Service: really great for a food truck. We forgot part of our order and they went out of their way to make sure we got it. They even put in a dessert to make up for the fact that we had to drive back, Ambience: it's a food truck so not the nicest since it's a parking lot but they had a cool sit down area they share with the taco truck. They also have a pani puri stand where you can watch them assemble and also make the sugar cane juice. Food: Samosa chaat: was amazing and very flavorful. Definitely our favorite. I would want to come back and try the pani puri and other chaats since this dish was so good and their chutneys are clearly delicious. Handi Chicken: first I found this way too oily (or I guess gheey). Then personally I did not care for the taste. Flavors were a bit too earthy. Cashew cream on the side didn't add much flavor. Paneer Lababdor: again too much oil/ghee. I liked the cashew base here more than the chicken. But overall wasn't the most flavorful curry again didn't feel like the cream on the side added much. Overall 3.5 rounding up. I would come back for the chaats and skip the curry.

I stopped by here with a friend and ordered achari soya chaap and chicken lababdar combo. The combo comes with rice, 2 roti, and some yogurt. I was curious to find out that combo and normal order were same pricing but in reality, if you just order the curry you get a bigger container, I guess the 16 oz one, and with combo you get 8 oz. Nevertheless, I believe the owner and staff here were very well organized and friendly. They grill the chaap in front of you and it smells just amazing. There are some tables to sit down and a lot of people can be seen eating atop their cars. The soya chaap was just amazing. My friend recommended achari soya chaap because it has better marination and at the end it also gets served in the cream sauce similar to afghani chaap. I thought the chutney on the side didn't have much appeal to the body or to the taste. But soya chaap was just amazing. I wanted to try handi chicken but it's not boneless, so my friend preferred chicken lababdar and it also didn't disappoint us. You can think of it as more spice rich and flavorful butter chicken. It was just amazing and the combo was right enough to fill us up. They also have live jalebi, pani puri, and other such stuff. I overheard one manager talking to customer about how their sugarcanes today aren't sweet enough even after couple of different batches he had tried so he was asking them to take something else as alternative or he can refund them. I thought these are small things that probably help them build a loyal customer base, if you stay loyal to your taste. I'll surely love to visit this place again.

I stopped by this place on Diwali Day this year. Firstly, the vibe was chill with a few food trucks (Indian and Mexican) serving casual fare. However, their tandoor grilled paneer was PHENOMENAL. I ordered the malai paneer tikka. It took a while to cook, but it was fresh grilled paneer, cooked with a very flavorful mix of spices in a sauce made out of heavy cream. The dish was very rich, and one portion felt quite filling for 2 of us. However, it is the best paneer I have had in the Bay Area. Definitely worth a try! We also got Kadhi Chawal which was delicious, albeit a little spicy for my taste, and dahi puri. I was surprised by the fact that this food truck adds black grams and dry fruits to their pani puri / dahi puri, making it full of protein! Overall service was quick and we were done with our meal in ~30 minutes.

Great food truck. They have outdoor seating options or take away. We had keema paav, bhuna gosht and kadhi pakora. Everyone was happy with the food. You can either have combo or order bread and curry separately. They had paani puri options as well. This was the best outdoor food i had in California.

I tried Atulya Bharat when they came to California State University, East Bay on a Thursday for lunch service. Quite a few items on the menu to choose from, which was great. I ordered the Handi Chicken Combo, which came with chicken, basmati rice and some veggies. The chicken was very tender and the curry that it was simmered in was delicious. I would consider ordering again. Took a star off because I didn't like how it was served on a simple biodegradable plate. The chicken curry was served in a small plastic container, and the rest was on a plate. I had to ask for another plate to be able to somewhat cover the food. It would have been better if they packaged the food in a better more togo style container rather than a simple open faced plate. The customer service was decent, the people working their were friendly and approachable to questions.

They have shifted to a new location from today which is 1073 E El Camino Real Sunnyvale & their new timings are from noon to 9 pm every day ( 7 days in a week). Perfect rainy weather for some Bhuna Ghost & Rajma Masala. So I called & ordered via phone did a quick pickup this location has nice parking spaces since there are so many business around in the area. As always both the dishes were delectable and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Will go back again for more dishes from their menu.

I got takeout from here last night. I've gotten takeout from here before but somehow this time, it didn't quite taste as good. I loved the smell of the food, the spices and the aroma just came together really well. But when I took the first bite, didn't quite taste as good as it smelt. It lacked flavor and maybe salt. The samosa chat was pretty good though. The chicken curry was cooked well, I liked the curry better than the meat pieces. Rotis were good too. Overall, an average.

