My rating is based on the time it took to order parts and actual repair time. I did not feel there was a sense of urgency in ordering the parts for my dryer and so I went a month without a working appliance. I am thank it was summer and things could air-dry much faster - huge disappointment. However, the techs who came all three times (yes, three trips) were very kind, very professional, and very informative. I called several times to check the status of the parts and repair times, and that staff was understanding of my frustration and appeared to be empathic. Receiving a survey asking about my "completed repair" is unbelievable because my refrigerator is still not repaired. I have been dealing with this issue since April, and after multiple service visits, the problem remains unresolved. Astro Appliance sent four different technicians, and none of them were able to fix the refrigerator. They all appeared to be subcontractors with different opinions, and no one seemed to know how to properly diagnose or repair the problem. In my opinion, they lacked the experience and professionalism expected from a repair company. American Home Shield assigned Astro Appliance to my claim, but the service has been a complete nightmare. A part was supposedly ordered months ago, yet the repair has never been completed. Now I'm being asked to complete a customer satisfaction survey as if the job is finished. It feels like the company is trying to close the claim without actually repairing my appliance. I would not recommend Astro Appliance to anyone. I wish I could give this sham excuse for an appliance company a ZERO! The freezer on our Miele refrigerator/freezer went out while we were out of town in early May. The technician sent didn't stay at the house for 5 minutes. He said it need a mother board and door switch on the door. He said the boss would call with additional info. There was not a call for over 2 weeks. I called them and the phone person said someone within the shop said it was a pre-existing condition (i.e. not covered) and they would call back. Again, we never heard anything from them. Long story short; I worked with the home warranty and they sent a second repair company that was competent. My original request for repair was submitted seven weeks ago and my refrigerator's water dispenser still doesn't work. The technician has made three visits and each time leaving after a few minutes saying that another part has to be ordered. It's been six weeks since Astro Appliance first came out to repair my washer. Today would have been their third visit if they had shown up. Appt 1 - came and diagnosed problem. Said they had to order parts. Appt 2 - never showed up. Appt 3 - came with new parts but said it wasn't enough and needed more parts. Appt 4 - never showed up. Appt 5 - never showed up. When they no show, there is no call or text to explain. I had to call them to find out what happened and reschedule. Several times I called but no one answered. It said their machine wasn't full and couldn't accept messages. The man who came to the house was kind and he did fix my dryer on the first visit. It's just that there seems to be no sense of urgency on their part to finish the work. They are contracted through American Home Shield. This was after we had a video call and the refrigerator was remotely inspected. Not answering phone. 7 calls today. This is Texas. The same ineffective and sloppy service can be expensive. Originally the technician did not keep the appointment and no one called. Secondly, when the technician did come, he could not make the repairs but needed to order a part. I had to wait two weeks for someone who knows how to install the part to be available. There was still a part that needed ordering after all, and I am still waiting. I requested a different technician. I had a licensed plumber check everything, and he confirmed the plumbing was perfectly fine. They sent Egor, who spent the whole time on the phone with Ronan and repeated the same excuse. He was extremely rude and ill-mannered, wouldn't even respond properly while standing in my house, and tried to raise his voice to tell me the issue was with the plumbing -- which had already been ruled out. Their customer service operates from an overseas call center and relies heavily on scripts without actually addressing the problem. Astro came out as part of a American Home Shield warranty. My switch on my downdraft vent is broken and they reported it as a missing part and because of that American Home Shield says they don't replace missing parts. The part is not missing, the switch is broken in two pieces. Now I have to wait on another contractor come out and verify that it's actually broken and not missing. I had a problem with my ice maker. Pavel came out quickly and after investigating the problem, he advised that the entire ice maker needed to be replaced. He ordered the new part and said he would contact me within 3-5 days. He followed up promptly when the part came in and came back to replace the ice maker which is now working great! Astro Appliance Repair is incompetent and lacks integrity. They were assigned as my service pro with American Home Shield in the middle of July. I had the unfortunate experience to have a dryer, dishwasher and microwave all break down within a week of each other. They came a week later and did the diagnosis and "ordered parts". I called a week later and asked for an update on the parts. The office manager said she would have to call the parts department and call me back. A week later, I called again with the same answer... she would have to check with the parts department and return my call. After this, she wouldn't answer the phone anymore. I was kind and respectful the entire time and really tried to be understanding of the