UPDATE: 10/15 Now they can really hook up a Pedicure!!! This lady is taking her sweet time on my feet and I have no complaints!! I may not love their nails but I have def found my new Pedi place! Loved her!!! (First Review) This is the place I've been to a couple of times when I had a nail emergency (broken nail) and my nail tech was booked. I hadn't been back in a long time due to the last time I went they paired me with an elderly lady that clearly needed to retire. She had my nails crooked and polish everywhere to the point the owner had to step in and start all the way over. I was in this place for 2 hours that day and they still charged me! So I vowed to never come back. Well another nail emergency with only so much time to spare brought me back here. I want to say the owner is SO NICE and her employees should take notes! She always greets you with a smile and pleasant convo. and tries to get you taken care of asap. The lady I got today was very quiet at first and snatching my hand & releasing it into the air randomly (I hate when they do that) and started to pull the "oh who did your nails last because they're wrong" crap and than proceeded to speak about it in her language...( another thing I can't stand)... Like this is not how you gain business by bashing someone else's work that is 2 weeks old ... she started to lighten up a little towards the end of the service and the nails turned out cool. I wish they had a tv going like most salons. It helps avoid these awkward silent moments . like I had to look randomly around the room for almost an hour since she didn't speak , only to realize towards the end that she actually did know english so it only made me wonder why she was so stand offish . 1 star is the min, 2 stars because the women were quite friendly. Besides the happy staff, there wasn't anything I liked about this place. I got a mani-pedi, which I didn't know was only $35 until after the service was done. After the manicure, I am still left with uneven nails, no cuticle care at all, leftover clear polish from a month ago, no new polish, and skin that should have been clipped away. After the pedicure... which, to be fair, I am picky about in the first place... I had to go home and even my nails out, spot paint (thank god I picked a color there that I had at home), pull the corners of every single nail out so they didn't get ingrown, and put neosporin on 3 of my toes where she cut too deep around the edges. My go-to nail salon! I've been to a dozen and haven't really been set on going to just one.... Until now. They have good service and are usually always welcoming. They are pretty quick to sit you down when you just go as a walk-in. They are pretty busy 12pm-5pm ish usually on weekends. I like to go early morning bc there's normally not too many people. I've never had any issues with my nails. I only get acrylic there. They have tons of returning customers. First time at this salon and I wasn't impressed. When I walked in there was no one there as it was the middle of the day on Wednesday. The first lady who started working on my nails could not understand what I was asking her to do. She was squaring my nails off too much and I like it between a square and an oval. Another lady took over the job. She wasn't much better. My nails don't look at all alike from hand to hand and the polish is uneven. The sad part is the second lady knew it was my first time in there. One would think that you would do the best job possible in order to have clients come back. Tried this place out for a pedicure for the first time and I am never going there again. The woman gave me an ingrown toenail which got infected the following day. My polish was completely ruined when I tried to remove it. The polish wasn't put on well in the first place as I could see uneven colors. Customer service is definitely four stars . We were referred here by an employee of a local business. When I walked in I noticed it was very busy with people waiting. The building and salon equipment is very old and could use updating. I saw they were using a sanitizer which is very important to sanitize the nail implements. I'm an esthetician so that is one of the first things I look at. However, they don't use liners in their pedicure bowls . I watched them put a solution in and clean the foot scraper and exfoliating block. She then wiped down the foot bath immediately after. My concern is most health Dept approved disinfectants take 10 minutes on the surface to be effective and truly disinfect. That's why I think all nail places should make the expense of the disposable liners, for the health and safety of their clients. My nail tech was nice. However, she seemed so tired, especially during the massage. I was disappointed with the Massage I got. The nail salon looked fairly clean. I know with such a high client turnover it's hard to keep up on the daily tidying. Again, all the employees are very sweet. Unfortunately, I won't be back. For a $25 spa pedicure I'd like to have a hot towel on my legs or a hot stone, especially in Auburn. Or charge a few dollars more and add a basin liner and hot stone. read more

