I unfortunately came at a bad time, where six undecisive youngsters were picking and choosing which item(s) to get. There's a self checkout pad and they only accept card. I ordered the bulgogi one. The food was okay. Took them 30 seconds for them to assemble it and took me 30 seconds to devour it. It came in the small container, which unfortunately made a mess as when I grabbed the food with chopsticks, bits of bulgogi and rice came down on my pants. I was a big fan of Atoyubu in bueno park and hearing that there was one in diamond bar, I was so happy to have one a bit closer of a drive to me. All I have to say this place hits just the same as the other locations. These tofu pockets filled with rice and different toppings are such a filling and delicious treat I believe everyone should try these at least once. My go tos are always going to be the salmon and the crab, but I truly believe you can't go wrong with any as long as its up to your preference. Worth the hype! I decided to just order online and pick up to go. The process was pretty easy and smooth. I've been here twice already and the service and food have been consistent and both times very flavorful and delicious! Out of all the things I've tried, I recommend the fresh salmon yubu and the tuna ginger yubu! The grilled bulgogi yubu was also really good for a "cooked" option. I feel like you can pass on the lemon pepper salmon and the chipotle is ok, but not my favorite. Will be coming again! I had this place bookmarked for their original location in Buena Park, but I just happened to see they just recently opened one near Rowland Heights, which was perfect as I had an errand in that area. This place serves up inari pockets with various fillings, and I am a fan. I got the fresh salmon and garlic crab (imitation crab) which were around $5-6 each depending on which type you get. I personally loved both of them a lot as the filling is flavorful and fresh and the rice is of good quality. Here's what I tried: - Fluffy Egg w/ Myungran: If you love soft textures and salty-sweet flavors, this one is it. The fluffy egg is so satisfying, and the myungran gives it a flavorful depth. My personal favorite. - Spicy Tuna: My next favorite. Super fresh and packed a punch. The fish is so fresh, and the spice is real, and there's a seasoning on top that reminded me of the Shin Ramyun soup packet (in the best way). - Garlic Butter Crab: Think California roll, but torched -- with smoky, buttery goodness on top. It's rich, savory, and just the right amount of indulgent. - Plain Yubu: I threw this in as a backup in case I wasn't full. Jokes on me, because I was stuffed. But they were still delicious. These come in a 2 pack, and these were torched on the top too. Overall, the food is thoughtful, flavorful, and fun. It's not fancy, but it delivers on flavor and creativity. You actually should be full with 3 but very satisfied with 4. I recommend the grilled eel and the crab. I also got the tuna and octopus but they weren't as good as the grilled / warmed up ones. The thing docking the star is just the amount of salt. As I took each bite and after the meal, I really felt the saltiness of the meal and it wasn't very pleasant. This is my second time picking up food from this place. So far I have tried the fresh salmon, spicy tuna, lemon pepper salmon and grilled bulgogi. My favorite is the fresh salmon. The first time I came I was indifferent about trying it. I went because my daughter wanted to try it. However it was a pleasant surprise. It has a good layering ratio. Don't be fooled by the size. It seems small but it is amount of good. I can eat 2 of them and feel full. I think a guy with an appetite might want 3-4. I think the price is good for the ingredients and portion given. Beautiful food presentation. Okay... How do I explain the taste to those who have never eaten it. Well it had a new but familiar taste of you eat salmon sushi. The tofu skin is a touch of sweetness, the rice balances the sweetness and the fresh almond salmon gives it that familiar flavor to those who have eaten sushi. Adding wasabi or some hot sauce gives it that extra spice flavor. I did like the grilled bulgogi. There is a sauce they have with it and I think I'd asked not to include the extra sauce because it makes it more sweet. I really like the lemon pepper I feel like it gives a good balance of sweet and savory. However my daughter thought it was a little salty. I would like to try other flavors. Spicy tuna... Was spicy! If you like that buldock spice, this one is for you. I staff is very friendly. Service is quick. The place is clean and comfortable with good lighting. I was a bit disappointed because they ran out of salmon by the time we got there D: My boyfriend loved everything but I personally didn't like it as much; I felt overwhelmed by the amount of rice in the tofu pockets and wish they gave more protein. Out of everything we tried the garlic butter crab was my favorite ! I do wish they offered non spicy tuna since the spicy was SUPER spicy (they did warn us but I was still curious) and I am usually a tuna girl but the only other option they had was ginger -- I'm not a fan of ginger. I'd come back to try their salmon, but was a bit disappointed coming for the first time. It was also kinda messy to eat and I'm someone who hates a mess while eating. The workers were so kind and helpful -- answered all the questions we asked! The price point for each of these were at around $5 so not too bad // amazing for this economy LOL. Most of the tables are circles so it is hard to seat big parties. You order at a kiosk at the front and they call your name when your yubu pockets are ready. They have opened on Sundays! I have tried the Buena Park location and was impressed with the flavor and how much two items fill me up, leaving me satisfied. The salmon in the fresh salmon was very fresh and vibrant. The garlic imitation crab was very buttery, leaving me feeling a little stuffed due to the fattiness. Eel tastes just as you would imagine it to be. I would say that the items had a sweetness to it that I personally liked. There's good parking! There might be a long wait since in my visit, there was a long line (but that may stem from opening on Sundays for two weeks). The service was very nice as well! Sweet tofu skin pockets packed with rice and filling and whatever it's topped with is up to you! I ordered the Garlic Butter Crab and Lemon Pepper Salmon. Came out to around a little over 10 bucks. They both come torched on top. The Garlic butter crab was my preferred choice, the salmon was good as well, but I think I just prefer the flavor of raw salmon more, so definitely a lot of other more sushi like options to try next time! The toppings portion is quite generous and is not only just rice, it may seem like you need to order several to get full, but I think 2 can definitely do the trick. read more
