well. But order a dinner entree. We ate at this restaurant maybe 5 years ago and it was amazing and authentic , so it's been a while , today we decided to make the drive (40 mins) again and placed an to go order . And I am quite disappointed with the food! Every dish I I got was nothing compared to what i ordered years ago . The spicy salted fish had way too much breading , and beef ho fun had zero flavors, the beef with snow peas was way over cooked, and the spicy salted pork I didn't remember it being a breaded pork dish, it was a shedded pork dish from what I remembered years ago . I ordered crab Rangoon and they forgot that . The service was great as usual , just not the authentic tasty food I remembered :( read more

This review is overdue! I've known of Asian Spice and dined here since 2016. Both my boyfriend and I have tried almost every dish on the menu (we come here at least 2-3 times each week). Although we have our favorites, but the food here in general is delicious. In my opinion, the Asian flavors in each of their dishes are very well balanced. Tiny place, great food and service! Only five tables, and we were lucky to get one at 1:30 on a hot summer Saturday afternoon. First pleasant surprise: the hot & sour soup was great! Most H&S soup is just hot and not sour; this had a nice sour note, and the broth was nice and thick. We had two lunch menu dishes: orange chicken and Kung Pao shrimp. The orange had a nice garlicky and smoky flavor to offset the sweetness. The Kung Pao was made with incredibly fresh ingredients, from crisp water chestnut to crunchy peanuts, fresh mushroom and zucchini, and some nice sized shrimp. We only get to Tucson every two years or so. I expect this to be quite the successful restaurant and will look it up next time we're here. read more

I want to give Asian Spice props for some damn good customer service. I placed an order online for my wife to pick up. A rough windstorm was rolling through and knocked out their card reader when she arrived to pick up the food. They let my wife leave without paying and said they would call later once the reader was online. Once the food was home, I noticed the crab rangoon was missing and I was not particularly happy with that. However, Asian Spice called for payment and asked if we had received the rangoon because they found an extra order lying around. I told them that we never received the order and they immediately took it off the bill. I was pleasantly surprised that Asian Spice took the initiative on this and more surprised when they offered to add an order of rangoon for free on our next visit. I went for lunch. Small for dine-in as others have noted. I was seated within 15 minutes. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken lunch special with hot and sour soup, veggie roll and white rice. My order was served quickly. The hot and sour soup was good but a bit thick for my taste. The veggie roll was good. The chicken kung pao was very good! My only minor complaint was the veggie pieces in the kung pao were large, I prefer smaller so I can get more than one in my mouth at a time. Others may prefer the large chunks. Overall very good balance of flavor and heat. They list hot, medium and mild as choices for the entre and the server said its served medium unless requested otherwise. I had mine medium and it is not too spicy at all. Tended to be less heat than average. Overall very good, I will visit again! read more

One word: DELICIOUS! I am excited to have a wonderful Asian restaurant in the area and so close by! This is on Cortaro Rd about 20 mins from where I live. I had the Beef Ho Fun noodle dish and it was everything I had hoped to have. Great dish with lots of noodles and beef and pan cooked for that extra flavor. We also ordered some chicken egg rolls, chicken lettuce wraps and Mongolian beef, with two Thai iced teas. Bonus: All orders over $40 gets a free order of eight crab rangoons, so we got those as well. We will absolutely be back for more of their delicious food. Stopped by when we were in the area and enjoyed ourselves. The place is small but clean and seemed to do a robust To Go service. It is classic American Chinese with a few surprise options like Pad Thai. The hot and sour soup was very good. It had a nice balance of heat, sour, and acid with some lightly fried wonton strips. The crab puffs and egg rolls we're good. Nothing extraordinary but solid and had enjoyable crunch. They were fried perfectly and the oil was clean. The main dishes, Mongolian Beef and Szechuan Shrimp had a good amount of vegetables and meat with sauces that were distinctive and what you expect from those flavor profiles. Everything was prepared well, nothing was too spicy or salty, very well done. The service was attentive.and the food came out quickly. We ordered Curry Noodles and Pad Thai to go and they were ready when we were prepared to leave. Overall, in terms of American Chinese it is on the better end of thescale. Everything was tasted fresh, with a good balance and nothing was too oily or salty. It will definitely be one of our go to restaurants of this style. read more

Great won ton soup. We also got the kung pao shrimp; excellent. The online ordering was super easy and professional/friendly service.

Staff is very friendly and quick to prepare. Good flavor on their food and very good portions. Website ordering is very convenient as well.
