I have been an AT&T customer for a LONG time, and have interfaced with many AT&T employees, so I know what I am saying when I say that some people are much more helpful than others. We live near the La Jolla store, so I have come to rely on Leah, the manager there, to solve all of my phone problems. She is honestly the best AT&T employee I have ever encountered. She patiently explains things and communicates all of the details. She helps me choose a plan that works best for my needs, and find me new phones when I need them. She trouble-shoots and works incredibly hard to figure out whatever is wrong. I feel like she CARES, and this is such an excellent thing. AT&T has fierce competition from Verizon, and many of my friends have switched. If AT&T can recruit and keep excellent employees like Leah, they will thrive! read more

I can't say enough good things about this location and it's employees. I have been coming here for years with any and every phone issue I've had, which has unfortunately been A LOT (usually my fault - washing machines, toilets, thieves (neither mine or Apple's fault) , etc). Daniel has always gone above and beyond to help me rectify the situation. QUICK, PROFESSIONAL, HELPUL and HONEST. My dog loves this location, too. Daniel insists I bring Sunny each time. If you need Apple help or need to purchase a phone go to an AT&T Corporate store. Avoid this Retail store not owned by AT&T. They are understaffed and if there is a problem they offer no help. I was told the manager would call me back regarding an issue with one of our phone lines and he never did. That is after two calls to the store and 2 hours in the store on Sunday. They offer terrible customer service. I finally had to correct the problem they caused by calling AT&T myself. read more

Terrible service. Came in about an hour and a half before closing trying to do a simple phone carrier switch to my new device. All I needed was to swap the sim and activate my phone. Employee made comments that made me feel like it was the most difficult procedure in the world and that he would have to call management to come in the next day to help him and I would have to come back another time. Made me feel like I was wasting his time. He started doing some sort of complicated procedure on my phone and then said he needed a pin from my old provider. I went to the parking lot right out front, called my provider, got the pin, and then watched the employee lock up the store 35 minutes early leaving me out of luck with a half transferred phone. I then went to an actual ATT branch store and they told me that he had done something to stall the transfer and they had to make some calls to figure out how to undo what he had done. They were very kind and gracious with their time and told me the La Jolla store was a satellite and not branch store, explains the terrible service. Is a phone activation not a daily occurrence at an ATT store??? Could not believe the service and unprofessionalism with closing early and stalling my phone half way through a transfer. From the moment you walk in, the energy you get from the employees is "I'm so pissed that you just came here" I've been to this location 3 times and each time the women working had their own personal laptops and iPads out paying half attention to those walking in. The women have been condescending, and rude with tons of short temper. I left and drove to the San Diego Hillcrest location and was treated like family. It's a shame as this location is walking distance to my house. The staff need courses in customer service. read more

Finally someone who know what they are doing . Andy was professional , polite and patient. I have been on a long journey trying to get my daughters phone fixed. My lack of knowledge didn't help. Turns out I had insurance and just like magic and instead of giving me a pamphlet or a website. Andy spent the time and filled out the info for me. It took 5mins. The next day the phone arrived ! I took my daughter and 3 year old son into the store. He put the cartoons on for my son and help my daughter transfer for her information to her phone. Boom done. all in two days. So...has anyone ever written a good AT&T review? My mobile contract with AT&T provides that I can upgrade to a newer version. Problem is that when that happens Apple doles out very few phones to AT&T at a time. So when the new IPhone 13 came out I called the local La Jolla AT&T store to see if they had any and was told they had a few at about 11am on a Sunday. I told the salesperson I lived less than 5 mins away and was leaving, please save one for me. Arriving in less than 5 mins, I waited behind a couple people for 5mins, then asked for the phone. The smartass salesman tells me laughing loudly and proudly that he just sold the last one. I said I'd called ahead. He laughed again and said happily I should've come sooner. I was pissed naturally. I said it was yet one more thing to hate about AT&T. He smirked and said then take your business somewhere else....all in front of a store full of people. I can understand almost all of this except this jerk's attitude. Here's hoping millions take their business elsewhere! read more

