I used to live down the street so now it takes me longer to get back there. Kind of a safe, go to for classic middle eastern food. Everything I've gotten has been good for a fair price. This time it was to dine in with a friend for lunch. I got a small hummus app, lentil soup and a rice almond salad, add the chicken breast. The gentle who took care of us was very kind. The food is consistently tasty and the service is great at Asya cuisine. Asya is small family-owned restaurant that's more of a carryout spot than dine in place. My wife and I order the grilled combo for two which comes with chicken kabob (tawook), shish kofta, shawarma, fried chicken, a heaping plate of rice and pickles, and a sizable salad with tomatoes, onion, cucumbers in a tasty vinaigrette. All of that for $22 and we always have leftovers! The service is great and the staff are always friendly. The food tastes fresh and is made to order. Asya is the best middle eastern food I've found in the Madison Heights area and the best value. We order Asya food about once a week or so and have never been disappointed. read more

I got the chicken shawarma with hummus entrée, which came with rice and a side salad. I also ordered a side of grilled veggies, and the order came with pita bread. The food and service were amazing, and the food was soooo fresh! The woman who works there is so sweet and the price for all this food was budget friendly ($23 for all this food + tip). After some of our fave middle eastern places had changed since Covid, we were in search of a new place. So glad we tried Asya! Don't be deceived by looking at the size or outside of this hidden gem! The owner's wife greeted us with a genuine friendliness, and happily took time to explain the menu items. The food is outstanding! Fresh, quality ingredients. Meh. I was attracted to this place because of the reviews and it's close proximity to my place. I placed a carry out order and it was just okay at best. I ordered the combo for 2. The rice was on the dry side and wasn't flavorful and the meat was over salted. The pros include the portion sizes (large) and the prices are reasonable. The staff were also polite. My friend first go the wings from here and I wanted to try some, when I bit into them I was blown away the lemon flavor on them was immaculate. Growing up in Dearborn, it takes pretty good Lebanese food to impress me. I live in Madison Heights and have passed by this little place several times, meaning to stop in. As we were walking in today, there was a sign offering a $5 special of a sandwich and cup of soup. Sold! I got a falafel sandwich. Very filling, flavorful and with all of the accoutrements, and grilled afterwards. Might sound trivial, but it was wrapped up just right so everything stayed together. A messy sammich is fun for no one! Soup: crushed lentil, served with a lemon wedge. Tasted very fresh and it was slightly chunky. Perfect amount of coriander. Based on how quickly my business partner devoured his beef shawarma sandwich and vegetable soup, I think he approved. :) Someone definitely paid attention to decor; it's simple, clean and pleasant. More so than many middle eastern places, and especially the one farther south on John R. (LOL) Service was quick, can't beat the $5 lunch combo and both the chef and woman (manager/wife) checked to make sure everything was good. It was. I've eaten here numerous times. The staff are great! Very friendly and they do their best to get your food to you quickly. The good - Fatoosh and fresh juices are pretty standard, but these are good things. They have some nice lunch specials for around 7 bucks. The bad - I ordered a schwarma sandwich and though Iove garlic this sando was "No Es Bueno". Way too much garlic sauce. To the point that I'm scared to try another one. Maybe it was bad luck and I'll still keep coming here but only for salad, juice, and soup. read more

Stopped by Asya on a night out to meet friends and movie night. So this place was chosen on a whim and in short, it was pretty tasty and the service was stellar! Grabbed the meat dish for three, with some side apps and we were all stuffed. The ample quantity of the food were more than enough to sate the appetite of 3 people. Our server was very spot on and attentive, able to hover just enough to be very helpful (refilling drinks and clearing empty plates) and also provide excellent customer service by helping make dinner decisions for those in the group that might be new to the cuisine. The wife/husband duo was working when I was in. They were overly friendly and accommodating. The food was really good. I loved my sandwich when I got it and the garlic was good. I thought the hummus needed a little more garlic but it was decent for sure. Dinging one star because the food cold is not nearly as good. Got 2 sandwiches to go and they didn't keep at all. Wow wow wow wow wow wow!!! I am from San Diego and was visiting family last week. San Diego is full of great middle eastern food, but you have not had middle eastern until you had Asya. A friend had raved about the fattoush here. I had never had fattoush, so I asked what it was. Salad. Hmmmmm, I never order salad eating out. I can make salad at home. But I tried it anyway, then went back two days later for more! So, so good! Fresh, crisp, perfectly dressed, and it bursts with flavor. The shawarma is also delicious. They pack it separate from the salad so it doesn't steam your lettuce on the way home. Someone mentioned here that half orders are plenty, so the first time I came here, I ordered a half order of the chicken kabob dinner. If you are hungry, do not order a half order! I opened the box to find 4 bite sized morsels of chicken. So tiny that I had to break out my kitchen scale, 2 ounces of meat. It was good, and I loved the rice, but don't order a half unless you eat like a bird. Pretty good. Not as bad as the now-defunct Lialy Lebanon, but nowhere near as good as Beirut Palace. This restaurant gets 2 stars from me for the following reasons: - I was told on the phone that my order would be ready in 10-15 minutes. When I showed up at the restaurant 15 minutes later, not only was my order not ready, but I ended up sitting in the restaurant and waiting another 45 minutes for it. Good thing my employer isn't anal about long lunch breaks... - The falafel was dry - The spinach pies were dry - The texture of the hummus was ok, but it was very mild and bordering on flavorless There were some redeeming qualities; namely, the shish kafta and the grape leaves, which were very flavorful and fresh. Beyond perfect!

It's one of those days, I was craving for Mediterranean food. I've been a mainstay of the Dearborn restaurants although I live in the Royal Oak area. But again, it's one of those days, I don't feel like driving to Dearborn, besides my gas gauge says almost 'E' so might as well go to Costco in Madison Hts to fill up. Hungry and tired, my smartphone says there's 'Asya' nearby. Went in to try, place is simple with a few tables. I was hesitant at first but decided why not, I'll try it. Ordered the lemon rice and lentil soup, and it was amazing! Ordered the combo plate for two, and it was flavorful! All of a sudden I perked up in spite of having one of those days. The food is soo good, we even ordered a carry out. All I can say is damn you 'Asya', why did you open this amazing restaurant so close to where I live...Damn you 'Asya'! I placed a carryout order since I was going to be in the area and was in a hurry. When I arrived I was surprised to be told they had no record of my order - which was only a chicken shwarma. After discussing and assuring the owner I had the right place - I'd looked it up on Yelp for the phone # and the directions had brought me there, he concluded that a woman who works there had forgotten to put it in the computer. So... now I'm bummed because I was on a timeline, but he assured me he could make me a schwarma in 4 minutes and he did. I bought 3 baklava and as I was paying he threw in some pita & hummus for making we wait. The shwarma was too garlicy for me and I love garlic. I took the first bite and just went 'wow', it was overpowering. Oddly the hummus was bland - or maybe I just couldn't tell after the strong shwarma. The baklava were good. First time here and the customer service was great. The lady taking my order was very patience and helpful. It only took about five minutes to prepare my order, which was great because I was starved. I ordered the chicken shawarma lunch special which included a lunch portion of chicken shawarma, rice,salad, pita and garlic sauce. Everything was great except the rice. It taste as if it was reheated or undercooked. It could be a bad bunch. Overall I will try them again since everything else was great. read more

In my opinion...junk! Paid a lot for a very little. Lamb sautée was mediocre. I guess when your used to blow your mind phenomenal middle eastern cuisine nothing comes close.
