I am a first responder in the city of San Diego. I was going to get just internet with AT&T, but when I found out that there was a discount for first responders when you bundle phone and Internet, I decided to get phone service with my internet because I would get a $15 discount on my internet as well as a 25% first responder discount on my bill.. Sounded great! The clerk that sold me on this package was with my installation tech on the day my internet was supposed to be installed. We had no problems activating the phones and bundling the service. On paper, it looked great. Less than a month later, I receive an e-mail stating that I need to confirm my employment to receive my discount.. Even though the clerk had stated that I would not need to do this. So I call the phone number on e-mail from the IRU verification, and they state that I need to go to an AT&T store to verify my employment status in order to maintain my discount. This was on Christmas Eve, and the representative on the phone was slightly rude and short in giving me this information, but all she stated was that I needed to go to "an" At&t store. Fast forward to today, 12/28, 4 days later, and I go to the At&T store on Grossmont Ctr in La Mesa around 4:00 PM to confirm my employment. They tell me that they cannot help me there, and that I need to go to a CORPORATE AT&T store. The closest one to that place was 12 minutes away, so I wasn't that frustrated yet, although a little irked that I wasn't given the full information that I needed when I called the number that I received on my e-mail. So I go to the Town Ctr store and there are a lot of people in the store around 4:20 PM. That's fine, and expected. I wait for around 30 minutes to get service, and when I finally get service around 4:53 PM, the store clerk states that my discount is already being applied to my account, and that they do not know how to verify my account or what exactly AT&T wants from me to verify the account. I am told by the AT&T representative at the store that I need to call the IRU number once again to find out how they can verify my employment status or what exactly they need from me to do so. I am frustrated for three reasons: 1. I was told by AT&T IRU to go to an AT&T store. The first store I went to told me I needed to go to a corporate store. That's a waste of my time. 2. After waiting 30 minutes at the new store, I'm told that I need to call the number again to find out how to verify my employment.. The clerk stated that he does not know whether he needs a copy of my pay stubs or my department ID to verify my employment, and he didn't seem to understand that even though the discount is currently on the account, the e-mail told me that I had 10 days to verify my employment or my discount would not apply. I would expect that a corporate store would know the procedure to verify the account given that this is where I was told to go, on a recorded line. Once again, my time is being wasted. I work 12 hour shifts, and I had work at 6 PM. I did not have time to hold on the phone and wait for that information.. Thus why I came to an AT&T store to get it done. I'd rather do things face to face and make sure that things are done correctly, but apparently they do not know they own procedures. If I did that at my job, I'd be written up. 3. The employee at the town center store was dismissive, and did not really seem to care about my situation or helping me. He wanted ME to call the IRU number and waste my time, instead of handling the situation and making sure that I am helped, which is HIS job to do. I was told that I would need to call the number and figure out the procedure for them. This is not the type of customer service that I would expect. On a slightly unrelated note, I called the IRU number back while I was in my car, around 4:59 PM. The offices were already closed... So not only did I not get the help that I needed, but the 10 days are also going to elapse from the time that the e-mail was sent. I just want to be helped, and I want to make sure that this is done. read more

COX and DIRECTVNOW not good bed fellows. Is COX dropping channel changes and slowing down internet speeds for directvnow customer. READ BELOW I have been a cox customer for over 14 years. Sure I have had issues over that time but they were generally resolved. Then the prices started to go up and up and up, every year. I had as part of my $250 package the $89 internet which was unlimited when I signed the contract for service. The television has become less important as the children have grown and we don't spend much time inside anymore. So I decided to drop the TV packages and just keep my land line and internet. This happened in January 2017 and this is how Cox responded to that. I received no warning or update or any communication from cox, but read on social media that they had limited their internet downloads to 1TB a month. Then a couple of weeks later they said that my true old school landline had to go and the replacement digital phone would cost an additional $15 a month because now I need a router for my land line. If I didn't go with the digital phone I would loose my number, so really had no choice. So now when we get a power cut there is no landline anymore. So back to the 1TB limit. I check my January bill, before I ditched the TV and there is no sign of a 1TB limit anywhere on the invoice. Low and behold come February, new bill without the TV package, now has a line in the invoice showing 1TB limit. Now lets get to the internet speed and DirecTVNOW. So being a little ticked off with cox over the last 3 months I have been monitoring the bandwidth and internet connection speeds, packet drops, packet refusals and drop outs by COX server request (yes I'm a coder). I can't say I can prove it in a court of law, but there has been a 75% increase in dropped requests and a general slow down of about 33%. Terrible I hear you cry. WAIT! I did a little work with my next door neighbor who has the complete cox tv and internet package. I took my directvnow firestick over and it didn't drop a single channel change. When I try that using my internet it drops 90% of the time. Same equipment in both houses with no additional peripherals attached to the router in either case, just the firestick. SO IS COX SLOWING DOWN AND DROPPING CHANNEL CHANGE REQUESTS FOR DIRECTVNOW CUSTOMERS? From my experience and experiments that answer is a YES! Maybe I am getting old and this is how modern companies increase their revenue when faced with competition (DirectTV). In my day we would improve the service and increase customer communication to build customer loyalty, not hit every customer with an increase to make up for the short fall in revenue due to the company providing below par service, which has been the case with cox over the last few years. So if you want to make the switch to internet TV, my humble advice is not to use cox internet as your ISP. Go the whole way and dump all of cox and just go all in with AT&T (I know they have their issues too). COX and DIRECTVNOW not good bed fellows. read more

