Located on the lobby floor of Katz LIJ Hospital. This is the only eatery (that I know of) inside the main building of the hospital. I was here visiting for 3 days straight so I pretty much spent breakfast lunch and dinner here. Now for the reviewers complaining of the high prices, what did you expect? It's located inside a hospital. It's the same when you purchase food at the movies, sporting event, etc, you're paying double or triple the regular prices. For an overpriced place it wasn't that bad. The hot sandwiches were around $7-10, premade salads were $6-10 soups were $3-6 and pastries were $2.50-$4. Everything I ordered during the 3 days tasted ok for the most part. Their soups are tasty but they're known for that.

Cudo's to this place. I see all the negative reviews. however, Being able to get some decent vegetarian and vegan fair was a real blessing staying at the hospital after surgery. The soups were all quite delicious as well as the oatmeal and other hot cereals in the morning. Pastries and grilled cheese sandwiches were yum. It's not often that I am struck with impress at places but I wanted to go out of my way to make sure everyone gets credit for such a good job.

So this Newport turkey sandwich is a good...Just not all that it's hyped up to be...I will try it again(w/ some alterations) lol

Food is good... Just a little over priced... Working so close makes this a "convenient" option for lunch...

They are attentive and courteous, even when they are super busy. They expanded their menu since they renovated the interior. I still stick for the classic Greek fare like chicken souvlaki and gyros. Their French fries are soo good! Their breakfast omelet with home fries are also so good. My friend said Louie's eggs Benedict is the best and therefore she never orders it anywhere else. Highly highly recommend! Owned by a lovely family!

Omelet & Home Fries desperately needed seasoning on all levels. Chicken and Lemon Rice Soup was adequately flavored with a nice pucker but the Olive Oil used was flowery and overpowered the delicacy of this soup. The Grilled Chicken Salad (lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes) on it's own was DELISH. The Caesar dressing that was different but edible, a little on the sweet and thin side. Thankfully, had some Homemade Caesar at home to compensate. Also, had a TEC (Turkey, freshly sliced off the bone, Egg (scrambled), and Cheese (Cheddar) on a large, pillowy roll. Enjoyable. Service...1 person put a SOUR taste in our mouths. Was immediately greeted by everyone, except the older lady who was supposed to take our order. We LITERALLY stood in front of the register for almost 10 minutes, while she greeted and helped EVERYONE around, on the side & behind us. An older jovial man finally greeted us and was apologetic and swift. If it wasn't for the long morning and afternoon we had, we would've taken our money elsewhere! It stayed busy and packed so get there early. They do try to be efficient when seating. Overall, we could give them another opportunity to see if the "selective service" by that 1 team member was a one-off! Street parking.

A classic staple that you've probably heard about but never actually got the chance to try it…read more Chicken Lovers is always busy. It's a place that you definitely need to plan ahead just to place an order. But if you have the time and patience to wait, go for it! We walked in around 1:20pm and were quoted an hour long wait. It actually took around an hour & a half to get the food. They don't always pick up the phone or allow online ordering, so if you're in the area, walking in is probably the best bet. The lunch specials are sooo worth it. We got one of each, 1/2 chicken + 1/4 ribs, sides: rice, cucumber salad, mac & cheese, and corn. The amount of food they give you is insane. How is that 1/4 of ribs?! Both the chicken and ribs were tender, juicy, and just fell apart. The green sauce of course is perfection. It's zesty, spicy, and herby- the perfect pairing to the savory meats. Plan ahead if you want to eat here!

I've known about Chicken Lovers in Bayside for the longest time and have had it bookmarked forever,…read morebut I'm rarely in the area. Today I finally made the effort to go try it for myself. We ordered one whole chicken with three sides (rice, corn, and macaroni & cheese) and a half rack of ribs with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The total came out to $50.08, which I thought was pretty reasonable for the amount of food we got. Of course, I had to try everything immediately in the car because grilled food is always best fresh and hot. Overall, I thought both the chicken and ribs were good, but I actually preferred the ribs. They are definitely on the sweeter side, but incredibly soft, tender, and literally falling off the bone. The chicken was juicy, but I personally think both the chicken and ribs could have benefited from a bit more marinade or just a little more umami flavor. The standout for me was absolutely the green sauce. It honestly elevated the meal from an 8/10 to a 10/10. It's very cilantro-forward, which I personally loved, but if you're not a cilantro person, this sauce may not be for you. As for the sides, the steamed broccoli and corn were pretty standard. The rice had a stronger bay leaf flavor than I prefer. Surprisingly, the mashed potatoes were delicious and came with gravy, which was a nice bonus. I also enjoyed the macaroni and cheese, and highly recommend trying it with the green sauce because that combo was unexpectedly so good. Overall, I'd definitely come back again. It may not have been perfect, but the food was solid, portions were good, and that green sauce alone is worth the trip.

It's been six years since I last came here. The food is still pretty good and the service was…read morefriendly, but overall I found the sandwiches a bit overpriced. The menu has very detailed, almost elevated descriptions that make everything sound spectacular, but in practice the flavors don't quite come through, especially the sauces, which are barely noticeable. Our server was flexible when we asked to swap the potato chips for fries on the kids' grilled cheese meal, which we appreciated. However, we were then charged $1.40 for a side of ranch for the fries. I understand they have a range of specialty sauces and dips that are clearly priced on the menu, but that still felt steep for ranch. They also offer a combo option to add fries for $5, but the portion doesn't really feel aligned with the price. The steak sandwich itself was surprisingly tender, even though it looked like it might be tough. That said, I couldn't taste the roasted red pepper sauce, and the "sweet onion jam" turned out to just be caramelized onions. My mother actually ended up picking them out because she doesn't eat onions. (she won't eat onions that she can see) The buffalo cauliflower was tasty, but could have been crispier. The "serves two" description also felt a bit generous given the small portion. I also ordered a brisket sandwich to go with fries. The coleslaw sounded great on the menu, but in reality the flavors didn't stand out, no real hint of jalapeño, just a fairly standard slaw. Overall, the food descriptions felt more impressive than the actual execution, though the to-go fries portion was more generous, which was a nice surprise. Would I go back? I'm not sure. Maybe for a casual visit with a few beers and fries with an assortment of dipping sauces...I am a sucker for those.
