Came here desperately craving a sandwich after a long hike. Their website, yelp, and google all say open til 5. Yet they are closed with the door locked and parking lot chained, at 4pm on a Thursday. Very disappointed, unreliable business. They need to either update their website or staff appropriately. Call before attempting this place!! Or go to jimmy johns next door. read more

It's a rare occasion when Yelp reviews differ so greatly from my experience. The staff was courteous and attentive. The deli cute and cozy. And the food presented adequately. With those details out of the way,let's discuss the food. I built my own turkey sandwich with cheddar, spinach, BBQ. We also ordered a Buffalo Chick. Both looked okay but the flavors and the wow factor were simply not there. My gauge of cuisine is whether I can create or exceed their creation. On this case I felt I could exceed. I upgraded my side to deviled eggs but they were bland to the point of almost no spices. We tried the pasta salad and it too was a miss. It may have just been an off day. It it surprises me that otherYelpers rated it so high. My friendly advice to the staff, marinate, offer decadent options like Foccacia, google some salad and deviled egg recipes and make them more bold. For me the friendly staff and clean restroom were my highlight. Well that and the magestic mountain backdrop. Hope this helps others. read more

We went back here for the second time and we were very disappointed. We arrived at 1 PM and they were out of tuna and thus no tuna sandwiches. They were also out of chips. No coffee and the water was good. We ended up with turkey sandwiches. I asked for my sandwich toasted dark and husband asked just toasted. His was not toasted at all and mine was lightly toasted. I do not know if I would go back here again. I guess I expected them to have things and they did not. read more

I just went in and bought a $12 sandwich with au jus sauce roast beef when they brought it out to me it came in a 4 oz container for au jus but only poured 2 oz. I asked the waitress for more she said I have to be charged for it so I talked to the owner asked him why he didn't fill it up and told me there's too much in it I have to charge you. I looked at him and said are you serious. For 2 oz of au jus sauce he wants to charge me a dollar. I'll never ever go back there ever again piss poor service by the owner. Reviews go a long way and I'm local I'll never go back again! read more

Very disappointing experience when I came a couple of months ago. I have a medical condition and am pregnant so I have to wear a face shield instead of a mask. The man making the food yelled at me to leave the building as I wasn't wearing a mask. I was more than 12 feet away from him or anyone. A young woman cane outside to wait on someone else and said he was the owner. She took my order outside. There was no sanitizing of the door handles or tables outside in between customers. Masks are not the only proper ways to stop the spread of a virus.... Regardless to say, he never apologized for his rude behavior and I cannot support a business who treats people with health disabilities and pregnant women like that. read more

Great sandwich shop! Right now only doing outside seating or take out. Very personable and friendly- even helping me with suggestions of sandwiches which all looked great! I had the pesto chicken panini and my husband had the Ruben and you can't go wrong with either of those choices. We have had such a great experience here in Flagstaff for a vacation. Despite the scares of COVID and social distancing, everyone has been super polite and friendly. We stopped today at this restaurant to grab a sandwich. From the minute we stepped in the door, it began. They were rude when we entered, rude while we got drinks, rude when we asked for the restroom key, and even rude when we were setting outside eating. I have never been a person to write a review and actually never have. My kids were actually shocked when I asked them to leave due to the way we were being treated. I understand that everyone is stressed due to the virus but if you are going to open your business, be courteous to your customers who are also trying to navigate this new world. What a cute nifty spot in flagstaff. I've lived here for 8 long years and never stepped foot into their establishment. I got the Baja sandwich and it was absolutely delicious! They had some large orders working when I placed my order but they did amazing getting other orders out after so kudos for the speed of service! I'll definitely come back when I'm downtown. Best Pastrami ever...lots of places don't give you that much meat so I ordered double meat... Sandwich was mile high like you might get an authentic New York deli. The marble rye was fresh and the spicy potato salad was delicious. Very impressed. read more

