I had purchased two S26 ultra phones online that would not activate and I also wanted to switch from esim to a physical sim card. A phone representative informed me I should go to a corporate AT&T store for assistance to activate the phones and obtain physical sim cards. for the phones. I went to the AT&T corporate store, 8225 Mira Mesa Blvd, San Diego, CA 92126 on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at approximately 4:45 pm and informed the person who checked me, Lou, that an AT&T phone representative informed me I should come to a physical store for assistance to activate the two phones and switch from esim to a physical sim card. He immediately asked me why I had not purchased the phones in store and then stated without even delving more that it was unlikely that the store would be able to assist me but they would see what they could do and emphasized again I should have purchased at the store and not online. I then waited approximately an hour for assistance. I was then paired with an employee named Alex. I provided Alex with the two phones, a copy of the order number that had the two phone numbers listed, and the account number associated with the order. Alex then reviewed my driver's license and input the information onto his tablet. He then excused himself and went to a closed area where Lou was now located in. When Alex came back out he asked me why I had not purchased the phones in person. I informed Alex I preferred to do so online. Alex then stated that the account associated with order was listed as "tentative" and then stated loudly, for others in the store to hear, that he only sees this issue when there is fraud. He then stated that he was not going to assist me and again stated I should have made my phone purchase in person and not online. I then asked Alex if he could contact AT&T over the phone or online while I was there to determine what the issue was with the account being listed as "tentative" and being unable to active the phones. Alex then stated loudly again that this was likely fraud and that he would not contact AT&T over the phone or online while I was there. I then asked Alex if this was a corporate or authorized reseller store because I had been told to go to a corporate store. He confirmed it was corporate so I asked why he would not be able to help me resolve the issues if I was at an AT&T corporate if I was told to come to a corporate store. He stated "sorry you're on your own but if you can get someone on the phone at AT&T yourself and resolve the issue let me know and I can see if I can help you then. I have to go help other customers now." He then left me sitting at a table while I tried to get someone on the phone at AT&T. Unfortunately, the AT&T phone line stated there was heavy call volume with over an hour wait time. I did wait about 15-20 minutes trying to get someone on the phone but with no luck. Alex then came back over to me and asked if I was able to get anyone on the phone. I told him no and again asked why he was not able to assist me in getting someone on the phone from AT&T and helping me resolve the issue. He stated I should have bought the phones in person. I was extremely frustrated at this point and asked to speak to the store manager. Alex then stated it was Lou. I asked to speak with Lou. Lou then came out and I informed Lou that Alex stated he was the manager. Lou said he was not the manager but the assistant manager and that the manager was not available. I then informed Lou of my interaction with Alex and that his (Lou's) and Alex's actions had now lost them a wireless customer and also a current internet customer. I then asked for the name and phone number of the store manager. Lou said he did not have that information and stated he was going to try and get in touch with the store manager. I then waited about 10 minutes and Lou would not provide the name and contact information of the store manager. I finally walked over to where Lou had gone to and stated to just provide me the name of the store manager and I would try calling at a later date/time to speak with the store manager. Lou made me wait at least another 5 minutes and then provided me a card with an alleged store manager email address. Lou and Alex did nothing to assist me in activating my AT&T phones, accused me of fraud, kept berating me for not purchasing my phones in store and ultimately refused to help me because I did not buy my phones. AT&T has now lost a potential wireless customer and current internet customer and you can thank Lou and Alex. read more

This review is about AT&T in general. I have nothing negative to say about the Mira Mesa store itself, but ATT in general is the worst company ever and beware. Here is my experience: They overcharge for services in general (saved $50 a month by moving my landline to our Verizon account). They made it very difficult to close my account and transfer my ATT line to Verizon to close out the ATT account. The first ATT agent didn't even know what the "transfer PIN" of my account is--which is their job to provide that so I can transfer my ATT landline to Verizon. Took me 3 calls and about 1 hour on the phone with various agents to get the transfer done. Then it took 2 more calls and about 20 minutes on hold to get a supervisor to assure that I would get the refund since they billed for a full cycle and I cancelled mid-cycle and I live in California where ATT is required by law to refund pro-rata portion of month. Also their website is all screwed up so you can't even see your itemized statements of monthly charges for your account. The PDF you click on is blank. The supervisor acknowledged this is an internal glitch that has been going on for months and months, so they aren't actually even providing bills to customers--which is illegal. Illegal to charge customers when not providing a bill. Some lawyer should make a class action out of this. Stay away from ATT. The entire experience of having lines with them has been a nightmare from start to finish. They should be investigated by the FCC/telecom regulators. They are the worst. They make it so hard to cancel or transfer services and are so unclear in their billing and are quite honestly breaking the law by not providing statements to customers. When I asked the supervisor to email me or mail me my past statements which I have never seen since their system is broken, I was first told they can't provide past bills. Then when I threatened to file a complaint with the government regulators, suddenly he found a way to "order past bills to be sent to my mailing address." Crooks. Avoid at all cost. read more

