I really really love aubergine. I can't have gluten or dairy and I was so excited that they came to Saint George because GF/DF options are limited here. It's pricey, but worth it, unless you are getting it to go. When I eat in the restaurant I can barely finish my meal, but I've ordered out a few times now and it seems to be literally half the size when it's in a to go container. I paid $20 for a bowl and a small nice cream dessert and I don't even know if I'll be full Please fix your to go portions! First of all, I would give it a 1 but the service was good and the restaurant was nice. I ordered this macaroni and cheese and it was the worst tasting cheese I ever had. I also ordered the chicken bites and they were tough and cold in the middle. Overall it was a bad experience and the food was horrible. Avoid this restaurant like the plague. read more

I keep giving Aubergine kitchen a chance, since we really need this style of food in St. George. First few times were great but it's has progressively become worse since opening. I have had had many instances where my order was off but nothing as bad as today. Today, I experienced their new system of ordering and my to go make your own bowl was completely wrong. Sadly I did not realize until I got home. It's disappointing to spend almost $20 on a salad to not even get salad dressing on it. I also ordered and paid for extra kale and there's barely any kale in the bowl, it's more of a garnish. There's also a Spicy eggplant side on my bowl, which I did not ask for and can not eat due to dietary restrictions. Do better Aubergine! You are capable of being a great establishment if you just give your customers what they ask for and step up your customer service. read more

The food is 5 stars but the service has become useless and it is getting worse. When they first started out I figured the mixups were because of new staff. They have now been open long enough to work the kinks out but it is getting worse. There were four in our party. I got my Thai Bowl right away. The other three ordered vegetarian Mac and cheese and one avocado melt. I finished my bowl and the other three in our party waited. They tried delivering a child's Mac and cheese once after that but we refused taking that as we had not ordered it. One of our party made three trips to the counter to find out what the problem was to no avail. People sitting around us were also getting tired of waiting and upset that their orders were not being filled. We sat there as more customers entered and they all jammed up just inside the door. The mens restroom was locked with no response from inside so men were using the women's restroom. Finally the V Mac and cheese was delivered we had to return to the counter to find the avocado melt and it was not worth eating, as it was just two small slices of hard unripe avocado and some white creamy dressing in a pita. When we left we were taking out bowl trays and utensils to the secondary exit as the main entrance was packed with all the customers but there was no place to put our eating gear so it forced us through the crowded main entrance people. Guess what? There was no room to put down anything. Everything overflowed. Our whole family are Whole Food Plant Based for health reasons and we need someplace to go out and eat once in a while but it's not going to be this place until they can get their ducks in a row. read more

Just tried this restaurant for the first time and was very impressed. I wasn't sure what to get. Wanting to improve the odds of getting something good and, expecting to be disappointed as I usually am when trying a new restaurant, I ordered both a baked chicken nugget-type meal and one of their steak sandwiches. The chicken was terrific, even without the dip that came with it, and the steak sandwich pretty much astounded me. It had the slightest bit of spicy heat (maybe from freshly ground pepper and/or the red peppers that it came with) but the balance of meat, cheese, and other ingredients was perfect, making it the best steak sandwich I've had in St. George in the 8 years I've lived here. Costs more than most standard fast food but was well worth the price. I look forward to going back again soon. read more

The chicken was finely cut and served on the side, and it was so desiccated that I had to assume that it had sat out for hours to get that dry. New place, new inexperienced staff. I love the idea of GF, DF, and vegan fast food as I have recently been put on an anti-inflammatory diet. I do love the food, and have never had an issue...until today. I picked up my salad to go (ordered online ahead), and it was missing several toppings, as well as the avocado being half rotten. However, I would have been willing to overlook that since it was the first time, but their service EVERY time is lacking. Most employees are brusque bordering on rude, and today when I went to pick up my to-go order (why aren't you using the pick-up shelf that's clearly installed for that purpose?), I waited right by the out-going for more than 10 minutes without acknowledgement, even though the guy in front of me had just been helped with his pick-up order (this is the 3rd time this has happened to me). I finally butted in behind someone paying for their order to tell them I'd been waiting for my pick-up order. First off, I wanna start by saying that I am a HUGE Aubergine kitchen fan! The one star is for this location only. Unsanitary! Everybody had filthy disgusting aprons on and the girl taking orders was separating the to-go bowls by holding them on her apron that looked as if it had never been washed. Employees going in all different directions nobody put on a single task to handle, food getting tossed in all directions. I saw two different employees texting while dishing the food people had ordered. One even on her cell phone with her gloves on and then bagging cheese balls with same gloves. Little fact: cell phones can harbor more bacteria than the average toilet seat Very chaotic and no rhyme or reason to the way things are supposed to be functioning in the kitchen and order line. There are pluses for this place. There are more selections of healthier food choices than most fast food restaurants. And most of the fresh food choices are pretty good. It's order at the counter so coming with a mixed group of friends makes seating and paying individual checks easy and there's no need to hurry you can hang out and enjoy a good visit. The minuses are, the food is all sitting out in pre-made bins and they just put it on your plate as ordered. No knowing how long it has sat out. First time we came we enjoyed the food. The second time we came we ordered the Chicken Caprese Melt in pita bread. The pita bread was so stale it had that "white" dusty exterior with cracks on the edges and you could tap it on the table it was so hard. The interior was fresh and good, but who makes sandwiches with stale pita that needs to be thrown away? People who do not care about the customer or food quality. The falafel patties are supper thin, dry and tasteless, be warned. This place is a mixed bag. It could be awesome one day and not so good the next. It is worth checking it out and giving it a try, just to calibrate it for your own likes and nutrition choices. read more