process. I got AHS involved and they were able to make contact and Astro told them the parts were ordered. I continued to check every week and there was always a different arrival day for parts- they said they had received some parts but not others. I was giving them grace because I know imports have been weird. Then I called AHS again for an update after I received an email that I needed to contact them about my microwave/dryer. Mind you, now it is September 15, a full 2 months after I put in my work order. They said my claim was denied because Astro had reported to them that day SEPTEMBER 15 that they didn't order the parts because my microwave was full of mold and roaches and that my dryer line was clogged and that caused the failure on the dryer. First of all, NO, I don't have roaches or mold and my vent lines are cleaned regularly to prevent a fire. Secondly, WHY would they report this to AHS two months after they diagnosed the unit. They LIED so they wouldn't have to own up to why the parts didn't get ordered. So, I requested a second opinion. The new company came out the same day, diagnosed the units, ordered the parts and will be out today to do the repair. Less than 10 days from start to finish. Astro DID repair my dishwasher, but it took them two trips to figure the parts out and get it completed. I just can't figure out the audacity of this company to treat customers this way and to keep people waiting for months and then lie about the claim. Honestly, I spent enough money going to dry my clothes to have been able to purchase a new dryer. I was kind, patient, understanding and as flexible as I could have been. Totally agree with Wynette R. NEVER have I experienced such incompetence from a repair company. I have now been without a clothes dryer for 41 days out of 74 because of faulty repairs and diagnosis. Even faulty repair replacement product. I am luckY our house did not catch on fire. I have advised American Home Shield but obviously they are not vetting their repair companies as they should. They came out quickly and said they would return in 3-5 days once the latch came in. Would have to call and call and email over and over to get any kind of response. Then I would be told it was coming in a few weeks and then that date would come and go, this happened several times. Over 3 months without the easy latch replacement which they say they haven't received but I confirmed is widely available. Complete and utter incompetence. They came out 2 weeks before Christmas and the first guy had no idea what he was doing, didn't take the oven apart and left with a shrug. It wasn't until my wife called and spoke to a manager that they sent someone else out the next day. This person diagnosed the problem as the Control Panel. He told my wife he had to order the part and it would be 2 weeks. Then they called and said the part was in, 2 days before Christmas. The next phone call was one that they employee, apparently the only one they have, had car trouble and it would be the 29th of December before they could get here. After talkin to a manager they sent someone out with a CONTROL BOARD, not panel as earlier discussed. He changed that out and turned to my wife and told her he had to order a Control Panel, the original thing they came to replace. These guys are like the Keystone Cops, no clue whatsoever. Astro came out to repair an NXR Range and promptly sent a technician who diagnosed the problem. I spoke with them a week later after not hearing from them and they apologized and noted the part would be in within a week. I called back 10 days after the part was supposed to be in and the man on the phone told me they do not even service NXR appliances! I spoke with 4 different people during this month long ordeal and NO ONE said anything about them not servicing NXR, even the technician who worked on the appliance! It took a week for the new one to come in (which I understand) but 5 hours after he left, we noticed PLASTIC coming out of the ice maker! The tray that holds water while making ice has huge chunks broken out of it! I called to let them know and they said the would "notify dispatch" and get back to me. Upon checking the status of the claim it showed closed, stating the parts weren't covered under our plan. Where do I start. If I could give an 0 rating I would. American Home Shield(AMS) sent this company to my home to repair a gas smell coming from my Whirlpool dryer. Observing the technician the first time he came, I had my doubts if he knew what he was doing. After he was at my home for an hour, he tells me he'll see me next time( thru text message found out a part needed to be ordered). After he left, I looked up their review; 1 out of 5! I called AMS the next morning and requested another company to repair my dryer and why. I was told to let them come out a second time to repair, and if the repair was not done, another company would be sent out. They came, said part was defective, and another needed to be ordered. Came back a third time, didn't do the repair, said part was defective and needed to order another part. Long story short, that was the last time they came to my home. Then they claim my warranty. company wouldn't approve it but yet you were just out last week and they approved the repairs from the first request and now since you realized that you needed more parts, the warranty company has cancelled everything. they don't make any sense. my warranty company stated that they never submitted anything to them to recently which is a month later. I have kids and medication that need to stay refrigerated. They couldn't care less. then when I asked them what is the out of pocket expense, they said they don't know. WAIT A MONTH LATER AFTER YOU ORDER PARTS, YOU DONT KNOW HOW MUCH IT COSTS. THEY MAKES NOT SENSE.
