On a dark desert highway, cool wind in your hair, warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air. Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light. My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim, I had to stop for a bite. I really had my heart set on breakfast so I had their amazing cinnamon roll to start. It looks larger than any two people should eat but it was so good and went so well with their fresh black coffee in a bottomless mug that I polished that off then had one of the best burgers ever. I have got to come back for breakfast one day. Don't be afraid of the way it looks, the people inside, customers and workers, are friendly and sincere. And, you can check out anytime you like.

Classic advertising coffee cups. Love it!

This place just keeps it going. It might be a tight squeeze to get to the bathroom or find a seat among the 18 seats available but the great breakfast and lunches just keep on coming. You can not come here without trying the scratch made whole wheat bread or the cinnamon rolls! The service and the community at this place is incredible, then you get the food. Wow! Don't be fooled by it's tiny building and obscure location.

The Auction House Cafe was a great find. The place doesn't look like much on the outside and it very seasoned on the inside, but what a great experience. The restaurant has 15 seats of mixed styles placed along a wrap around bar top. The kitchen is open, to the seating so you can talk with the Chef/owner Kim while she is preparing your meal. The servings are huge but full of flavor. Great discussions between the locals and all were welcoming. We ended up taking as much home as we ate. I strongly suggest the French Toast, Breakfast Scramble or the pancakes.

This was a HALF order - chock full of wonderful b'fast foods!

Not sure I can add more meaningful comments to the already glowing reports for the Auction House Restaurant.. it was EXCELLENT. Kim and her wait staff were friendly and fun. They've promised a trip o the UP for a class at my shop! The food was over the top yummy and of course the homemade bread was all it was built up to be. A definite "Return Trip" list-maker!

Great little restaurant. Not a lot of seating but food is amazing. They have homemade white and wheat bread that is delicious. I got a 1/2 order of their breakfast scramble with their homemade wheat bread. It was a lot of food for a 1/2 order but was so good. We have to come back and try their other breakfast and lunch options soon.

    Small but quaint!

Opens early, great food, friendly service, reasonably priced...best breakfast in town hands down. My local favorite for the last 25 years.

Still delicious and still good service…read more This past week, I went with the two eggs, which comes with diced redskin potatoes and choice of bread - I had the biscuit this time. The potatoes are so yum. This time instead of adding on the blueberry almond oatmeal, I went with the Oatcakes (pancakes made from oatmeal) which had blueberries inside. Split two cakes with my wife - enjoyed them and the cinnamon butter on top is delicious. She liked the Heartland and the kids went with French Toast plus turkey sausage.

I am just so disappointed in the evolution of Morning Star Cafe. Truly, it could be so great with…read morebetter management and staff. The waits are incredibly long. We even ate before we went so we wouldn't get hangry, but even from the wait of being seated to the time the kitchen finally makes your plate of food, my children were almost in tears because their tummies hurt. My daughter literally only ordered yogurt and fruit. She was the LAST one served. Please train servers to get children's food out quick (for everyone's sanity). When asked how our meal was, I finally did mention that this will be our last time patronizing this establishment. Clearly they are too busy to craft a joyful and memorable experience. It's better if we find a new spot. My previous review still stands. Go if you want a good breakfast, but be prepared to wait awhile and pay a premium for it.

Positives: Food was good quality and fresh, vibes and decor/furniture super cute…read more Negatives: super long wait time for food, it look 40 minutes for 4 Deli Sandwiches to be delivered. We did come on a Sunday for lunch so I'm sure their high demand time. Then when we got our order it was missing one of the sandwiches, so that took another 7 minutes to get. I also had to check on my order as I saw others getting theirs before ours. Bathrooms ran out of soap and paper towels. The process for getting your food was a bit confusing as there wasn't any order numbers so you couldn't tell how many other orders were in front of yours. Would only come back if I had plenty of time to wait for food.

The egg salad sandwich was the best sandwich I ever had, and I say this because of the Ciabatta…read more bread and the garlic aïoli, which added such a heavenly combo and taste and made my meal so worthwhile. I also ordered two coconut macaroons, which weren't too sweet and hit the spot. This place is extremely crowded and busy so make sure you plan at least 30 minutes ahead. Wait time is long and I wouldn't recommend if you're too hungry. It was definitely very very hot day so the place was pretty stuffy, but I don't blame the deli itself, but fair warning. It's quite busy as the chef is award winning when I looked up her name online.
