AT Bistro was an all-around excellent experience. We were looking for a new place to dine on a Saturday night, so I checked my yelp! bookmarks and at some point I had saved this place. I don't remember why, so I figured it was time to see what AT Bistro was like. I booked a table for 2 on Resy. The parking is really easy. It's located in Preston Center which has easy access covered parking. One of the great things about AT Bistro was it was not loud. While there were some other patrons, I was happy that my husband and I could hear one another at the table. We looked over the menu and decided on the Buttermilk Cornbread. It's described as a cross between cornbread and angel food cake. I totally agree. It was light, fluffy, yet still had that cornbread bite. It had a nice scoop of chili honey butter in the middle which was so delicious! This was a very satisfying appetizer. For an entree I had the crab cake with a citrus burre blanc sauce. This was very good and really hit the spot. The crabmeat to stuffing ratio was great and very flavorful. The only thing I would've like to have was a little bit of greens on the plate to give a bit of roughage to the meal. Last, I finished out with the house made Pina Colada sorbet. It was good, not stellar, but still a tasty desert. The atmosphere was sophisticated without being pretentious and the service was very attentive without being smothering. These are real pros! Overall, my experience at AT Bistro was very good and I'll definitely be back. It's going into the rotation and I look forward to trying other dishes here. read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Loved the Christmas décor and fast, friendly, attentive service. The menu was a little confusing for a French-influenced spot. The $18 jamon and chips was overpriced but the chips were well-made crispy thin and not greasy. The Greek salad was overdressed to the point it was soupy and it wilted the mismatched lettuces. Wanted a dessert but they all felt so overdone, I skipped them. Overall, the menu isn't really my taste. read more

5 stars. Came here for a work dinner; the staff was very attentive and provided great recommendations. For apps we did the biscuits, cornbread and bang bang shrimp. All 3 were tasty (particularly the cornbread.) For the main I went with the smash burger; if you decide to do that, do NOT load up on carbs like I did. The staff almost had to wheel me out! I washed it all down with a Yuzu drink that was super delicious. I highly recommend this spot! read more

Went on a Tuesday to try their first of the month fried chicken dinner with a French twist. The dinner is plenty for four people so the two of us had a lot to take home! Service was excellent by Brandon. He timed the dinner perfectly to match our pace. Water glasses were filled promptly without us needing to ask. And even the owner came and checked on us. We definitely felt like they wanted us to have a great experience. We opted to start with the caviar and French onion dip. It comes with homemade potato chips. Sort of an odd combination and the onion dip really overpower the caviar so you don't really get that flavor in our opinion. It was good but you're paying for the caviar so we probably wouldn't order it again. The dinner begins with your choice of cornbread or homemade biscuits. We opted for the cornbread and we're not disappointed. My only suggestion is that it would've been better to have that later in the meal because we filled up on the cornbread! The next course is a side salad of your choice either Caesar or their house. We both opted for the house with vinaigrette, and it was very good. The fried chicken had a wonderful crisp and was juicy and tender inside. Great flavor. It comes with macaroni and cheese, collard greens, and a delicious Black Eyed Peas concoction. They provide their own hot sauce, which goes well with all of it. Dessert is also included and it was a fresh peach cobbler with ice cream that was delicious. The people that work here are so great. We live locally in UP and there are other nice restaurants around but we continually return to AT Bistro as our favorite. The chef is outstanding. Whenever I take guests I know they are going to have a good time. They never rush you here. Our community has been deeply affected by the recent floods and last night meeting with friends was emotional for us all. The staff are super savvy and instinctively new not to interrupt us during conversation. They are also just kind and want to please. My chicken was incredible, wine and appetizers awesome. I've eaten at AT bistro twice now and enjoyed both occasions. I don't know why I've never noticed it before even though I live in the area. For some reason I never noticed this restaurant. But now that I've discovered it I found the interior to be nicely decorated with lots of natural light, and service is friendly and prompt. I've had the They have a private dining room in the back through the kitchen, which was pretty cool. I had a chance to meet the owner and he seemed like a great guy. I plan on coming here more frequently for my business meetings and dining with the family. read more

