Pardon, are you looking for an exquisite place to dine near the vineyards? Look no further. It was a beautiful drive up with stunning vineyards all around. It quite frankly reminded me much of the drive up to Haute Cabrière in South Africa, the only biggest difference is they drive on the left side of the road. Nevertheless, valet the car, friendly vibes upon entering and seated right away on the terrance. The menu had options for salads, main dishes, and desserts--they are vegan friendly. I ordered the local baby greens with market vegetables; the balsamic onions and avocados added was a nice touch. Love is the most nutritional ingredient and love was all in the details. My non alcoholic beer was a first--It arrived; it went down tangy and salty. The view from the terrance was absolutely gorgeous. In fact it took my breath away with its beauty and an immeasurable sense of peace; the restroom was quite posh. If ever in the area I recommend as it was a lovely experience. Be careful this may very well become your favorite place to get good food with a view. My husband and I went to Napa for the weekend just to get away and we wanted to go to a nice brunch and stumbled upon this place. It is a Michelin three key hotel and also a one star Michelin restaurant. We arrived about a half hour early and were able to sit at the bar and have a couple drinks and then the weather cleared up so we're able to sit on the patio and the views were awesome. There were many people that were bussing tables and serving and they were all very nice. You get to choose one drink one appetizer, one entrée and one dessert for the brunch. You can also order additional drinks if you want that, but that is all included in the price. We loved all of the food that we got, and they were not stingy with their portions and we were full after we were finished eating. If you're looking for a place that has a great brunch menu and also amazing views, I would not skip this place. They also have complementary valet for the restaurant and if you do not have cash, they do take Venmo if you would like to tip them at the end. read more

The service provided by Orlando was excellent, but the kitchen ignored a dietary request from our dining companion that she was told could be accommodated. As she sat without food while the rest of our party was eating, the staff was kind enough to bring her 2 complimentary appetizers. Unfortunately, both of these appetizers included the spice that she was avoiding, so I ended up splitting my entree with her as the rest of the party was done eating by the time her entree arrived. The fish entree was quite good, the salad was okay - nothing was very memorable. Perhaps it was an off day? WHAT WE GOT: roasted bone marrow, smoked salmon tartine, housemade campanelle, fleur de lis (drink) PROS: god the ambiance of this place is immaculate. relaxing with a touch of boujee. the balcony where the outdoor seating is overlooks a gorgeous view of the valley so definitely try to go on a day with cooperative weather. the food was also delicious. the smoked salmon tartine tasted fresh and the roasted bone marrow was basically a creamy umami bomb. the pasta dish honestly was a bit lackluster after the gloriousness of those two appetizers but it was still good. The bits of the summer squash and corn were my favorite and much needed to cut through the creaminess of the pasta a bit. We've visited multiple times over the years. This was our first post-Covid dinner and apparently I assumed things hadn't changed - wrong! Prior to Covid, you could sit in the bar or Bistro and select from the Bistro or Restaurant menu. That is no longer the case. Would have been nice to know that in advance as the Bistro menu is limited. This was supposed to be a birthday dinner and turned into tapas. The service is always on point and we ordered a bottle of terrific Rose, and brought our own bottle. Corkage is $40, but is waived if you purchase a bottle off the wine list. The setting is fantastic and the views into the valley are breathtaking. Ordered the pizza to start, then the fish of the day (salmon) and house made campanelle. Everything tasted ok, but the campanelle came out very under-cooked. Our waiter graciously offered us to choose something else from the menu and they'd nix the pasta off the bill. However, we opted to stay with the pasta - they nuked it in the microwave for a little and called it a day. Reservations are a must, preferably prior sunset so you can admire the view of the valley . Off of Silverado trail, This resort is slightly off the beaten path. During the Covid crisis its Michelin rated restaurant is closed but thankfully the patio Bistro remains open. This review was for a Sunday lunch. Valet parking only, they prob didn't want my Subaru bumping into one of those fancy Ferrari or Porsche. The rock scissor & paper statue at the entrance was interesting. Check-in was fast & friendly. We were quickly whisked outside onto the famous patio. It was smaller than I expected but the view was impressive nontheless. It reminds me of the view at Sterling Vineyards, minus the aerial tram experience. As long as you are mentally prepared for over priced & over-hyped dining you will find the experience more enjoyable. The staff were couteous & attentive. Plates & silverwares were frequently changed & waters refilled without any prompting. The melon soup with lobster was interesting & might not be for everyone. Imagine someone threw a few pieces of lobsters into your fruit smoothie. It was relatively light, not as creamy & heavy compared to other soups, fitting for July 4th weather. The Auberge burger was the star of the show. The beef patty was juicy, smokey & fluffy, sandwiched between perfectly made house french bread that were light & airy. It was one of the rare occasions when I did not contaminate my burger with any sauce. I slowly savored its intrinsic flavors with juices dribbling down my face. A piece of tomato & lettuce was all that was needed. The fries were okay. The campanelle pasta was a mixed experience. We loved the sauce, sausage, red peppers & sun dried tomatoes. The pasta itself was a bit too tough though, keep in mind we generally prefer al dente pasta. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience. I had lunch on the terrace as a party of 3, and wow what a great experience this was. It's such a beautiful view and was nice watching the fog lift and all the vibrant colors of the view below us appear. I started of with a cocktail called the Kentucky Tea, it had a bergamot sugar rim and somehow combined for me the experience of drinking tea in the morning with sipping a whiskey in the evening. My table shared the calamari. It was perfectly cooked, crispy and tender and packed with flavor, and a really generous amount. I got a yellow fin tuna salad with olives, egg, boquerones, radishes, and a garlic dressing. The fish was perfect, the boquerones were little flavor explosions, everything was fresh, and I had so much fun eating this salad. It was a flavor adventure and didn't get boring at any point. My family got the campanelle and grilled chicken sandwich, all of which were enjoyed, but I gave tastes of my salad and they agreed it was the winner. We were full, so we split a dessert with lemon and blackberries and little meringues, very light but once again a flavor party and the perfect ending alongside tea and coffee. My loose leaf tea was great, however my family thought the coffee was surprisingly lacking for an otherwise great place. read more

