Great happy hour near Yale Campus. Oysters were delicious! Nice upscale bar. Loved the relaxing music they play in the background. Nice touch. Great service!

My date and I were in downtown New Haven on a Friday night and decided to stop at Florian for a drink and small bite to eat. It was cute inside, but since it was a nice night, we decided to sit outside on their little patio. I ordered a lavender martini which was very tasty and my date ordered a maple bourbon old fashioned which also was very good. We ordered the crab cake and the mariniere moules frites (mussels, Belgium fries in a garlicky broth). The crab cake was decent, but the mussels and the Belgium fries with the lemon aioli were plentiful and delicious. We were served by Kevin who made us feel very welcomed and had lots of enthusiasm. We also were served by Trinity who was amazing, answered all of our questions and she is the reason why we will definitely be returning! It was a great first experience and would definitely recommend checking out!

Atelier Florian will always have a special place in my heart so perhaps this review is slightly biased. I first came here in 2016 and had a really great time. I went back in 2017 and 2018 but that was the last time, until today for brunch. My friend made a 12pm reservation but we got there at about 12:11pm and we were seated with no issues. The host grabbed us some still water and our waitress came over. She was very polite and patient as we sifted through the menu. I grabbed the Avocado Benedict and a peach mimosa. They have several flavors for the mimosa, you just have to ask for it. Our food came out within 12 minutes but they actually gave me the wrong order. The server immediately noticed and rectified it. The flavor was quite bland to be honest but the impeccable service made up for it.

The service was nice. The food was good. We had a taste for oyster so we decided to check this place out. We went on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't busy. The server asked us if we wanted sparking or regular water for the table. We ordered oysters, a pepper appetizer and some fries. The ambiance was nice they had soft music playing in the back ground. And it was nice inside

My family and I were traveling from Philadelphia to Maine for our annual ski trip and found this gem in the heart of the Yale Campus in New Haven. Since it was Christmas break, it was absolutely dead since all the college kids were back home for the holidays. This place is a French Bistro style restaurant with high quality ingredients and a small, well executed menu. A little pricey for a lunch spot but all the food was really good. Our waiter K was attentive and extremely kind. He was playful with my kids and gave them a piece of candy after they ate their lunch. The clam chowder was absolutely delicious, fried calamari was Ok. I would recommend the arancini, and the Croque monsieur. Only reason for not 5 stars, I think for the price, the food should've been more elevated than what we got. The decor and atmosphere what excellent however!

We had some time to kill before a dinner reservation and we decided to check out their social hour. Our servers name was Kevin and he was amazing. Super attentive, super personable and was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Since it was happy hour, we ordered the two dollar oysters and had a couple drinks. We also ordered the fries with the special sauce. the sauce was He made our visit extra ordinary and we would definitely come back again!!!

The restaurant is beautiful and cozy. The staff is very attentive and helpful. We ordered some appetizers: tuna tartare, grilled shishito peppers, ceviche, and arincini balls. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The strawberry Sunrise cocktail I got was delectable Fresh strawberry puree with high end tequila and expertly mixed with the perfect proportions made this one of the best cocktails I've had in a long time! Will definitely be back for more!

We had a wonderful evening! Kevin our server was so gracious about letting us know we still had time to order from the happy hour menu and even took photos for us. Both still and sparkling water are on the house (and they told us upfront) which we appreciated. Onto the food! From happy hour menu we chose crispy lemony brussel sprouts which had the perfect crisp and char. Very very nice. Also got oysters - we enjoyed both types offered on the menu. Very fresh! Entrees - amazing squid ink seafood pasta with mussels, scallops, shrimp and squid cooked wonderfully. Nothing chewy. Everything tasted fresh and the pasta sauce was such a treat. Also ordered the potato gnocchi which they make in house and is soft and melts in your mouth. They had pomodoro sauce and burrata on it - I am a gnocchi fan and enjoyed this very much as well. The restaurant itself is cute and clean. Great place to have a conversation over delicious dinner. Thanks Atelier for a great night!