Never judge a book by its cover, although Atulya Bharat is a food truck, it has one of the best Northern Indian food I've tried. :P Everything was so flavorful!! So good! I can't wait to come back. I usually don't like lentils, but the lentils here was delicious. It was perfect with the Handi Chicken (must order) and the Makai ki chaat (corn), which tasted like an Indian version of elote but more refreshing than creamy. Both the Vegan Keema Pav and Bhuna Gosht were super tasty. Don't forget their infamous Pani Puri and Dahi Puri- it was so much fun watching them make it. These were so delicious! Crunchy, savory and sweet- little pieces of heaven. Make sure to order extra food, the left-overs were so good for brunch the next day.

I have been wanting to try this food truck for a long time. We ordered gol gappas, paneer lababdar and afghan malai chaap. The gol gappas had 3 kinds of water: mint, sweet and one more which I don't remember. The person serving the gol gappas was really good. He even made our chaap order on time. The gol gappas are good, I won't say they are the best. But I was pleasantly surprised by Paneer Lababdar, it's absolutely AMAZING! the gravy was so flavorful and paneer was super soft. The chaap was also really tasty, my whole family really liked it.

Ok Saturday evening and we were looking to get some good north Indian fare from a place we had not tried in a while. We recollected that, we had not tried Atulya Bharat in many weeks. So we quickly got into our car and reached the food truck. Was looking to greet Chef Atulya, but the truck was managed by a team of Hispanic crew today . While we loved the efficient handling of our order taking ( & especially loved the cute way, the lady who took our order pronounced the names of the dishes ) we were a bit apprehensive whether the food would taste as authentic as when Chef Atulya is around . But we needn't have worried ! So we got our favorites - Rajma Masala and Bhuna Ghosht . The Rajma Masala was just as superb as we have become accustomed to and expect from chef Atulya. The Rajma, which was cooked to perfection, was soft and velvety . The masala too was thick, tasty and with the subtle use of the main spices, this was Chef Atulya at his best! As always! The Bhuna Ghosht was also just as incredible as it always is. Succulent fall-of-the-bone meat and spices that made up the gravy were so subtle and yet aromatic and flavorful. Waah! Lajawab! Is what comes to mind (Translates from Hindi to " Wow !" "Wonderful! " ) And the fact that we had gone to get them, rather than getting them delivered through Door-dash, ensured they stayed piping hot till they were served! We had a feast! Hope this makes your mouth water and you plan to visit this gem of a place soon ! Thanks again Chef Atulya for heeding the request I had made the first time I had visited , to keep up the quality and authenticity of your dishes! You certainly have and I can vouch for it again today !

Who doesn't love food trucks? Atulya Bharat has it all. The most important is the food. It has it is spades. The samosa chaat was perfect. Crisp and crunchy samosa with amazing chole. And the treat was a live pani puri stand. 3 flavors of pani and the puri's are from Pani Puri company so you know they are using the best ingredients. The guy even made me a special sukha puri for the last one. So yeah, the food is awesome. And the rest of the experience was great too. The problem with food trucks is usually you get the food, but then what. AB has plenty of tables and chairs for you to sit on and enjoy your food. They are under a nice pop up canopy tent and some fun sting lights with a disco ball. Music playing in the background, good food, nice drinks. It's a great spot to have a wonderful meal!

I was craving some Indian food late yesterday and a Yelp search and their great ratings brought me here. I called in to order and they send me a text link to order and it worked quickly and smoothly. They were very busy even though it was late at night and that is always a good sign. The food was really good and definitely stands out in the sea of Indian restaurants in the South Bay. The desi slider and the paneer labadaar were delicious. They did however miss some items in the order which I did not realize until I got home.. It's not that I expect perfection but what I value more is how a business responds when there is an issue. In this case, Priya was very responsive, apologetic and made it right. Well done!

Trying 4 the 1st time to taste the hype :-)

I and my husband are Bay Area foodies so when I randomly saw an Indian Food Truck I was like I gotta get some! I am so glad I did! I talked to the team on the truck and to their chef. Very friendly and knowledgeable about authentic Indian food! I got two masalas and one of them was made with goat! So tender and delicious! The chicken masala was my first choice and I loved both masalas on tender beautiful rice with raita and fresh lime,.onions and tomatoes as a garnish. Food was decent although not great; prices are okay. We were however waiting for our food 45 minutes - unacceptable for a food truck. Several people who came after us got their food before us, so it looks like they prioritized others. They kept saying '5 more minutes', '10 more minutes'. And it was a simple dish. No apologies at all or anything to make up for it. Unacceptable. read more