Very good service for the most part, other than our serve lacking in knowledge concerning dietary restrictions and being late to deliver drinks on the first ask. Coffee was decent, mimosa was lacking, but green tea was very good--steeped perfectly and hot. Food itself was quite good. They do have gluten free bread but not very many options for those who can't eat gluten. The smoked salmon tartine gluten and dairy free was not great--mostly just a heap of cold salmon on dry bread with lettuce. Others in my party enjoyed the charcuterie, leek soup, and breads. I got the seared tuna sandwich for my main and it was surprisingly tasty. Others enjoyed the burger a lot, and their salads were satisfactory. All around a very nice experience. read more

I had a wonderful experience here in November 2020 celebrating a friend's birthday, so I took my husband here this afternoon for a day date. I was excited for him to have a lovely time but our server wasn't attentive. Right from the start we felt that David just didn't like us. We didn't feel welcomed by him. We felt he took no time for us but watched him entertain other guest. We waited long for our orders and just became irritated. The food was great. Oysters were very tiny. Calamari was excellent. My husband had the steak and it melted in your mouth. I had the duck and it was good. I was planning on another lunch date here with my girlfriends but now I don't think I'll be returning. I had a horrible time at this establishment and I am appalled that such a high scale place would have such terrible service. My friends and I visited this restaurant on our recent trip up to Napa. With Covid they only had this restaurant open with patio seating only. Their Michelin star restaurant was closed. I've always wanted to check this place out and have wanted to stay here for our Napa trips in the past but couldn't cough up $1000+/night without having any idea of how the hotel/resort was. I figured starting off with dining was a good start, esp when the facility has a Michelin star restaurant. But to my surprise the service was horrible and I would never come back here again. First off, the food was just ok. Since it's called the Bistro it was your typical casual dining kinda place. They had appetizers, salad, pizza, burger, fish, steak, chicken dishes etc. The best thing we had was their calamari. My pizza was rather basic & expensive. My husband's burger was actually pretty good. The beef was very juicy. My friends thought their quiche & salmon was average at best. The problem with the service starts with them bringing out their corn soup when we did not order it. The waitress was implying we ordered it which we did not. Then she went to say that we can try it & we said its ok and for her to take it back. But she insisted and had said she will take it off the tab. So we were like ok then we will try it. And of course when the tab came we were charged for it. We asked her to take it off and she was hesitant and asked if we did not like it. It's not a matter of whether not we liked it. We never ordered it and we asked you to take it back. I have never been to a restaurant where we had to pay for something we didn't order. Usually they will leave it on the table for us to try and NOT CHARGE us or they will take it back! It's ridiculous!!! What was more ridiculous was that she said she had to ask her manager to take it off the tab bc she had already run our credit card. And then the manager came out and questioned us. WTF. He had a demeaning tone as if we were trying to con them out of corn soup. We left feeling rather disappointed and just shocked at the whole situation. Also there was a bee that literally swarmed our table. It sat on multiple of our dishes and wouldn't leave us alone. I didn't even eat my dinner bc I was so stressed out from the bee as I have had many horrible experiences from bee stings. The waitress saw this and she did not offer to move us. She said she can bring a candle and that that sometimes helps which we said yes to. BUT she never brought it out. I just wanted dinner to end for us to leave ASAP. And of course the charge for the soup and fixing the tab took forever. I will never be going back here again. read more