Do not use this store if you expect any customer service following your purchase or opening of account. This location is an "authorized retail store" but not an official company ATT store. This store is in the business (and financially incentivized) to open accounts/sell equipment. Beyond that, you are on your own! I opened a wireless hotspot account to be used at a remote location. When the sim card did not work, I called the store for help. I could not get anyone to return a call. Then when I called the main ATT help number, they could not verify my identity and provide support, because this store did not complete my account information correctly during setup. As a result, I had to drive 2 hours to the closest ATT store while traveling. Even upon return from my trip, I attempted to return to this store to close the account as it never worked due to the wrong Sim Card. Again, they would not assist me, said they weren't authorized to even pull up my account, and I had to visit a "real" ATT store. They were extremely rude!!!! Don't waste your time as these folks are just looking to get their commission for a new account and beyond that, will treat you poorly...you are out of luck. I suggest the ATT store in Clairemont Town Square - 100% better and a true ATT store that provides customer service. read more

Elena was great! She listened to my issue and helped me get a new iPhone 7 plus with no problems. She sat with me for over an hour and clarified all questions I had. She was so friendly and patient. She guided me as opposed to selling. She never made me feel like I had to buy something. Elena was super helpful and kind. She is a professional in what she does and was very knowledgeable. Awful. Take my advice and go to the AT&T store in UTC. The wait will be longer, but every minute spent waiting in line at this location is worth avoiding the location on Pearl St. The Pearl street guys are making commission I'm sure. They tried to sell me a "free" tablet 5-10 times, each time after I politely told them I have no interest. I was told my new phone would be mailed to me within 5 business days... 10 days later I called inquiring as to where my phone was at. I was told they would look into it and call me back in an hour. 3 hours later I called back, was told they were busy and would call me back before closing. No call. The next day I called again and spoke to the same guy who forgot to call me back (twice). He told me he didn't call me back bc there was nothing he could do and was waiting on HQ to fix something....good reason to not call a customer back? He tells me my phone will be mailed hopefully the next day, if not, 2-3 days the absolute most. 3 days later, still no phone. It gets better.... 3 weeks after my original purchase of the phone I still hadn't received my phone in the mail. I went back to the store spoke to the same guy, Daniel I believe, and told him I would like a phone...ANY phone at that. I ended up getting a phone, although I had to pay a second time for it (but was refunded a few days later). Thought that was the end of my problems until I received my first bill. $300 for one month (I was on the plan for 10 days, not even a full month). The whole experience was and is a total disaster. HQ is working on helping me and are being extremely helpful, so I will likely stick with the company. I wish I read these reviews prior to going to the Pearl St. Location. Lesson learned. read more

I went to this ATT store to get an upgrade on my phone. Usually I go to the Apple Store. MIGUEL helped me upgrade my phone and then he "traded in" my old phone. What Miguel did is he STOLE my phone. He gave me a $20 credit on my bill and took my phone home to sell. I only happened to find out because I went back to take him up on his offer to BOGO. The deal had expired and there was no record of my old phone. The manager called him at home. He had my phone AT HOME to sell!! She profusely apologized, said there would be disciplinary action taken against Miguel, and magically was able to get me the BOGO "expired" deal. I went back today, and guess who was the only employee there? MIGUEL. Selling phones. By himself. DON'T GIVE MIGUEL YOUR PHONE FOR A TRADE-IN. He is a liar and a thief. Why is he still there? I am dealing with corporate on this, but since this is not a corporate store, only an "authorized dealer", they are independent and apparently not held to the same standards as a corporate store. read more

Not worth it. This is a third-party store, not a company store. I was charged $20 for a new sim card instead of receiving one free from a company store. Of course, they were not helpful enough to tell me that. This store is all about making money for themselves and upselling customers. They are helpful when you need information, but if you are purchasing anything or need a physical item, do not come here. Also, I told them about bad service I was getting (turns out because my phone wasn't 3G enabled, so couldn't get service from 3G towers), and the kid who works there told me in not so many words that I just needed to spend hundreds of dollars on an iphone. read more

So I accidentally tried to set up my HTC as a mobile hotspot and some how got myself needing a new sim card because i had an old one i got in europe previously. Walk in and the manager says no problem and hooks it up with a new chip. All done in under 10 minutes. Not to mention a nice guy. read more

I have only been to this store twice but got great service both times. The first time was to buy an iPhone, the service that day was excellent as the guy behind the counter walked me through all the set ups and plans for both my phone and my son's. Today I went back, different guy, Spencer, but same great service. After I updated to the new OS I was having issues with logins and settings. He VERY patiently walked me through all of the set ups and now I am up and running again. His manager, Daniel, promotes great service.