Great ambiance with nice decor! We had reservations but there was enough room for walk-ins on a Saturday night. We chose to sit in the patio, and they do a great job of keeping it temperature controlled. Lovely service and plentiful free parking in the garage nearby. The drinks were tasty, but the appetizers were meh. The salted grapefruit spritz and mint berry bliss (nonalcoholic) were great! We got the wagyu beef carpaccio, which was more like thinly-sliced roast beef instead of a true raw carpaccio. It certainly did not have the fatty flavor expected with wagyu. There was also very little beef and primarily arugula, so felt more like an arugula salad. We also got the crudo of the day, which was salmon--my favorite! The fish wasn't super fresh, but I enjoyed the addition of plums. Not sure if I'd recommend going here for the food, but I would like to try their happy hour! As soon as we walked in I was just like ... Wow This lovely place looks stunning inside, the hostess was so smiley and gave us a warm welcome. We were seated right away, it was a beautiful day so we decided to sit outside. I like their patio, it's completely covered, very comfy and definitely a lot of privacy we got. I honestly wanted to try everything from the menu. I thought we picked a couple of items only it we ended up with so much food :))))))) Delis food of course and we almost finished it all including dessert. Like I said all of our dishes were spectacular,but if I would have to pick a fave, would be the spicy shrimp, fries (don't judge me) and the almond joy. I've never had such a unique dessert before. Was amazing really. I asked for more chocolate syrup, I highly recommend you do that too if you go here and have this tasty treat. Muhammad and Hugo was our servers and this very helpful gentleman called Dee, who I owe special thanks for, for bringing me all the extra things I wanted for my meals ;) Even the owner Bobby paid us a visit who is extremely delightful. The burgers are frozen patties, as well as the fries. Absolutely bland food and bland service. Christmas garland and Christmas lights hanging from the ceiling. Drink was good but the prices seem far too high for a restaurant aiming to be upscale. Maybe adding finer decor and serving unfrozen food would make this place a hit as the location is really nice. Easily accessible and lots of parking. I do not plan on returning or recommending based on my experience - mainly at fault of the food. read more

