One of my favorite Turkish restaurants in the area. I've tried the outdoor seating where you cook your meats yourself kind of like Korean BBQ, but Turkish version. I've also tried their indoor seating where you can order the food off the menu. I love the appetizers, the main dishes and I always finish my dinner with cold baklava and a Turkish coffee. I love the interior design, with the images of popular Turkish places like Istanbul and others, you feel like you are in Turkey. The staff is the kindest there is in the service industry. I don't usually write negative reviews--mostly because I do my homework and tend to choose places I'm genuinely excited about. This one was disappointing enough to feel worth documenting. My boyfriend and I ended up here after attempting to go to Treehouse nearby (which had an hour wait--unsurprising given the concept). This restaurant was a short walk away, which actually worked out well given how congested the area was, and we walked in optimistic. The space itself is very large, but nearly empty for a weekday evening. It felt family-owned and casual, which I usually love--many of my favorite restaurants fall into that category. Unfortunately, the experience didn't reflect that warmth. We were given a different menu than other diners, which immediately felt odd. Service wasn't overtly rude, but it was noticeably unwelcoming--almost a "why are you here?" tone rather than hospitality. We ordered hummus and feta, both of which were surprisingly expensive for the portion and quality. We were told bread would arrive automatically with the hummus, but it didn't--despite asking multiple times. When it finally arrived, it was poorly cooked and no longer served any purpose, as we were already well into the meal. Despite the restaurant being far from busy, our mains took about 30 minutes. One dish--a kebab--was fine but very forgettable for a $30+ price point. My dish, dumplings in a yogurt-based sauce, was honestly inedible. I left it untouched and mentioned that it didn't taste good. The response was simply, "Oh, so you don't want a box?" No attempt to fix the issue or even acknowledge it. What sealed it for me was the overall condition of the place. Dirty cutlery, a generally rundown interior, and a lack of attention to cleanliness made it uncomfortable to eat there. I'm not picky about ambiance when the food and service deliver--but here, nothing quite worked together. The whole experience felt very turn-and-burn, as if the restaurant relies on proximity to a popular area rather than repeat customers. I left feeling like unless you're part of a specific in-crowd, this isn't a place that's trying very hard to win you over. Attentive and friendly staff, and the food was delicious. The bread was great, and the beef patty kofta was well-seasoned. The Sigara Böreği were rich, and there was plenty of bread to enjoy with the dips and olive oil, perfect amount of food overall. The shrimp were huge and tasted fresh. Mangal is a hidden gem! We have been passing by the restaurant for years, and we finally had the chance to check it out. The decor takes you on a journey to Turkey. Everything was flavorful and fresh. We deemed it better than Dish Dash's appetizer combo. Shhhh. The baba ghanoush was not as smoky as I am used to, but had good flavor. It was not overpowering. 2) Branzino meal - fish was cooked perfectly. The skin was crispy and flaky. The fish, although thin, was juicy. It came with a side salad and rice. Salad was delicious!!! 3) We got an assortment of meats: 1 shrimp, 2 orders of chicken shish, and 2 orders of filet mignon shish. Everything was amazingly tender and seasoned well. Initially, we thought the portions were rather small, but the food was rich and we had leftovers. The shrimp was a bit overpriced at $6/piece. 4) Their assortment of bread was amazing! Super moist and fluffy! It paired well with the appetizer combo. 5) Drinks: Maker's near and Tito's soda. Decent pour and well-balanced drink. We would definitely like to come back, but skip on the drinks and combo. We probably stick to the dinner meals as well. The first thing I have to mention is the incredibly unique free bread that is given to the table. It is a traditional Turkish bread that is huge and a nice way to compliment the meal. I still love this place but I wanted to inform any prospective guests about the honestly and integrity of this restaurant. In short theyre very honest, hardworking people, in a industry that is challenging even on its best days. I got the wrong bill, paid it, tipped on it and left but I discreetly e-mailed the restaurant several days later. They invited