Ok so this review is really tricky. The food tasted really good with clever and unique recipe bowls and the workers are very friendly. So you may be wondering why I only rated it two stars with good tasting food and good service? The answer is, every time I eat here I feel really sick to my stomach and it always ruins my whole day/evening. Initially I assumed it was something wrong with me. It couldn't be Aubergine. Right? They serve ultra healthy food right? Perhaps my body was somehow just not used to this high level of "healthy food?" As it turns out... After months of cleanse diets and healthy eating at home, I can safely say it's not me and it is in fact Aubergine. I got sick the last time I tried this place and I even gave it multiple chances to get used to their unique food. Each time was the same awful stomach pain result. That means I've gotten sick or severe stomach pains 5/5 times I've eaten here. It further turns out it's not just me. I have discovered four other friends who confessed similar gut wrenching pain after eating here. I'm afraid I can only speculate as to why it causes all our guts to implode? Perhaps my body doesn't like the amount of fiber in some dishes? Or perhaps I have an unknown allergy to something in them? The CEO contacted me and it sounds like they are extremely fastidious at avoiding cross contamination and maintaining proper temperatures. In fact, this sounds like it's one of their guiding principals. Their food appears fresh and unspoiled and the restaurant looks ultra clean. Perhaps they are soaking their vegetables in a mild vinegar bath to clean them? And perhaps that's what's agitating me? I dunno. Whatever the reason there's a small handful of us that physically have trouble digesting this food. So now you may be wondering why I gave three stars instead of one? After all if a place makes you sick isn't that a zero star? Well, I'm assuming there must be many people out there with cast iron digestion capable of tolerating this food without gut wrenching pain, nausea, and bloating. There must be many. Those of us with resultant stomach pain must be an anomaly. So if you digest it just fine and love Aubergine, please don't take offense at my three star review. However, if some evening you find yourself running to the bathroom with gut wrenching pain, it might be worth noting if you visited Aubergine that day. So I'm giving it three stars assuming maybe 60-70% of the population can enjoy their unique tasty dishes without feeling ill. As for me, I'm afraid I can't go back. If you love food you tend to want to broaden your horizons often. The decision to dine here was originally made in that spirit. Our first trip was for breakfast on a Saturday morning. The hipster trend nowadays seems to be acai bowls. We paid $10+ for a smoothie in a bowl with some granola. I'm not sure what makes A&C's acai bowl special as it had one note and that note was acid. My wife liked it but I couldn't understand what makes a smoothie in a bowl worth the money spent. Anything that I can make at home that tastes better, for less money and minimal effort makes a meal at a restaurant not worth it. The environment isn't anything special but it was clean, so points to them for keeping up their place. The high ceilings do make it noisy when it's busy. The staff was fine so no issues there. The second time dining here was made on the decision that my wife wanted to have another acai bowl. I knew that wasn't for me but I also knew that A&C had savory food as well so I decided to branch out again. This is where a bad first experience was made worse. I ordered a baked falafel pita. The employee started to point to the components that made up the pita. The only one that looked remotely appetizing was the hummus. The baba ganoush (blended eggplant and tahini) was grey... So I decided on hummus. I'm not a fan of fresh tomatoes (childhood thing) so I passed on the tabouli. They had the "aubergine salad" which was a mixture of overcooked vegetables that looked like they had been sitting for a while. So my pita consisted of the pita, hummus, red cabbage, and grilled onions. They didn't have any falafel ready so they asked if a 5-7 min wait for the falafel to cook would be fine, I said yes. 15 minutes later, my food arrives. The amount of disappointment was overwhelming. The falafel was flavorless. I don't mean that it tasted bad. I mean that it was absolutely flavorless. The hummus is actually pretty good. The grilled onions were overcooked and red cabbage was fine. They give you a side of tahini as a sauce which is the only thing that saved me from having cottonmouth because this thing was dry as dry can be. Since it took double the amount of time to get my food and we had another place to be, I wasn't able to return my food or ask for something else, so I decided to just not eat it. I fully understand wanting to have a "healthy option" for food. It's rare to find a place that makes healthy options that taste good. both of my experiences at Aubergine & Company have proved that they aren't one of those places. 2 stars for cleanliness and good staff. read more