My wife and I switched to AT&T over a year ago and enrolled in the "Next Up" upgrade program, which allows us to upgrade our devices as part of our plan. Recently, we visited an AT&T store because my wife needed additional storage on her phone, and we decided to proceed with upgrades that we believed we were fully eligible for under our plan. Before completing the transaction, the sales representative inspected both of our phones. My wife's phone had a crack on the back, and the representative specifically stated that this would not be an issue for the trade-in or upgrade process. Based on those representations, we moved forward with the upgrades and surrendered both devices. Everything appeared to be fine until we later received notice that our bill had increased by nearly $600 due to a charge related to the crack on my wife's phone. Had we been properly informed that this damage would result in additional charges, we would never have agreed to trade in the devices. We feel we were clearly misled and misrepresented by the store staff during the transaction process. I visited the store on a Saturday to address the matter and spoke with a manager. After contacting AT&T customer service, I was informed that only the store manager could issue a credit or resolve the dispute. The manager I spoke with stated he would investigate the matter, file a dispute, and arrange for the head manager to contact me the following Wednesday. It has now been over a week since that conversation, and I have still not received any follow-up call. In the meantime, AT&T has continued aggressively attempting to collect the disputed $599 balance and has even suspended our phone lines despite the matter supposedly being under review. This is completely unacceptable. I will be returning to the store today because this situation requires immediate resolution. We relied on the information provided by your employees when making our decision. At this point, it appears we were either intentionally misled or grossly misinformed so a sales representative could complete a transaction and earn a commission. If this is how AT&T conducts business, it reflects extremely poorly on the company. A customer should never be told that a device condition "will not be an issue," only to later receive a substantial unexpected charge after the phones have already been surrendered. I expect this matter to be resolved promptly and fairly. read more

Yesterday my wife and I visited this AT&T and they were very supportive in helping us. We have a 5 year old autistic son and he was allowed to relax while Raul Torres took care of each from start to finish. He walked us through a process of transferring and setting up our new devices but kore importantly thr knowledge he shared on all of our devices shows me that he is one who does his due diligence in making surr clients are informed. I came in here to upgrade my iPhone. I don't know about you, but this is always so much work and I honestly dread it. My phone was definitely on its last leg, and I knew AT&T had a great trade-in deal. So, I went to the Mira Mesa location, even though it is not the closest location to my house. I will continue to go to the store if I need anything, because even though it is out-of-the-way, every single person who helped me was wonderful. I made an appointment, and I highly recommend you do as well. I was helped right away and was able to purchase the phone that day. Since the new iPhone had just recently come out, they did not have any in stock and I had to wait until it was shipped to my house. Once it was shipped to my house, I made an appointment for the data transfer. I called ahead and asked how long they thought the data transfer would be. They said they could walk me through it on the phone. I was super nervous, however, it all ended up working out great. It only took 30 minutes at home for me to do the data transfer. I then went into the store for my Trade-in. Make sure you call ahead because if you have an iPhone, it could have an anti-theft lock on it, which means from the time you unlock it, it starts a 60 minute countdown where you cannot trade your phone in. I used the time to do a couple errands. When my clock was finally up, I worked with Tiffany and she made sure she erased my old phone and answered the last couple questions I had. Over the week's process of purchasing the phone, waiting for the phone to come in, doing the data transfer over the phone, and finally coming into the store to turn in my phone, I worked with many of the employees at this location. I upgraded my phone recently and switched to ATT air. Horrible, slow, unreliable internet service making watching TV sometimes impossible. I feel like we were sold a bill of goods. Tech support is not always helpful and we have had to call many times. The ATT sales person in store seemed knowledgeable, honest but, retrospectively, how could he not know this service is terrible? We later went to another branch and even called the loyalty department and they had to adjust our bill because she told us various 'add-ins' were free but yet they were actually additional costs. I am completely disappointed with the service and the way we were mislead with the prices. Loyalty department was able to help us out over the phone a month later but even they were so confused and baffled