After a day of enjoying Napa, my friends and I were ready to enjoy dinner at Auberge Bistro and Bar with their well renowned breathtaking views and the sun set. However, the views were not enough to save us from the service afterwards. The menu is limited but decent enough to choose a few items to enjoy for a casual dining experience. However, as many have said, the menu is not cheap! Granted with the high price, you expect a certain level of service which was not there at all. For some reason, the waitress had mistaken that we ordered the corn soup for an appetizer. While the corn soup was absolutely fine, it was not something that we ordered or would have paid for. After clarifying that we did not order the corn soup, she had let us know that we would not be charged. When we get the check, the corn soup shows up on the bill! Another incident was a pesky bee that kept swarming around our table for some reason. Given that there is only patio dining available, the waitress offered to bring a citronella candle. Not only does she not follow-up, the bee stays around till we pack up our food to leave before getting a chance to see the sun set. Parking is valet at the hotel. Customer service as mentioned before was questionable especially for an establishment like this. Overall, Auberge Bistro and Bar is expensive bar food with a good view but without the customer service to justify its high cost of dining there. read more

I chose to walk out of here due to being ignored by management and our server. My guy and I had a noon tasting at Caymus (2nd weekend open after the virus lockdown) but were more than ready to have a bite and some refreshing cocktails afterwards. I'd been here before and have had nothing but pleasant experiences. So I planned on repeating that. The valet guys were a solid five stars which gave us the illusion of paralleled enthusiasm inside. They greeted us with smiles behind masks, kindly opened our doors and stored our new cases of wine before parking the car. Sadly the experience inside, paled in comparison. Walk-ins were only permitted to sit indoors which was fine. I'd been here multiple times with groups usually seated outside. The interiors are adorned with muted, soft greens and beiges and a series of windows exposing the picturesque landscape outside. It's a shame the service doesn't correlate with the serene atmosphere. Our table was adjacent to another couple closing their tab. Our server skipped over us the entire time serving a bottle to a large group at an adjacent table and then MIA. A runner delivered refreshing iced lemon waters, green & black olives and delicious Marcona almonds. The experience seemed like it would go well after the offerings were served. We looked the menu over and decided on the fried calamari, swordfish sandwich, a side order of the mushrooms and a couple enticing cocktails. We waited and waited though. A couple managers walked by us seating another couple outside and returned through the interior dining area. At 20 minutes, I gave them five more with low expectations. Unfortunately, that was five more wasted minutes, and we perambulated out the door. No one batted an eye. We were quite amused at the blatant display of nonchalance. The valet team was great, though. They brought the car back with our wine and sent us off with a warm salutation . Too bad the experience inside was nothing like the hostess or valet. I'll be passing this place up in the future. No need to waste time driving up the windy road only to be met with lackadaisical attitudes and service. Let me start off by saying that this is not a cheap lunch spot BUT you do get the gorgeous view of Napa if you get seated at the patio. Complimentary valet parking upon arrival because heck, the parking lot is pretty small. The Bistro & Bar is to the right when you enter; the other side is the restaurant where they proudly display their Michelin star plague at the door. First come, first serve, no reservations necessary. If there isn't open seating at the patio yet, you can request to sit inside first and wait until a party leaves. Our party of 3 had the following: duck confit flautas, smoked salmon, wings, brussels sprouts, and chips and salsas. Food was on point - pricey but very delicious. I also had two glasses of wine, their own Chardonnay and Syrah (if I remembered correctly). Both were decent. One gripe about sitting outside is that flies kept landing in my wine! I had to switch out both wines because I'd find little creatures swimming around as soon as I set my glass down. It's a great place to sit down and relax when you're in the area for winery hopping and if you feel like splurging, hop on over to the other side to dine at the restaurant. Both were pretty tasty. Ahi tuna came with 2 pcs of grilled brioche. Had a glass of Carneros white wine and sparkling water with lime to go with lunch and lovey had ice tea. This was a great spot our crew found 10 years ago. And surprisingly this is still on our list today. If u want a quick get away or even just for a day from the bay, this is perfect to go with the dh or the crew. I was in college the first time i went and enjoyed the experience. Although the food quality changed perhaps my palate changed throughout the years, I would continue to go back with or without the crew lol Will always be a fan of ahi tuna, duck mousse, rack of lamb, bone marrow plus quietness of this place brings. read more

This is my go to place to take folks from out of town because of the beautiful view, great food and attentive service. Honestly, with that view, can't really go wrong! This time it was just us, no out of town guests, but yup the view is still a axing, the seafood platter is yummy, service is still excellent! I also love the fried Monterey calamari and the cocktails are amazing as always. First come first serve at the bistro, but I already booked to go to the restaurant next door (1 Michelin star) that offers a great pre-fixe lunch menu for $80 a person and included a signature cocktail. Came here for dinner without reservation on a Saturday night and managed to get a table outside. It wasnt crowded at all so the atmosphere was awesome. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. My favorite was the duck foie pate which was generous in portion and the pate was thick, smooth and creamy. So good. The steamed manilla clams were deliciously sweet, and the pork belly and lime definitely added a twist on the flavor. I enjoyed the bone marrow as well, though the asparagus soup was very asparagus-y. We also ordered a side of prosciutto to share and the portions were just right for 2 people.
