Their rates are pretty comparable to other companies in Portland and their services eek out the rest by a slight degree. Their 'membership' programs are also worth eyeing over if you live closer to the city and have consistent critter issues. I was a little disappointed with their preventative services (steel wool for mice was really minimal), however that could have just been my ignorance to the one-time process or an internal miscommunication. Aspen has been extremely helpful. We have them come every couple of months, but if we've had ant problems inside, they have come an additional time to help get rid of them inside the house. Although they usually can find where the ants are coming in, if not, they will come in and set little poisonous traps where the ants will take the poison back to their den. New to Portland, and was looking for regular pest control services for our property. After searching thru various Yelp and Google reviews, and scouring company websites, we narrowed it down to Aspen and another company. Called both to learn more about their services...Aspen was very clear, professional and thorough in their explanation of the services they provide, and what we could expect on an initial round of visits and why. Booking & scheduling was easy and prompt, with the first site visit occurring just a few days after first call. Purchased the 4-treatment contract: 1st visit with interior & exterior treatments, plus other ancillary service and inspections. 2nd visit to be done ~30 days later in order to break the "egg cycle" (we had some sugar ants). Then 3rd & 4th treatments would occur quarterly, thereafter. Each treatment would be $145. After 4th and last treatment, the recurring service would go to a quarterly cadence, with no contract. We liked these terms, so continued to proceed w/them. 1st treatment/visit: Colby came to our house and did a great job of listening to our immediate issue (with the sugar ants), and sharing relevant knowledge about them, and relating that knowledge to their process for treating that specific situation. Then he walked us thru the rest of their process for internal and external treatments. He was very articulate and generally had excellent interpersonal/customer skills, which is always helpful. He provided us with several gel bait ant traps and advised on where to put them, how to use them, etc. and also injected gel bait into specific cracks where we saw ants coming from. He also explained all of the chemicals/products that would be used, generally and provided other ancillary service like knocking down a wasp nest (which we didn't even know was there) and cleaning up some spider webs. He offered rodent control, as well, but we decided to skip that for now (as he'd also explained that there would be very obvious signs of rodents in the house, ie, droppings). He took his time treating all rooms, garage, and exterior/perimeter and then when he was finished he asked if we had any further questions or concerns. Overall, easy company to work with, great communication from start of finish of first treatment, and very solid on-site service. Would definitely recommend. read more

When RATS appeared in crawlspace of our rental house in Milwaukie for the second time, we quickly found Aspen Pest Control to help us solve our problem. We thought we'd dealt with the problem by putting in new crawlspace vents but that wasn't enough. Aspen quickly responded and the tenant reports that they were always prompt and courteous. Eventually, a dead rat appeared in the garage and then another died in a wall so the process was working. I had not noticed on Aspen's website that they also do exclusion of rats, or I would have continued with Aspen to finish that portion of the job. However, Aspen still made a courtesy service call when all was done, just to make sure everything was dealt with correctly.