This is a hidden !! Not sure how there are any negative reviews. We enjoyed all of our dishes. The clam chowder was a little "thin" but everything else was amazing.

We walked in with no reservation on Valentine's Day (bold), and the manager couldn't have been more welcoming. Super friendly, got us seated quickly, and set the tone right away. That kind of hospitality matters. The vibe? Cool, modern, slightly moody -- perfect accidental Valentine's dinner energy. The service was on point all night. Attentive, smooth, and genuinely warm. Now let's talk about the moment that activated my Dominican DNA. I ordered the Sweet Plantains with Cilantro Aioli as an appetizer and when I saw plátanos on that menu? República Dominicana presente. . I felt seen. For my main, I had the Temple Salad and added a burger patty (because balance is important ). Fresh, flavorful, satisfying. My son ordered a burger with truffle fries and I am STILL thinking about those fries today. Crispy. Perfect salt. That truffle flavor hit just right. Those fries deserve their own review. And because it was Valentine's Day and I believe in celebrating myself too, I had the Pineapple Express. Divine. Tropical. Smooth. The kind of drink that keeps the gozadera going. From IKEA chaos to Prime BGR glow-up in under an hour. Great food. Great vibe. Great service. New Haven confirmed it. They said they could not guarantee the patio. But we were lucky to be able to sit outside anyway. The water is magical at night. More importantly, they have a very interesting bar program and delicious food. Lots of flavors going on and they balanced extreme well. Very delicious, vacation-like, and sophisticated. The bread here was also delicious as well the butter and the black salt it was served with. They have a whole vegan menu, but there were also some vegetarian things on the main menu so I stick with that. The beet salad was incredible. Huge portion, and some very delicious blue cheese which was in the dressing. It was very filling and I still had some to take back to my hotel. The wild mushroom "bolognese" (meatless) was tasty too, but it had a little too much of an herb (thyme?). Otherwise the meal was so very delicious and the setting was beautiful. It was founded by restaurateurs Daniel Kay, Marc Knight, and Robert Bolduc. Knight and Bolduc had previously had success when they opened the popular southwestern restaurant Geronimo Tequila Bar & Southwest Grill in the Elm City in November 2007. Kay had spent nearly 15 years serving as the president of Connecticut Fluid Power. In 2015, the three business partners came together to open a new venture at New Haven's historic City Point. The location (on the ground level below the Pequonnock Yacht Club) had been home to several restaurants for decades (most recently to Sage American Grill & Oyster Bar). After a complete remodel, they opened Shell & Bones. The trio brought in the award-winning executive chef Arturo Franco Camacho to serve as the culinary director. My wife and I recently had a lunch date at Shell & Bones. The restaurant had been on our bucket list for some time. We loved the nautical theme of the decor as well as the amazing views of New Haven Harbor. We were seated in the indoor patio; it was a little too cold and rainy during our visit for al fresco dining. For drinks, I ordered "The Breakfast Bloody Mary" (Ostreida oyster vodka, Tres Agaves Bloody Mary mix, chorizo, cocktail shrimp, bacon, cornichon, olives) while my wife had the "Lavender Limoncello Spritzer". The cocktails were just as visually pleasing as they were delicious. From the raw bar, we shared four "Lucky Lady" oysters, which were super light and smooth. For our entrées, I had the "Crab Cake B.L.T." (sweet & spicy bacon, romaine, tomato, chipotle mayo, brioche roll) and my wife had the "Shell & Bones Lobster Roll" (served hot w/ house-made Lobster Butter). For our sides, we both ordered "Hand Cut Truffle Parmesan Fries". My sandwich was bursting with flavor, my wife's lobster roll was one of the best we ever had, and the fries were just the icing on the cake. We looked over the dessert menu (which looked great), but we were way too full. We had a fantastic experience at Shell & Bones and look forward to returning!
