    Chicken Tetrazini
    Felix S.

With large portions and delicious flavors, this is authentic Greek food. I had the lunch special for Thursday which was a Chicken Tetrazini and it was amazing! Service was fast and friendly, a real customer-first restaurant! I personally like the decorations, very Greek and clean.

This restaurant looks, feels, and tastes like it's stuck in the 90s, and not in an endearing way. The food was surprisingly bland. I eat a lot Greek/Mediterranean and this has to be the most Americanized version I've ever tasted. I should have known, as there wasn't a single person among the staff or in the kitchen that looked Greek and the manager was certainly South Asian. I find that quite odd, given that the entire premise of this restaurant is Greek Authenticity (see website). The only thing that felt slightly worth the money was the spinach pie and pizza. I really think they should just stick to serving pizza, honestly. The spinach pie was truly delicious, but the pizza was nothing to brag about. The crust tasted like standard white bread. I wasn't sure if it was handmade or previously frozen. I base pizza/crust ingredient quality on whether or not I experience heartburn after, and this led me straight to heartburn city :( They also gave us a spoon to serve the pizza with which was tacky and shows that this place cuts corners. Nothing else purchased (see pictures) was worth talking about. The only thing I remember about the side bread and side salad was that the oil they use for the base of the sauce tasted horrible and was overpowering. I couldn't finish it. The ambience felt like an IHOP (no shade to IHOP). It is barely clean. And it took such a long time just to get our drink orders. Our server was the manager and the service was just not good. I will say that there was mostly an older crowd in the restaurant, presumably people who've been regulars here since the restaurant opened and hopefully experienced better days. They seemed to enjoy it. I just don't see how else this place stays open, but I can see it being nostalgic for some people as it's been around for a long time. The food just isn't good for those looking for something... sophisticated. The pizza is the safest thing to order.

Mousaka with extra wonderful thinly flaked spinach which they offered as a surprise.

Absolutely outstanding food and service. Their eggplant parm is delicious. Tried the Mousaka And it was really good. They go above and beyond with service as well

My @diningoutatl Passbook is my go to method of trying New restaurants in the city and surrounding areas. Last night I tried @athenspizza for the first time and I can definitely see why it's a neighborhood favorite. @athenspizza clearly has a regular crowd. Each evening offers a different special. Monday was "Baked Spaghetti" ; which was ordered. I also wanted to try the Mediterranean Pizza and ordered a small 6in. The pizza was absolutely delicious and the crust was divine! The spaghetti contained mushrooms which I enjoyed but, if you don't like them you'll need to request for them to be omitted. Great food and friendly service! I'll definitely be back!

I came here with my family as Athens pizza has traditionally been a great place to eat. The waitress was very nice and on point. Ambiance very casual with the greek and or mediterranean paintings on the wall . My chicken and potatoes were great but the green beans lacked flavour and were tasteless maybe needed spice? Also the waitress had too much perfume on some patrons like my aunt have heightened sensitivity to it. Anyway, all things considered still a good place to eat in Dekalb county.

We came here on a Saturday afternoon, because it was in the Dining Out Passbook for a BOGO deal. We got 14 inch pizza for $14 and 10 inch Athens Special pizza for $15. Pizza was good ne satisfying. Cheese pizza was a great deal. The only thing I wish the crust was a bit thinner

I was craving some good Athenian cooking so I paid a visit to the Athens Pizza restaurant on Clairmont Road near the Emory campus. Great parking and easy access to the restaurant. This is a family owned business which caters to the locals most of which are affiliated with Emory. There prices are very reasonable and the portions do not disappoint. Pizza is their specialty but I go for other Greek dishes. The restaurant is large with belly dancing accommodating a crowd when they have it. Call to see the days and hours. The menu includes plenty of choices for a do it yourself pizza, or you can opt for a pita wrap. their lamb and beef which is roasted on a tall skewer is juicy and tender. Love their tzatziki sauce. Service is always with a smile. This particular night I brought my food home. It was well packaged and what was hot could have been reheated in the aluminum lined to go box. But there was no need. The salad which comes with the meal as well as a piece of spanakopita, were both delicious.

    Chicken Kabob Platter
    Lili J.