Tried this place for the first time yesterday and ordered the southwest turkey panini and thought it was just alright. I think it would taste better with a chipotle mayo instead of chipotle cream cheese. I liked that they had a lot of sides to choose from. I decided to go for the bacon and fig deviled egg which I was excited for because I love fig but really didn't like this I couldn't finish it. Best Sandwiches in Flagstaff! This deli sits right off Route 66 near the start of Flag, so it is more low key with occasional pedestrians that walk by. We sat outside to enjoy a beautiful Fall sunny day. They also have a table or two inside. Now on to the meaty stuff! The workers at Aspen Deli were extremely friendly and helpful, they let us know that all the Italian meats are from the East Coast. I kept that in my pocket but decided to go with the Jersey Girl sandwich and boy am I glad it did (it came with a pickle). It hit the perfect spot and was the perfect lunch before a quick hike. Get the Italian bread - which was extremely fresh, not too hard or not too chewy - just perfect. Also enjoyed a Caddyshack with the meal. Loved this deli and you should check it out! read more

Hey folks I have officially found a gem in Flagstaff. I have lived here my whole life and i'm a little bummed out it took me so long to find this place. I had a work meeting on a weekend and I was in charge of lunch. My go to sandwich place was closed so I searched Yelp to find another spot. I came across Aspen Deli and Was pretty excited I did. I go the Apple and Brie and an assortment of other sandwiches for the group. As soon as I opened up the package I knew I was in for a treat. The Apple Brie was amazing and the subtle crunch of the apples gave texture to the bite. The whole group dug in and the meeting became silent until all of the "Yums" and "Wows" started. Immediately I was bombarded with, "Where did you get this?!" I knew I had found my new favorite spot for lunch. I ordered over the phone and 5 sandwiches were ready within 15 min. They had a great vegan option and the chips were very tasty too. I have learned my lesson I have to follow the Yelp crowd and try new places more often. Thanks Aspen Deli. read more

Lots of 5 star reviews, but to be honest I don't see that. It's a tiny sandwich shop, with a few tables inside, and a little seating outside - right next to a busy road. The food was adequate, and service with a smile. Good choice of sandwiches and the like, but really nothing out of the ordinary. Prices were fair. Would I go again? Yeah, probably, but would also consider trying other restaurants in the downtown area. It was quick, relatively inexpensive, with adequate food. read more

There are only a few seats in Aspen Deli, so it's probably better as a pick up and go type of meal. We ordered the New Yorker, which is topped with balsamic vinaigrette. It was a nice touch, but it was a little overpowering. We also ordered the Jersey Girl. We thought both the sandwiches had very thick bread. We both ended up pulling off a lot of it to get to the meaty part. We also got a side of potato salad. It was a large serving, but it had very little flavor. It was in desperate need of some paprika or some other seasoning. It was freezing cold outside and hailing so we had to sit inside to eat, but it was so cold in the restaurant that it was hard to enjoy the meal. read more

I had the pastrami here yesterday (Thursday November 8) and I was really disappointed. I ate here a couple years ago and it was really good. But yesterday the bread was falling apart and stale, there wasn't enough meat and (my pet peeve) there was no ice in the soda machine. Flagstaff's food is overall pretty bad - why else would Subway, and other chains have four and five star ratings? - but this place is way below average on their best day. read more

They also have a location over at Dark Sky Brewing Co. Pizzicletta makes made-to-order Neapolitan pizzas. They have a variety of pizza creations on their menu. They also make their own gelato. We started our evening with a Burrata Caprese - a favorite of mine. I had my eye on their Diavola pizza while looking at the menu. It has both chili oil and honey pecorino to make it both sweet and spicy. Our server recommended adding pesto to it which was a great suggestion. I ended my night with a coffee gelato. Our overall Pizzicletta experience was wonderful. Seating here at Pizzicletta is limited so be prepared to wait a little. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.

WILL NEVER RETURN!! DISCRIMINATION AND HORRIBLE TREATMENT OF PEOPLE AT THIS PLACE!! I went to this place for the first time to buy a sandwich I was accompanied with my service dog who I need for a disability. I was approached very aggressively by a tall man who worked there told me to get out. I explained that my dog was a certified service dog that I need for my disability but he did not care and continued to harass me saying that my dog did not look like a service dog. At no point was my dog misbehaving and was wearing appropriate signage as service. This situation was intimidating and uncalled for. As a thin 5'2 woman of color with a disability, the interaction caused me huge distress. The way I was treated was beyond cruel and unjustified. This is clearly a VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW protections for people with disabilities, but just an overall such a wrong way to treat people. read more

Super nice folks running the place and I love a local spot. My sandwich (Jersey Girl) was really good (though not the best I've ever had) and I appreciated that the bacon was cooked perfectly on it. My husband reported his sandwich to be only okay, and the long wait to get our food wound up not feeling quite worth it.
