Tried Aubergine for the first time today. Went out of our way for it as my wife was real excited to try it because of her gluten intolerance. I got the Vitality bowl and she got the Chicken bites and Sweet Potato bites. Lots of gluten free and dairy free options to choose from. Felt a lot like dining inside Zupas, as far as "feel" goes. Vitality bowl was good, but not "wow, that's amazing" good. While there is a jalapeño dressing on the side, (which I did not open as I'm not a fan) there is nothing in the description that notes jalapeño in the bowl itself. But it was pretty obvious that what appeared to be the roasted brussels sprouts (not sure) were very jalapeño spicy and it filtered through the rest of the bowl. An over abundance of kale but most everything else was palatable. While the included meat was supposed to be chicken, there were also beef/steak chunks in the bowl. Someone may need to slow down and do a better job of putting the bowl together? The chicken was tasty, albeit a little dry. The potato chunks were very good. The cauliflower rice was different but good. My wife enjoyed her chicken bites and the sweet potato bites, but agreed with me that it was not fabulous. Not necessarily a place we will go out of our way for in the future. But others may find it "new and exciting". read more

I absolutely love this place!! I have tried many things and they all have been good including the breakfast items. My absolute go to is the harvest bowl and the avocado toast with a balsamic drizzle is great. The ambiance in the restaurant is calming and clean. The staff is polite and kind. They do a good job at serving you. I would eat here everyday if I could. read more

Calked in an order for $150 worth of food. Picked up the order and got to my destination with the order only to find half of the order missing. Returned to the restaurant 30 minutes later to get the missing order. The manager handed me a bag of food, now cold that they forgot to give me. Double checked the order and it was still missing items. I had to request the sandwiches be remade hot. No offer to refund the order or even part of the order. Manager seemed annoyed that I wasn't satisfied with their service. read more

I popped in on my way to Kanab. I had the Coconut Curry Rice Bowl and ordered the Avocado Cashew Melt to go. The bowl was well-seasoned and I loved the lemon kale. Absolutely delicious. Super disappointed today. I usually order just a single meal (or two), but today I wanted some of those amazing Baked Potato Bits as a bonus appetizer. When the appetizer came out it was NOT Baked Potato Bits. I asked the server why the potatoes are now breaded and fried not baked. She said this is the way they are. I said are you sure, they don't look like potatoes, she said they might be a little overdone, but they are correct. Well, one bite in, I realized I had Chicken Bits, NOT Potatoes Bits. When the food came out I addressed this with the server and she said, oh my gosh you did ask that, I am brand new, let me go take care of that. She went back and came back with the receipt. Well, it was the person who took my order who put Chicken Bits and not Potatoes Bits. Long story, try to make it shorter, the owner would not do anything about making a correction to all this, she did not come visit the table, and did not want to offer so much as a conversation with me. The server just said, "the owner said she doesn't want to fix anything, I hope you like Chicken Bits". (overdone Chicken Bits to say the least) This is small, it is silly, I would have had no problem moving on from this mistake, but not even a visit to the table for a conversation. Seems not matter who, even owners, service keeps going downhill. Even at your favorite places to eat. I really love this place, been coming back since opening day in St. George. Crazy sad to see this level of care and concern. P.S. The ordering system changed so you no longer get to see your food being made, easier to mess things up, including some language barriers with staff. read more

I'm giving this place 3 stars based on its POTENTIAL, how much I wanted to like it and the little cheesy rolls which I loved. The restaurant itself looks modern and inviting. My second visit here - slightly different menu and way to order - convenient for them, but I found it frustrating. I ordered the berry salad which said it came with mango dressing. What I got was the berry salad tossed with jalapeño dressing. My lunch mates were not all served for 15 minutes. I tasted mine - it was terrible tasting and chopped so fine that it was soggy. Maybe it's just me because the place was quite busy - and chaotic. Is their system of ordering/serving the source of their struggle? So sad! We need healthier restaurants in southern Utah but they have to do better than this. read more

This place is meh... surprisingly this place tasted better when it first opened. Usually it's the other way around in this town. They really need to work on how to order like they had the original setup when they first opened. You could definitely tell that the employees was getting tired of telling the customers "you need to walk down there to place your order" If this place was setup like a cafe rio, it would run much smoother, only this is backwards! The first time I had it, it was good, although expensive. Downhill on flavor the next time. The 3rd time they gave me a half portion because they didn't want to make more squash and argued with me that it was a full order ($14 for a skiff in the bottom) Today, they didn't acknowledge me while I waited to order. My wife has been vegan much longer than I've known her...over 30 years. We had enjoyed Aubergine Kitchen previously. Walked in to the St George location a few days ago. Menu boards are gone...replaced by a sheet of paper with the code to pull up the menu on a phone. Some of us have reached the age where we can't even read the menu on a phone. They have such good flavor combinations. The chicken is cooked thoroughly and the salads always have plenty of toppings.
