The woman answering the phone is rude. The lentil soup has way too much coriander and black pepper in it, yet it is somehow still bland. It has no substance to it. Tastes like lentils and water. With coriander. The parking lot and general area are way too busy to warrant coming here during the day. Don't waste your time (or money) with this place. read more

Well my wife and I got carry out from here. Both of us got chicken shawarma. I guess I'll start off with the good. Their salad dressing was really good, they could probably bottle it. I'd buy it. Their hummus was also fantastic. It was creamy and flavorful. Now the bad. I don't think my rice was cooked long enough it was dry and overly chewy. The chicken was also fairly dry. The garlic sauce was extremely bitter, probably from the green stems that were not removed. Overall we were disappointed. Won't be going back. read more

oh asya. i found you out of desperation for authentic middle eastern food that i didn't have to drive to dearborn for. i've grown tired of pita cafe in oak park and anyone who thinks beirut palace is good is most definitely a monster. so i did a yelp search about 6 months ago expecting all the usual suspects to appear and there you were, mashed in a sea of terrible middle eastern restaurants with 5 glowing stars attached to your name. my husband and i decided to dine in for our first time - the interior is nothing to be "wowed" over. its small and clean but certainly not sexy date night material. we were the only ones in there which naturally made me feel alarmed but once the food came out all of my fears were abruptly whisked away and i suddenly didn't care about any of the details of my atmosphere. because we are world record holders in eating, we ordered: hummus, meat grape leaves, lamb ghallaba, crushed lentil soup, fattoush salad, garlic spread, pickles and turnips. i think we ate it all in 10 minutes flat. it was all SO incredible! this was hands down the best lamb ghallaba i have ever had and the almond rice it came with was perfect. i consider myself a total fattoush salad snob and this was incredible. the dressing was absolutely the best part - so much sumac! the garlic is A+, the hummus is always delicious and the grape leaves! my goodness! i think my husband could have had 100 of them and still wanted more. we have since become devout fans of asya. we mostly get carryout from them nowadays and i have to say that it all keeps very fresh and warm from madison heights all the way to ferndale. i've also had their lunch deal a few times - a pita with a salad, soup or fries and a drink for 6 or 7 dollars. i've only had their chicken schwarma pita and it is very very good. and i have to add, the service is always excellent. it seems to be a pretty small crew in there, which i love. they are fast, super nice and really thankful for all business. i hope they stick around for a really long time! read more

I absolutely love this place. They are right next to work and you can get "half" (sufficiently filling) orders of entrees for $7-$8. I usually go with some regulars, so their staff treats us like family. The food is delicious, and I love the lentil soup and rice that comes with the entrees. I have not had an entree that I regret, yet. I may have to work my way through their entire menu. The place is small and starts filling up for lunch on workdays. In a city loaded with Arabic food joints, this one is up there. read more

This place is SO GOOD! I have probably gotten one of everything on the menu and it's always great. It's always fresh and it tastes homemade. Plus the owner is around maybe 75% of the time so you know you'll be greeted with a smile and everything will be quality! The food is just as amazing as going to Dearborn, and less than a mile from home! I'm really sad to be leaving the Detroit area because of it's amazing food and Asya is a big part of why! Nice to find some solid Middle Eastern food right by my house. Everything I've tried is right on point. I only have 3 complaints: prices are a little high, the bread is cold cut pita (not the hot uncut fresh from the oven type) and the hummus is too whipped and could use a little more garlic. The sandwiches are nicely priced at $4.50. I went in for lunch and ordered a beef shawarma sandwich and fries for $7. Both were served to me fresh and hot. The pita was so neatly wrapped, strange to say, but it was. Tasted great. Loved my fries too, straight from the fryer and perfectly cooked. I got charged 50 cents extra for ranch. I don't like when restaurants charge for ranch. Why is ketchup free but ranch not? It never made sense to me but no big deal anyways. read more

I really like this place. I have got a carryout twice, both times it was great. The place is very flexible. You can substitute hummus for rice, no charge. Want a fattosh salad instead of house no problem, small up charge. Everything has been seasoned perfectly and the staff is always pleasant and takes the time to explain things and help you select. I went back about two weeks after my first visit. The first time, I came in at night with my husband. The second, around lunch time with a friend. As soon as the owner saw me, she said, "Oh good, you came back!" When she came to our table to get our order, she looked at me and said, "Are you getting the lamb shank again?" Come ON, are you kidding me??? I was beyond impressed that she remembered. And yes, as a matter of fact, I DID get the lamb shank again. And yes, it was every bit of perfection as it was the first time. So good! My girlfriend loved it too. Seriously, if you enjoy middle eastern food at all, give this place a try. Five stars for what it is: excellent fresh food, prepared quickly in a convenient storefront location. Took my Mom here for an impromptu lunch and had to try the lentil soup after reading the other reviews; it was just as good as promised. Hummus was fresh and of a great consistency; smooth without being creamy and not too garlicky. Falafel with pickled veggies was a nice dish and Mom loved her stuffed grape leaves. I've had better flavored hummus and more moist stuffed grape leaves, but the food was still very good. If you enjoy consuming food, this is the place to do it. The portions are gigantic, the prices are affordable, and the food is crazy good. It's turnips! Got the combination on the back of the menu and I was floored by the portions and how flavorful everything was. The meats were all cooked and flavored perfectly, the rice was firm and delicious, and the best of all is definitely the garlic sauce which I drank like it wasn't a socially awkward thing to do. The finest Lebanese food you're going to find anywhere. Why not just eat here and pay less for it. I could not believe the quality and the super prices. What a deal. What amazing food. The owner Asia (Hence the name of the restaurant: Asya - to not like a Chinese place) was so sweet and helpful. I love all Lebanese food so I just let her pick for me. I had the Chicken over a bed of hummus with basmati rice. omg it was delicious. My wife had the lunch special lamb kafta. Then baklava for a buck to top it all off. Portion sizes were all large. Crushed lentil soup was heavenly. We will return here every trip to Metro-Detroit. Detroit has tons of Lebanese/Mediterranean restaurants but this one is a stand out. It is not fancy but if you want fancy go pay lots more somewhere else in Dearborn or Royal Oak and get food that is not nearly as good. read more