I can only speak for the takeout but I thought it was just okay, not really anything special. I got the chicken kabob platter and I thought that the pita was great but nothing else was that good. The chicken had an okay seasoning but was a little overcooked. I wanted fries and got Greek potatoes instead that had a good seasoning but was not what I ordered. The lettuce was just lettuce, nothing exciting, and not super fresh. I guess the pizza is better but I doubt I'll go back.

Service was painfully SLOW. A trip to Greece would have been faster. Unless you are retired and have nowhere to go SKIP this one.

The service has always been really great, and the owner is genuinely nice and always ready for a pleasant conversation. But sometimes the food comes out... average at best? I really only come here when I have the taste for mediterranean fare but don't feel like cooking it since it's so nearby. There are some things they do well. I like their baba ganoush, hummus, and beet salad. But other things are a bit lackluster and the meats can be a hit or miss. Sometimes it's dry, other times it's succulent. The pita is toasted, but you can surely tell it isn't made fresh. My husband is obsessed with wings and even he said the wings served here are a BIG no. Also cannot recommend the fries, as they've been notoriously dry and cold. Perhaps we should not have expected good wings given that it's primarily mediterranean fare lol. The parking situation is also abysmal. They share a really small lot and the individual spots are poorly marked. This place is off of Briarcliff and the traffic is notorious for being bad, so that makes coming and going that much harder in a lot that's already a little treacherous. When the parking lot is full, it is like playing 2-ton Tetris. I'll also note that the hours can sometimes be a suggestion, and they unexpectedly close earlier than indicated (but will leave a handwritten note). This place seems to be a local favorite. The prices are nice. I just wish it was more reliable with taste and quality.

We are big fans of Mediterranean food and found this place when we searched. When we walked in, we were greeted by a host and got sat pretty quickly. The food was tasty-- I ordered the salmon steak and they were willing to give me all greens for my sides. The gambas had too much oil for my liking as well as the calamari.

We were seated promptly, and the restaurant wasn't too loud, which made it easy to enjoy conversation at the table. I ordered the eggplant parmesan, my friend got the goat cheese ravioli (her favorite and usual order), and the other person in our group ordered the salmon. They both seemed to enjoy their meals. There was a mix-up with my order when the kitchen sent out chicken parmesan instead of the eggplant parmesan, even though our server confirmed that eggplant had been entered correctly. They took the plate back and remade my meal, which I appreciated, but that was the extent of how the situation was handled. The eggplant parmesan itself was okay overall. The eggplant was a little tough, though that may have been because they were trying to get my replacement meal out quickly so I wasn't left watching my friends eat for too long. Overall, I'd be willing to give Cafe Lily another try, but this visit was just okay for me.

It's from 3-6pm Monday through Thursday (I believe). They have $6-8 cocktails and a variety of food in the $5-10 range. The food was all fantastic, as was our waiter. He constantly checked on us, kept the complimentary bread supplied, and gave great recs for both food and cocktails. I love a waiter who explains the menu so you know what you're getting into beforehand. As we were leaving, it was torrentially down-pouring and the host was so kind to let me borrow his umbrella to get to my car. My friends and I tried the Muhammara Dip, the Feta Cheese Rolls (reminiscent of spanakopita but no spinach and in roll form), the Truva Dumplings, and the Iskender Kebab. The Iskender Kebab and the Muhammara were the best of the bunch, but overall I think I was expecting more punch from the spices and greater nuance in the flavors of each dish. The thing I honestly enjoyed most was the complimentary bread and sun-dried tomato dip, which has gotten a number of shoutouts of Yelp already. I would come back to this spot to get a handful of appetizers, eat that bread, and hang out for a few hours. It does seem like the restaurant needs more staffing. Everyone we saw was very kind, but it took a long time to get a server's attention whenever we needed something.

My girlfriend has a very strict diet due to food sensitivities, so before ordering she specifically asked about the dough, bread, and flours used in the food. Unfortunately, instead of receiving details about the ingredients, she was simply told that she could eat it. Based on that information, she ordered the meal, but later had a reaction to the dough that was used. This was frustrating because the situation likely could have been avoided if we had been given accurate information about the ingredients from the beginning. We completely understand that not every restaurant can accommodate every dietary restriction, but being transparent about what is used in the food allows customers to make informed decisions for themselves. The food itself was good, which is why we're giving 3 stars, but the service on this particular issue left us disappointed. We hope the restaurant can do a better job of providing ingredient information when customers ask, especially for those with dietary restrictions or sensitivities.
