The store is great there's an agent there named Jess she's amazing her customer service is above and beyond. This is mainly about AT&T in general. I did a trade in last year when I got AT&T, I have been receiving a credit from my old phone, which in pretty much brand new condition I went to go upgrade my phone which I had paid off, but it turns out I still had a credit of $472 left and if I was to upgrade my training my current phone for a new one I would lose that hole $472 credit I called the customer service line and there's pretty much nothing that they can do either which is really horrible because if I want to upgrade, I'm losing my $472. That doesn't sit right with me because I had issues in the past with the AT&T ambassador he lied a bout a whole lot of stuff to get me to change from Xfinity to AT&T. I would like to upgrade my phone, but I don't want to just give AT&T $472. That doesn't sit right with me. The only good thing I have to say about this store the enthusiasm of the young rep that assist customers. This a much larger store. All workers including management are Hispanic. I received a collection email on 3 unopened phones I returned within 3 days of purchase. There was no usage on any of the phones. The manager Serena, told me to call customer service, which I already did, twice. She was absolutely no help at all. This Review is in Lieu of Ms. Rachel. My partner and I walked in today ready to pay off our phones and leave the company because we were tired of paying the amount we had and we just felt like we weren't getting our money's worth. Every time we would go in and discuss what was going on, nothing would really change on our plan and we were paying $250 for only 2 phone lines. No one would smile back or really greet you. We were sitting on the couch when she had walked out from the back and I smiled at her like I do everyone else and she was the first person to smile and say hi. That's when Ms. Rachel walked into our lives. This woman is hands down an amazing person. She was cracking jokes and making us laugh when we were having a stressful day. She went above and beyond telling us the deals and the different promotions and and the all differences in plans/phones/discounts/promotions/etc. We were amazed at how knowledgeable she was. Because of all her help and her sweet/extremely knowledgeable personality, we didn't need to leave this company. This woman is definitely an asset to this team because we have not had many great experiences till today. She found every problem that was wrong with our account including things in the past we did not agree too that were attached anyways to the account. We literally spoke about how she made our day randomly throughout the day. If you want great service and someone who will actually listen to your concerns, I highly recommend waiting a little extra to have Ms.Rachel help you out. I had an excellent experience with Oscar Gonzalez at the Richmond AT&T store. I had a particularly thorny problem that had been caused by trying to port a business line to a personal line, and it was done incorrectly by the AT&T folks online. They ended up creating an extra line for me, which I needed to get credited and I needed to get my original phone number properly established in my name. Oscar was fantastic at helping me sort it out, dealt with all the red tape within ATT corporate, customer service and customer care, and he straightened everything out. I've been a loyal AT&T subscriber and once the store inside the Hilltop Mall closed, the El Cerrito location was the nearest store. I rarely visit the Richmond Target and failed to notice the AT&T store in the plaza. However, a quick search on their site and indeed, a full retail store was located by Target. I took my mom down to get her a new phone and she needed something basic. The store itself is still shiny and new and nicely designed, quite spacious and boasts a knowledgeable staff. Upon entering, a cute girl greeted customers as she held her company iPad. She directed us toward an AT&T associate who began assisting us in finding a new phone. The young employee was bilingual and helped my mom out with her questions and gave a few suggestions himself. Minutes within the store, my eyes caught glimpse of their holy tablet, otherwise known as the iPad. I swear I was only on the iPad for a few minutes and before I knew it, my mom had already completed her phone upgrade. Kudos to the new AT&T store and friendly employees. Everyone will offer directv and ask you where do you work and extra stuff because it is mandatory by att sales procedure. I recently switched over to AT&T and had to go into the store on McDonald Ave in Richmond. I was there for about 31/2 to 4hrs, I did leave twice and went back in that timeframe. I was greeted very kindly by Matt. He was absolutely awesome! Then I had the pleasure of being helped by Ivan who was so gracious. I made a friend with a regular patron while waiting, there was also Jesus and finally Chris! These guys all had one thing in common, they were kind and knowledgeable, they all acknowledged every person that walked in exactly the same, with respect. It's rare these days to go to a business where I see people working together as a team and treating each other and customers with respect and kindness. I was literally the last one to leave! Went there to see if they had service in my area, i signed and they said if it dont work in your area, we simply will cancel and no charge to you... there was no reception in my area so i went back there to cancel and they said no problem its cancelled but it wasn't.. i went back 3 times and waited in line hours...each time they said its cancelled, i asked for a cancellation number, they had none to give me proof of it and i still don't know if its cancelled .. i've been getting bills.... Horrible service. They make you wait and just shine you on..there are better companies out there .... I think not, AT&T. I just reviewed the one in Corte Madera at Town Center, and gave them 5 stars, so let's not pretend like I'm not amenable to good service. I walked into this store and wasn't greeted by any of the half dozen people working there, sitting around on their tablets or chatting amongst themselves. So I asked the first person who made eye contact with me for help. I wish I could remember his name because I would surely blast him lol #KanyeShrug. I was looking for a case for my Nokia 1020 Lumia. He shook his head and said, "We don't carry those anymore. That phone was discontinued." The way he said it was dismissive, and I'm not one to give up right away without at least checking to see what else might be offered. So I asked him to walk me over to where the cases for the other Nokia phones were. He walked and I followed. I bent down