This store doesn't deserve even one star!! I ordered 4 phones online, ported 4 Sprint numbers over with AT&T chat rep online who said Buy One Get One free offer was good if I purchased 3 Samsung Galaxy S8 Actives and 1 Samsung Galaxy Note 8. I completed the order and set an appointment for pickup at this store in Santee. Brooke who helped us at this store was confused at first when we got there because only two of our numbers ported over correctly. Shane, the store manager, proceeded to help her and they finally figured it out. However, Shane tried to tell me that the BOGO offer did not apply to buying 3 S8 Actives and 1 Note 8 and that it only applied to "like for like". He proceeded to tell me I would need to purchase another Note 8. I told him that is NOT what the chat rep said and I believed he was mistaken. Fortunately Brooke explained to him that the offer was for any Samsung and did not specify "like for like". Shane then said he would "look it up". He was trying to make a sale and got shot down. He found where it said it was for any phone in the Samsung family. If you plan to switch services or buy any phones using BOGO offer, beware of going to the Santee store!! I hope this review prevents other customers from being conned into purchasing a more expensive phone. read more

Had some billing issues, Called 3 times and spent an hour each time on the phone. Finally got a refund. Then out of the blue months later the same charge was rebilled to me. after explaining many times it was sent to collections. I called again to get it straightened out and they blow me off, at the same time trying to sell me U Verse. I ended up driving down to the local branch to talk to a live body. The manager hands me over to someone else who says he has no idea why AT&T would do something like that. Cant help me though, already been sent to collections. After refunding me originally for an AT&T error. Do yourself a favor, find another company to do business with. AT&T does not value its clients time or business. Screw AT&T all they do is nickel and dime you for their services, make multiple appointments to then cancel them, take 4 HOURS to set up their shitty service, and then when you don't even get the speed you paid for on your internet service they charge you $5 a call for you to just talk with a freaking robot and get out on hold for an hour straight! And then when they finally cut your service off they still charge you into the next pay period WITHOUT telling you and make you send all of the equipment back to them via UPS or Fedex and cost you more money. No wonder this location only has 2 1/2 stars. Paid a very high price for my phone protector at ATT When I bought my phone. Sales person said the benefit was if anything goes wrong just walk into an AT&T store and they will replace it for free. Went to the original location in Mission Valley but they didn't have my model in stock. They sent me all the way to Santee. Waited about 25 minutes while employees spoke to each other and milled about. One employee had their pants down below their butt cheeks showing their complete underwear. After waiting 25 minutes they said they would give me a slight discount on a new screen protector, but not replace my screen protector AS PROMISED. Been with AT&T over 20 years. Went in to get a breakdown of my bill and was told they can't do that and to call customer service. Tried explaining multiple ways what I needed and was repeatedly told no. I asked to speak with manager 3 times and was also told no. I also tried explaining that there was no way that much data could have been used and was treated like an idiot who didn't know how to go into the settings feature. The tech showed me his screen saying I'm not supposed to show you this when it was exactly what I saw through the my ATT app! Again treating me like an idiot when he wasn't the one understanding. Went there because my older I phone 5 for some reason wouldn't send or recieve text messages, went to the store and some tall condecending dude starts messing with it. He keeps telling me that I was trying to send text through I cloud I told no so he starts fucking with it completely locks it up and tells me I need a new phone. WTF it was working when I walked in, so now I have a phone that doesn't work and I have to drive to an Apple store so they can unlock it. We have reached out to corporate to help this store recovery from moronitis. Justin and his team of horses ends should train in food service where they will also inevitably lose their jobs. After 20 years with ATT we are this evening going to T Mobile. I don't think individual or small business customers are what this place cares about. I had been into the At&T sore on Vista way in Oceanside the week before and they had replaced a sim card in my phone however they charged me for what appears to be two I phone 6s at $680.00 each. Funny thing is I did not get a new phone. That store manager refused my phone call. I called At&t corporate office and was connected with the fraud department. On Sunday December 22 I had made an appointment online but as soon as I rolled through the doors I was introduced to the store rep that would help me , his name was Steve :) . I was so impressed with how much effort this man put into helping me correct some of the problems a stolen phone had caused me..(I didn't have insurance) I would recommend insurance for everyone. When you walk in, they smile at you and seem to be quite friendly and helpful. Though when I saw that smile it seemed to be more the smile for bonuses they want to receive for getting as many customers as possible. I would not go there often. They need to work on smiling more sincerely. read more