Don't add bread to the trays without telling your customers it has cheese in it! Our entire order was plant based, the restaurant seems to pride themselves on their gluten free and dairy free options. They added a little piece of bread to each order and we thought for sure they wouldn't have added something with dairy or gluten without advising/asking if we want it. This place was amazing!! We got bowls that were so fresh and tasty. They have so many components to choose from. The turmeric rice was so flavorful and they don't skimp on portions. I loved my bowl with the rice, chicken, roasted broccoli and cauliflower, red cabbage slaw, sautéed onions, and tahini. Their cheese bread puffs are so good too! We also tried their nice cream for dessert, which is made mainly from cashews and coconut milk. Super creamy and satisfying. I got the Brownie Nice Cream Cup, and one of the best part was the coconut whipped cream on top! Prices were very reasonable too. This is somewhere I think I could eat every day. Not sure if there is management of this location, but my assumption would say no. The food was a total fail, the service was a total fail and the place was a mess. I tried ordering a pita. Had to wait about 3 minutes for them to grab a pita from the back. I'm assuming it was one from the throw away pile, it was not edible and hard as a rock. It broke a part like a chip. I asked if I could customize my pita toppings, the person helped me had to go ask someone if I was allowed to substitute toppings...... all I wanted was no lettuce. I got steak which was their most expensive option. It was black and tough as jerky. Once again. Not edible. Threw my entire plate away. Also the place was a mess. Trash can overflowing. The first 2 high chairs I grabbed had sauce and tomatoes on them. Went to the restroom and the electric room was on full display. I'm actually really sad to say this, but I won't be buying from them anymore. I ordered on their app and my order was listed as "curbside pickup." I even listed my car make and model. Because I was under the assumption it would be curbside pickup I drove over in my underwear after working out. I know, I know. But I didn't think I'd have to get out. When I pulled up there was no curbside pickup. I called them FIVE TIMES and could see the employees inside not busy at all and NO ONE answered the phone. Five times. I had no choice but to walk inside in my underwear ‍‍‍ just to get my stupid salad. After all of that work, the avocado on my salad was DISGUSTING. It was brown and overripe. I paid extra for that. Randomly tried this through DoorDash and I was actually quite pleased. Got the curry bowl and sweet potatoes. Everything was really tasty. The curry is listed as "spicy", but to me it wasn't spicy at all. However, it the flavor was good so I wasn't mad about it. A bit more expensive than I'm accustomed to paying for a meal but the quality makes up for it. Great place to get a quick meal that's on the healthier side and that tastes good. read more

I'm glad I finally tried this place, but the other reviews are honest. I had the chicken almond rice bowl, which was tasty and filling. The sweet potato's were too salty and, as many have commented, the dressing is not necessary. However, I lowered a star for two main reasons. People have mentioned the inattentive not very kind staff and I agree. If you are there to grab and go, it works but it's not a great way to run business. Also, this location does not have cold pressed juices, only lemonades and a few smoothies. Even though juice is in the main description. I'd love to see this company establish deeper roots in the healthy fast casual world. Juices at every location. Organic ingredients. Ingredient lists available. Calorie counts. This is probably the best healthy and yummy food I have tasted outside of my own kitchen. And far surpasses any healthy fast food. The flavors of my Thai bowl were amazing! Meal type items range in price e from $7 to $12. I love not having to worry how many calories I am eating because I know each bite has the nutrients I need. The dressings are homemade with healthy ingredients. I will be telling all of my healthy foodie friends about Aubergine Company. You guys rock. I've never been happy with the service at this location. They seem like they don't want to help you or we are inconveniencing them by giving them business. I did an online order today and finished the order at 9:13am. The order said it would be ready at 9:43am. I thought 30 minutes for an açaí bowl was a little extreme, but I waited. Once I got to the restaurant, there were no customers there. I go up to the front to pick up my order, the girl goes to the back and comes out with another employee. They tell me the order "just showed up in their system" and they'll start working on it right now. I proceeded to wait another 15 minutes and they brought out my food. I used to come here often for lunch. Not sure I'll be coming back since they've drastically increased their tri trip/chicken platter. Now, you can only get one meat and if you want the other(as the combo before), you'll have to pay an additional $4.25. Let me get this right: You've reduced the meat portion in half. Kept the price the same. To get what used to be 11.99 is