UPDATE: Do NOT let a woman named Ly give you a manicure. this is the 2nd time I've been here. the first time I got a nice pedicure. today I wanted a mani. yes it was 2pm on a Saturday and they were busy but they had an opening when I walked in so I got it right away. I was at station 5 and the lady doing my mani was LY. Within 3 minutes I already knew I wasn't going to tip. she was the most unfriendly employee ever. I sat down and tried to make chit chat. She refused to even acknowledge me. She was texting on her phone and said "what you want today?" I said regular Mani. she got a bowl of soapy water, put it in front of me, and made a grunting noise and motioned for me to put my hands in. As I sat there I said "busy day today huh?" she literally stone wall ignored me. she was texting on her phone. then she put the phone down and yawned and leaned back in her chair crossing her arms. she sat there sighing for a few minutes. then she performed the quickest sloppiest manicure of all time. she only filed a couple of my nails, leaving them totally uneven. she left a lot of dry dead cuticle skin. her polish job was streaky and uneven. you could tell she did not want to be there. I may go back, but will not be having LY perform any services on me. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I got a pedi here and I thought the gal did a great job. Pros: The nail shape and length is clean and natural. I picked a neon pink color for summer and the coverage is even and opaque. I like that she followed the natural shape of the nail and didn't cut them too short. She did a good foot and leg massage as well. Cons: she used a mini scrubber brush over my toes and tops of my feet that was way too harsh and scratchy. I do not have any dead skin or calluses especially on the tops of my toes. also, after she scrubbed my legs she sprayed perfume on them. yes, alcohol on raw scrubbed skin! overall I will probably come back again. it was quick and well done. $25 for spa pedI read more

I just got an overlay done with a lady there. She was distracted on the phone while filing under the nail with the electric tool and CUT me under my nail. She then tried to spray underneath my nail with alcohol! Because of that I was unable to complete my service with a polish. She still charged me full price even though it was HER fault and I wasn't able to receive the full service! I left with my nails unpolished and a paper towel wrapped around my finger to soak up the blood! I am VERY unhappy with the service today!!!! I've never had a "go-to" nail salon - I usually bounce around from place to place based on location, price, customer service, etc. However, I keep coming back to Auburn Nails because I've had a handful of appointments and a handful of nothing but positive experiences. The owner is SO sweet and is so good about welcoming you, getting you sat and worked on right away. My nails turn out beautiful every time (I usually get dip powder on my natural nails... nothing too fancy but pretty nonetheless). They are busy every time I go in, no matter what day of the week or time of day, so I'd recommend calling and making an appointment but they do welcome walk-ins! My fiancé and I had pedicures here and they were nice, but nothing to write home about. We've been to plenty of other places that charge $25 and do more massage including hot stones. Auburn nails did none of this. My fiancé had a nice massage but the lady doing mine felt like she was bruising my shins. It hurt! Cute paint job though and good service otherwise. I don't even know where to begin. Worst pedicure experience I have ever had in my life. When she put the "scrub" on my legs it honestly felt like she was rubbing broken glass all over my legs. When I asked her what scrub they used, she said they make it and it is "oil and SEA SALT"! I shaved my legs before my pedi, as most women do and it burned like fire/acid! I was super excited to come here after reading the reviews, and I was less than impressed. My sister and I both received gel pedicures. On mine, the lady messed up every single toe. She didn't remove the bottom of the UV lamp, and every toe was scuffed as she tried shoving my foot into the light as if they were hands not feet. So someone else came to fix it, but that was after she tried to tell me it was ok. The lady that did my sister toes, she cut her three times and to the point she bled. And it wasn't as if she had talons. She cut her on the corner of her toes. The following day, the polish just peeled off her toes. She went back and they fixed it, but that's beside the point. You're paying $45 for a GEL pedicure, it should last longer than 24 hours. The staff seemed incredibly rushed and doing a good job didn't matter--just needed the next client in the chair. I believe the owner was there, and she was incredibly nice. But overall, it was not a good experience. I would not recommend. read more

Went here the other day with no appointment and only had to wait about 10 minutes. I just wanted them to remove my acrylic nails and paint over my real ones. Had to soak them in acetone for a while which is normal. Three different women worked on me. Granted, it was really busy being a Friday afternoon. I guess whoever was free for a minute would go and sand down some acrylic off my nails every 20 minutes or so. I believe the owner is the one that finished me off and painted my nails. Sloppy, messy work with cuticle droppings on my lap from using my lap as part of her workstation. As if that wasn't enough, I was very specific with my request not to use a harsh file to smooth the top of my already thin natural nails and she used the electronic file machine anyway. I went in there to get my powder nails removed and I'm not sure what went wrong but they were in such a hurry they filed all the way down to my nail bed. It's been three months and my nail bed is still damaged. I left with my nail splitting and so so SO damaged. The manicure wasn't even good.