with how she gave us fake prices and quotes just to get us to join AT&T. Devon was a horrible representative during my visit with dismissive and rude attitude. If the store manager will like to reach out, I am happy to speak in person. Details below. I brought a brand new, unlocked S22+ to the store to set up the eSIM card for international travel. When I tried to explain to Devon the steps the tech support over the phone had tried, he repeatedly cut me off or pull the phone away to scroll through settings himself. He also repeatedly push for just using the nano SIM and said "I don't know what your problem is" multiple time. I explained clearly I need dual SIM for international travel. Furthermore, in the middle of our session, he just yelled across the room to another representative shouting some NFL player signing. Devon in the end just gave me a nanoSIM and did not provide an alternative or even try to reach out to other representative or tech support over the phone. This is the worst AT&T Store experience I had and I have been with AT&T since 2012. read more

So to update you on the situation with AT&T my smokin hot girlfriend, became my smokin hot fiancé a few months ago and decided to switch to my phone plan. My Veteran Owned Business 5g Unlimited T-Mobile plan. Her phone bill is now $20 a month and I pay it because it's basically free. Just like all her airtime, and unlimited internet and 20gig of 5g Hotspot data. Go look up Magenta Military Business Plan. Anyway, it's worth mentioning that when my ridiculously hot fiancé left AT&T she DIDNT get to keep the remaining balance on her account. That $700 they promised her that was trickling in at $23 a month... yea that went right out the window. They kept that. My thoughts to her was, what's it worth to never have to deal with AT&T again? Her reply? About $610. So she lost her $610 but gained the peace of mind of never having to deal with this company or this store again. The rating is 1 star because my fiancé LOST $610 after losing her contract negotiated discount, being forced onto a more expensive plan, and being lied to repeatedly. AT&T caused me problems years ago in a seperate case that I had to pay for back then, and was the reason why I stopped doing business with them for good. If youre reading this and have AT&T service, consider leaving. I don't care if you go to Mint mobile. Go anywhere. If you work for AT&T you should quit. Because you represent a company that lies to its customers on a regular basis and uses contracts to force them into throwing more money down the pit. That $610 is the last money you'll get out of us. I've been coming to this store to get a new line or a phone and every-time I went, I was welcomed at the door and helped immediately. I don't remember who helped me but they were patient, understanding, and fast to bring out the phones. Originally, I came for the $5/month iPhone 13 for the holidays but the worker told me that it ended and the iPhone 14 Plus became the new deal. He even gave me a discount. I was so shocked and excited! I came for a small phone but ended up a better phone for photography performance! I paid in full and got my phone all in the same day. I even got some for other family members. Best part was that they had all the colors in stock so I was able to choose which to get. The interior is very spacious and there's plenty of workers around. There are sections of things to shop for or just to browse. I had a great experience so I will continue to come back to this carrier again! read more

Diego Gravacio gets 5 stars for world class customer service. AT&T customer service phone reps get one star. I only give them that one star because they picked up. Diego immediately jumped in when he noticed we were becoming frustrated with the phone rep. After over an hour on the phone and two reps later he got the job done. I would have gone balistic if I had to take care of this myself. We're saving a $100 a month now and have better internet speed. Came in irritated and left relieved. This 5-star review is specifically for Chris H. at this AT&T location in Mira Mesa. I've been to other locations countless times and have had horrible experiences. I searched long and hard for a good AT&T rep and have finally found the one. I will never go to any other AT&T rep ever! I requested an appointment with Chris at this location by a recommendation through a friend. Chris helped my family switch over from Sprint (4 phones - two iPhone X and two iPhone 8) as well as upgrade my phone to an iPhone X. Incredibly helpful and efficient, not to mention, very personable. Switching all five phones, with some unforeseen complicated account issues, took about an hour and a half from walking through the front door to walking out!! Couldn't believe it. I was already prepared to have to wait forever like I always do (even with an appointment). Extremely pleased with the customer service Chris H. provides. I'll be honest, the customer service was non-existent, quite rude with attitude. On top of that, their sim cards were out of stock, this early in the day, really? I'm not dumb, they weren't out of stock, he just wanted to dismiss me. Whoever is training these people are a joke. Where do I start? I've been a loyal AT&T customer since it was Cingular wireless. Yes, I am aging myself to make a point. I decided to upgrade my iPhoneX to the iPhone 12 max pro and take advantage of the promotional offer. I went into the store not once but twice. The first time was to ask how the offer worked to ensure I knew what I was getting into. I was told it was a trade in offer if my phone is in good condition I get the full payout amount to go towards my new phone. My phone was in perfect condition and met the guidelines I confirmed with the rep. I was not told there were other stipulations. Or that I would lose my plan discount with my work if I signed up or that I would be forced to get the highest plan in order to qualify for the payment plan. No, I