Went there while visiting from out of town and got a dip manicure (something I've been doing for years, I have had one a month since 2017). It was clear the man doing my nails was rushed and sloppy, but he followed the steps that I've seen at other salons so went with it. One nail chipped THE NEXT DAY. What was I doing you ask? Obviously something super hard on my nails because everyone knows dip can last while, right? Wrong. I was opening my wallet. I had to file my nail significantly down to hide it. Two days later, another nail chipped. What was I doing that caused this? Putting on a pair of pants. So that's two chips in 3 days. It's now day 5 and three more nails are very close to chipping. The edges are sloppy. It's laughable this is how they perform work, but I understand mistakes happen. I call the salon and ask for a refund and offer to send pictures. They refuse to entertain it, saying it's not their policy and I should have spoken up at the time. Spoken up about...what? Should I have had a sixth sense to know my nails were to chip? Come on. They did mention they have a 2 week guarantee, however being from Chicago and visiting, this is obviously not feasible. So I guess go here any expect poor quality but if you can go back every day? Who has that kind of time? Likely won't be back to ABQ, but putting this out there for local ladies. See pics below and good luck! Update 1 - 2 more nails have chipped since I wrote this 3 hours ago. All I did was put on my coat and reach in my purse for my wallet. Such a joke. A dispute has been filed with my credit card company with plenty of proof of this poor service. Update 2 - 7 days after getting this manicure, 9/10 nails are chipped. The salon refuses to do anything. This is without a doubt the worst manicure I've had in my life. Update: While I love going here for my gel pedicure, always amazing, I won't be getting another manicure from here. I've had two dip powder manicures from here. Both by the same gentleman. They both started having issues within a few days of the manicure. The clear coat bubbled and peeled, and then the dip powder began to chip. I've gotten dip powder before as well as gel polish manicure and I can usually go a few weeks before having a problem. After the first manicure, I immediately let Jenn know and she told me to come back and she would make it right. Unfortunately, the same gentleman did the second manicure and I had the same results. After paying for both manicures with the same result I've opted to just get pedicures from there. I can't speak highly enough about their pedicure though. I love the selection of essential oils, the time and care spent with my pedicure, the massage, and the hot stones. It's the most relaxing part of my month. They have a great selection of gel polish and they take the time to ask what I'm looking for without being pushy about other services. The atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxing and I usually enjoy my time spent I loved the service and the menu of available services. Great place and great pedicure! Really unprofessional nail job. Looks dreadful. But first, I absolutely loved the dog Echo. That was the reason I chose your place. But honestly this was a horrible nail job. I have gone to 2 different nail places today. They can't even believe how bad ny nails look. This was $60. My nails are too thick, lumpy & clumpy looking, they feel rough, are sharp in some places filed terribly. My real nail is showing in a couple places, they are not sharp shaped as I asked nor are they smooth. The nails are nothing like the design I chose and they couldn't do any design I showed them. Again, I love the service dog so I went there but this was a very bad nail job. The Athena Day Spa is a nice little place for a quick pedi. I took my mom here and we got the $32 Nuskin pedi that used different products than the traditional pedi. The pedi was simple but quick. The massage wasn't long (which wasn't terrible, but I was hoping for a bit longer). The girl that did my pedi was super quiet and didn't say much, but my mom's girl was super nice and chatted with us. My nail tech initially messed up on my flower, but repainted it. The finished (redo) flower was a little messy/bumpy, but I was able to spruce it up and fix it by adding a jewel at home. Overall, I would probably return here if we were in the area. I would definitely go back to the girl who did my mom's nails (she was really good). As a major highlight, the place is clean. They use little liners in the foot tubs which is a big plus for me, and they wear gloves. If your in the area, this is a decent place to get your nails done. read more