We're visiting San Jose and came across this food truck all thanks to our Indian food craving. We went by all the reviews and each & every word written here holds true. I'm a North Indian myself and very particular about the taste & flavors when it comes to Indian food. The food at Atulya Bharat is authentic, fresh, tantalizes your taste buds and leaves you wanting for more. The palak pakodi chat was one of my favorites and so was the paneer lababdar. While my husband and son thoroughly enjoyed the Bhuna Gosht & Handi chicken. This is not your regular Indian food that you get here in the states, which is fully loaded with thick gravy and cream. If you want to experience real Indian food, visit this place and you won't regret it. Each bite took me back home and reminded me of all amazing food my grandmother used to cook. We live in Seattle where there are so many Indian restaurants, but nothing matches the taste and authenticity of the food served here. read more

Delicious Indian food! I ordered two orders of handi chicken- one with roti and one with paratha. I definitely loved the kick it has and the tender meat. The sauce is delicious and the rice portion is huge. I also ordered two samosas and those were so delicious. I wish they were less oily though. We came here on a sunday afternoon. We ordered samosa chaat, kadai combo, chole and a few other items. Everything was well made and fresh. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that this is in a gas station, so very little parking available. And they also have only 2 tables if you want to eat there. The music was also too loud considering the speakers are right next to the tables and we had to ask them to turn it down. Overall I think its worth it fora takeout. Portions are ok, if you are very hungry I suggest ordering more. read more

In over 25 years I think I have tried more than my share of Indian restaurants in the Bay Area, but this one was surely on top of my list. A Indian food truck with a home cooking twist of flavors and presentation! I must admit I was thoroughly satisfied after eating. Reminded me of my grandmother's cooking which is hard to match ! We were looking to cater an outdoor party for 35 people and Atulya Bharat was a wonderful choice. The food was very good and the Pani Poori live counter was a huge hit ! The three persons that showed up for setup and service were super sweet and very accommodating. This is a small food truck near Campbell that has some DELICIOUS food! The service was fairly quick and they are very clean. Being a vegetarian, I was so happy to see them changing gloves after handling meat. The pani puri on a chilly evening with Kishore Kumar playing was only missing chai. First time for us to try an Indian food truck. We tried it on a whim after reading about it on Yelp. What a treat!! The vegetarian food we ordered was very delicious and not overly greasy or creamy. The kulchas were sooo good. And so was the Dhabba Daal and Amritsari Chole. The parathas were a nice triangular shape (like back home), though they did get a little hard/brittle by the time we got the food home. Overall a superb experience. read more

We noticed this food truck while passing by El Camino Real in Sunnyvale and ordered for delivery in a later day to try their food. We ordered the Kadhi rice combo, Paneer lababdar, aloo tilki chat and pani puri. The items came well packed and sealed. Reading other reviews we were eager to feel the taste. But, the Kadhi rice combo wasn't that good. It wouldn't say it was bad, but it's not something that would want to come again for or makes feels you satisfied. Rice was so dry and the curry had overpowering taste of a specific spice ingredient that can't tell which. I have been eating kadhi pakora curry for years and also around all local restaurants, but somehow this one from Atulya Bharat did not make me feel satisfied. The pani puri did not come with the flavored water mix. So it's just the puri we got. So, I would say there is nothing special or need to be felt hyped going here. It's okay to try this if you don't find food elsewhere or you don't have a choice in your day. read more

I have ordered from their truck three times so far, and I wanna say that I hope they stay awesome, I have tried Daal (which I think is great-- I got it all three times lol), bread/naan, paneer and mutton curry. I was happy with the taste, quality and quantity every time. The complex is on west bound El Camino real and there is enough parking, but just be careful getting in from the road coz there are people standing right in front of the truck, also you have to go knock on the glass panels which are always closed and there is no real way to say your food is ready. However those are minor inconveniences that can ber overlooked as long as their food redeems them. I will keep using them as long as they are good. read more

We tried the popular two vegetarian items on Yelp: Paneer Lababdar and Palak Pakodi Chat and they didn't disappoint! The prices are very reasonable and this place is perfect for a takeout meal. The paneer curry was creamy and delicious. Very different from the other paneer curries in Indian restaurants. It comes with rice and roti and was enough for 2 people. Picked up Chicken Handi and Achari Veg combo when they were stationed at Bella Vista Apartments. Very good people. Food not so much. Both combos tasted stale. Potato in the veg had definitely gone bad - got the bad taste and threw it. Roti and Paratha were also bad - they heat the frozen ones and give you. Roti was dry and paratha was not cooked. Salad with the combos was the only thing I liked. I was so hoping them to be good as they are here every Monday. read more