didn't find this out until I brought my phone into the store the second time to trade. At that point it was a little too late my new phone had arrived and I set it up. The rep at the second visit when I dropped off my device was not sympathetic to the fact that we were given wrong information the first time. He just said well this is what it is. Oh and the payout you get from the trade in reduces your monthly payment by $24... it's spread out over the life the payment plan. No it's not subtracted up front. I just ended up paying the phone off early. Then I had to wait to be able to unlock it! Even after paying it off in full and I own it out right. Even that process was a nightmare. I had to call to unlock my phone since their website kept giving me errors. Transferred 3 times! Over it. Today I left AT&T after years of sticking it out with them. Even after being told the wrong information. I transferred to T-Mobile for free and it was painless! I didn't even need to step foot back into AT&T. T-Mobile took care of it all. And it was quick! I was up and running in minutes after transfer. read more

I was in the Mira Mesa store and was initially treating like a criminal. I bought a new phone on 9.2.21. I was in the store for 4 hours them trying to set up my phone and sinc it to my smart watch that I had just purchased also. I kinda knew something was wrong then but after 4 hours I was so tired and just wanted to go home. Also, the store was closing in 20 minutes Since purchasing the phone, I had nothing but problems. Calls were dropped, partial conversation were dropped. Nothing but issues. This Thursday, exactly one week after purchase, i called for help. ATT remoted into my phone to troubleshoot the issue. They too had to call me back a few times because they couldn't hear me. Finally, I was told to go to a ATT store and get a new phone. I was told there would be no restocking fee because i was within the grace period... so me and my daughter were meeting for lunch, so I called the Mira Mesa store to see if they had the exact phone and in the exact color, just to save time. I spoke to a Alexea, she proceeds to tell me we a snotty attitude that there will be a $55 restocking fee. I tried to tell her that ATT said there would be no restocking fees. She rudely tells me that that's store policy. I ask her her name, I thought she said Alexa, but she rudely corrected that it was Alexea. She asked if I wanted to speak to her manager, I replied no,, I was going to call ATT back.. I was again told to go and get a new phone and if there was any problems to have the store call ATT. When we get there this Alexea person is rude from the gate. She's telling me what the store policy is and what they will not do. Then she gets the Assistant Manager. He comes over annoyed also and begins to tell me that they have store reps that will troubleshoot my phone. I told him that it had already been done and I was not going to waste more time with a phone that didn't work properly and to please replace it as suggested. We continuously go back and forth, me trying to explain, that the phone had issues and all I wanted was another phone and to look at the notations on my account. They never asked me my name to pull up my account. Finally, after realizing that I wasn't going to be bullied away. Stiil never accessing my account, he then says he will give me the phone but they wont transfer my information to the new phone. WHAT?. Thank goodness my daughter was with me because she made it clear that this whole situation was crap and that I wasn't going to loose all my years of data because of them. I swear we were treated like we were there to steal phones or scammers, something! This Alexea person sits down and the energy was so horrible that I asked is someone else could help us. Finally, we got the customer service we deserved. Micheal & Daysha were great and deserve a shout out to what customer service should look and feel like. I am a 60 year old black woman that was treated like I had done something so wrong in asking for what I was told I was in titled too. So bummed New toys & treated like a criminal. Spent weeks trying to get the address on my account changed. Tried it on my computer and failed. Went to three AT&T stores in SD and was given a complete runaround by the jokers working there. I spent over an hour on the phone with a kind but ultimately unsuccessful call center worker. Came to this branch and was out 20 minutes later with my problem totally solved. The man who helped me was possibly the most professional and knowledgeable man I've ever had the pleasure of working with. I'll never forget him. This is not the only AT&T store in Mira Mesa. Looks like everyone just goes to this one. I've had ok experiences here and some bad ones. The area where they help you with phone problems is the area I prefer. They are helpful with trying to service my phone problems. I was disappointed with the sales side. I went in and had plenty of questions especially since I made the decision to switch from iPhone to an Android device. Big change, I know. I'm getting comments from everyone about my choice but I do like my Samsung Galaxy S7. The Note 7 was coming out also so I was asking the differences. The girl was like it's the same but the Note7 has the stylus. I trusted her with what she said and that was a mistake. There's A LOT of differences between the Note 7 and the galaxy S7. My mom decided to get the Note7 since she likes the stylus and it's way different. I don't mind the differences between the 2 phones but a sales person should know what they are trying to sell people! I went in when the Note7 was released and there were 8 people in front of me and they didn't even have their shipment. The AT&T near HMart had nobody inside but didnt have the color my mom wanted. Just drive to another AT&T. Ended up getting the Note7 in the Escondido store and they gave me amazing service and showed me really cool features on my phone.