The good: generally friendly service, clean, easy to book The not so good: I got a gel pedi here right before Christmas. By the time I got home, one big toe had a noticeable, but not huge, chip in it. It's pretty far from my house so I just figured it was bad luck. I went weird a friend and the tech who did her pedi was very friendly and asked my friend's preferences for nail shape, length, etc. The tech who did mine did not make eye contact and only spoke to confirm which pedi I chose, which essential oil I wanted and that i wanted gel polish. Despite that, I went back the following week (last week) to get a full set of acrylic nails. I haven't been out in ages (thanks Covid) and I haven't had my nails done in years. Once again, the nail tech (a different person) only interacted as needed to get the nails done. It was very fast. I didn't look closely at them until later that night. I'd never had a manicure so far from the cuticle; I ignored that... I'd mention it when i got a fill. Then I noticed one hand had two really lumpy nails. Disappointing, but the glitter hid it pretty well. The other hand had two jaunty nails, lol - like they were not in line with my finger, one angled towards the thumb, the other towards the pinky. Ok. I booked my next set elsewhere. Well. I'm glad I did... I got these done last Tuesday. Today is Wednesday, 8 days out, and they are falling off. Super bummed. I may have caught people on bad days. Mimi is a miracle worker. Period. I brought her my weary, brittle, pathetic little nubs of nails with the hopes that maybe we can do something to make them look somewhat decent before a family wedding, but she did more than that. Super disappointing - slightly snotty here. Came in (literally with my luggage) from out of town, wanted an appointment. They linda looked around, spoke in another language, then seemed to mutually decide that they could not (would not) take another appointment. Listen - I did not pre-plan; did not have an appointment. But there's something to be said for the way people respond or interact. This place literally could not have cared less and barely answered. Had to ask multiple times for other suggestions - not because of a lack of understanding. Just because they really were hard to get a reply from. I waited a little bit after getting my nails done here to do a review. I wanted to get myself a pedicure prior to having my baby shower and was able to get an appointment early in the morning on a Saturday. They were busy the entire time I was here and constantly were taking new bookings. I enjoyed my pedicure and was able to also squeeze in a manicure. I don't often get a manicure because I work in the outdoors and damage my nails. They've held up pretty well at work! My toes look great. Okay, idk how many spas or salons I've been to that physically can't do my nails better than I can do them at home. This spot hit! I am so happy with my mani/pedi. I made an appointment with the manager Jenny! I think it's super awesome that when making an appointment they take a card to book, helps to make sure people don't skip out on appointments. Smart when they are always so dang busy! They have such a wide variety of both aromatherapy pedicures and a variety of different options for nails, from dip to acrylics and more. They aren't doing facials and some of the spa treatments currently because of COVID policies. I can't wait to get some of the other services they offer! I went with a dip set for the first time and did just a regular spa pedicure! She was extremely carful with cuticles and didn't cut me like most do. Thank goodness. I had an appointment for a mani/pedi. I walked in behind a couple. When greeted the couple was asked if they had an appointment. The woman did, the man did not. The woman asked if he could have a pedicure. The staff person went to the back and came out stating, yes, he could have a pedicure and walked them back to the pedicure area. It is 20 minutes past my appointment time and was asked to wait as the pedicure area is now full. 30 minutes later (50 minutes after my appointment) I am told it will be just a bit longer. In the meantime, people are moving from the pedicure area to the manicure area. Other's are escorted to the empty pedicure stations. One hour after my appointment, a woman walks in at her appointment time. The owner immediately seats her and begins giving her a pedicure. I ask about my status and am informed a stylist had left for the day and they were trying to work me in. I stated I was leaving and promptly told the two women who walked in good luck as the Spa was not adhering to their appointment time. This caught the owners attention and she came out apologizing and trying to offer free pedicure next time. I told her I would not be coming back. I could understand the issues if they were running behind. However, it was unacceptable to take a walk in and have a returning customer, with an appointment, sit and wait for over 60 minutes. And to view my appointment as less important than others walking in with appointments. read more

Got a great mani pedi here! They take their time and have lots of options on the 'menu'. I was really satisfied with my look. I don't get glitter/sequins/designs, because I tend to stay conservative with nails. But for folks who are into shine, they have a wide selection of glitters. Update: well my nail tech doesn't work here anymore, so I won't be coming back anymore. The salon is clean and nice, the massage chairs are still amazing, but my tech is the only reason I kept coming back. I don't really know what happened or care. Even the last time I was there I could tell there was a rift with staff, and when it starts effecting customer service you're doomed. Everyone else that works here feels very standoffish or even rude. The few times I came in and had to talk to anyone else was pretty uncomfortable and I didn't feel wanted. I've been coming here for years and the last time (a month ago) I got a fungus infection.

I really wanted to live this place. It has a great atmosphere and is well run. However my experience with my mani pedi wasn't up to my expectations. I have been using shellac on my nails for years using CnD products. This salon used Shellac with many more coats of nail polish than I have ever gotten. In less than a week, my nails are breaking down. I'm not sure these folks know how to work with Shellac. My pedi is also breaking down and pedi usually last a long time.