I stumbled upon this place on accident as I pulled over for gas. What serendipity! This is a wonderful food truck with quality food, fast service and very reasonable prices. I had several things on the menu and they were all superb. The rice was perfect, the spices were just right, and the service friendly and warm. I highly recommend you check this place out. The food was not heavy like some other places I have tried, and full of good spices and nutrients. The portions were good and I look forward to going back. read more

Freshly made, high quality Indian comfort food. Everything we had was stellar. Samosa chaat, paneer, and a chickpea dish. They were each flavorful and different from one another. So it was not like a group of things that all taste about the same and run together. The pratha that came with it was also really great. Atulya was there himself, cooking and taking orders, and he could not have been nicer. It would have been great anywhere. But doing it in a tiny cooking space is even more impressive. we went there pretty late when they were about to close but they graciously accepted our order. It was our first time trying the food and the food did not disappoint it has the perfect taste and flavour. I ordered paneer and my husband ordered bhuna gosht both dishes were flavourful. For a Saturday morning, the energy was calm -- a good sign for a small spot that could easily get overwhelmed. The waitress set the tone early. Warm, unhurried, she asked how we had heard about the place before taking the order -- the kind of question a restaurant only asks when it is still building its crowd and actually wants to know the answer. Filter coffee arrived without delay, hot, no shortcuts. The upma and mini tiffin combo followed. Portions were generous and the food arrived warm. But dish after dish played it safe right up to the edge of forgettable. The upma had correct texture with none of the assertiveness that makes a good upma worth finishing slowly. The sambar leaned thin. The chutneys were there, present and accounted for, doing the minimum. Everything assembled correctly, nothing bold enough to make you look up from the table. Meenakshi Bhavan gets enough right on a weekend morning to be worth knowing about -- clean space, genuinely warm service, honest portions. The waitress clearly takes pride in the hospitality side of things. The kitchen needs to match that energy with a firmer hand on the seasoning. Good enough for a familiar weekend breakfast. Not yet good enough to become a habit. The paintings on the walls that were Indian and Tamilnadu related was great, but the other art work seemed out of place, not sure what the thought process there was with the management. I ordered their signature matcha latte with blueberry cream top. They also have vanilla cream top and a seasonal cream top (for June 2026 it is strawberry). The first sip I was impressed by their cream top. I wasn't sure how much blueberry flavor there would be given that the cream top was white (and I had almost wondered if they mistakenly put vanilla on top instead) but was taken aback by the blueberry flavor I got. It was fragrant and very much there. The matcha on the other hand was a different story. Mine tasted watered down and tasted more of milk than matcha itself. With the cream top, the blueberry masks most of the flavor so you don't taste much of the matcha. As I sat there, I watched the staff prepare other matcha drinks and did see that they have their matcha pre-made in a jug so it's not whisked to order here. I'm not sure if it perhaps got too diluted from the milk, but unfortunately I was underwhelmed and disappointed. I'm not sure if it was just a bad batch but I couldn't resonate with everyone else on Yelp who loved their matcha.

This place does attract family and young crowd so may be a bit noisy. Also it's pretty hard to find parking in this lot. But overall still a nice option for a quick lunch!

I recently had a very disappointing experience with Atulya Bharat. We ordered a takeout of just one Paneer Lababdar curry. When we got home and opened the container, we found a sharp plastic piece in the curry. Alarmingly, the plastic piece could easily be mistaken for an onion piece, making it an even greater health hazard. Adding to the frustration, the staff we encountered at the restaurant were quite rude, making the overall experience even worse. This incident raises serious concerns about their kitchen hygiene and quality control. I hope they take immediate action to address these issues. Until then, I would strongly advise against ordering from this place. read more

I recently tried this place and ordered pani puri. Taste-wise, it was good, but the overall experience left me disappointed. First, the hygiene was a big issue. The person making my pani puri was wearing old, dirty gloves and didn't even bother to change them. Instead, they wiped the gloves with a tissue and continued preparing the food--completely unacceptable! The service wasn't any better. The staff seemed clueless, and the person taking orders didn't know how to handle them properly, making the process frustrating. Cleanliness in the seating area was also lacking. Decided to order based on yelp good reviews. Ordered bhuna gost and roti. service was ok, as expected in food truck. Website says open 12pm to 9pm, went for lunch, but found they only ooen after 5pm, came back as I really wanted to try. Bhuna ghost, horrible, no meat, just few bone pieces and container full of gravy.... Wow, should have taken pictures to show how bad it was, but went to trash very fast. About roti, i asked if it is made fresh, he said yes, but obviously it was not freshly made, just reheated. Just a bad food, no second try for me. read more

Despite the slightly longer wait, the flavor and quality were worth every minute. While the pakoras were decent, the Soya Chaap dishes were the clear winners.