the peruse the selection as he reiterated that they didn't have what I was looking for. Lo and behold, in the back of the rack, there was a case for the Nokia 1020 Lumia. *rolls eyes*. Just check! Its fine if you don't have what I'm looking for, but at least pretend like you're gonna put some effort into it. This phone isn't a thousand years old.... sheesh. So when he rings it up, its only $5! Because (smile) the phone had been discontinued. The moral of the story-- I would have gone to Amazon had it not worked out and bought one for however much and been fine. I came in to the At&t store because At&t was unable to connect my phone appropriately with functioning LTE by just switching over the SIM card to the new phone. Three people in front of me a rush of people came in. Staff seemed to work extremely slow. I waited about hour and half for a 5 min exchange of words. The manager of the store assisted a employee that came in almost last on the long list named Jackie, seems like there was preference to helping staff when they are coming in a regular customers. The staff member that helped me was David before being assisted, he was on the phone, personal call in Spanish that was very inappropriate. Manager had to tell him to take the next name. That was me, all he did was exchange the SIM card and have a nice day. Didn't check if it was functioning just tossed it over, I had to ask for a insurance plan, and a accessory. While he was helping me in the five minute of exchange he was have a personal conversation with another employee. This store is a unprofessional joke. I can't even give this store one star. DO NOT go here if you want honest, efficient, professional people. There is always a wait. I was lied to about the cost of a cell phone. The woman told me two hundred dollars LESS than it actually was. I returned the phone when I found out that I was being charged $300/month! Luckily, it was during the return time. But they are continuing to charge me $300/month despite being told when the phone was returned that I was only going to have to pay $75.00. Customer service is atrocious here. If I can give ZERO stars, that's what this place deserved! Let's talk about customer service or how about lack there of? My first visit was mediocre when I went to upgrade my phone. The female associate who initially helped me had to "rush" out so another male associate completed the transaction. He didn't do anything wrong, but damn can you smile a little or at least act like you want to be there? At minimum, you're working with customers and you're representing the company...so play the part. However what put the cherry on top was my visit on 12/12/17 at around 5PM when I was "assisted" by an associate named Kevin. He called out my name, but said it wrong, in fact the male version of my name. When I corrected him, he chuckled, not apologizing. 1. How about saying "sorry" instead of laughing it off cuz I was not laughing. 2. I brought my 6s phone back which I have reset to factory setting to return for credit. He told me I shouldn't have done that cuz now he can't get to my phone to get the IMEI number. Lied to my face cuz all he did was turn my phone on and bypassed the set up and got right into the phone to get the IMEI #. 3. He pulls out the iPad trying to process my phone but it was not registered in "their" system. It only showed my old 5s. So guess what? He told me I can't return it. He then went to the back to speak w/ his manager just to come back telling I need to call the customer service dept. Excuse me? Who are you? Oh I'm an "associate"! 4. Thank goodness I stayed and called CS while still in the store because the CS rep basically schooled him on needing "coaching" by his manager when they encounter these types of problems cuz that's a store problem. CS would not be able to issue me a return like Kevin thought they would and told him the store needs to handle it. Mind you Kevin is walking around the store WITH MY PHONE talking to CS. 5. After that CS call Kevin had the audacity to tell me to just trade my 6s phone that was worth $165 for $65 credit since that's the phone it was showing in their system., even after the CS rep verified in her records that this phone is mine and it's legit. 6. So after an hour in this piss poor service, he runs to the back and comes back out with an approved credit from his manager for my 6s. Mind you, I already asked to speak with his manager but whoever that may be did not show face. I hope corporate reads this and do some re-training AND coaching on how to provide customer service. It was raining, I have my baby with me and the fat security lady didn't even bother to open the door for me as she did the two previous customers. Then when I walked in I asked if I can get help to pay my bill, no one said anything as if I'm supposed to know they have machines against the walls in the back to pay your bill and I only found that out by walking around the whole store. So what's the point of having workers there if they don't do nothing ??????!!!!!!! A great customer service is when you are greeted with a welcoming smile and listens to your needs! I'm pleased to say that I encountered this experience with their Sales Rep, Alonzo. I came in the store and signed in to have my new iPhone 7 plus activated and to trade in my old iPhone. Alonzo greeted me with a great big and made me feel comfortable to ensure I was taken care of. He activated my iPhone, confirmed my data were backed up, and helped me delete all of my confidential & private datas were removed from old phone. Take notes, he even explained the process of how and when my credit will be applied after trading my old phone. I was able to get a $650 credit when I traded my old phone and apply this amount to my phone bill. Alonzo even asked and suggested to me if I would like to purchase any accessories to protect my phone. So I told him I need screen protection on my phone. He showed me the choices I have and purchased the glass protection screen. He did an awesome job helping me apply the glass protection screen on to my phone. He made sure no air bubbles from protection screen and wiped to clean before handing my new phone to me. I am very pleased with the kind of customer service I had here at this store. I went to this store last week after my father lost his iPhone. We walked in and went to a crowd of employees, who weren't helping any customers. We started to talk, and were completely ignored. Luckily a friendly staff member noticed and pointed us out to a very helpful representative. Come to find out we were ignored by one of the managers. I attempted to complain, but the other manager was a family member. They both seemed extremely unprofessional. I will never come back. I even tried to contact their regional rep.