now 17.50, when you add the meat portion that is now left out. I get a small increase, but that's a ridiculous leap. That's a huge fraction for just 2-3 oz? Go to core life and get a double protein bowl for 11.99. Bottom line, don't take advantage of your customers. This place feels like a trip to Europe or something! I don't leave here with regrets, like some places. Their chia coconut pudding tastes like my fresh new replacement for ice-cream. I'm serious! I came here at 11:30am on a Friday for a greek salad to go. I've had it at the Aubergine in Orem and really liked it. This time, the lady gave me brown lettuce, and the dressing that came with the salad was frozen (how does that happen?) and my second choice for dressing was frozen, too. I settled for a dressing that I really didn't like. I also got the butternut squash soup, which I ate one spoonful of and then threw away; it wasn't sweet at all, which is what I was expecting (hoping for). I love Aubergine's food, but their service is the worst I have ever experienced!! I've been to the Lehi location 4 times and they have gotten my order wrong every. single. time. Waiting 30 minutes for the wrong food is incredibly frustrating, especially when you're paying $20 for it and just spent your entire lunch break waiting for something you didn't even order. The majority of employees at this location are rude, don't listen to your requests or substitutions (or just don't care enough to follow through on them), and I've even seen food from the bins being snacked on while my order was being made. To make things worse, they've now changed the restaurant setup so you order at the register and don't "walk the line" with the person making your food, so you can't even correct them when they inevitably mess up your order. I don't know if it's a lack of training or that the employees just don't care/don't want to be there, but it's disappointing, I used to love Aubergine. read more

I cant be totally off in expecting a business that "opens" to be ready to prepare and serve my food in a reasonable time? I'll be finding a different place for my regular breakfast and lunch stops from here on out. 2 stars sorely for customer service and ultimately poor management. 5 stars for quality and taste of food. I have been to multiple locations of Aubergine and this one surprises me every time when I arrive and it's empty, all the others are consistently busy! I live down the road from this one so I have been able to regularly visit and see the consistent problems. There is no effort made by any of the staff to make the customers their priority. The staff will be on their phones with their gloves on while I'm in line and between making food. They will have entire conversations while I am the only person in line waiting for my food ie laughing, stopping to emphasize etc while my food takes double the time it should to make. There hasn't been a morning where I come in and they are not prepared to be open, either with no staff to service the customers in the building or the food is not prepped. Why open your business if you're not ready? This location will continue to struggle if management doesn't focus on their employee's customer service skills. read more

I was hopeful as this place has a menu that is truly appealing to anyone who wants a healthy meal. They also have really good reviews on Yelp. Sadly, they disappointed. I ordered the Mediterranean Salad and Tomato Basil Soup. My salad was loaded with spinach, which I did not order. What if I'm allergic to spinach? My soup was some sort of chicken soup with veggies. I did not order this. Ordered tomato basil soup. What if I'm vegetarian??? Both of these mistakes are major fails in my opinion. The restaurant was NOT busy when I went in. My order was the only one being prepared as far as I could tell. If I wasn't exhausted from a day of travel, I would have gone back to have them correct the mistakes. I did send them a message via email, and received no response. Again, I had high hopes, but they just couldn't get the order right. UPDATE: I received a response from the manager on the following morning. Unfortunately, I was flying out that afternoon so there really wasn't anything that could be done...other than maybe refunding the cost. This was not offered. We came during lunch time on a Wednesday. There were a couple of people ahead of us and a steady stream of people after us. It wasn't super packed like next door's SLAB pizza, and everyone who wanted to eat-in could find a seat. My order was taken by a new guy. Based on what I received, I'd say their training program could use a little work. I asked for a half pita, but he was so worried about getting the ingredients-order correct that I ended up paying for a whole. The food was good, similar to other times I've been to this location and the one in Orem. I love their baked falafel (not too salty and still crispy) pitas and their sweet potato bites. It was the hub's first time and he got baked falafel as well. We both loved the new cheese bread they have which is a Brazilian cheese bread variety. I may have to go back and order a whole dozen of them. We also got the chicken on cheese bread kids meal thing.