me back and paid me back in cash and offered dessert. One time I left my credit card here and they offered me tea, coffee and a snack! I've been here probably about once every couple months and I thank everybody from the bottom of my heart for their generosity. I've reviewed this place a few times already but I think for a group or just a couple, the food here is of the very best quality you can probably have for the money. The service has always been impeccable and Turkey in general is home to the best food, some of the best doctors, and the nicest hospitality in the world. Came here to check out their brunch offering since they are promoting it on their IG account. The staff created us and explain how it works and also explain the traditional Turkish dishes served in Buffett style. Lots of variation of flat breads, meats cooked traditionally , cheeses , vegetables , sausages and eggs. They also have Turkish desserts . It wasn't too fancy however the dishes are all delicious prepared in home style cooking. My family and I enjoyed our Turkish brunch experience. Among the highlights, the service was excellent and the menu offers a nice assortment of spreads and desserts. We were able to choose a combo of three appetizers from a much larger selection and all spreads were excellent. We had Turkish coffee and sutlac (a creme brulée dessert) that was very good. Fun spot to Turkish bbq - we sat outside at the grill tables so we could grill our own meat. They start you off with complimentary bread and rice to eat with the meat. We tried a variety of proteins incl. lamb kofte, lamb chops, marinated beef and lamb shish kebob, sujuk (spicy beef sausage), chicken wings and chicken kebab. This restaurant was beautiful, spacious and great for huge parties. They had plenty of lengthy tables and the ambience was beautiful. Love that their menu offers so many different dishes to try, enjoyed our second visit as much as we did the first. Service staff operates like a big extended family feel, warm and hospitable. Aygül was very kind and brought us some dessert samples from the kitchen for us to try -- their freshly made baklava and their kazandibi (caramelized milky pudding), which was delicious, not too sweet and is both traditional (developed in the kitchens of the Ottoman Palace) and one of the most popular Turkish desserts today. Ever since you replaced your cook, the quality of the food went way down The once soft n delicious bread was replaced with hard kind of bread with less flavor. The once delicious lentil soup now tastes not like lentil soup but something very different. The once very good chicken kebabs now Has no flavor at all. First things first I gotta shoutout Umut. Probably best customer service I've ever had in the U.S. Super friendly and helpful. He even remembered me between visits months apart, and offered me a free Baklava on my birthday. Turkish BBQ is truly a unique experience. You order your meat, then grill it yourself on the charcoal grill that's embedded in the center of the table (think Korean BBQ). The meats are your typical Mediterranean / Middle Eastern fare, such as Koobideh, Chicken Kabab, Kofta, Filet Mignon, etc. The flavors are all on point. If you like Mediterranean kebabs, this place is basically that, except you get to grill the meat yourself, which is really cool. There's unlimited rice and veggies with your meal, which I'd suggest you take advantage of. Add a little bit of grilled tomato and sumac to the rice for a perfect bite. Looking back, this place is an awesome place to get Turkish BBQ. The DIY grilling experience is fun and the service is remarkable. As a vegetarian, I looked at their menu online and didn't see any vegetarian entree for dinner. But they made a falafel dish for me, which wasn't on their menu. The dips they gave us before the meals were delicious. The hummus, tzatziki, baba ghanush, and yoghurt dip were delicious. We ate a lot of bread with these dips. Coming to the falafels, they were delicious. The falafels were crispy, seasoned, and well made. There might not be many vegetarian entree options, but the dips and falafels are plenty. It was nice you could make a reservation for this number of people - the place isn't very busy for lunch on weekdays, and you have the option to sit inside or outside. The waiters were very nice and gave good recommendations. We all ordered pomegranate juice to start with. We also ordered turkish pizza as appetizer which was one of my favorites. The meats then arrived and were the highlight of our lunch. We got beef, lamb and chicken skewers, but gotta say that the lamb chops were fire (literally).