Great food! We enjoyed scallops, gumbo and the mars desert. Along with, wine and chocolate espresso cocktail, prepared by our favorite Mixologist. Drinks were good as is the he bourbon selection. Wine program needs some work. The wine guy upsold us. We ended up with a $145 Merryvale Cabernet as they were out of the $75 Walla Walla Cab Franc we ordered. They served the Merryvale at room temp instead of Celler temperature. The Napa SauvvyB we ordered had turned but they were good about it. Steak Frites had great quality steaks but arrived barely warm at table. Fries were warm but not hot. They did have warmed plates which was a nice touch. Nice espresso martinis to close out evening. Great bartender that had us taste a couple of whiskeys. Not sure I need to return. Sensational was their kalua pig, house ham, swiss cheese, mojo au jus "New Style Cuban" handheld. On this Saturday, to my disappointment, only brunch did they serve at lunchtime. New server. To our table was my tasty "Hawaiian Locomoco" before having to ask again for their shining "Biscuit & Jam". I just checked their home page before writing this review and the information is still not clear of them not serving lunch on Saturdays. Absolutely delightful. Made a resy and came here for lunch with a friend. Service was great and the food was delicious. We shared the bang bang shrimp app and it was so good. I loved that how light and crispy it was not heavily battered. I had the tuna noodle salad and it was flavorful and unique. I thoroughly enjoyed it. We originally had reservations for "Malais Kitchen" where we were ignored for 20 minutes before walking out. So not a great start to the night. We walked around the corner to this place where we were immediately greeted with a warm welcome and seated right away. Good thing we had early reservations at the other place. The service was great and so was the food. We started out with the biscuits and crudo of the day. Both were delicious. I had the spare ribs and my wife had the pork sugo ragu. Both were delicious. Went shopping at Target and walked out and saw this place for lunch. First off the hostess was very nice. She offered tasty suggestions which is very helpful. Everyone was so welcoming. Our server by the name of 'D' was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He even gave us a tour of the back of the house and their private dining area. D was very personable and paid attention to our needs while dining. I wld suggest that you ask for him for a great experience. The dessert is deerelicious. AT Bistro offers a cozy holiday atmosphere with lovely Christmas decorations that add a nice touch to the dining experience. The service was pretty good considering we had a large group of ten. My only complaint was that it sometimes took a while to get our drinks. For my main course I ordered the octopus, which was a bit small and overcooked, and I also ordered the zucchini carpaccio which was very flavorful and definitely stole the show. My husband really enjoyed the foie gras burger, finding it worth the $40 price tag. Everyone really enjoyed their entrees, except for my mom said that the midnight pasta could have used a lot more flavor. We ordered every appetizer on the menu and they were all generally good, although the fried green tomatoes were more like tomato chips instead of whole tomato slices. The pimento that came on the side definitely made up for it though! Everyone really enjoyed their cocktails. I ordered the mint berry bliss mocktail and it was very refreshing! They had some really good deals on their bourbon selection as well. We ended the meal on a high note with the peppermint ice cream dessert, which was a hit among everyone. Went for a mid-week dinner with friends. The food was very tasty and unusual (quail or green fried tomatoes - local twist). A lot of dishes with foie gras, if you are a fan you'd appreciate that. A few weeks ago, I realized that I had fallen into a sad and mundane rut. My dining choices over the past few years were always the same...joints that were on my well-worn and tired rotation list. I wasn't taking any culinary chances anymore. I was playing it safe...too safe. I came to the conclusion that I had to, once again, start throwing dining caution to the wind. I told myself, "so what, if a new experience resulted in a less than stellar night?" I had to get past the unexplainable fright of an eatery that might offer sub-par service, too many ankle-biters, poorly-attired and misbehaved crowds, and inferior seating options too close to the kitchen. As part of my new gastronomical safari into the unknown, I rolled the dice on a place I noticed a few times in my travels, AT Bistro in Preston Center. After all, it had good reviews on Yelp, was reasonably close by to the old homestead, and one didn't have to fool around with valet parking given the plentiful parking options. On our mid-week journey, the restaurant was not quite half-full which is big plus in my dining book. The mid-evening crowd seemed to be be a mix of business people and groups of friends. The ambience is pleasant and eye-pleasing, a step up from a casual eatery. The menu doesn't wander too far from the beaten path...it's solidly new American. While I'd prefer a little more variety, as of late, my dining choices have been fairly middle of the road, so not seeing an adventuresome dish like foie gras and oyster infused spam on the menu didn't bother me. I went simple for my menu selection, sticking to the tried and true roasted chicken preceded by a Caesar salad. It was solidly above average. I can't offer any of suggestions or criticisms from my elementary epicurean brain. Simply put, it was an enjoyable meal, with good service, and I'll certainly head back, sometime in the foreseeable future. We tried this place on the recommendation of a friend. And after reading the reviews here. And still it exceeded our expectations! We had a reservation at 7:00, which was unnecessary because apparently this fabulous place remains undiscovered. We met our friend at the bar, where we had a fun conversation with the bartender about how to make a whiskey sour, a Tom Collins, and other various old school drinks. We were having so much fun we had to be dragged to our table by the host! Our waiter was knowledgeable with a dry sense of humor, which by the end of the evening had me laughing constantly. We shared all the plates three ways and every single dish was amazing. We had both the mint chocolate dessert and the coconut one and we finished every bit. (And they were HUGE). Our experience at AT bistro was a mixed bag. Overall the service was impeccable, our waiter was eager to explain the dishes and our drinks were meticulously filled. The appetizers got glowing reviews: we split the biscuits, mushrooms, octopus and crudo (which was the daily special). Our only eyebrow raise is when we asked the lady who set down the octopus what was in the sauce and she flatly replied that she didn't know and it was on the menu. Our mains ranged from the sea trout , fish and chips, steak frites and port sugo ragu. Each dish ended up being fine. While each had good components (for example, my steak was excellent but the frites were ok at best). The desserts were not our favorite and seemed like an after thought but the waiter did note that they were not on the menu because they were still working a few things out. I want to end with the one thing that bothered me the most about the experience. The manager both greeted us and said goodbye which was lovely, what I didn't appreciate with the amount of touch and back pats/rubs that came with it. I do not feel that this is either professional or appropriate with someone you have never met before. I did not mention it at the time that this occurred because I did not want to change the mood of the evening and I was not comfortable with the words that I was going to use at the time. read more

Not sure about this place. I was confused about what kind of food they served and I think they're still trying to figure it out. After eating there, I would call it Asian-French fusion. They give you seasoned popcorn as your table snack (think of it like free chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant). Their menu changes with the seasons. We liked most of our dishes and the service was great. It is on the pricey side. I think what this place needs is a good menu edit. The Asian flavors were all over the place and that's not always a good integration. We had Japanese with Indian with Hawaiian. Just an odd mix. If they could figure out who they are and market that, they might do better. read more

Wonderful menu. French-based but very imaginative without going overboard. The frites were perfect. The heirloom tomato and peach salad was delicious on every level. Dynamite Shrimp and the side order of wild mushrooms? Again, perfect. Dessert? Well now, run and do not walk to get the slice of mint ice cream pie with meringue and flamed table side! Oh so good. You can easily miss this restaurant on Westchester as the curb appeal needs some work so it jumps out more, but once inside, you will love it.
